Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Howdy all,

I've been gone for about three years, but I'm about to jump back in. I've re-read the rules thread and looked over the other stuff, but is there anything else of note I should know before I start my thread? I guess just a general "State of the BTB section" would be nice. I'll try to drop some quality reviews as well. Basically, does stuff operate how it did three years ago, or are there some changes I need to be aware of? Thanks.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Not sure if you remember, bro; but nice to see you back, Patriot. I liked reading your stuff back in the day. Can't help with the rules question, though; only recently started lurking around here properly for the first time since 2009. As far as I can see, 'aint much has changed 'round these parts, sir.

On a side note; I've had about twelve projects in the last couple of months, all ready to start up and go but I've since cut it down to about three or four; anybody be interested in reading Ring of Honor 2005? TNA 2011? One that has stuck out with me personally is WWE 2006. I might go for this created promotion; not a lot of work done on it yet, though; heavy foundations laid for the other three, a show or two here and there. Anybody?

I'm personally a sucker for seeing the WWE 2005/06 threads, because that was the time where I started properly getting back into wrestling again. But with that being said, Created Feds can be good sometimes if given proper care and attention (ala 619), and considering how shit TNA was in 2011, anyone could book it better than it actually was, and I was considering a 2011 TNA thread before my current project.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Go TNA or ROH. Despite being 'different', a majority of created fed based BTB's end up looking pretty much the same. Only a few (Para, Alco and 619) have been able to do it properly.

I wouldn't bother reading any new WWE 2006 threads these days either. BKB and Legend when active do a good enough job with that year, and I can't really see anybody else getting close to them, so I wouldn't waste my time.

Woah, dead much? General question, anyone know of any successful TNA threads other than that of Shock's? Be interesting to read what direction some folks went with TNA from whatever year...

Wasn't around when it was going on, but AMPLine4Life's thread has always commonly been cited as the standard by which all TNA threads go against. It's roaming around in the Hall of Fame section.

Or in full here for you

I can't remember anyone doing that, but I think it would be a funny thing to see

I had a thread planned where it was going to be a TNA one where Chris Harris was just going to become the bottom guy in the company, and then a story where he would then take the fight to Immortal etc, and then build a team to take them on and the guys in the team would go over etc..

I wouldn't call it a complete burial, but I made Chris Benoit the chew toy in my Batista and Kurt Angle feud way back when the whole Benoit fiasco happened. It wasn't a complete burial, but I did completely job him out. The reason speaks for itself. And if my inconsistent memory serves me correctly, Wolfy completely buried the Spirit Squad once.

Now, a question. I'm more than positive that I've asked this before, but I'll ask it again for revitalizing discussion purposes - what do you, as a booker/writer/whatever you consider yourself feel is your biggest weak point and what is your biggest strength? Either answer can be thread related (like a weak Women's division) or it can be skill related (like sucking at promos).

Well in my one I am probably going to end up burying Alberto Del Rio mostly cause I hate him and I need someone to job to other people.

Spelling mistakes in my writing, finding time to do it and matches. I cannot think of how to get the flow of matches right.
