I'm not sure if it's just me, but the old thread has become an absolute pain in the ass to open due to it trying to take me ten or so pages ahead of the actual last page. So to make it easier, here's a new thread.
~ No spamming
~ No arguing
~ Under any circumstances, NO "WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!"
~ You can discuss other BTBs here, it's fine. Don't shill your BTB needlessly, however
~ If you have a question regarding "What Should You Do," just go with your gut instinct
~ Use references like google or onlineworldofwrestling for answers to questions you could easily find yourself
I've been watching some clips again from WCW 98/99 and Konnan was over as fuck, he should have been pushed to the main event considering the pops he was getting and how he got the crowd involved. Instead he was just another part of the nWo, nWo Wolfpac etc, so retarded. The guy has something that made him connect to the fans, he was SUPER OVER in Mexico before WCW, then he went to WCW as a relatively nobody cause CMLL wasn't shown in the US and he got over too.
ITS funny how once you get Szumi and wolf beast back in the mix along with the consistent contributions of the guy who in my opinion has been the MVP of this section, nige my interest in booking again comes back.
Japw july 2006 here I come, I dare anyone to watch Japw world wide on YouTube and tell me that doesn't look like a fun project. Homicide, kazarian, teddy hart, briscoes, Maximo's, rhino, abyss, spike Dudley, talia Madison, Ect.
My long awaited return has begun, well long awaited by me and well just me
Does anyone else do the formatting as they go on Word and then change the settings on Wrestling Forum so it copies over? If so what word font comes over as the basic font on here. The one that Wolfy and Legend use in their shows. I can't seem to find it on Word
Am I the only one that used to spend more than an hour formatting shows here the old-fashioned way because I had no idea how to properly work the automatic formatting thing?
^ Does anyone knowwhere I could find a good collection of those types of pictures, Im having huge trouble finding anything close to the amount I need as my next BTB will have a very varied roster, TNA, WWE and old WCW guys, would appreciate any tips.
^^ As far as I know, people usually just made them or had them made by someone on photostop. I could be totally wrong here, but that's what I use to do when I had photoshop on my old PC.
It depends really, any title reign can be a dominant and memerable one if done right under the correct circumstances. Heck, even a one week one like Kane had a while back could work in a thread if pulled off right and believably.
You ever get 75% done with a PPV and real life take over? I'm with that with my WCW thread and I'm having hard time finding time to write so my question.
When do you find the time to write? What time of day etc. how long do you write in one setting?
Generaly when I'm not working, not at college and the weather is shit so I don't go out. And even then, I first catch up on all of the wrestling that I haven't seen from that week, catch up on any TV that I haven't seen from that week and then catching up on sleep. I'll literally do 30 minute slots, if that, and that's all I might do for a whole week. Other times I may be able to get a few solid hours of writing every other day - It generally depends on teh circumstances. In terms of time, it's generally around 10 pm - 1 am simply because if I'm not already out by then, then chances are I'm not going out anyway. BTB isn't a priority in my life, more of a hobby, and I enjoy other hobbys a little bit more so BTB is normally pushed aside for the majority of things in my life, which I presume is the same for most others.
It is whenever I have the time to really. Like Flux said, if I'm not going out or don't have any plans I just get on with it. I find it hard to sit there for hours on end writing, but I get good chunks done in one sitting.
I'm something of an insomniac, so most of my writing is done late at night. Might explain the confusion of matches having been announced on previous shows, and then having to go back and re-work the dates because they accidentally get left off the following shows card.
What is everyone's opinion on using a wrestler past their retirement? For example, Stone Cold being used in a wrestling capacity after WrestleMania 19? (Not like Flair/Michaels who had official retirement matches.)
On whether or not it can be done, I think it is fine as long as it is believable.
Whether or not it should be done...I'm not sure. I tend to prefer seeing young talent being pushed so if Stone Cold's purpose is to put over the new talent, I think that'd be fine. If his purpose isn't to pass the torch or if he is taking up valuable time away from the young guys then I'd have issues.
As long as they're physically able to compete at that time then that's fine. The Rock is still in great condition, hence why he could put on a match against Cena and will probably compete at Wrestlemania 29. Using someone like Terry Funk or another golden oldie' for a 20 minute+ match would be ridiculous. As long as it's possible, it's realistic and it's done well in terms of the actual booking and it has purpose, I see no reason why anybody should have a problem with it.
If it is at least believable then I don't care who you write, it could be Savage in WWE in the early 2000's for all I care, as long as it's believable.
I was thinking of something lately and wanted to get your guys thoughts on the matter. The question is, what do you think qualifies someone as a Heavyweight wrestler and what qualifies them as an X-Division wrestler. I'm thinking back to 2005/2006 TNA's X-Division and how they Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, and Christopher Daniels in it, all three guys who easily switched from X-Division into Heavyweight division. So do you guys think it is the match style that determines what is and isn't X-Division or something else?
