Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I think this is the best place to post this, as I don't want to spam/clog up any other threads... but I would just like to thank the 'older' bookers in this section (Wolf Beast, Hulk, Nige etc) for setting the example for the newer guys like myself.

I did a thread a couple of months back (WWE: The Next Level, which didn't really hit off ), which was my first thread since coming over from the Discussion Threads, and I did it without looking at anyone else's Booker threads first. Big Mistake. I asked for the thread to be closed about a month ago now, and I've spent the month since researching and looking through the threads by the bookers I mentioned above, as well as others from some of the newer guys, just to get a better feel for the section, and it has really paid off if I am being honest. So I have spent the past week and a half or so coming up with a new concept for a thread and such (I won't go into detail, that is what the Advertising Thread is for), and I feel that when I am ready to set it off, I will be better equipped to having a much more successful thread.

So to any new bookers out there looking to get started, read some other threads first. You will get a feel for the section, and other threads may spark your own ideas (Don't rip obviously, haha).

So thanks guys once again I am enjoying a lot of what I am reading in the section, and you guys don't need me to have to tell you to keep up with the good work

Also, sorry if I didn't mention any names I should have done

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

What do you guys think about bringing in former superstars into a thread? Is it considered cheating, in a way? I've read a lot of the all time great threads on here, and most, if not all of them, seem to have guys that always "come back". I'm talking about the usuals, Stone Cold, The Rock, Lesnar, etc.

Even in my own threads in the past, I've done it.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

It's your thread, you don't NEED to stick to realism, though some sort of reasoning for bringing such stars as Austin, Rock, Lesnar, Angle, Sid Vicious () etc back would be nice. Better than just having them come back without a reason imo. But yeah, your thread do what YOU want.

I always enjoyed people stretching the boundaries and within reason of course, doing things differently to the WWE and not just sticking to their rosters.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

One of the reasons why I enjoy the concept of Be The Booker so much is stretching the realms of realism, hence why not only do I do so (when I actually post) but I recommend it as well. So yeah, do as you wish, bring in as you wish, retire/fire who you wish and do whatever else you wish. It's your thread and nobody should be able to tell you different. If people don't want to review or give feedback because of a decision you made, then it sucks to be them because they're being narrow minded fools. Unless of course whatever you did makes no sense whatsoever etc.

Thank you. I have NEVER seen the allure of a Sting/Taker match or feud. I did a small one recently just for shits and giggles, but I never liked it. I understand it's a possibly big money match, I just don't see much in it.

...and on the topic of realism and bringing in who you want/when you want, I wouldn't say it's 'cheating', but I can see how some people are turned away by it. Setting up a roster in a certain time period for most people means seeing what you can do with what you're given. I can see how bringing in, say, Steve Austin into a 2009 thread full time could be seen by some as uninspired, unoriginal, uncreative and that you're going with a bigger, already established character versus building one up yourself. But that may be looking at it in a realistic light. But this is BTB. Ruck Fealism. Personally, I don't see the problem in crossing the lines of realism. I wish to see more of it. It's when you go over the line of sheer logic that gets testy.
