I'm not even 100% sure if this is what you're looking for, but he wrote everyone on the roster like they were in their prime, even if they were from different generations. The main event of his first ever show was Randy Savage taking on Brock Lesnar. The main event of his Wrestlemania was Kurt Angle vs. Ric Flair. So even if it's not exactly what you might be looking for, it's the only good point of reference I can think of as a jumping off point for something like that that was successful here. And wasn't that thread the longest running created BTB ever? And the way I see it, it's unrealistic for one of us to be writing a wrestling company anyway. Have fun with it.

On the topic of recaps v. full or whathaveyou, it doesn't matter to me how its done so long as you can grip a reader and tell the story and portray the characters in a good manner. Full matches/shows do that much better, of course, but if someone can do it in recap form, more power to them. Some people aren't writers and would rather focus on the booking aspect, while others wish to do both. Whatever you think you can do well, do it. Unless it's write matches in commentary form. Those are terrible.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Hey guys, I enjoy reading the WCW threads in the btb section. Very fun to read. Would love to start up a WCW btb thread. Although I actually have an existing WWE thread I didn’t have many readers so I lost interest and I haven’t updated my btb thread for a few weeks. I’ve planned out all my future ppv cards for my existing WWE 2004 thread but I’ve just left it for a while. I’ll continue it on whenever I can. I do enjoy booking that time period, did loads of planning as I’ve written up shows in advance that I’ve still yet to post. During this week I’ve rebooked the year 2000 for WCW. It’s fun rebooking cards. I’ve planned out cards by improving the year and pushing the right guys. It’s a very hard time period to book as it was such an awful year for WCW so it’s a fun challenge improving the year. Since I can’t have 2 btb threads, anyone interested in reading my rebooking of WCW 2000 in the ppv section?

Also just need your opinions. Which 3 guys on the WCW roster in 2000 that never held the WCW world title would you push into the main event? Doesn't necessarily mean they have to become world champs that year. I’m going with Mike Awesome, Lance Storm and Kanyon.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I was always fond of Lodi as a kid, have no idea why but he just appealed to me. I dont think he is WCW Championship matterial, maybe a midcard title but I would love to see someone use him as I dont recall him ever appearing in a BTB before.

Hugh Morrus should be pushed up the card maybe not to title...Mike Awesome and Mike Sanders however are legit world title holders. Mike Sanders was amazing on the microphone.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Lance Storm is an obvious one. Contrary to popular belief his mic skills were good enough for a top guy, and he was amazing in the ring. Mike Awesome I'm not so sure about, he was a good big man but shit on the mic and didn't have the greatest look. Kanyon, bit goofy. Mike Sanders was great on the mic and it baffles me to this day he never got a shot in the WWE, I'd say he could have been up there. Shane Douglas definitely could have been a big player, like he was in ECW, good in the ring, great on the mic. Lastly, gotta mention Sean O'Haire, and Jindrak had potential too.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Granted this guy was only in WCW for half of January in 2000, Eddie Guerrero could have been packaged to get to the main event, and even though Benoit held the WCW World Title, he never got much of a chance since he left the next day.Others have been mentioned; Lance Storm is a big one for me, he was my favourite 'small guy' in WCW during it's last few years, love to see him Main Eventing as he had the talent to get there and his mic skills were, as pointed out in another post, actually really good. Sean O'Haire seems to be one everyone wanted to be in the main event, wouldn't put the world title on him since he only debuted in mid 2000, not unless he had a convincing push, something like Brock Lesnar did when he debuted in 2002. Billy Kidman is also someone who could have hanged with the main eventers, maybe not WCW Championship material but he could get to that main event level in my opinion.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Kidman lacked charisma though. Reminds me of their Kidman "push" *shudders*, when he "beat" Hogan but not really....and to this day Hogan uses that as a way to claim he did put over young guys. Biggest mistake of that angle was turning Kidman fucking heel.

Rey Mysterio ofcourse could have eventually gone to the top, but needed big time repackaging.

I'd go for Kanyon and Storm too, not sure if Steiner would already be in your main event scene, but he certainly should be, great heel in his day

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Yeah, Steiner was already in the main event scene in 2000, doing rambling shoot promos on Ric Flair Unless you meant Rick....which would be awkward.
