Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
How old do you think I am Thunder? Or was that a general question?
I started doing this stuff back in 1998, joining TOA around mid 2000 or so. There are two people I've gotten to know quite well from that TOA timeframe, that to this day still work on their feds. I'm trying to convince them to come here to BTB, so we can expand the community further.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Come on people, don't you know I have Summer vacation coming up and need to transfer to a university next semester to work on finishing my first Psychology degree? Hurry up and get that Tournament started so I can have my final go around! Haha. =)

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Not sure if there'll be a tournament around this Summer, last time if I remember right we had three mods to run it (back when BKB, WCW and Shock were) and it also barely came through. As of right now, there are no mods and Headliner pops in every so often to make sure people follow the rules. Members think that Tournaments bring something to the section and makes a Summer boom again, but it makes quite the opposite. After the qualifying round, most people put their own BTB's on hiatus to do the tournament, if it gets done at all and makes the activity even worse.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Oh, I know all that about it being a myth that tournaments brings a boom to the section. I think they are still an important part to the section though, it is tradition! I just need something to get me to write enough matches that I can feel finished lol.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
I've been saying I'm done doing this stuff for years. But, realistically, you're never truly done. It's been a on and off thing for me since I was about 13.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
So there is no tournament this year? I liked it last year, and I still managed to keep my BTB (the one I had at the time) going whilst it was on.
Is there no way we can get another mod or two for the section? I don't really understand how that whole shabang works.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
I'd imagine that would be something to bring up to Platt in the suggestions board, TWG.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
- The reason why we don't have a mod right now is because the section doesn't need one. As much as we (the members that were around this time last year) were complaining about it being shit in activity compared to years before, it still had more activity than what we have right now. I am sure the moment things pick up again, (there is always a few month down period in every year) there will be someone appointed in charge. To hold order and make sure people don't spam, double post and etc.
- I am sure if someone really wants to organize one they can pm Headliner and ask permission to open up a tourny thread for it and for it to be stickied, however I highly doubt it will sucseed with the five or six members that are posting here regulary at the moment. If you all really want one, wait until July-August for new guys to come in during the school holidays as usual or older members to come back.
Those are my two cents.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
There's no reason for a tournament this year. BTB users should be focusing on their own BTB's along with supporting newer users & their BTB's with reviews so that activity can increase. Otherwise the new users will just stop their BTB, leave, go to another forum and the cycle will continue.
And I've explained why there isn't a mod here. Not going to explain that again. If you have an issue, PM me.
