I have a question. Is it ok if I were to make a BTB based on fiction wrestlers? Like make up my own wrestlers but have some kind of comparison so I don't confuse readers?

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on the use of The Undertaker in BTB? Has anybody ever done anything really out of the box with him? Does anyone actually enjoy using him? Has anyone had real success in using him?

Personally, i find him quite hard to write as it's repetitive and whatnot. You can't really just shift his gimmick like a click of the fingers either to spice him up a little. You tend to have to have him come in, feud with someone, vanish then return, rinse and repeat.

'Taker is a tough cookie to book. It's easy to just bring him back around January, have him be involved in one big feud, win at WM and leave again. It's what the WWE has been doing for years and it's very easy booking. However, changing this set-up and going out of the box with Taker could possibly tarnish his legacy, which is not something you want to do. I think he's one of those guys you probably shouldn't mess too much with if your BTB is set in current times; have him retire after WM30 and voila. If it's in the 90's, it would be fine because he wasn't such a legendary figure yet. Also, American Bad Ass > Deadman in booking fun.

Most people use him to put other superstars over. I can't remember ever reading someone putting the world title on him or giving him a decent run in the main event.

Yeah, current day the option you suggested is spot on. I'm currently in 2005 though and that's why it's fairly difficult as he's not long returned as the 'Deadman' so can't really switch it up too much. At the same time though he's done near enough everything going already in both personas. You can't really do anything too exciting with him that hasn't been done, hasn't been seen before. I also find myself wanting to use him to put over some younger stars BIG time but the more you continue to do that, the less it's going to mean as you continue to do so. 'Tis a tricky one.

2005, hmm. I don't even remember what he did in 2005 actually. First thing that came to mind was that horrible Dudley Boyz/Taker feud, but that was in 2004 if I remember correctly. The problem with using Taker to put guys over is that the Mania undefeated streak loses its drawing power. Ofcourse he can lose here and there, like he did to Orton. He probably should have jobbed more from 2004 'till now. Was not a fan of him ending Punk's momentum as the heel champ (in 2009?).

I'd actually like to see a Taker heel run. He's always been a great heel. Hasn't been one since 2002 though. Heel Taker in 2005/2006/2007 etc -> Taker/Cena anyone?

As for booking the Taker, I think he would be a hoot to book.

You could go nuts and bring Ministry Taker back.

You could go early 90's Taker body bag, casket matches, ect.

You could have go personal and force the end of the dead man character and bring out the true dead man.

I personally wish someone would bring back Paul Bearer and bring back the Funeral Parlor that would be good times.

As for cycling him in and out, since this is fiction you don't HAVE to do that. Do whatever you want. Keep him around 365. But if you go with the in and out route there are ways to go about it to make it interesting.

I'd go all western on it with Taker only returning for Mania season to see who is next to step up to try and claim his Mania win streak. You could spend a year building up monsters or guys you want to push and come WrestleMania you have a fresh matchup for the deadman.

Is it unheard of to have a promo hyping the arrival of a Superstar/Tag Team for different people on both shows? So having a set of packages on Raw for one person, and another set on Smackdown for another, would that be too many new faces coming in at once?
