I think he means in terms of reading the last show. That sometimes the champions are so up to date that it spoils the latest show.
EDIT: Or maybe not...
Not so much as when you start reading a btb for the first time, but it has already been going for a while. For example, as someone who has been trying to read more btbs on this site, Yesterday I opened up "WWE 2007: Unleash the fury" by Kop. Without even scrolling down the page I could see that Triple H is the WWE Champion, Shelton Benjamin is the US Champion etc etc. It is the same for pretty much every btb in this forum. It kills my interest in the BtB to know what happens before I even start reading, and so the btb looses a potential reader.
That is why I say just put spoiler tags around your opening post, except for the original premise, and other things that people were meant to see right from the start.

But... you're going to be reading their latest show anyway majority of the time. It's not like it's revealing the results of a PPV. I still don't see your point.

As has already been said; most of the time you'll be reading the latest show where Triple H is the WWE Champion, so it is good that you know that he is the WWE Champion before you even read the show.
And I would have thought the reason for giving the title histories and current champions would be to NOT lose potential readers, so they don't feel like they have to read - in KOP's case 137 pages worth - just to see who the champions are at the moment, so you won't feel like you are behind in anything at all.
I can see your point though, but I just think that it helps that I don't have to read a whole thread to feel like I know what is going on. Using KOP's thread again as an example; having previously not seen a lot of it prior to a few days ago, I looked at the opening page and looked who the champions were and all of the past champions, as well as reading through the last few shows (great stuff btw ) and I feel like when he posts his next show I'll have a much better understanding of what is going on.
I see your point, but that is why I propose having spoiler tags around it. That way, if you don't want to read through 137 pages, then you can open it up and read the title histories. If not, you don't see it. It basically caters to all audiences.
I don't see what the problem is tbh. If the writing is top notch and entertaining, I don't care about being 'spoiled' I read Szumi's thread way after it had finished and I wasn't bothered in the slightest, it was the writing and the angles that I was interested in, whoever was crowned champion was just a bonus to me.
