Whether you follow my thread or not, it is irrelevant. It isn't a secret that the first half of 2011 was horrible for tag team wrestling in the WWE, with the primary tag teams being Slater and Gabriel, The Usos and Kozlov/Santino. With that being said, with the roster so thin at the time you should understand that it is more difficult than it looks to create legitimate tag teams without ruining the midcard even further. So what I'm doing is bringing in tag teams from afar (the independents and some teams created from FCW wrestlers) and I'm going to TRY and run some sort of tag team initiative. Now, the easy thought would be to run a tag team NXT, which I have put some thought in to it. But baring in mind I would want the majority of, if not ALL, of the tag teams involved to stick around, the competition would be rendered pointless.

Any of you guys have any ideas whatsoever? Because I don't have the foggiest.
NXT Tag Team? Well the NXT idea to me was brilliant with the wrong intentions/talent. So if you bring in a giant and a masked man as a tag team, then sure it would be interesting but you would have another santino/kozlov type tag team. The idea of bringing in tag team talent is relatively easy but realistically challenging to sort of "blend in" with the current roster. If you are to expand your tag team division without ruining your mid-card. Make it into a storyline in a way. Tag team fever? Invasion in pairs? Sounds corny but effective. Also ,you can "extract" tag teams from FCW. If all else fails, hire more mid-carders to create "well-known" tag teams.

Scrap the division. It's fucking horrible and any revival is disinteresting, at least to me. Modern day tag team wrestling just sucks, especially WWE.

As opposed to introducing all those teams at once in a NXT Style format, you could just integrate the teams that you had planned to succeed in NXT into the main roster at different points, but possibly just onto different brands. With the NXT idea it all seems a bit too sudden, whereas I personally would prefer teams to either gradually form or emerge up the ranks.

Just have a tag team open like T.N.A. did last year with the X-Division. Have teams come in and wrestle each other so one impresses while they both get noticed. Then push the winners and keep the losers around in like backstage segments until they are needed.

What I would do is try a little tournament. Quite like WWE just finished doing. Either you keep your tag champs intact, or, vacate the belt in some form or fashion. (i.e. there's a double pin a championship match and the title is declared vacant or one of the partners gets legit injured and he'll be out of action for more than the permitted 30 days without a title defense)

So, I'd at least have a 8 to 16 teams tournament and build it really slowly with only one or two matches per show and have the teams, like you've said, come from the indies and NXT and overseas as well. Then you could have vignettes and have them wrestle in more than just tournament matches (6-men tags) once they make it further in to the tournament depending on how over they get.

^ How about 1998 Post-Mania where Shawn Michaels stayed? Or maybe one I tried before, post-Wrestlemania XX where Goldberg and Lesnar stayed.

Thanks for the ideas I have taken them under consideration, I have also just thought about one to it's an angle that was done one year before the Summer of Punk. How about the idea of me doing what if WWE booked the Nexus angle correctly, what are your thoughts of me doing that.

There's a few options;

A) Pick the time period you are most familiar with. The period that you know most wrestlers, their characters, the type of product they presented etc.
B) Pick a time period that didn't live up to expectations. A certain angle, or just a general time period where you feel COULD HAVE been better than what it was in real life
C) Pick your favourite time period, a time period you remember extremely fondly and try to make it as different as possible whilst still producing an entertaining product.
