Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Always wanted to write with Kane. Such a great character with so much depth you can go. Monster or Comedic Character and you could pair him with anyone on the roster to form a tag team because everyone he has tagged with has more or less worked out brilliantly.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
I find that guys WITHOUT mannerisms are the toughest. Like Mark Henry is kinda easy because though his mic skills aren't the best he has that sort of slow talk mixed with some ghetto lingo. Where as Alex Riley, I have trouble writing for him.
Who do I wish to write for? Always, always, wanted to write for Mick Foley.

I couldn't stand writing promos for Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin in Era of Darkness.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Have to say I have never been able to write anything involving Triple H particularly well. There's nothing wrong with him at all because he has many tools, but it's just something about him that I just can't quite translate into anything believable, realistic, or frankly, good.
A guy I've always wanted to write well for is Umaga. Ironic, seeing as how I've done a pair of 2007/08 threads, but I never had him do anything in my older thread and that was a time when he honestly bored me. But looking back at it and maturing a bit more (and hell, Wolfy's booking of the guy didn't hurt at all), he's someone I would have loved to do many things with given all of his skills. This is probably more self-imposed, though, seeing as how the only thing really stopping me from writing him is I dislike booking for deceased wrestlers.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Triple H is one I don't have that much confidence in writing as well. Because we are used to these long winded promos I just feel like I can't live up to them. But as with anything the only way to get better is to just keep trying it and watching the real stuff and it should come together eventually.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
I hate writing promos with The Rock as a face. I swear sometimes it feels like you're just listing off catchphrase after catchphrase.
I'd love to write some stuff with the likes of Hogan, Nash, Hall, basically the original NWO faction, but it will probably never happen.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
What's the best example of a celebrity used well in a BtB you can think of?
I think Legend's use of Michael Buffer and Kirby's use of the Red Sox tie it for me.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Someone I hate writing for would be John Cena I flat out suck at anything with him promos and matches alike.
Have never seen a celeb used in a BTB besides as a ring announcer in the past.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
I don't get how anyone can say a John Cena promo is hard to write. If you're talking rapper Cena then I completely agree, but his current day gimmick? It's so easy to write for. It's such a clearly defined, cookie-cut clean character with zero depth.

Thank God. Don't want to see you butcher the nWo like you did the Hell In A Cell (yeah yeah I know, GAB. F*** you.)

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
I think it's not so much that the Cena character is hard to write, it's just that because his character is so bland EVERY single promo comes across as the same, boring shit, therefore you feel like your promo sucks.
I butchered every mother fucking thing in every mother fucking thread I've had, hence the following in your footsteps and retiring.
