Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I think part of the problem, DC, is the belief structure of WF and BTB in how the general belief of the way shows should be written. There's too much of an e,phasis on writing these "full" shows, I feel. Writing promos out in lengthy detail, matches being lengthy, and PPV's being in full. I don't think it is needed, despite the moments of brilliance it can produce. It takes too much of a toll on the writer. I hated that to keep up a top level, I needed to be writing 20 page Nitro's. That's too much for me . I like the style I did with my WWF 99 piece. The shows were smaller, and it allows you to produce more, and be more of a booker, as compared to a writer.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

My biggest weakness is my writing. Writing up a ppv is very difficult. My SummerSlam ppv will probably be up tomorrow and it was difficult for me to write up a ladder match. I'm just going to do the best I can. I also hate writing tag matches/multi man matches. I find writing the matches the hardest part, takes me ages. So this is why I usually donít do full match write ups for my shows.

For my thread Iím going to debut Muhammad Hassan when I get to November. I was just wondering what peopleís opinions are on Hassan debuting as a face? I was thinking of bringing him in as a blue chipper Arab American without Daivari. Vince decides to give the guy a chance. Maybe I can have a guy like Eugene becoming his friend showing him around but most of the guys wonít like Hassan, they donít want to tag with him. He sort of gets the Rocky Maivia treatment and later on he can go heel on Eugene and thatís when I can bring Daivari in for the Anti American gimmick. Maybe a tag team feud with Regal and Eugene to start off with. I just thought I could go with it a different way to start off with. Not too sure about it, itís something Iíd like to do but not sure if itíd work or not. Or would it be better if I just bring him in with Daivari the way how they came in with the Anti American gimmick?

Also Iím going to bring in Mike Bucci as Nova but I wanted to get your thoughts on his Simon Dean gimmick?

Thanks.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

If you want Hassan to be taken seriously, then DO NOT, under any circumstances, have him become friends with Eugene upon arrival.

And SIMON DEAN~! is an epic character.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I'd enjoy watching someone try to book Hassan as a babyface. It would certainly be unique.

Though honestly I always felt the real-life Hassan's character was intrisically babyface. Hassan loved America, but he hated the way Americans treated him after 9/11...he just wanted to be accepted into society, and yet the fans hated him for making that request. A lot of people crap on his gimmick and say he got nothing but cheap heat, but I disagree, I thought the portrayal of his character was very thought-provoking (initially anyway, by the end of his run he was just another stereotype). If anything, Hassan was the babyface and the audience were the heels.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Hassan going to Eugene wouldn't, as Stojy said, mean anyone will take him seriously. Hassan had the potential to reach unknown heights at his peak in the WWE and it would be interesting to see if you could replicate/make that better with Hassan as a heel. My only worry would be that you would get rid of him come The Great American Bash 2005 (A long time away, I know) as in your thread, as you've stated on many different occasions, you aren't one for using people beyond where they went in real life, so that would be my only worry. If you were going to have him leave in 2005, then I guess what you do with him wouldn't really matter but I'd hope he'd be here for the long haul and you would give him a big push, face or heel, just not with Eugene please.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Thanks guys. I’ve already planned out my storylines/match cards up till WrestleMania 21. I’ve finally managed to get my SummerSlam show up. I may start Hassan off as a face but it’s most likely that I will bring him in as a heel as it will probably be a lot easier. He was a fantastic heel. If I decide to start him off as a face then I won't involve him with Eugene.

Baldwin- Yeah I’m not going to use stars beyond where they went in real life. However I will use Hassan a lot better than he was actually used in real life. GAB 05 is definitely a long way and I’m not sure If I’m going to go on beyond WrestleMania. I’ll see how it goes.

Stojy- I did like The Simon Dean character but I prefer him as Nova. As Nova I think I can book him a lot better, plus I liked his innovative moveset as Nova. He would be a good addition in the Intercontinental title division.
