Thanks Storm, great to hear you're reading mate!

FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN!
Live from Greenville, South Carolina

SMACKDOWN begins with a sombre looking Teddy Long stood in his office in front of the TV cameras. He looks shaken still after his experiences with Kane last week and he looks as if he has been struggling to sleep ... He begins to read a statement from a piece of paper in his hands ...

TEDDY LONG: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Friday Night SMACKDOWN. I would like to start the show tonight by issuing an apology ... Recently on SMACKDOWN, some of my decisions regarding the World Championship reign of Kane have been ...

Long pauses and takes a deep breath before continuing ...

TEDDY LONG: ... downright unfair. At Survivor Series, I forced Kane to defend his World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat Ladder Match against Christian and Matt Hardy. I did this despite knowing that this type of match clearly suited the two challengers and not the champion. For that, Kane, I apologise.

The crowd in the yet to be seen arena boo this apology ...

TEDDY LONG: On SMACKDOWN last week, I went a step further when I decided to force Kane to defend his World Championship twice in one night with no notice. I now accept that this was unfair and completely wrong on my part. Kane lost his World Championship in the first match against the Big Show and this was clearly my fault for giving him such a match at short notice. Again, Kane, I apologise.

More boos and jeers from the WWE Universe in attendance in South Carolina tonight ...

TEDDY LONG: After Kane lost the World Championship to Big Show, CM Punk went on to win the title by defeating Big Show in the final match last week. Regretfully, I cannot take back my decisions of last week and Kane is no longer the World Champion. However, he does have a rematch that he will be taking very soon. As a further apology to Kane, I have agreed that he will be allowed to choose any match he wants to appear on SMACKDOWN for the next two shows.

The crowd in the arena are not happy with this statement from the SMACKDOWN General Manager ...

TEDDY LONG: In the future, I promise to run SMACKDOWN in a fair way and will endeavour to ensure that all my decisions are fair and proper. I hope you all enjoy tonight’s show ...

The camera zooms out and we see Kane walking into view from behind the camera ... He has a maniacal grin on his face and he looks into the camera with a sick smile ...

KANE: Holla, holla, playas!

Kane laughs out loud as Teddy Long nervously looks away from Kane as the SMACKDOWN opening credits begin ...

*** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO ***

The cameras swing around the arena as Michael Cole and Mick Foley introduce us to SMACKDOWN and hype up the announcement just made by the General Manager, Teddy Long. Foley is sympathising with his plight whereas Cole is declaring that it is about time somebody did something about the way in which Teddy Long is running SMACKDOWN and that Kane is completely justified in his opinion ...

*** THIS FIRE BURNS ***

TONY CHIMEL: Please welcome to the ring ... the new World Heavyweight Champion ... C.M. PUNK!

Some cheers go up but it is mostly boos as the new World Heavyweight Champion is introduced by Tony Chimel and he walks to the ring with the title belt over his shoulder. The cameras zoom in on Punk’s belt and the gleaming name plate with the name ‘C.M. PUNK’ proudly displayed to the world ... Punk gets into the ring and holds the title belt up high so that the SMACKDOWN audience can clearly see it ...

C.M. PUNK: Ladies and Gentlemen, I stand before you now as your ... NEW World Heavyweight Champion ... C.M. Punk! Let’s take a look how I did it shall we?

Boos echo around the arena as Punk smirks cockily ... On the titantron, the replay of C.M. Punk hitting the ‘Go To Sleep’ on Big Show as he was held up on the top rope is shown followed by Punk covering Show and getting the 3 count to take the title from him moments after he won it. After the replay, the cameras switch back to Punk who is smiling wide and clearly enjoying being the new World Heavyweight Champion right now!

C.M. PUNK: Yes, South Carolina, I am the new World Heavyweight Champion, I am a ‘straight edge’ World Heavyweight Champion and I will be the World Heavyweight Champion for a long, long time. You see, ‘straight edge’ means that I don’t drink alcohol like most of you do. ‘Straight egde’ means that I don’t smoke cigarettes like most of you do. ‘Straight edge’ means that I don’t do drugs and, most of all, ‘straight edge’ means that ... I am better than all of you!

Further boos and jeers for the champion ...

C.M. PUNK: And it means that I am better than the entire SMACKDOWN locker room, it means that I am better than the entire RAW locker room. I am the best wrestler in the world, on the entire planet. There is nobody who can take this away from me. Nobody ...

*** CRANK IT UP ***

Loud cheers in the arena for the arrival of the man who – for a few moments anyway – was the World Heavyweight Champion last week after he defeated Kane to win the title. He walks to the ring with a purpose and waving his hands at the fans who are cheering. He gets into the ring where he is goaded by the trash talk from the man who beat him last week in CM Punk ... Show ignores it and takes a microphone ...

TONY CHIMEL: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome ... THE BIG SHOW!

Cheers for the Big Show go up as he prepares to address the man who stole his dream last week ...

BIG SHOW: Punk, do us all a favour and shut up!

Cheers for the Big Show getting directly to the point and shutting up the champion ...

CM PUNK: Who do you think ...

BIG SHOW: I’m the guy that you took advantage of last week, Punk, I’m not very happy so if I was you, I’d watch my mouth right now. Understand me?

Punk looks around incredulous but he does as he is told and keeps quiet ...

BIG SHOW: Now, as we all just heard, SMACKDOWN General Manager has given the man who I beat last week, Kane, the right to choose any match he wants tonight and on next week’s SMACKDOWN ... some kind of apology for the unfair matches he put poor little Kane in last week ...

Boos around the arena ...

BIG SHOW: Now, I understand that Teddy Long is under pressure from Kane, maybe he is being intimidated but I don’t have a problem with it. And you wanna’ know why Punk?

Punk feigns interest in Big Show’s opinion and sarcastically mouths ‘Why? Please tell us all!’ to Show ...

BIG SHOW: I’ve just been informed, Punk, of the match that Kane has decided to make for tonight. He wants to see you in action, Punk ...

Punk looks over at Big Show, he has grabbed his interest now ...

BIG SHOW: You’re going to be in a match, Punk ...

CM Punk is clearly not happy with this decision ...

BIG SHOW: ... oh yes, you are in a match, Punk, and your opponent ... is ... me!

The crowd erupts as Big Show smiles at an extremely worried and anguished CM Punk who is not at all happy about this. He yells at Tony Chimel and the timekeepers but they can’t do anything about it ...

CM PUNK: No way, I’m not having that. Teddy Long, I demand you get out here now and change this match. I don’t care what you’ve promised Kane, I am the champion so get out here ...

Punk and Show both look towards the stage for sign of Teddy Long ...

CM PUNK: ... NOW!

Another long pause but then ...

*** MACMILITANT ***

Out comes a nervy looking Teddy Long who is glancing around and behind himself as he walks out on stage with a microphone ...

TEDDY LONG: Err ... CM Punk ... you will face Big Show tonight ... I’m not changing the match ...

Punk nearly has a fit in the ring whilst Big Show clenches his big right hand up and looks at it whilst casting an eye over at CM Punk in anticipation of the match later tonight ...

TEDDY LONG: ... and there will be a Special Guest Referee for the match as well ... that man will be ... Kane!

The expression on Big Show’s face changes slightly as he stares quizzically at the stage and Teddy Long ... Punk still looks upset over the decisions being made tonight ... The cameras focus back on Teddy Long who starts to walk back off the stage when the former World Champion, Kane, comes out to greet him. Kane puts an arm round Teddy Long’s shoulders as they face Punk and Big Show in the ring ... The crowd is booing but Kane laughs maniacally as SMACKDOWN heads into its first commercial break of the evening ...

SMACKDOWN returns with MVP in the ring ...

*** I’M COMIN’ ***

TONY CHIMEL: This match is set for one fall. Introducing first, from Miami, Florida, weighing 252 pounds ... M. V. P!

MVP pretends to shoot a basketball into a hoop as he prepares for his match tonight ...

TONY CHIMEL: And please welcome at this time ... RICARDO RODRIGUEZ!

Boos echo around the arena as the slimy looking Mexican steps forward in the ring ...

*** REALEZA ***

From the side of the stage appears a 1965 Classic Cobra with Alberto Del Rio driving it slowly into the arena whilst the fans around boo and jeer him ... Del Rio steps out of the car with the Intercontinental Championship belt around his waist and steps onto the ramp whilst sparks fly from the ceiling to give an impression of supreme grandeur ...

MICHAEL COLE: This man is, Mick, well on his way to being the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time!

MICK FOLEY: Yeah, maybe Cole! He’s got an awful long way to go yet if he wants to add that to his list of accomplishments. However, I will admit that he is very impressive!

MICHAEL COLE: You’ll admit it? I’m sure that Alberto Del Rio couldn’t care less if you admit it or not, Mick. He knows that he is the greatest and he knows that he is destined for big things here on SMACKDOWN!

MICK FOLEY: Maybe so, Cole, but this is also a huge match for MVP here. A win here and MVP could be the next man to challenge for that Intercontinental Championship of Mr. Del Rio’s ...

MICHAEL COLE: Yeah, like that’s gonna’ happen, Mick. MVP is drifting into obscurity without a trace of a fight ...

NON-TITLE MATCH: ALBERTO DEL RIO vs. MVP

MVP starts out quick and he has Alberto Del Rio on the backfoot for much of the early going ... However, he cannot sustain it after the first hint of distraction from Ricardo Rodriguez and Del Rio begins to take control of the match. Working on the arm of MVP, Del Rio is clearly setting his opponent up for the devastating Cross Arm Breaker later on in the match ... Del Rio has MVP down on his knees and he drags him up viciously and sets up for a scoop powerslam before crashing MVP down onto the mat with it. Del Rio looks in complete control and he cockily struts around a little before heading back over to MVP ... this costs him as MVP drop kicks Del Rio’s knee and takes him down to the mat in one go. Recovering slightly, MVP steps back and allows Del Rio to start getting up as he waits and waits ... Drive-By Kick from MVP takes Alberto Del Rio down once more ... Cover from MVP ...

* Del Rio kicks out! *

Both men get to their feet and Del Rio goes for a wild clothesline that MVP ducks easily, Del Rio hits the ropes and MVP catches him on return and hits an overhead belly to belly suplex that crashes Del Rio down on the mat. MVP performs his little basketball jig before hitting the Ballin’ Elbow to the fans’ delight, cover again from MVP ...

* Kick out by Del Rio! *

The Intercontinental Champion is not going down without a fight and MVP now knows it. As Del Rio gets up, MVP places his leg over the back of Del Rio’s neck and sets up for the Playmaker ... Just as he is about to hit it though, Del Rio manages to escape and he manages to catch MVP with a German Suplex that he holds for the pin ...

* MVP kicks out! *

MVP staggers to the corner and this gives Del Rio his opening as he crashes into MVP in the corner with a running Enzuguri that sends his opponent crashing down to the mat. Del Rio lifts him up and hits a double knee arm-breaker that leaves MVP rolling in agony and clutching his muscle ... It’s a matter of time and Del Rio knows it as he sets up for his submission finisher ... He rolls himself around MVP and locks in the Cross Arm Breaker that leaves MVP in agony on the mat ... however, MVP is able to reach out and clasp the bottom rope to the annoyance of Del Rio as he is forced to break the hold. Del Rio gets up and stands over MVP cockily before facing the fans and wagging his finger at them ... He drags MVP to his knees and sets him up for something different ... Del Rio lifts MVP up in the air towards his shoulders, lifts him high ... ALBERTO DEL RIO HITS A HUGE POWERBOMB! We’ve not seen that before from Del Rio as he makes the cover ...

* 2 *
* 3 *

WINNER: Alberto Del Rio (4:39)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... ALBERTO DEL RIO!

MICHAEL COLE: As if he wasn’t dangerous enough, Mick, he’s adding new moves to his arsenal all the time!

MICK FOLEY: That was one hell of a Powerbomb from Del Rio, there’s not many who could withstand that!

MICHAEL COLE: Not many? Nobody could withstand that!

MVP leaves the ring whilst Del Rio takes a microphone from his ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez and prepares to speak ...

MICHAEL COLE: Be quiet, Mick, he’s going to speak!

Del Rio raises the microphone to his mouth ...

ALBERTO DEL RIO: My name ... My name is Alberto Del Riiiiiiiioooooo! But you ... you already know that! You also already know that I am the Intercontinental Champion! But what you don’t know ... what you don’t know ... is that the entire SMACKDOWN locker room fears me ... Están asustados ante mí, they are all scared to face me ...

The boos ring out around the arena as Del Rio confidently smirks and holds his Intercontinental Championship aloft ...

ALBERTO DEL RIO: ... nobody can beat me for this title, not even Mark Henry ...

Del Rio turns to the titantron to await the arrival of Mark Henry ...

... and he waits ...

... and he waits ...

... and he waits ...

... and there is no sign of the World’s Strongest Man!

ALBERTO DEL RIO: Just as I thought, Mark Henry is a cobardo, a coward ... I took out his friend Evan Bourne last week and he knows that he cannot beat me ...

*** SOMEBODIES GONNA’ GET THEIR ASS KICKED ***

Finally, Mark Henry has heard enough and he angrily heads for the ring to confront Alberto Del Rio ... when he arrives in the ring, Del Rio stands his ground as he faces up to him in the middle of the ring ... Suddenly, Ricardo Rodriguez blindsides Mark Henry with a shot to the face and Henry responds by grabbing the announcer by the scruff of his suit ... Del Rio though refuses to stand back and he smashes Mark Henry in the back with the Intercontinental Championship before hitting a stiff kick to the side of Henry’s head as well. With Henry down, Alberto Del Rio looks to lock in the Cross Arm Breaker but it seems that Henry is not beaten as he overpowers Del Rio and starts to pummel him on the mat ... again, Ricardo Rodriguez attacks Henry as well which allows Alberto Del Rio to escape but it means that Mark Henry has the announcer trapped in the ring ... Del Rio is in no mood to rescue him though and Henry stares out at Del Rio daring him to ... when Del Rio backs away up the ramp, Henry decides to send a message and hits the World’s Strongest Slam on Ricardo before staring out at Del Rio as he backs away ...

SMACKDOWN returns with an empty ring ...

*** MY TIME IS NOW ***

TONY CHIMEL: This match is set for one fall ... Introducing first, from West Newbury, Massachusetts ... weighing 240 pounds ... JOHN CENA!

Cena heads for the ring but it is a different Cena now as he refuses to salute the crowd, refuses to clap hands with the kids in the aisle and refuses to throw his hat into the crowd once he enters the ring. Cena is clearly a man with a changed attitude now and he summons for a microphone from Tony Chimel ...

JOHN CENA: Listen up, I’ve got something to say ...

A mixed reaction from the crowd who are not sure about what is going on with Cena nowadays ...

JOHN CENA: On Monday Night RAW this week, I decided to pay a visit to Randy Orton ...

Cheers for the mention of the Viper ...

JOHN CENA: A lot of people seem to be unhappy with my actions on RAW. I distracted Randy Orton as he tried to secure a shot at the WWE Championship, I even dragged him out of the ring when he was trying to pin Kurt Angle ...

Boos for Cena’s actions ...

JOHN CENA: Now there are a lot of hypocrites walking round backstage who are accusing me of forgetting all about my principles. Hustle, loyalty and respect. They are accusing me of being a coward ... being disloyal to my fans ... and disrespecting Randy Orton and the WWE Championship.

More jeers for Cena as he prepares to continue ...

JOHN CENA: And you know what?

Cena pauses as the crowd wait on his next statement ...

JOHN CENA: I don’t care!

The WWE Universe in South Carolina are incensed by Cena’s comment and the jeers and boos ring out around the arena ...

JOHN CENA: For years and years, I have fought hard, I have hustled and scrapped and won title after title after title. And for what? Every arena I head into, I hear boos and chants of ... ‘Cena sucks!’ ...

The crowd erupt into a chant of ‘Cena sucks! Cena sucks!’ now that it has been mentioned ...

JOHN CENA: Whatever I say, whatever I do, however much sweat and blood I give for this company, I get boos and disrespectful chants ... I’m sick of it. I have been loyal to the WWE, loyal to the WWE Universe, loyal to the Cenation ... and do I get any respect?

More boos echo through the arena as Cena pauses ...

JOHN CENA: I certainly got no respect from Randy Orton. After Survivor Series, I apologised to Randy Orton. But he refused to accept my apology, he refused to take my word, he implied that I lost the WWE Championship on purpose ...

Another chant goes up, this time the WWE Universe are chanting ‘RKO!’ at Cena ...

JOHN CENA: Chant for him as much as you want, Shawn Michaels has banned him from appearing here on SMACKDOWN tonight. If he knows what is good for him, he’ll take that advice on board.

Cena is not happy with the WWE Universe, it is clear that this has been building for months ...

JOHN CENA: I gave everything I had at Survivor Series, I tried to get the win, I tried to earn the respect of Randy Orton so that I could challenge him for the WWE Championship. But he didn’t respect that. He didn’t respect my loyalty ... And neither did all of you!

Another chant of ‘Cena sucks!’ begins ...

JOHN CENA: SHUT UP! I haven’t forgotten ... I haven’t forgotten Cyber Sunday. WWE Championship, Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett ... and you had the chance to vote for John Cena to be entered in the match as well. All I’ve ever wanted to do here in the WWE is be the WWE Champion ... And you took that away from me. You didn’t vote me into the match and then you cheered for Randy Orton instead.

Cena shakes his head and looks around the arena upset ...

JOHN CENA: You cheered ... for Randy Orton ... instead.

Cena looks disgusted in the ring as he looks around the arena ... The WWE Universe do not appear to be respectful of Cena at all now ...

JOHN CENA: You turned your backs on me that night, you showed me a lack of loyalty and a lack of respect and I ... I am sick of it! I tried to ignore it, I tried to tell myself that my fans were loyal still ... I tried to fight alongside Randy Orton at Survivor Series ... But when Randy Orton refused to accept my apology, when Randy Orton disrespected me, I decided that I had had enough. I am now loyal to just one person ... myself!

The crowd boo Cena once again ...

JOHN CENA: And I will destroy all who get in my path. I will be the World Heavyweight Champion by the end of WrestleMania 27 ...

Another ‘Cena sucks!’ chant begins ...

JOHN CENA: ... and there is nothing that any of you ... there is nothing that any superstar in the SMACKDOWN locker room ... and there is nothing that Randy Orton ... can do about it!

Jeers and boos ring out around the arena, Cena is well and truly turned against the WWE Universe now ...

JOHN CENA: And this week on RAW, it is the WWE Slammy Awards Show for 2010 ... I will be there, I will be there on RAW and I will be seeking out Randy Orton ... I have a proposition for you, Viper, I have a proposition for you that I’m sure you’re going to like ...

Another ‘RKO!’ chant goes up ...

JOHN CENA: ... so I’ll see you this Monday, Orton. Make sure that you turn up ... because ...

*** S.O.S. ***

A loud cheer goes up for the arrival of Kofi Kingston who heads out shaking his head ...

TONY CHIMEL: His opponent, from Ghana, West Africa ... weighing 221 pounds ... KOFI KINGSTON!

Kofi has a microphone in his hand and he doesn’t perform his usual entrance with the pyrotechnics ... Instead, as he heads for the ring, Kofi speaks directly to Cena ...

KOFI KINGSTON: You know, man, I have always respected you. Always. Ever since I arrived here in the WWE, all I wanted to do was emulate John Cena ...

Cena looks nonplussed over the comments of Kingston ...

KOFI KINGSTON: ... but not anymore, Cena. Any respect I had for you is now gone, Cena. And tonight, I am going to show you just how little I respect you now. For the past few months, I have been this close ...

Kofi holds his fingers up ...

KOFI KINGSTON: ... this close to becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. I have been so close but now ... now, I am ready to take the last step, to make believers of people ... I am so close, I need a big win now to make people sit up and take notice ...

JOHN CENA: And let me guess, you think that you’re going to beat me tonight?

Kofi steps through the ropes into the ring and nods his head at Cena ...

KOFI KINGSTON: That’s the plan, Cena, that’s the plan ...

Cena laughs out loud before continuing ...

JOHN CENA: ... Not gonna’ happen, Kofi. You’re not on my level. Tonight, I show the SMACKDOWN locker room that Kofi Kingston is ... simply ... not good enough ...

Kofi looks annoyed and he rips his t-shirt off and throws it to the crowd ...

JOHN CENA vs. KOFI KINGSTON

With both Cena and Kofi now in the ring and prepared for action, the referee signals for the bell and the match is under way. Cena, dressed in his cut off jeans and sneakers, locks up with the brightly attired Kingston and they struggle for superiority for a moment before Kofi wins out with a knee to the gut. Three forearm smashes to the head of Cena stagger him back before Kofi goes to whip Cena across the ring into the corner turnbuckles. However, Cena manages to reverse the move and Kofi smashes back first into the turnbuckles instead. Cena rushes in but Kofi avoids the contact from Cena before springboarding out of the corner and nailing Cena with another hard forearm smash. First cover of the match from Kofi as Cena is down ...

* Cena kicks out easily! *

Kofi attempts to keep the advantage but Cena hits a stiff kick to the gut of the Ghanaian and this halts his progress. Cena takes Kofi down with his right leg and locks in a reverse chinlock to try and grind Kofi Kingston down. Slowing the match down, Cena keeps his arm tight around the chin of Kofi and the referee checks several times to ensure it doesn’t become a choke hold. There is no danger of Kofi tapping out but he realises he needs to get to his feet and out of the hold as soon as he can. As Kofi’s legs begin to fight out, the crowd chant his name ‘Kofi! Kofi’ and this inspires Kingston as he begins to force himself and Cena back to their feet. Cena holds on but Kofi manages to escape as he fires Cena off into the ropes to cheers from the crowd. Cena comes off the ropes and Kofi swings for an back elbow, Cena ducks and hits the opposite ropes and then hits a clothesline to crash Kofi down to the mat. Both men get to their feet quickly and Cena rushes at Kofi once more. Twice, Kofi leaps high over the head of the onrushing Cena as he bounces off the ropes, this time Kofi does connect with a back elbow and Cena is sent down to the mat clutching his face. Kofi immediately whips Cena into the corner and then rushes over with a jumping forearm smash. Cena is a little dazed and he holds the ropes as he staggers away and Kofi takes the chance and hits a big clothesline that sends Cena head over heels over the top rope and crunching down on the mat below whilst the crowd cheer Kofi who is jumping around excitedly in the ring.

Cena is not a happy bunny as he uses the announce table to lift himself up to his feet and he slaps the SMACKDOWN table in frustration before glaring at the announcers Michael Cole and Mick Foley sat behind it. He angrily turns to head back to the ring where the referee is in the early stages of counting him out but he doesn’t spot Kofi coming until the last second, missile dropkick through the ropes by Kofi Kingston and Cena is sent crashing into the announce table shoulder first this time. Kofi takes in the adulation of the fans as they again chant his name over and over before he drags Cena to his feet and rolls him under the bottom rope and into the ring. Kofi follows but Cena is a tough cookie and he catches Kofi coming in with a right hand that halts his momentum. Cena holds back and waits for Kofi to get to his knees before grabbing him and scooping him up, powerslam to Kofi Kingston. Kofi is down on his back and Cena spots a chance to go for his first cover of the night ...

* Kofi kicks out! *

Kofi staggers to the ropes and Cena heads over for him looking menacing. However, Kofi sees him coming and catches Cena with a back body drop that sails Cena up and over the top rope again and he slams down hard on the mats around the outside of the ring to the delight of the fans. Kofi has bought a little time to get his head straight as the referee begins to count Cena out ...

Kofi is ready for Cena as he re-enters the ring though and he clubs the leader of the Cenation, for what it is these days, with forearms to the back and shoulders. Kofi steps back and allows Cena up before knocking him back down with a standing dropkick. Kingston goes for a cover ...

* Cena rolls his shoulder out! *

Cena gets himself up in the corner again and Kofi measures him before rushing over to try and leap on his shoulders. However, Cena knows it is coming and he moves so Kofi ends up stood on the middle rope facing out of the ring. Cena spots his chance and he shoves Kofi forward, face first over the top of the steel ring post and Kofi collides hard with the barricades around the ring to loud gasps and moans from the WWE Universe. Cena chuckles to himself in the ring and then holds his hands up high to the crowd who previously would have cheered loud. Not now though as most fans jeer Cena’s salute although Cena doesn’t seem bothered by this. Kofi is down and out on the outside as the referee’s count threatens to count him out here. Kofi gets to his knees at 5 and starts to slowly creep towards the ring again ... 6 ... Can he make it back in time?

* Kofi just about climbs back in at 9 just in time! *

As Kofi lies in the corner on the mat, Cena shakes his head and walks over towards him telling him ‘You should have stayed down!’ Cena looks determined to make Kofi pay for getting back into the ring and he slams his head into the top turnbuckle before starting to launch big right hands at Kofi. The Ghanaian manages to fight back though and the pair of them trade punches until Cena pulls Kofi by the hair and slams him down back first onto the mat. The referee isn’t impressed with Cena’s actions but he doesn’t look interested in the referee’s view. Kicks rain down onto the stomach and chest of Kofi as Cena confidently keeps his opponent down and is now looking good as he seeks a big win that would put him into title contention here on his new home of SMACKDOWN. Kofi aims a few well placed kicks though to fight back from the mat, he is showing tremendous heart and he gets back to his feet with a spring still in his step. Cena swings for a clothesline, Kofi ducks and Cena hits the ropes. Kofi jumps him the first time and the second time Cena comes towards him ... Shoulder block from Cena! Here we go! Another shoulder block from Cena and whereas before this would have raised huge cheers in the arena, now the arena is filled with boos and jeers as Cena gains momentum. The sitout powerbomb move follows and Cena stands up to a barrage of heat from the crowd as he smiles and holds his hand high in the air. Cena thinks for a moment and then waves his hand over his face at Kofi ... ‘You can’t see me!’ the crowd still chant along but then Cena repeats it whilst looking out at the crowd ... He hits the ropes and drops the Five Knuckle Shuffle to Kingston and the crowd continue to boo the hell out of Cena. Cena heads for the corner and he climbs the ropes ready to hit the Leg Drop to Kofi but as he leaps off looking to drop the leg over the back of Kingston’s head, Kofi dives out of the way and Cena lands on his ass to the delight of the crowd. Kofi goes for a quick surprise roll up ...

* Cena just recovers to kick out in time! *

Both men try to get to their feet at the same time and Kofi – on his knees – launches punches to Cena’s stomach as he fights back further. Both men hit the ropes again and they both go for a cross body at the same time and they collide in mid-air to loud gasps from the crowd. Both men are down and the referee has time to start a countout of the pair. A loud ‘Kofi!’ chant begins in the arena as he starts to fight back up to his feet and the two opponents get to their feet around the same time as the referee’s count reaches 6. Kofi starts to take charge as he hits well placed kicks to the thigh and waist areas of Cena and then he follows this up with fast-paced axe handles that crash Cena down once, twice, a standing drop kick sends him down for a third time. Kofi hooks the leg of Cena for the pinfall ...

* Cena powers out! *

Cens staggers to his feet in the corner and once again, Kofi looks to jump up on his shoulders. This time he succeeds and he delivers a barrage of punches to the head of Cena. With Cena dazed, Kofi readjusts himself and gets his feet on the ropes before delivering a bulldog out of the corner of the ring. Cena’s face crashes down on the mat, Kofi goes for the cover again ...

* Cena kicks out! *

Cena, sensing that he is in trouble here, rolls out of the ring to the outside to the annoyance of Kofi, the referee and the WWE Universe. Kofi climbs the corner ropes once more to the top and he waits for Cena to turn around before jumping high off the ropes ... Diving Cross Body to Cena on the outside! Cena is splatted down onto the floor and Kofi jumps up, pumped up as the fans show their appreciation. Kofi climbs up onto the apron again but not into the ring and he focuses on Cena as he gets slowly to his feet. Kofi runs along the apron and then dives for Cena again with a flying forearm but Cena catches him and drops him down to the floor with a spinebuster instead. One too many big move from Kofi Kingston and the referee begins to count out both superstars as they lay on the floor struggling. The referee reaches 6 and both men head for the ring, inching their way slowly to the apron.

* 9 – Kofi follows just in time! *

The referee is pleased to have both men back in the ring but Cena kicks Kofi stiffly in the mid-section and then tosses him back through the ropes to the outside once more. The referee argues with Cena but he isn’t interested and follows Kofi to the outside. Cena picks his opponent up and uses his shoulder to drive him hard into the side of the ring. Kofi winces in pain but Cena doesn’t stop there and repeats the move a second time before a third shoulder drive into the barricades leaves Kofi down on the floor in a lot of pain. Cena cockily gets to his feet and smirks as he gets abuse from the crowd at ringside and as the referee demands that he brings Kofi back into the ring. Cena picks Kofi up and drags him head first towards the ring but decides not to roll him back inside just yet. He sets up to whip Kingston into the steel ring steps but Kofi reverses the move and instead Cena goes clattering shoulder first into the ringsteps, knocking them loose at ringside. Both men are down on the outside again but this time Kofi is the one who is looking most likely to beat the count back into the ring.

Kofi is stood in the ring with a struggling Cena at his feet and he is the one smiling now. He lifts Cena up and props him in the corner before delivering a huge European uppercut and then setting up for a Russian Leg Sweep. He connects with this and drives Cena’s back into the mat before getting to his feet and signalling for the ‘Boom Drop!’ by running on the spot. The crowd go wild as Kofi comes off the ropes and claps his hands while the crowd chant along ... ‘Boom! Boom! BOOM!’ ... Kofi drops both his legs over the midriff of Cena before hooking the leg and covering ...

* Cena just kicks out in time! *

Kofi is not put off though and he takes a few steps back and begins clapping his hands together ... The crowd chant along with him again, can Kofi Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise here? Cena staggers to his feet and turns, Kofi spins around and swings his foot towards Cena’s head ... Cena ducks and escapes out of the ring again to the disbelief of the crowd who boo loudly at this new change in Cena’s attitude. However, Kofi is focused and he hits the ropes before storming across the ring and he dives through the ropes at Cena! Suicide Dive! Cena smashes back first into the barricades once more and the crowd cheer loud for Kofi now. Kofi drags Cena to his feet and rolls him back into the ring before he climbs the ropes in the corner. From the top rope, Kofi measures his opponent as he gets slowly to his feet ... Missile Drop Kick from Kofi Kingston connects! Kofi with the cover ...

* Cena escapes at the last moment! *

Kofi clutches his head in frustration but he is not to be out-done and he gets to his feet first once more. Dragging Cena up with him, he is caught by surprise when Cena kicks him hard in the stomach. Cena grabs Kofi by the head and takes him to the corner where he drives him shoulder first into the steel ring post. The referee admonishes Cena and threatens to disqualify him if he carries on like that but Cena lets it wash over him secure in the knowledge that he has just bought himself some serious time. Kofi is slumped in the corner clutching his shoulder as Cena recovers before heading over to him once more. Cena once more throws Kofi down on the mat by the hair and he heads for the top rope himself now. This time, Cena connects with the big leg drop to the back of Kofi’s head and Cena – with the boos ringing out – steps back once more ready to hit the Attitude Adjustment. He waits and stalks Kofi as he struggles to his feet. Once he turns, Cena lifts Kofi up onto his shoulders but Kofi realises what danger he is in and he fights hard to escape, elbows connecting with Cena’s head as he wriggles clear ... Stunned a little, Cena swings wildly at Kofi and misses which allows Kofi his chance ... SOS! Kofi Kingston delivers the SOS to John Cena! Surely it is over? Kofi with the cover ...

* 2 *
* NO! Cena kicks out in the nick of time! *

Kofi questions the referee’s count of 2 but the referee indicates that Cena was up just before the 3 and Kofi accepts this. He retreats once more ready for another attempt at the big finish move ... Cena wobbles as he gets to his feet, his legs are clearly weak now but Kofi is still clutching his shoulder from earlier too. Cena turns and Kofi swings around once more ... TROUBLE IN PARADISE CONNECTS! Cena is down and out, Kofi with the cover ...

Kofi celebrates as does the crowd but then we realise that the referee is signalling wildly at Kofi ... Cena’s hand was on the bottom rope, it was only a 2! Kofi cannot believe it and the crowd are disappointed as they realise what is happening. A replay shows that Cena did indeed get his hand on the bottom rope just in time to escape ... Kofi despairs but steels himself for another onslaught to Cena. He goes over towards him but Cena reacts quick as lightning ... ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT! It’s over now for sure! Cena is about to drop down for the pin though when ...

*** VOICES ***

Cena turns around in disbelief and the crowd go nuts as all eyes focus on the stage where Randy Orton should be heading out to the ring. His music and entrance video are playing but there is no sign of Orton at all ... The music stops, the video cuts out and Cena realises that he has been distracted ... He turns round to go after Kofi once more ... TROUBLE IN PARADISE CONNECTS AGAIN! Kofi hits the big kick to Cena, he drags him away from the ropes and hooks the leg ...

WINNER: Kofi Kingston (15:05)

TONY CHIMEL: Here is your winner ... KOFI KINGSTON!

The referee holds Kingston's hand up in the air and he looks delighted with the victory even thought there are a few question marks over the validity of it after Cena was distracted. Either way, Kofi celebrates in the corner and milks the reaction of the crowd for all it is worth, this victory should plunge him right back into the World Championship picture. Cena rolls out of the ring in disbelief and he sits with his back to the ring apron whilst staring out at the stage and titantron area where there is still no sign of Randy Orton. It seems that Cena has been made to look like a fool by Orton who respected the order of RAW General Manager, HBK, by not showing up on SMACKDOWN tonight ...

MICK FOLEY: Kofi Kingston showed tonight that he can live with the best here on SMACKDOWN and in the WWE!

MICHAEL COLE: Oh, come on, John Cena had the match won ...

MICK FOLEY: I never said that he showed he could beat the best, I said he showed he can compete with the best!

MICHAEL COLE: Kofi Kingston didn’t win any respect from me there, Mick, he was beaten and he got lucky!

He strides up the ring steps and into the ring where thousands of flashlights pop as he performs his pose in the corner, his arm held high, his eyebrow arched ... He repeats this in the opposite corner of the ring whilst the crowd go wild with delight to see Rock live in Greensborough and back in the WWE where he belongs ...

JERRY LAWLER: JR ... The Rock ... He’s back!

JIM ROSS: What an ovation for the 9 time WWE Champion!

A loud ‘Rocky!’ chant begins as the music fades and Rock stands centre of the ring with a microphone in his hand ... Rock milks the ovation for a while, listening to the people chant his name and facing each side of the ring to take in the atmosphere ... Finally, Rock seems ready to speak ...

THE ROCK: Can you feel it?

The WWE Universe greet these words as if Rock has just won the WWE Championship for a tenth time! It takes an age for the crowd to settle ...

THE ROCK: Can you smell it?

Again, the reaction of the crowd is crazy as Rock gets into his stride again ...

THE ROCK: Can you see it?

Another ‘Rocky!’ chant goes up and that familiar smile spreads over the face of Rock ...

THE ROCK: For seven years ... seven long years ... Seven years of movies, talk shows, Hollywood ... seven years of ‘Be Cool’ ... ‘Gridiron Gang’ ... ‘The Game Plan’ ... ‘Planet 51’ ... ‘Fast Five’ ...

Dramatic pause from the Rock as he looks around the arena ...

THE ROCK: ... ‘The Tooth Fairy’ ...

Rock chuckles as some of the crowd give fake boos for this role ...

THE ROCK: ... Seven years of film sets, co-stars, fast cars and fairy costumes ... Seven years ...

The anticipation is building in the arena ...

THE ROCK: ... but ... finally ... No, Finally ... No, no, no ... FINALLY ... The Rock ... has come back ... to Greensborough!

The crowd go wild for Rock who continues ...

THE ROCK: ... And Finally, The Rock has come back ... to the WWE!

Another ‘Rocky’ chant goes up and the crowd are ecstatic to see their hero back in the WWE ring ...

THE ROCK: I have been out of the ring for too long, for too long ... I’ve been all around the world, I have become ... the most electrifying man in ALL of entertainment ...

Another loud pop for the Rock ...

THE ROCK: ... but I never forgot ... I never forgot where my home was ... The crowd continue to cheer and chant for The Rock ... (How many ways can I repeat that sentence?!!!)

THE ROCK: So The Rock says this ... The WWE needs a legend ... the WWE needs somebody to mentor on NXT ... Chip Butty asks the Rock to come back, mentor the WWE superstars who have lost their way as only The Rock can ... whippin’ ass, laying the smack down on their candy asses and showing them the way ... If ya smelllllllllllllllllllll-la-la-la-allllll ... WHAT THE ROCK ... IS ...

Rock straightens himself up, removes his sunglasses, raises his eyebrow ready to deliver his famous last words ...

*** LONGHORN ***

Boos ring out around the arena and Rock turns to look at the stage in disbelief where a limosine is pulling into the arena ... Out steps the other NXT Season 3 mentor, JBL, who Rock hit the ‘Rock Bottom’ to last week on his return ... JBL waves his hat around as he approaches the ring with a self satisfied smirk on his face ... He walks up the ring steps and locks eyes with the Rock who is eying him with a sense of amazement ...

JBL: Rock, hold it there. You come out here with all your fancy catchphrases, all your fancy names and monikers ... But there is only one ‘Wrestling God’ out here isn’t there?

The crowd boo as Rock sizes JBL up ...

JBL: You see, for too long, these people have cheered for the wrong people ... They cheer for people like Randy Orton ... John Cena ... John Morrison ... and they cheer for people like you, Rock. People who have walked out on them for seven years. You walk out on them for seven years and then you come back and repeat a few catchphrases ... and like the seals that they are, they all clap along and everything is good with the world again.

JBL is making quite a valid point ...

JBL: What they should be doing is listening to the people who know best, people like the great JBL, the Wrestling God! I am a success in everything that I do, I am a successful businessman as well as a great wrestler. Now I’ll give you credit, Rock, you were good in the ring – ten years ago – but your movies have been ... well, they have been awful, Rock.

Rock looks annoyed with JBL’s comments ...

JBL: Unlike me, you left the WWE and your success it finished. And now, you’re back here for NXT Season 3 and unlike me, you’re back here as a failure with something to prove. There is a problem though ... you won’t beat me. One of my WWE superstars will win NXT Season 3, I’ll do whatever it takes.

Boos and jeers as Rock looks to respond ...

THE ROCK: Bradshaw? Is that you? Where’s Faarooq?

JBL: I got rid of ...

THE ROCK: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHERE FAAROOQ IS!

The crowd roar as Rock puts JBL down ...

THE ROCK: It goes like this, JBL, you are just a jabroni that never got near the level of The Rock. So you held a World Title once, well woopy-doo ... I held nine WWE Championships during my time here. I headlined WrestleMania after WrestleMania after WrestleMania and at WrestleMania 27 in April, Team Bring It will be victorious in NXT Season 3. So you just turn around and don’t you ever ... and the Rock means ever ... interrupt the Great One ... again!

Another put-down from the Rock and more cheers from the WWE Universe ...

JBL: Rock ... Don’t you go thinking that you can make threats to me. You can’t. I won’t forget that Rock Bottom from last week. In fact, I ought to come over there right now ...

THE ROCK: Oh, JBL, trust me, I wish you would come here right now ... so I can take that cowboy hat, polish it up real nice, turn that sombitch sideways and stick it straight up your candy ...

JBL suddenly takes a cheap shot at Rock and knocks him off his feet with a vicious and unexpected right hand ... Rock is livid as JBL makes a quick exit from the ring and is backing away up the ramp as Rock recovers ... JBL reaches the top of the ramp when the NXT theme song begins ...

*** WILD AND YOUNG ***

MATT STRIKER: Guys, guys, calm down please. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am Matt Striker and, along with Josh Matthews, I will be the host and announcer of NXT Season 3!

JBL stares at Striker as he leaves the Rock in the ring ...

MATT STRIKER: Hold up, JBL, hold up, I have an announcement. I have to inform you both of the first superstar that will be joining you on NXT. Both of these men have something to prove and they need to step it up on NXT or run the risk of being fired ...

JBL demands to know who his first WWE superstar will be ...

MATT STRIKER: Calm down, JBL, here he is. The first man to be joining Team JBL for the third season of NXT will be ...

*** EXPLODING HELMETS ***

MATT STRIKER: ... the winner of NXT Season 2 ... KAVAL!

Kaval gets a nice pop from the crowd as he walks out and acknowledges the cheers of the WWE Universe. However, he is met with a less than welcoming look from his new mentor, JBL, who looks at Kaval as if he is disgusted by him ...

MATT STRIKER: So Team JBL has Kaval, who will Team Rock have as their first member? The first member of Team Rock on NXT Season 3 will be ...

*** I AM PERFECTION ***

MATT STRIKER: ... DOLPH ZIGGLER!

Ziggler comes out looking annoyed at the fact he is being forced to fight for his WWE career and walks straight past Striker and straight for the ring ... His new mentor, The Rock, is looking over at him curiously ... Ziggler gets into the ring and points his finger at Rock and then to himself and it is clear that Ziggler believes he is too good for NXT Season 3 ... He talks trash to Rock and suddenly he says something that makes Rock’s eyes bulge ... Rock grabs him and hits the Rock Bottom on Dolph Ziggler this week! The Rock’s music begins and he leaves the ring with Ziggler laid out on the mat ...
MICHAEL COLE: So Dolph Ziggler confirmed on Team Rock for NXT ‘Endangered’ whilst Team JBL’s first confirmed superstar is this man ...

*** EXPLODING HELMETS ***

MICHAEL COLE: ... Kaval, the man who won NXT Season 2 but he will have to fight for survival in the third season of NXT next month!

MICK FOLEY: Kaval is a very talented guy, Cole, don’t be put off by his size, he can hit you from anywhere and he can hit you hard!

MICHAEL COLE: Oh give over, Mick, the guy is three foot six, he has no chance of surviving here in the WWE! He might as well give up now!

MICK FOLEY: I can guarantee you, Cole, that he will not be doing that!

*** DOWN ON YOUR KNEES ***

TONY CHIMEL: This match is set for one fall ... Introducing first, from Brooklyn, New York and weighing 174 pounds ... KAVAL!

Kaval acknowledges the applause of the crowd ...

TONY CHIMEL: And his opponent ... from Perry, Oklahoma ... weighing 263 pounds ... The ‘All American American’ ... JACK SWAGGER!

Swagger drops to a press-up position in the aisle and does three quick push ups before standing up and holding out his arms while the red, white and blue fireworks explode behind him ... He gets into the ring and runs around in a circle with his arms out before standing and looking straight at Kaval ... Swagger looks disgusted and he clearly thinks he is above wrestling against this man ...

JACK SWAGGER vs. KAVAL

Kaval starts out fast and he catches Swagger off guard several times with stiff, quick kicks and high flying moves off the ropes. However, Swagger’s strength allows him to take charge of the contest as he suplexes Kaval several times to get himself on top. Swagger is not impressed by having to face Kaval and he voices his opinion loudly throughout the match. An attempted fightback from Kaval is cut short with a Big Boot from Swagger and he follows this up with a huge corner springshot splash that leaves Kaval clutching his stomach in pain. Swagger hooks the leg ...

Swagger retains control though and he starts to stomp at the knee and lower leg of Kaval as he attempts to set up the Ankle Lock for later. Swagger goes for a Gutwrench Powerbomb next but the little man counters and wriggles clear before hitting several knife edge chops to the chest of Swagger to stagger him back to the corner. Kaval stands on the bottom rope to get level with Swagger and then hits a headbutt to the All American American that staggers him back. Kaval lifts himself to the middle corner buckle and waits for Swagger to turn around before hitting a flying dropkick that sends Swagger down once more ... Cover from Kaval ...

A roundhouse kick meets Swagger as he gets to his knees and leaves him face down on the mat and struggling. Powered by the cheers of the WWE Universe, Kaval climbs to the top rope and he sets up for Ghetto Stomp, a two footed stomp from the top rope. Kaval leaps high in the air and looks to drive his feet into Swagger’s gut but he rolls away just in time. Kaval springboards off the middle ropes and goes for a Shining Wizard kick but Swagger ducks and hits a huge clothesline that nearly breaks Kaval in half ...

* Kaval somehow kicks out! *

Swagger looks extremely frustrated now but he hits a shoulder breaker to Kaval that leaves him flat on his back again in pain. Swagger signals that the match is over and he grabs Kaval’s leg and locks in the Ankle Lock to the dismay of the crowd ... However, Kaval refuses to lay down and he counters with kick to the leg of Swagger to break free from him. With Swagger disorientated, Kaval rolls him up quickly to try and surprise him ...

WINNER: Kaval (5:04)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... KAVAL!

MICHAEL COLE: Wait a minute!

MICK FOLEY: That’s what you get for being cocky, Cole!

MICHAEL COLE: Swagger is furious with that!

Kaval celebrates in the corner and salutes the fans but an extremely annoyed Jack Swagger decides that he isn’t happy with what just happened ... He rushes over and clubs Kaval in his lower back to the jeers of the crowd before dragging him off the ropes and setting up again for the Gutwrench Powerbomb ... this time, Swagger drives Kaval down hard into the mat back first ... The referee tries to order Swagger out of the ring but the ‘All American American’ refuses and he straddles Swagger to pummel him hard over and over in the face before getting to his feet with a roar ... Swagger next grabs his leg once more and he locks in the Ankle Lock to the helpless Kaval ... With the referee trying to stop Swagger unsuccessfully, Kaval can’t last long this time and he begins to frantically tap out ... Kaval is screaming in pain but Swagger refuses to break the hold for at least a minute before the referee finally forces him to break it ...

MICHAEL COLE: Will Kaval even be able to make it to NXT now, Mick?!

MICK FOLEY: You seem to get a kick out of seeing Swagger dismantling Kaval for no reason, Cole ...

MICHAEL COLE: I already told you, Mick, Kaval doesn’t belong here in the WWE, look at him!

MICK FOLEY: He just won the match! And let me remind you, Cole, Jack Swagger is a former World Heavyweight Champion, not some chump!

MICHAEL COLE: Anybody can get lucky, Mick! He caught Swagger by surprise and look at how he paid for it. Jack Swagger destroyed him for it!

The crowd are booing as Swagger is ushered from the ring whilst EMT’s tend to the injured leg and ankle of Kaval who looks to be in a great deal of pain ...

SMACKDOWN returns with Christian in the office of Teddy Long ... The General Manager is still looking incredibly nervous but he trusts Christian and is prepared to speak to him ...

CHRISTIAN: Look Teddy, I’m aware that you have a lot on your mind tonight but I need to speak to you about this whole thing with Matt Hardy and I proving ourselves to you ...

Teddy Long looks at Christian with a look of being a little fed up of this argument between Christian and Matt Hardy ...However, Christian ploughs on ...

CHRISTIAN: What I want to know Teddy is how I can impress you. What could I do to impress you enough to give me a shot at the World Championship?

Long shakes his head at Christian ...

TEDDY LONG: Look, playa, I don’t know ...

A door opens behind Teddy Long and he jumps a mile frightened ... In walks Matt Hardy though and he holds his hand up to the General Manager to show he is no threat ...

MATT HARDY: Calm down, Teddy, it’s only me. I just wanted to come here and echo Christian’s question ...

CHRISTIAN: You do, do you?

MATT HARDY: I do, Christian. I wanna’ know, Teddy, what it is you are looking for from Christian or myself over the next few weeks. How can we impress you?

Christian and Hardy both look at the General Manager expectantly but he shakes his head in frustration ... He is clearly not in the mood to deal with problems like this tonight ... He looks down at his feet ...

TEDDY LONG: Playas, not tonight. I don’t need this. I will make a decision over which one of you has impressed me when I am ready. Not before. As for tonight, you can both go out to the ring now for a match. Tonight, I am teaming you two up to face the former WWE Tag Team Champions Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes ... Now, please, get out of my office. And close the door behind you!

Christian and Hardy looked shocked at the outburst of the General Manager and they leave the office with raised eyebrows to each other ... Teddy Long goes to close and lock the door behind them but there is a knock on the door ...

TEDDY LONG: Wh ... Who ... Who is it?

???: Teddy, it’s Chip Butty ... your boss!

Teddy immediately opens the door and in walks the owner of the WWE, Chip Butty. Butty shakes hands with Teddy Long and the pair of them sit down on the leather couch in the corner of the room ...

TEDDY LONG: Good evening, Chip. How are you?

CHIP BUTTY: Honestly, Teddy? Concerned. What is going on here on SMACKDOWN at the moment?

TEDDY LONG: It’s under control, I’ve got it sorted now. I’ve spoken with Kane and ...

CHIP BUTTY: You’ve sorted things out with Kane, Teddy! Now you’re going to upset every other member of the SMACKDOWN roster instead though.

TEDDY LONG: I don’t really have much choice, playa. Kane has made that perfectly clear ...

CHIP BUTTY: Teddy, I don’t employ you to make one guy happy. I employ you to manage the whole of SMACKDOWN. Teddy, you need to exert your authority on this show!

TEDDY LONG: How can I do that? What am I supposed to do?

CHIP BUTTY: Stand up to Kane. He can’t touch you, Teddy! You’re the General Manager of SMACKDOWN, you are his boss! Stand up to him!

The crowd cheer appreciatively and Teddy Long seems to steel himself up ... He nods his head at Chip Butty and smiles.

TEDDY LONG: You’re right, playa. I’m going to change tonight’s main event and tell Kane that ...

CHIP BUTTY: Teddy, you’ve already promised Kane that he can choose any match he wants tonight and next week on SMACKDOWN as well. I want you to stand up to Kane but you can’t reverse that offer. That is made, you need to live with the consequences of that ...

Long nods his head in agreement again ...

TEDDY LONG: Understood. Kane can choose the match that he wants but he will not intimidate me no more!

CHIP BUTTY: Fantastic, Teddy. I’ll see you around!

Chip Butty and Teddy Long shake hands as the cameras return to ringside ...

MICHAEL COLE: Teddy Long says he is going to stand up to Kane, Mick? I can’t wait to see that!

MICK FOLEY: That’s easier said than done, Cole. But Teddy Long is the General Manager, he is the man who can – if he wants to – fire Kane as well!

*** SMOKE AND MIRRORS ***

MICHAEL COLE: Here comes the former Tag Team Champion, Mick!

Rhodes checks his appearance in the mirror on the stage before heading for the ring and insulting people in the aisle as he does ... Rhodes enters the ring and takes a microphone whilst there are plenty of boos for him ...

MICK FOLEY: No Drew McIntyre heading out with him though, Cole!

MICHAEL COLE: Last week on SMACKDOWN’s big title night, Cody teamed up with his partner Drew McIntyre in their rematch for the Tag Team Championship of Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov. Unfortunately for the former champions, they failed to regain their titles ...

MICK FOLEY: And it seemed that Cody wasn’t best impressed with his partner either ...

MICHAEL COLE: Lets hear what Cody Rhodes has to say about it then ...

Cody Rhodes raises the microphone in the centre of the ring to address the WWE Universe ...

CODY RHODES: Last week on SMACKDOWN, myself and Drew McIntyre failed to win back the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Cheers from the crowd ...

CODY RHODES: Unlike all of you here in South Carolina, I am not willing to accept being a loser. I look like a million dollars and I expect to win matches and win titles ...

Rhodes points at some members of the WWE Universe at ringside ...

CODY RHODES: Whilst all of you are willing to accept your sub-standard lives ... you are willing to accept your ugly visage ... and you are willing to accept being second rate ... I am not. The Tag Team gold that I carried did what little else can ... it made me look even better than I already do.

Cody Rhodes holds his hands out and poses with a beaming smile showing his handsome looks ...

*** BROKEN DREAMS ***

Cody looks round and sees that his partner Drew McIntyre is heading out onto the stage ... Drew is also carrying a microphone and he stands on stage looking at Cody in the ring ... Drew holds his hands up to signal for his music to be cut ...

DREW McINTYRE: Cut my music!

The music fades out ...

DREW McINTYRE: Cody ... Cody ... You’re absolutely right! In recent weeks, I have let you down and I apologise to you. But I guarantee you that tonight, I will make it up to you. Cody, tonight, we will beat Matt Hardy and Christian and show that not only are we the dominant tag team here in the WWE ... but it is you and I who deserve to be the ones challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship in the future months!

Cody nods his head and looks happy with Drew’s explanation as he enters the ring. The pair of them embrace and they look ready to team up again ...

TONY CHIMEL: Ladies and Gentlemen, this tag team contest is set for one fall ... Introducing first, at a combined weight of 479 pounds ... CODY RHODES and DREW McINTYRE!

Cody and Drew raise their hands at the sound of their introduction but the crowd boo them as usual ...

*** LIVE FOR THE MOMENT ***

The crowd cheer loud for Matt Hardy as he comes out looking pumped up and ready for action tonight ... The experienced Matt Hardy knows that he needs something special to impress Teddy Long and to earn a shot at his dream ... the World Heavyweight Championship!

TONY CHIMEL: His partner, from Cameron, North Carolina ...

Cheers for the local-ish Matt Hardy ...

TONY CHIMEL: ... MATT HARDY!

CHRISTIAN & MATT HARDY vs. CODY RHODES & DREW McINTYRE

The tag team chemistry of Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes – a team who have been paired up now for the last four months – shows as they control the majority of the early stages of the contest ... However, Christian and Matt Hardy, despite not being partners, have both had major Tag Team successes in the past with 17 Tag Team Title reigns combined so far in their careers ... Every now and then, Hardy and Christian show moments of tag team magic and this means that neither Drew nor Cody can rest on their laurels here. Drew McIntyre gets into the ring and begins to dominate the match though, determined to impress his partner Cody Rhodes, with Matt Hardy on the end of the beating. Christian, whilst wanting to win the match, doesn’t seem too concerned to see Hardy struggling though as it reflects better on him as he seeks to impress Teddy Long ...

Drew McIntyre drags Matt Hardy up from the canvas and shoots Hardy off into the ropes ... on his return, Drew spins Hardy up and round into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker over his knee. He follows this up with a snap suplex to Matt Hardy and goes for a cover ...

Cody Rhodes throws his arms up in annoyance at Drew nearly getting caught out as Hardy gets to his feet quicker ... As Drew hooks the arms though, Hardy fights out and hits a backdrop suplex to Drew to take charge of the contest. Hardy gets to his feet waiting for Drew to get to his feet when he feels a slap on his shoulder ... Christian has stretched over and tagged himself in! Hardy looks annoyed with his partner as he steps through the ropes but Christian goes straight for Drew. He shoots McIntyre into the ropes and then lifts him up for a Flapjack that crashes Drew down to the mat once more. Christian lifts himself up onto the middle rope before diving over at the Scotsman, grabbing his head and hitting a thunderous Tornado DDT ... The crowd go wild as Christian makes the cover ...

McIntyre is frustrated and he goes to tag in his partner Cody Rhodes ... who refuses to take the tag. Cody shakes his head and he demands that Drew goes and proves himself ... Drew McIntyre grabs Christian once more and starts hitting stiff kicks to the gut of Christian as he lies on the mat ... The referee tries to stop Drew but Matt Hardy makes no effort to come to the aid of his partner now ... As the referee admonishes Drew, Christian gets to his feet slowly and demands to know why Matt Hardy didn’t help him. Christian is attacked from behind by Drew and goes flying through the middle ropes to the outside but Matt Hardy manages to get a blind tag as he does. Hardy attacks Drew to surprise him and then follows it up with a clothesline in the corner. Climbing the ropes a little, Hardy follows the clothesline with a Bulldog down to the mat ... WINNER: Matt Hardy and Christian (10:03)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here are your winners ... MATT HARDY ... and CHRISTIAN!

The referee raises Hardy’s hand but Christian stands outside the ring staring at Hardy ... There is tension in the air now but Christian realises it isn’t worth fighting over right now as he turns, shaking his head and leaves the ring ... Hardy follows trying to justify his actions ...

MICHAEL COLE: Neither one of these men is impressing me, Mick!

MICK FOLEY: They won the match, Cole ... I think Teddy Long needs to make a decision soon so these two can sort their heads out and get on with their careers!

Drew McIntyre is getting to his feet after being beaten whilst his partner Cody Rhodes stands in the ring watching him ... Drew keeps glancing up at Rhodes as he slowly gets up with a pained expression on his face ... Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes stand face to face in the centre of the ring and Cody starts to speak, clearly unhappy and not impressed with what he has just seen ...

MICK FOLEY: If I were Cody Rhodes, I’d think twice before over-reacting here ... He needs to calm down and consider this carefully ...

MICHAEL COLE: What are you talking about, Mick? Cody needs to show Drew what he thinks!

Drew McIntyre is looking sheepish as Cody Rhodes stands over from him ... Cody Rhodes holds back his thoughts and he shakes his head before leaving the ring and Drew McIntyre alone ...

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

PREMIERES AHEAD OF SMACKDOWN, WEEK AFTER VENGEANCE!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

SMACKDOWN returns with footage of Drew McIntyre walking backstage with a look of disappointment on his face after his loss before the break ... He walks round the corner and stood in front of him is his partner, Cody Rhodes ...

CODY RHODES: You know what, Drew? In this business, there are only two types ... Winners ... and Losers.

Drew looks down, still clearly disappointed ...

CODY RHODES: I’m afraid that I can’t let myself be associated with a loser, Drew ... That is what you are right now. Vince McMahon once named you as his ‘chosen one’ but you have started to believe your own hype. At Survivor Series, we lost the Tag Team Championship because you were pinned. Last week on SMACKDOWN, we failed to regain the titles ... because you were pinned once again. And tonight ... you lost again.

The words do not appear to be firing up Drew McIntyre ...

CODY RHODES: I am a winner, Drew. I am the most handsome man in the WWE ... I am the future of the WWE ... You? You are a ... loser. Our tag team ... is over ...

Drew McIntyre looks up as Cody Rhodes leaves him and continues down the corridor ... The cameras return to the ring area ...

MICHAEL COLE: Not even a hint of an argument from Drew McIntyre, Mick ...

MICK FOLEY: The look in Drew’s eyes gave him away, Cole, he was utterly dejected, completely at a loss to explain what has gone wrong ...

MICHAEL COLE: What can he do about it?

MICK FOLEY: He’s got a lot of hard work ahead of him, he’s got to go away and re-think his outlook, his strategy, Drew needs to step up if he is going to be, as he was once known, the ‘Chosen One’ ...

*** CRANK IT UP ***

MICHAEL COLE: Here we go, Mick, main event time!

The Big Show heads out smiling and looking excited about his match tonight as he looks for revenge against the man who took advantage of him last week to win the World Heavyweight Championship in CM Punk ...

TONY CHIMEL: This match is a non-title match and is set for one fall ... Introducing first, from Tampa, Florida and weighing 485 pounds ... THE BIG SHOW!

MICHAEL COLE: Here is the man, Mick, who last week won the World Heavyweight Championship from the Big Red Monster Kane ... only to lose it again moments later against CM Punk!

MICK FOLEY: Indeed it is, Cole, but don’t let those smiles and waves fool you ... The Big Show may be looking happy-go-lucky BUT he definitely isn’t feeling it. Inside, he will be seething over the loss he suffered against Punk last week!

MICHAEL COLE: I don’t see why, he knew he had to defend it in a second match if he won it!

Big Show steps over the top rope and salutes the crowd with a loud roar before his opponent begins to head out ...

*** THIS FIRE BURNS ***

Boos echo around the arena as the World Heavyweight Champion heads out with the title belt fastened around his waist ... Punk drops to his knees on the stage and shouts out that it is ‘clobbering time’ before heading down the ramp to the ring ...

TONY CHIMEL: His opponent ... from Chicago, Illinois, weighing 222 pounds ... he is the World Heavyweight Champion ... C. M. PUNK!

Punk enters the ring and cockily points to the title around his waist and taunts Big Show over it by signalling that he went to sleep last week on SMACKDOWN ... Show reacts angrily but Punk slides out of the ring as he tries to go after him ... With Show demanding that Punk gets back in the ring though ...

*** SLOW CHEMICAL ***

TONY CHIMEL: And finally, the special guest referee for the upcoming contest ... KANE!

Kane marches out as an eerie red light fills the arena ... The Big Red Monster has an evil look in his eyes and he looks prepared to fight rather than to referee the match. The only sign of his referee duties is the black and white shirt that he is wearing over his usual ring attire ... Kane steps over the top rope and stands face to face with the Big Show whilst he signals for the ring posts to explode with red flames and a huge explosion ...

MICHAEL COLE: Why does Kane want these two men to fight with him as the special guest referee? Kane chose this match, thanks to Teddy Long, why did he want this match? There must be a reason!

MICK FOLEY: Who knows, Cole, maybe he just wants these two to beat each other senseless so he can demand a rematch later down the line?

Kane signals for CM Punk to get back in the ring and he points at his WWE badge on his referee shirt ... Punk gets back into the ring and he hands his title belt over to the ring announcer rather than to the referee Kane ...

MICHAEL COLE: This huge match is set to start ... next!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

NON-TITLE MATCH: BIG SHOW vs. CM PUNK (Special Referee: KANE)

CM Punk and Big Show are ready to fight as Kane signals that it is time for the match to begin ... The bell rings and Punk and Show lock up. Show throws CM Punk down hard in the corner and the World Champion looks a little worried as he looks back up at Show and then over to the referee, Kane ... Show is now getting in the face of Kane again and he is pointing a finger at the former champion ... Punk takes advantage and he hits several Muay Thai kicks to the legs and ribs of the World’s Largest Athlete ... Punk forces Show back into the corner and then attempts to whip Show across the ring to the opposite corner ... Show counters and it is Punk that slams back first into the turnbuckles with a crash ... Show rushes over to try and squash Punk in the corner but the champion moves at the last second and Show hits the buckles instead ... Punk rushes over and hits a high knee in the corner before attempting to take the big man down with a Bulldog ... However, he cannot drive Show down and he is thrown across the ring where he lands on his tailbone on the mat ...

Show stalks after Punk now and he grabs him by the throat ... Punk panics as Show looks to hit a chokeslam and he uses his elbow to escape from Show but it is only temporary as Show catches him coming in and lifts him up high ... It looks as if Show is going to hit a Powerbomb but he falls back and drops Punk down on his face instead ... Alley-Oop! Punk lands hard on his front and Big Show goes to make the cover ... but Kane refuses to make a count ... Big Show gets back up and demands that Kane explain himself but Kane refuses and stands staring at Show instead ... Show is angry and he swings a punch at Kane who ducks and retaliates with a punch of his own ... Show staggers and Punk hits a drop kick that sends him down to the mat ... Punk climbs the ropes and stands on top of the ropes before flying over and dropping a big elbow into the chest of Big Show ... Punk goes for the cover ...

* 1 * * 2 * * 3 *

WINNER: CM Punk (2:24)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... C. M. PUNK!

MICK FOLEY: Wait a minute, that wasn’t fair!

Kane laughs as he gets to his feet and raises the hand of CM Punk ... Big Show gets up incensed at the quick count of Kane and he goes straight after the Big Red Machine ... Kane and Big Show begin slugging it out in the centre of the ring but the World Champion CM Punk grabs his World Championship title belt ... and he helps Kane out by driving it into the back of the Big Show. Big Show drops to his knees and Punk hits a Muay Thai kick to the side of Show’s head as Kane stands by laughing ... They stand back and allow Show to get slowly to his feet before Kane locks his hand around the throat of Big Show ... a huge CHOKE SLAM! The crowd are jeering loud as CM Punk and Kane stand over the body of Big Show ... Punk and Kane are not finished yet though ... They begin to drag Show back to his feet with evil intentions clear as the WWE Universe boo with much confusion in the air ...

MICK FOLEY: What is going on? Surely Kane is just as annoyed with Punk being the World Champion as he is with Show beating him for it in the first place?

MICHAEL COLE: You know what they are doing, Mick, they are going to take out Big Show and then they’ll fight each other later ... Much better to get rid of the Giant now!

Kane holds Big Show so that he cannot defend himself as Punk lines up a shot to the face with his World Championship belt ... The crowd are desperate for Show to fight back but he isn’t showing no sign of it ...

The crowd cheer as Kofi Kingston, the man who defeated John Cena earlier tonight in a great match, heads for the ring looking fired up ... He slides into the ring and takes out CM Punk before he can strike Big Show in the face and then Big Show begins to fight back against Kane ... Kane and Big Show in one corner, Punk and Kofi Kingston in the other ... Four men brawling away ...

*** MACMILITANT ***

TEDDY LONG: Hold it there, playas ... Hold it right there!

Kane smiles as Teddy Long walks out onto the stage and he looks knowingly over at Big Show as he waits for Teddy Long to continue ... it is clear that Kane knows what Teddy Long is about to say ...

TEDDY LONG: Playas, hold it right now. Last week, Big Show defeated Kane for the World Championship. But then, he lost that title to CM Punk. According to the contracts held with the WWE, any former champion is entitled to one rematch when they lose a title. Therefore, Kane and Big Show, you both have World Championship rematches to come in the next thirty days ...

Kane nods his head but continues looking at Big Show with a knowing smile ...

TEDDY LONG: Now, Kane, you might have abducted me last week and told me what you wanted me to do ... But I am out here to let you know, Kane ... that I’m ... that I’m not going to do it!

The crowd go wild as Kane looks apoplectic with rage ... he begins shouting at Teddy Long from the ring as Long looks on nervously ...

TEDDY LONG: Kane, I am your boss and you will do what I say! If you lay one more finger on me, Kane, there is only one way that you will be heading ...

Kane is furious as he listens to what the General Manager has to say ...

TEDDY LONG: ... and that’s the exit! Holla!

The crowd erupt all around the arena as Teddy Long smiles again but Kane is staring at him menacingly from the ring ... the four men in the ring have now stopped brawling as they listen to the General Manager ...

TEDDY LONG: Now, in nine days, the WWE will be stopping in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the Vengeance pay-per-view and as yet, SMACKDOWN doesn’t have any matches planned ... so let me go ahead and make one right now ...

CM Punk senses what is coming and he looks up expectantly ...

TEDDY LONG: CM Punk, you will be defending that World Heavyweight Championship of yours ... and seeing as both Kane and Big Show are entitled to a rematch ... we are going to have a Triple Threat match ... Big Show ... against Kane ... against the World Champion, CM Punk ...

The crowd cheer and Big Show nods his head in appreciation of the match that the General Manager just made ... However, Kane remains looking angry over the decision as it is obviously not what he had planned with Teddy Long when he dragged him off last week ... CM Punk also looks upset that his first title defence is going to be against two of the most dominant men to ever set foot in the WWE ... The camera focuses on Teddy Long’s smiling face once more as he surveys the ring. Suddenly, Long’s eyes light up a little and he gets a thoughtful look on his face before continuing ...

TEDDY LONG: In fact, playas ... to hell with it, let’s make it a Fatal Four Way and include ... Kofi Kingston!

Kofi looks shocked in the ring but Big Show high fives him over the decision whilst CM Punk starts shouting over at Teddy Long as well ... Kane exits the ring and he begins to walk up the ramp towards Teddy Long ... However, Long has now got the better of the Big Red Monster ...

TEDDY LONG: Hold it right there, Kane. Remember what I told you ... If you lay one finger on me, playa, I will fire your ass on the spot right now!

The crowd cheer again as Kane stops in his tracks and the General Manager’s music plays once more ... Teddy Long waves to the WWE Universe and exits the stage as SMACKDOWN begins to wind up ...

MICHAEL COLE: A huge announcement from Teddy Long ... at Vengeance, we will have a Fatal Four Way match for the World Heavyweight Championship ... champion CM Punk defends against the two former champions, Kane and Big Show, as well as Kofi Kingston who has been red hot of late ...

MICK FOLEY: Teddy Long has certainly stood up to Teddy Long, Cole, but will he live to regret it? What will Kane do in revenge for this decision?

MICHAEL COLE: We’ll find out next week, Mick, remember to join us on Monday Night RAW for the 2010 Slammy Awards!

SMACKDOWN closes out with CM Punk stood in the ring facing Big Show and Kofi Kingston with the World Heavyweight Championship belt held high before the camera focuses once more on a fuming Kane who looks furious with the decision of the General Manager ...

MONDAY NIGHT RAW!
Live from Atlanta, Georgia

*** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO ***

RAW is on the air as the fans go wild with gold lights flying around the arena to show that tonight’s RAW is a little different from normal ... At the side of the ring are tonight’s broadcast team at the announce table, JR and King ...

JIM ROSS: Tonight, we celebrate the year of 2010 in the WWE as Monday Night RAW hosts the annual Slammy Awards show tonight with me, Jim Ross, and my broadcast colleague, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler!

JERRY LAWLER: And with just six days to go until the final pay-per-view of the year, JR, RAW is set to be incredibly intense as the superstars of RAW and SMACKDOWN prepare for Vengeance!

JIM ROSS: True, King, in six days time, we will be in Fort Lauderdale for the Vengeance pay-per-view where Wade Barrett will be defending the WWE Championship against the returning ‘American Hero’ ... Kurt Angle!

JERRY LAWLER: It was a dream return last week for Kurt, what will he have to say this week before the title match on Sunday?

JIM ROSS: Tonight, Kurt Angle will be coming out to present one of the Slammy Awards so we hope to hear from him about his return later on!

JERRY LAWLER: Kurt Angle prefers to let his actions in the ring do his ...

???: Can I have your attention please?

The cameras switch to the stage where Michael Cole is stood holding a microphone with a huge smile on his face and the WWE Universe immediately start jeering and booing ... Cole’s return to RAW tonight is not a popular one it seems ...

MICHAEL COLE: I said ... Can I have your attention please?

More boos for Cole but he continues on ...

MICHAEL COLE: Ladies and Gentlemen, I am here tonight to introduce the WWE Slammy Awards of 2010. 2010 has been a year of shocks, entertainment and emotional moments ... particularly myself, the Voice of the WWE, getting cut from this show ...

Cheers this time from the WWE Universe ...

MICHAEL COLE: Without further ado then, let’s get on with the award of the first Slammy Award of the night. And here to present the award is ... the former 8-time WWE Womens Champion ... TRISH STRATUS!

*** TIME TO ROCK AND ROLL ***

Huge pop in the Atlanta arena as the popular WWE Diva heads out looking ultra sexy as usual and carrying a little gold statue – the Slammy Award ... She salutes the crowd before heading over to the right hand side of the stage where Michael Cole is waiting with a huge smile on his face. As Trish approaches him, Cole goes for a hug for some reason ... Trish eyes him quizzically for a second before dodging past him to the delight of the crowd ... She stands at the WWE Slammy Award stand and prepares to speak into the microphone set up there ...

TRISH STRATUS: Hello, WWE Universe! Hello, Atlanta!

Huge cheer from the WWE Universe with plenty of wolf whistles as well ... Trish continues ...

TRISH STRATUS: Is it really four years since I last appeared in the WWE? Wow! Anyway ... I am here to present the Slammy Award for the ‘WWE Diva of the Year’ for 2010! Obviously, if I had been here still, it would have been me ...

More cheers from the crowd and Trish grins ...

TRISH STRATUS: ... but since I’m not, let’s see which WWE Divas are in the running to be ‘Diva of the Year’ ...

A video plays showing the entertainment provided this year by three WWE Divas: Eve Torres, Layla and Michelle McCool. Much of McCool and Layla’s actions are based on their time together as Laycool whilst the improvements being made by Eve Torres are highlighted as she has been showing that she is not just a pretty face but also a Divas Champion ...

TRISH STRATUS: So ... Who is the winner? Let’s find ...

MICHAEL COLE: Hold it, Trish, hold it. Let me ask you a question ... Who cares about who the ‘Diva of the Year’ actually is? Nobody in this arena cares about the Divas ... They’re just something pretty to look at!

Boos for the so called ‘Voice of the WWE’ as he trashes the Divas once more ... Trish looks shocked for a moment before retorting ...

TRISH STRATUS: You know what, Michael Cole? I think I know what your problem is with the WWE Divas ... I think you know that if you were to set foot in the ring with any of the WWE Divas, they would whip your ass in less than five minutes! Now shut up and let me announce the winner!

The crowd react positively to the claim that Cole would get beaten up by any of the WWE Divas if he were to get in the ring with one as Cole slinks back looking sheepish ...

TRISH STRATUS: Now that he has been shut up, let’s find out the winner of the Slammy Award!

Trish holds up a gold envelope and opens it before reading from the inside of the card ...

TRISH STRATUS: And the winner of the 2010 ‘Diva of the Year’ Slammy Award is ...

*** NOT ENOUGH FOR ME ***

TRISH STRATUS: ... MICHELLE McCOOL!

Out walks out Michelle McCool with a look of annoyance on her face as she heads over towards Trish ... Trish hands her the Slammy Award and Michelle McCool snatches it from her which causes Trish to look confused at McCool ...

MICHELLE McCOOL: Listen to me, Trash Stratus ...

Boos echo in the arena as Trish reacts negatively to her name being changed ... She is clearly wanting to know what McCool’s problem with her is ...

MICHELLE McCOOL: I don’t care how long you’ve been away from the WWE, it isn’t long enough. And as for you coming out here and saying that if you had been here, you would have won this award ...

Michelle McCool holds the Slammy Award up into Trish’s face ...

MICHELLE McCOOL: ... all you would have got if you were still here in the WWE is a beating from Michelle McCool!

Trish Stratus looks at McCool with a smirk on her face ...

TRISH STRATUS: Oh yeah?

McCool nods her head at Trish to confirm her thoughts ... Trish chuckles and then responds ...

TRISH STRATUS: That’s worth remembering, that is, Michelle. Maybe one day, I’ll come back and let you try!

The crowd cheer once more and a chant of ‘Come back Trish!’ begins in the arena ...

TRISH STRATUS: Congratulations on your award!

Trish Stratus walks off the stage to cheers and waves to the watching WWE Universe as she leaves ... However, Michelle McCool is not finished yet ...

MICHELLE McCOOL: There was only one WWE Diva in 2010 that deserved this award. It wasn’t Eve Torres and it sure as hell wasn’t that ungrateful Layla ... Since Survivor Series, I have been transferred from SMACKDOWN to RAW and I will be making my debut here next Monday.

The crowd boo although there are some cheers for the returning McCool ...

MICHELLE McCOOL: And I promise you all that it won’t be long before I am back where I belong ... back as the WWE Divas Champion. WWE Divas ... you have all been warned!

McCool turns on her heels and – still clutching her Slammy Award – struts out of the arena to jeers from the WWE Universe as her music plays through the arena. As she disappears, the cameras switch to the locker room where Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson are stood together wearing their yellow and black Nexus t-shirts ... Of course, the WWE Championship belt is draped over the shoulder of Barrett who is speaking to Jackson about his forthcoming match ...

WADE BARRETT: ... and give him the beating he deserves. I want him weakened before Sunday, I want him struggling to move ... Prove yourself to the Nexus tonight, Zeke, this is your first big assignment. Go out there and show these morons in Atlanta what their ‘American Hero’ really is ...

EZEKIEL JACKSON: Don’t worry about it, Wade, I am going out there tonight to prove myself to the world. If Kurt Angle thinks that he is going to be at Vengeance this Sunday, he needs to think again. He won’t even survive tonight!

Big Zeke walks out of the locker room and Barrett smiles contently as he readjusts the WWE Championship on his shoulder ...

JIM ROSS: Ezekiel Jackson goes one on one with the Number 1 contender to the WWE Championship ... Kurt Angle! And that match ... is next!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

*** WE ARE ONE ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: This match is set for one fall. Introducing first, from Guyana, South America ... representing the Nexus ... EZEKIEL JACKSON!

The newest member of the Nexus heads out to jeers but is not interested as he makes his way towards the ring ... Rolling into the ring, Jackson pulls off his Nexus t-shirt in preparation for the match before menacingly bulging his biceps which look like bowling balls ...

*** MEDAL ***

The crowd cheer the returning Olympian Kurt Angle as he heads out onto the stage with his red, white and blue singlet on and his gold medals around his huge neck. He stops halfway down the ramp as the crowd affectionately chant ‘You Suck!’ in tune to his theme song ... Angle holds his hands up high and red, white and blue fireworks explode behind him ... Angle jogs up the ring steps and steps through the ropes to a huge reception from the WWE Universe who are delighted to see him back here in the WWE ...

JUSTIN ROBERTS: His opponent, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ... weighing 240 pounds ... KURT ANGLE!

JIM ROSS: This match could be very, very interesting, King!

JERRY LAWLER: It could, JR! It is very important that Kurt Angle gets this match over quickly though, he has a huge match to come this Sunday!

EZEKIEL JACKSON vs. KURT ANGLE

The power of Ezekiel Jackson shows early as he takes control and goes to work on Angle by hitting numerous heavy hitting moves. However, Kurt Angle is the master of wrestling and he is able to counter the power of Big Zeke and take him down to the mat where he is less effective. Angle almost locks in the Ankle Lock several times but each time Jackson escapes and after a while, the usual Nexus tactic kicks in as Heath Slater, Skip Sheffield and David Otunga arrive on the scene. Otunga distracts the referee while Skip Sheffield catches Angle unaware with a hard hitting clothesline before Heath Slater drops a leg over Angle from the top rope. Angle looks as if he is about to head into the WWE Championship match this Sunday on the back of a defeat but he kicks out of Jackson’s pinfall and survives to continue the match further ...

However, Jackson is now in charge and he squashes Angle into the corner on two occasions before a huge clothesline takes the Olympian down once more. A cover from Ezekiel Jackson follows ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Kick out from Angle! *

Ezekiel Jackson gets to his feet and stands back as he waits for Angle to get back to his feet ... As he does, Jackson scoops him up and hits the first of a series of powerslams. Three more powerslams follow and Kurt is looking weakened as Jackson signals that the match is over as he looks to lock Angle in the Torture Rack. Lifting the American Hero up onto his shoulder, Jackson goes to lock in the submission hold but Angle wriggles clear and hits a big German Suplex to surprise Jackson ...

* Jackson kicks out! *

Both men get to their feet but it is Angle who gets the advantage as he hits a Lariat Clothesline before clutching Zeke and tossing him over in a belly to back suplex throw. Jackson hits his leg on the rope and clutches it in pain as Angle goes for a cover ...

* 2 *
* Jackson kicks out! *

Once again, Nexus look to interfere and distract as Heath Slater jumps up on the apron and once again the referee’s attention is taken. Big Zeke hits a stiff kick to a distracted Angle to send him down once more. With the referee not looking, Otunga slides in a steel chair that Jackson grabs and he stands up ready to swing for Angle. Angle is in real trouble here as Zeke waits for him to get to his feet ... Up Angle gets, turns to face Jackson, the referee still distracted ... Big Zeke swings the chair at Angle but the American Hero ducks the chair and catches Ezekiel Jackson with the Angle Slam! Otunga jumps onto the apron and Angle hits him hard to send him crashing to the outside ... Sheffield enters the ring and grabs Angle but he misses with a short arm clothesline and Angle hits a belly to back suplex to send Skip under the bottom rope and down on the outside ... Heath Slater jumps through the ropes and past the referee but Angle ducks his punch ... Angle Slam to Slater as well! A pumped up Kurt Angle pulls down the straps of his attire now and the crowd cheer loud as Angle looks serious ... Jackson is up but wobbling and Angle hits a German Suplex ... he follows this by holding on to the suplex and following it with another German ... and another! Angle hits a fourth and final German Suplex, this time releasing Jackson so he flies back and crashes hard on his back and shoulders ... Ankle Lock! Kurt Angle locks in the Ankle Lock and Jackson squirms and writhes in pain ... Nexus are all down and there is nobody to help him out ...

WINNER: Kurt Angle (8:32)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner via a submission ... KURT ANGLE!

The four Nexus members group together in the ring once more but Angle wisely rolls out of the ring and backs away up the ramp as the referee raises his hand in victory. The crowd cheer Angle as he heads up the ramp and out of the arena ... The camera switches to a shot of Wade Barrett who is watching a TV with the title over his shoulder ... He shakes his head with a grimace and doesn’t look a happy bunny over what went down out in the ring ... The camera then changes once more to the SMACKDOWN General Manager Teddy Long who is smiling and laughing as he walks along the corridor ... He looks to have lifted a load off his shoulder last Friday night and he walks into the General Manager office where he shakes hands with the RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels and the owner of the WWE, Chip Butty ...

JIM ROSS: Just six days before Vengeance, King, SMACKDOWN General Manager Teddy Long is here for the Slammy Awards and he looks a lot happier than he did last week!

JERRY LAWLER: He does, JR, but what a win there for Kurt Angle ahead of Vengeance!

JIM ROSS: Kurt Angle picking up a hell of a lot of ...

MICHAEL COLE: OK, it is time for the second Slammy Award of the night if we can get JR to shut up for a minute ... The next award has a real legend, a man who deserves his place in the WWE Hall of Fame, here to present it ... Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome ... THE ‘MILLION DOLLAR MAN’ TED DiBIASE!

*** MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! ***

Out walks the WWE legend Ted DiBiase Senior onto the stage in his usual smart suit waving to the WWE Universe ... He walks over to the Slammy Award stand and prepares to address the WWE Universe who have given him a good reception ...

TED DIBIASE SR: Atlanta, Georgia ... I am here to present the second Slammy Award of the night and it is the award for ‘Tag Team of the Year’ ... but before I get to that, I would like to speak about something precious to me ... my son, Ted DiBiase, Junior!

A few boos echo around the arena for the unpopular son of the Million Dollar Man ...

TED DIBIASE SR: He is following in his old man’s footsteps and this Sunday, he is going to win his first ever singles title in the WWE when he defeats Daniel Bryan and Justin Gabriel to win the United States Championship.

A ‘Daniel Bryan!’ chant begins and it is clear that the WWE Universe aren’t wanting the younger son of the WWE Legend to win the US Title this Sunday ...

TED DIBIASE SR: Oh, he will, he will. On Sunday, my son will take his first steps towards becoming the main man here in the WWE. Just like his old man ... That is a fact, you can take it to the bank!

DiBiase laughs his trademark laugh as the crowd boo his words ...

TED DIBIASE SR: Now, let’s get to the award for ‘Tag Team of the Year’ ...

A quick video package shows the contenders for the Tag Team award tonight: first of all, the high flying Hart Dynasty team are shown before the ‘ShowMiz’ team from earlier in the year are shown next. The video ends with the former Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre ...

TED DIBIASE SR: And the winners of the Slammy Award for the 2010 ‘Tag Team of the Year’ are ... DREW McINTYRE AND CODY RHODES!

Boos around the arena once more before the music of Cody hits ...

*** SMOKE AND MIRRORS ***

Slowly, Cody Rhodes walks out onto the stage where he checks his appearance in the mirror before heading over to the stand. He shakes the hand of the Million Dollar Man and takes the Slammy from him before heading over to the microphone ...

CODY RHODES: The ‘Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase ... One half of one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history, Money Incorporated. And do you know why he was in one of the great tag teams? Because he had a reliable partner in Irwin R. Schyster ...

Rhodes is clearly still brooding over the loss of the Tag Team Championship recently which he blamed on his partner, Drew McIntyre ...

CODY RHODES: Now I am here to accept this award for the ‘WWE Tag Team of the Year’ but my partner, Drew McIntyre, is not. He messaged me earlier to tell me that he was sorry, that he knew he had let me down ... and that if we won the award tonight, it should be me who came out to accept it ...

Some boos for Cody, a few people seem to be sympathising with Drew!

CODY RHODES: Now, Drew says he will be here on RAW tonight and that he has a plan in mind to earn my respect. He says that tonight he is here to begin the long road back to being the ‘Chosen One’ ... I hope he can earn my respect but it is time for me to move on. I have been the Tag Team Champion, I have won this Slammy Award ... now it is time for Cody Rhodes to become a great singles competitor as well.

Some applause in the arena from his fans for Cody’s new intentions but plenty of boos as well ...

CODY RHODES: I am going to be responsible for my own destiny now, I am the most handsome and most talented young superstar on SMACKDOWN and it is time for me to shine. Not many people from this state go on to shine but Cody Rhodes will do just that and raise the profile of Georgia ... I will give you somebody in your meaningless lives to look up to ...

Boos around the arena as Cody insults his own state of Georgia ...

CODY RHODES: And next time I am in this state, at WrestleMania 27 ... Expect to see me with more gold than just this Slammy Award!

‘Smoke and Mirrors’ plays as Cody smiles a beaming smile at the WWE Universe, takes his Slammy Award and heads back off the stage shaking hands with the ‘Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase once more as he does ...

JIM ROSS: Big words there from Cody Rhodes, King, can he live up to them?

JERRY LAWLER: Promising to come back to Georgia with title gold by the time WrestleMania 27 arrives? Big promise there from Cody Rhodes!

THIS SUNDAY! LIVE ON PPV!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

*** POWER ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: This match is set for one fall. Introducing first, from Cape Town, South Africa ... weighing 223 pounds ... JUSTIN GABRIEL!

Out walks Gabriel to a positive reaction after his altercations with Ted DiBiase last week ... He looks determined as he heads for the ring as he slaps a few hands of the WWE Universe as he gets closer to the ring ...

JIM ROSS: Well, we heard from the ‘Million Dollar Man’ before the break when he declared that his son Ted DiBiase would be winning the United States Championship this Sunday in a Triple Threat ... Well, here comes one of his opponents!

JERRY LAWLER: This young man has impressed me so much recently, JR! He could cause a surprise this Sunday and walk out of Fort Lauderdale as the new United States Champion!

JIM ROSS: No doubt about it, King, the 450 Splash could beat any guy here in the WWE ... Just ask John Cena and Randy Orton!

*** RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: And his opponent, from Aberdeen, Washington and weighing 192 pounds ... He is the United States Champion ... DANIEL BRYAN!

Daniel Bryan comes skipping out towards the ring saluting his fans at ringside as he does ... He heads into the ring and jumps up onto the ropes to salute them again ...

JIM ROSS: And here is the man who will be defending that title, King!

JERRY LAWLER: The man at a disadvantage because he doesn’t have to be pinned to lose his title as well ...

JIM ROSS: That’s true, King, the champion’s advantage doesn’t exist in a Triple Threat match ...

NON-TITLE MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN vs. JUSTIN GABRIEL

The match starts off with both men slapping hands with each other to show their respect but after that the gloves are off as both men look to get the momentum ahead of the US Championship match on Sunday. They lock up and try to wrestle each other down to the mat with both men efficient in countering their opponent as they try to take each other down. In the end, Gabriel takes Bryan down with an Arm Drag and locks in a rear chin lock to force the US Champion down to the mat. Daniel Bryan counters this hold though and manages to lock Gabriel’s arm behind his back and the South African is forced to reach out and grab the rope to break the hold. The referee tells Bryan to break and he does with the WWE Universe showing their appreciation for the mat wrestling so far. Bryan hits a kick to the waist of Gabriel as they are both back to their feet and then follows it with several more kicks to the thigh and arms. Gabriel drops to his knees and Bryan hits a Roundhouse Kick to the side of the head of the South African that takes him down before Bryan locks in a Heel Lock to Gabriel that makes him writhe in pain. Gabriel desperately tries to make his way towards the ropes as Bryan looks to force a quick submission ... Can he make it to the ropes? Yes, he can, Gabriel hooks the bottom rope with his other foot and again the break is forced by the referee ...

Both men get to their feet once more and they lock up once more, this time it is Gabriel who breaks out with a German suplex that catches Bryan by surprise. As Bryan gets to his feet, Gabriel hits the ropes and rushes at his opponent, twisting himself around Bryan’s shoulders before hitting a Tilt-a-whirl DDT to the US Champion. With Bryan down and out, Gabriel hooks the leg and goes for the first cover of the match ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Kick out from Bryan! *

Justin Gabriel jumps quickly to his feet and waits for Bryan to get back up before hitting a combination of his own kicks to the thighs and chest of Daniel. Gabriel has Bryan down on his knees and looking weary as he winds up once more to hit a big roundhouse kick ... Bryan ducks it and catches Gabriel off guard with a snap suplex before staggering into the corner of the ring. As Gabriel gets up to his feet, Bryan runs over from his corner and lifts his leg up high as he jumps to hit a Leg Lariat. With Gabriel down, Bryan takes his chance to go for his first pinfall of the match ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Gabriel kicks out! *

Now Justin Gabriel is the one who staggers up and falls onto the ropes in the corner. This gives Bryan a chance to rush over towards the South African looking for a running dropkick to the chest but Gabriel moves out of the way ... Bryan’s body collides with the top two turnbuckles and then he falls to the mat in the corner landing roughly on his head. The crowd gasp at this but then Bryan gets back to his feet as Gabriel recovers too. Gabriel goes for a forearm smash to Daniel Bryan who also ducks, both men hit the ropes before ducking each other again at breakneck speed ... Both men go for a running crossbody at the same time and they collide in the middle of the ring, both men are down ... The referee begins to count them both out as they lay struggling on the mat ...

JIM ROSS: Wait a minute, what is he doing here, King?

JERRY LAWLER: I don’t know, JR, maybe he wants to watch the end of this match?

Ted DiBiase slides into the ring and the referee demands that he leaves as he is forced to stop his count. DiBiase surveys the situation and then leaves the ring and grabs the United States Championship belt of Daniel Bryan from the timekeeper at ringside. He slides back into the ring and ignores the protestations of the referee as Daniel Bryan gets slowly to his feet ... BAM! DiBiase smashes Bryan in the small of the back with the title belt and the referee immediately signals for the bell to end the match. DiBiase doesn’t seem interested though and as the bell rings and the match ends, DiBiase drives the title belt into the back of Justin Gabriel as well ...

WINNER: NO CONTEST (5:28)

JIM ROSS: Wait a minute, King! What the hell was that all about?

JERRY LAWLER: It’s pretty clear to me, JR, DiBiase is trying to send a message to the men he faces this Sunday! The advantage goes to Ted DiBiase!

JIM ROSS: In my opinion, King, there was no need for it. No need at all, damnit!

DiBiase throws the title belt down and looks around at the WWE Universe with a smile on his face. He points at himself and then signals that he will be the new United States Champion this Sunday before following the advice of the referee and leaving the ring with both Daniel Bryan and Justin Gabriel, his opponents on Sunday, laid writhing in pain and clutching their backs ... The camera follows DiBiase as he leaves the ring for a moment before switching to the interview pit where Josh Mathews is waiting with a microphone ...

JOSH MATHEWS: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time ... the holder of the ‘Money in the Bank’ briefcase ... THE MIZ!

Boos and whistles ring out around the arena as The Miz comes into shot looking cocky as his apprentice, Alex Riley, stands behind him holding the red ‘Money in the Bank’ briefcase in his hand ...

JOSH MATHEWS: Miz, last week you missed out on becoming the Number 1 contender for the WWE Championship at Vengeance this weekend. With no match scheduled for the pay-per-view, what are you plans now?

Miz looks at Josh Mathews with a look of disgust in his eyes ... He contemplates for a second and then chuckles out loud ...

THE MIZ: I might have lost the chance to go for the WWE Championship at Vengeance, Josh, but you seem to be forgetting something ...

Miz reaches round and takes the red briefcase from Alex Riley behind him ... He holds it up as he speaks to Josh Matthews ...

THE MIZ: ... This! I have this ‘Money in the Bank’ briefcase and – if I want to – I can insert myself into the WWE Championship match at any moment I choose. I could go out there right now and call out Wade Barrett if I wanted to. It doesn’t matter when and where I get my shot at the WWE Championship, all that matters is that when I do get it, I will become the W – W – E Champion ...

Miz looks round at Riley who agrees with him out loud ... Smirking once more, Miz continues ...

THE MIZ: Last week, that ‘coward’ Kurt Angle eliminated me from the Number 1 contender match ... He will pay for that decision, that is a guarantee, Josh ... And if he wins the WWE Championship this Sunday at Vengeance, then I will be out there to cash in my contract and take it straight from him ... Because I’m ... The ... Miz ... And I’m ... What the hell do you want?

Miz’ expression turns to annoyance as we see John Morrison enter the interview area with a huge smile on his face ... He laughs at Miz as he removes his sunglasses ...

JOHN MORRISON: Miz, Miz, Miz ... You’re not awesome, my friend. You’re awful! And you proved that once and for all last week when yet again you lost when it mattered ...

THE MIZ: Just like when I won this, yeah?

Again, the briefcase is held up by Miz as an answer to the verbal attack from John Morrison ...

JOHN MORRISON: Miz, you climbed a ladder and got lucky to win that. Everybody knows it. But last week when you had to fight for your place in a WWE Championship match, you failed – again. And all this after you’d criticised my chances of becoming WWE Champion!

THE MIZ: Listen to Janetty talk, Riley. Doesn’t he sound the tough man? Listen to me, I am the future WWE Champion, not you. I will use the ‘Money in the Bank’ contract to win the title when I am ready and then I will go on and defend that title over and over and over. I am the most must-see WWE superstar of all time while you ... you’re just the Miz’ old partner. That’ll be your claim to fame for the rest of your career!

Morrison steps forward and stares into the eyes of his former partner and the tension between the two is clear ... Riley is prepared in case Morrison goes for Miz but before anything can happen, a voice calls out from off camera ...

???: Hold it there, guys, hold it there!

Miz and Morrison turn to face the speaker and into the shot walks the RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels to cheers from the WWE Universe watching outside in the arena ... Michaels stands between Miz and Morrison and ushers them back a little to ease the tension between the two ...

SHAWN MICHAELS: You know what, fellas? I’m getting a little sick and tired of this arguing between you two now so I think I should do something about it. So tonight, the main event will see you, Miz, go one on one ... with John Morrison!

Loud cheers from the WWE Universe as Morrison smiles ... However, Miz seems a little frustrated at HBK’s decision as he shakes his head ... HBK ushers them both in separate directions ...

SHAWN MICHAELS: Now both of you run along and get ready for your match later ...

The camera switches back to the stage where Michael Cole is waiting at the Slammy Award stand with a microphone in his hand ...

MICHAEL COLE: Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time for the next Slammy Award of the night and it will be the ‘WWE Match of the Year’ for 2010. Here to present the award is a WWE hall of famer who had many ‘Match of the Year’ candidates during his illustrious career ... BRET ‘THE HITMAN’ HART!

The crowd go wild for the return of the WWE Hall of Fame legend as the pink and black lights flash around the arena ...

*** RETURN THE HITMAN ***

Bret Hart heads out in his leather jacket and shades with his hands out as the crowd cheer him. He walks over to the left hand side of the stage first and salutes the crowd before heading over to the right hand side of the stage where the Slammy Award stand is positioned to salute the crowd on that side as well ... Bret then heads for the stand and the music fades out ...

BRET HART: Thank you, what an honour it is to be back here in the WWE tonight to present this award. The ‘Match of the Year’ award is a real honour to receive and there have been several contenders for the award ... So shall we find out who has won the award?

The crowd are desperate to know which match has been designated as the ‘Match of the Year’ and they cheer Bret Hart as he begins to open the envelope ...

BRET HART: The 2010 ‘WWE Match of the Year’ is ...

Tension in the arena as Bret reads the card in the envelope ...

BRET HART: ... The winner is ... Sheamus vs. Triple H, 3 Stages of Hell, Survivor Series!

The crowd cheer to show their appreciation for the efforts of those two men in that match at Survivor Series in the last pay-per-view offering from the WWE last month ... As Bret nods his head in appreciation, the music of one of the competitors starts ...

*** WRITTEN IN MY FACE ***

Out walks the ‘Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus with his little accomplice Hornswoggle running around in front of him as he heads out. Sheamus approaches Bret Hart at the Slammy Award stand and he snatches the trophy from the WWE Hall of Famer and refuses to shake his hand. Bret looks annoyed but he allows Sheamus to take the award before standing back to listen to what Sheamus has to say ...

SHEAMUS: You just stand back there, fella, while ‘oy tell all these people a few home truths.

Bret Hart raises his eyebrows as the crowd jeer Sheamus’ comments ...

SHEAMUS: Finally, ‘oy am gettin’ the recognition that ‘oy deserve. For the past two W-W-E pay-per-views, ‘oy have beaten Triple H in an Ambulance Match and then in Triple H’s own speciality match, t’ree Stages o’ Hell. And still, the RAW General Manager fails to recognise that ‘oy am the most dominant man here in the W-W-E.

Sheamus looks down and shakes his head clearly unhappy about this ...

SHEAMUS: Now, Shawn Michaels, ‘oy know dat you and Hunter are some kinda’ best friends but ‘oy reckon that you should be impartial. Last week, Triple H disrespected me by t’reatening me and making sure that ‘oy was counted out of the Number 1 contender match. What do ‘oy have to do to get me some respect round here?

A loud ‘HBK!’ chant goes up in the arena and Sheamus smirks to himself before continuing ...

SHEAMUS: Now ‘oy want you ... No, ‘oy am demanding dat you take action against Triple H for his actions last week on RAW. And if you don’t, fella ... well, let’s just say dat’ you wouldn’t wanna make an enemy outta’ me.

Sheamus’ music restarts as he walks down the ramp towards the ring carrying the Slammy Award ... He enters the ring and prepares for action ...

JIM ROSS: Sheamus goes one on one with Tyson Kidd, next, on RAW!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

RAW returns with Tyson Kidd in the ring as well, the introductions have been made and he is prepared for his match with Sheamus. There is no sign of Natalya and David Hart-Smith at ringside but, after the disrespectful comments from Sheamus before, Bret Hart has accompanied Tyson to the ring for the match ...

JIM ROSS: Bret Hart is in the corner of Tyson Kidd this evening, King, with Kidd the last graduate from the fabled Hart Family Dungeon back in Calgary.

JERRY LAWLER: Even with Bret in his corner, JR, Tyson Kidd needs to hit something quick here if he is to pull off a shock!

SHEAMUS vs. TYSON KIDD

Kidd surprises Sheamus several times early on in the contest as he uses his speed and agility to take Sheamus down. However, the size and power of Sheamus comes more and more into play as he grinds down the high-flying Kidd and takes him down to the mat more often. Bret Hart doesn’t get involved but he does offer encouragement to Kidd as he tries to pull off the upset but it is looking less and less likely as Sheamus continues to beat down on Kidd. Sheamus hits a short arm clothesline to Kidd after wearing him down with an arm bar before going for the pinfall ...

Kidd begins to inch his way towards Bret at the ropes and stretches out looking to grab the bottom rope rather than giving up. Sheamus suddenly decides to release Kidd from the Camel Clutch to take issue with Bret Hart and he stands at the ropes looking down at the WWE Legend with a look of annoyance in his eyes. Bret, as ever, will not have anybody try to talk him down and he responds with some stiff words for the Celtic Warrior as well as Kidd recovers behind ... However, Hitman doesn’t need to as Tyson Kidd suddenly jumps onto the top rope and somersaults into a Plancha that takes Sheamus down on the outside. The crowd are going wild here for the super display that Kidd is showing as Bret slaps him on the back and urges him on. Head exposed as he come back through the ropes and his eye focused on Bret Hart, Sheamus never sees Kidd coming off the ropes again as he hits a running dropkick that leaves Sheamus hanging over the middle rope. On his knees on the edge of the apron with his upper body hanging over the rope, Sheamus is in perfect position and Kidd goes to the outside of the ring and climbs to the top rope. He deliberates for a moment and then goes for a leg drop to the back of Sheamus’ shoulders and back, hits it perfect ... WINNER: Sheamus (7:21)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... SHEAMUS!

Sheamus’ theme rings out as he shakes his head to recover, he couldn’t have expected Kidd to put up that much of a fight tonight. Sheamus looks frustrated with himself over letting Kidd get in so much offence ... As Kidd gets to his feet, Bret Hart applauds from the outside as he beckons Kidd over to him. The WWE Universe follow suit as Sheamus eyes Kidd with a strange look in his eye – is that respect? No! Sheamus suddenly rushes over and hits another Brogue Kick to the side of the head of Tyson Kidd and the WWE Universe boo and jeer their heads off at Sheamus’ dastardly actions. Bret Hart climbs onto the apron to complain at Sheamus but the Celtic Warrior ignores him and drags Kidd up to his feet. Kidd has jelly legs as Sheamus hits the Irish Curse backbreaker across his knee and Bret Hart has had enough. Into the ring comes the legendary Hitman and he starts pummelling away at Sheamus to stop him ... Sheamus covers up at first but then shoves Hitman away ... BROGUE KICK! Sheamus takes Bret Hart down with another vicious Brogue Kick ... The WWE Universe boo and show their feelings for Sheamus’ actions but he doesn’t care ... He drags Hart to his feet and signals for the High Cross ...

JIM ROSS: No, don’t do this Sheamus! For gawds sake, he is a Hall of Famer!

JERRY LAWLER: I agree, JR, Sheamus needs stopping ...

*** TIME TO PLAY THE GAME ***

Triple H comes down to the ring holding a sledgehammer and he slides into the ring to deny Sheamus chance to hit the High Cross to Bret Hart. The Celtic Warrior wisely moves out of the way and he exits the ring and backs away up the ramp as Triple H glares at him from the ring. Hunter signals for a microphone and is handed one by the timekeeper ...

TRIPLE H: You think that you’re pretty tough nowadays, hey, Sheamus? Two wins over Triple H and you think you’re the big dog here on RAW, yeah?

Sheamus nods his head and thumps his chest as Triple H continues to stare after him ...

TRIPLE H: Let me tell you something, Sheamus. The whole world saw what happened at Cyber Sunday and Survivor Series. You’re not the big dog here on RAW ... That little troll that follows you around is the guy that beat Triple H twice in a row. He’s the one who hit me with a steel pipe when I had you beat in the Ambulance Match. He’s the one who messed with the table during the ‘3 Stages of Hell’ match and then hits me in the head with a steel pipe again as I was about to exit the cage. I’ve had you beat every time and that troll has saved your skin every time.

Sheamus is shaking his head at Hunter’s words and isn’t letting them bother him at all ...

TRIPLE H: So here’s the deal, Sheamus. Let’s end this once and for all. You and me, one on one, Vengeance ... Last ... Man ... Standing!

The WWE Universe go wild with excitement, they would love to see that match. However, Sheamus doesn’t appear to keen. He is shaking his head at Triple H and telling him that he has nothing to prove to him no more ...

TRIPLE H: Just as I thought, Sheamus. Not such a big dog after all, are you?

Sheamus refuses to be drawn in and he waves his hand at Triple H to show his lack of consideration for the match ... He turns to walk away up the ramp and onto the stage when BAM! SWEET CHIN MUSIC FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER!

The crowd go wild as HBK stands over Sheamus with a look of pleasure on his face ... He drags Sheamus to his feet and runs him back to the ring where he rolls him under the ropes and into the ring. HBK takes the microphone from Triple H ...

SHAWN MICHAELS: Man, that felt good!

The WWE Universe cheer loudly as Sheamus gets slowly to his knees and faces HBK in the ring ...

SHAWN MICHAELS: I’m sick and tired of your actions recently Sheamus so this Sunday ... Vengeance ... it will be you against Hunter ... Last Man Standing!

The WWE Universe roar in appreciation, Triple H smiles ... But HBK isn’t finished ...

SHAWN MICHAELS: And that little troll that Hunter was referring to before, Hornswoggle ... He is banned from ringside ... He is banned from under the ring ... In fact, he is banned from Fort Lauderdale just to be on the safe side ... If he interferes in the match in any way, shape or form, Sheamus ... you will be suspended for six months!

The crowd go crazy once more as HBK smiles at the Celtic Warrior who looks ready to explode as he kneels up facing HBK ...

SHAWN MICHAELS: But what kind of General Manager would I be if there wasn’t anything in it for you, Sheamus?

HBK looks around the arena as he considers what will be in it for Sheamus ...

SHAWN MICHAELS: So, Sheamus, the winner of the match will become the Number 1 contender for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble event next month! And if you’re not down with that, we got TWO WORDS FOR YA ...

The crowd shout ‘Suck it!’ as Michaels gets right into the face of a furious Sheamus ... Suddenly, Triple H pulls Sheamus round, kicks him in the gut ... PEDIGREE! TRIPLE H HITS THE PEDIGREE!

JERRY LAWLER: Wait a minute, JR, the General Manager of RAW can’t treat one of his roster like that, can he?

JIM ROSS: It seems like he can, King, HBK with a huge announcement tonight. Vengeance, this Sunday, Last Man Standing, Sheamus against Triple H, Hornswoggle barred from the event and the winner goes to the Royal Rumble as the Number 1 contender for the WWE Championship! Oh my!

Triple H and Shawn Michaels are making their way up the ramp as they re-unite, for one night only, with D-X running amock on Monday Night RAW!

*** HOT ROD ***

MICHAEL COLE: To present the next Slammy Award, please welcome ... ROWDY RODDY PIPER!

The crowd are on their feet as another WWE Legend makes his way out onto the stage to present the next Slammy Award ... Hot Rod makes his way out wearing his usual leather jacket and kilt combo as he heads for the Slammy Award stand. He stands at the award stand with an envelope in his hand ...

RODDY PIPER: Wow! Oh yes, how cool is this? You know ...

Piper is interrupted by a loud chant of ‘Roddy!’ from the respectful WWE Universe here in Atlanta tonight ...

RODDY PIPER: ... Thanks for that. You know, over the years, I’ve seen a lot of guys come, I’ve seen a lot of guys go and I’ve seen a whole lotta’ guys who worked their butts off and never got their shot, their chance to shine.

Piper smiles as he speaks about his past in the WWE ...

RODDY PIPER: One of the biggest regrets of my life is that I never managed to win the big title, I never managed to win the WWE Championship in my career. I came this close but I never quite made it. But I saw a lot of guys who did make it and to do it, they all had to go through me at some point. Can you remember WrestleMania 8?

Piper nods his head as he thinks back to that time ...

RODDY PIPER: At WrestleMania 8, I had the greatest match in my entire career. I lost that match that night against Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart ... but you know what? I was so proud that night because I knew that I had just wrestled one of the future great wrestlers in this business. I knew that I had single handedly stole the show and gave one guy the perfect springboard to a career at the top.

Applause rings out around the arena ...

RODDY PIPER: And that is why I am here tonight. I am here to present the award for the ‘WWE Breakout Star of 2010’ which is an award for the guy who had made the breakthrough, a guy who has broken out and has made his move to the top ... The winner of this award is a guy that this Sunday will become the new World Heavyweight Champion for the first ... time ... ever ...

The crowd get to their feet as they realise who Hot Rod is talking about ...

RODDY PIPER: Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to present the award for the ‘WWE Breakout Star of 2010’ to ... KOFI KINGSTON!

*** S. O. S. ***

Kofi Kingston comes bounding out onto the stage and he embraces Rowdy Roddy Piper who gives him a ‘pep talk’ on the stage as he presents him with the Slammy trophy. Kofi audibly assures Hot Rod that he will give it everything he has this Sunday and the two of them acknowledge the WWE Universe with Hot Rod continuing to display his belief that Kingston will be the World Champion this Sunday at Vengeance ...

*** THIS FIRE BURNS ***

Kingston and Piper turn around to see the World Heavyweight Champion C.M. Punk heading out with the World Championship belt around his waist ... Punk is sarcastically applauding as he steps out onto the stage and he wipes an imaginary tear from his eye as he approaches the pair of them ... Kofi ushers Hot Rod back trying to keep the WWE Legend out of harm’s way after witnessing the actions of Sheamus towards Bret Hart earlier in the evening ...

CM PUNK: Don’t worry yourself, Kofi, I’ve no intention of attacking Hot Rod ... Rowdy Roddy Piper ... a legend here in the WWE ...

Piper doesn’t trust Punk and tells him so whilst the WWE Universe cheer Punk’s comments about Hot Rod ...

CM PUNK: I’m just here to let you know that, Hot Rod, however much I respect you for what you did in there ...

Punk points to the ring ...

CM PUNK: I don’t respect you for what you have to say, I never have and I never will.

Boos for CM Punk as he focuses on Hot Rod ...

CM PUNK: You see, I can’t recall you speaking any sense since about 1985, Piper ... and even then, I think it was by accident. Kofi Kingston will not win MY World Heavyweight Championship this Sunday ...

Piper is adamant that Kofi will win it ... Punk smirks at him ...

CM PUNK: He won’t win it, Piper, let me tell you why. He’s already had four chances to win the World Championship over the past few months and he has failed every time. Kofi is just one of those guys that never quite makes it, he’s one of those guys that comes up short every time and blames everybody else around him. He is just one of those guys that puts up a brave effort and thinks that is OK ... The fans love you, Kofi, keep doing what you’re doing ... But be prepared to keep ... falling ... short!

Kofi is deliberating Punk’s choice of words and it seems as if Punk might have struck a nerve here with Kingston ...

RODDY PIPER: CM Punk, in the past, you might have been right but not this time. This Sunday, while you are preoccupied with Kane and the Big Show ... Kofi will sneak in under the radar ... and become the World Champion. Whether you think it or not ...

CM PUNK: Oh yeah ... Oh yeah, just because Roddy Piper says it is so, that is how it is gonna’ be?

The WWE Universe cheer and show that they agree with Piper ...

CM PUNK: No way, not a chance. Roddy Piper, nobody respects your opinion any more ... old man. You’re just another past it WWE Hall of Famer ... somebody who is always chasing one last sniff, one last experience ... one more taste of the limelight ... You’ll do anything to get it. Present a Slammy Award? Cheer for a Number 1 contender. Wrestle Jerry Lawler in the main event of the WORST pay-per-view in WWE history ...

The crowd boo Punk’s comments ...

JERRY LAWLER: What?!!

CM PUNK: King of the Ring 1994 for those of you who wanna’ YouTube it ... I’d warn against it though. You’ll do whatever it takes for another slice of the cake, won’t you? And the less chance you get, the more you descend into a world of depression and memories of what you once were, you drink alcohol more and more, you take painkillers just so that you can get through the next hour with no pain ...

The WWE Universe are getting upset with Punk’s treatment of Hot Rod who is stood there taking it now ... Maybe he has hit a nerve with him too?

CM PUNK: Face it, old man, you are a shadow of your former self, you are worthless now, you are nothing, nothing I tell ...

Kofi finally snaps and he hits the ‘Trouble in Paradise’ kick to the side of Punk’s head and sends him crashing down to the steel floor on the stage ... Kofi picks up the microphone that Punk was using ...

KOFI KINGSTON: Too far, man, too far. Roddy Piper is twice the man that you will ever be ... Tonight on RAW, the Big Show and I are going to beat you and Kane senseless ...

Cheers for the fired up Kofi from the WWE Universe ...

KOFI KINGSTON: And then at Vengeance this Sunday ... I am going to beat you, Kane and Big Show and I am going to win the World Heavyweight Championship ... And when I do, Rowdy Roddy Piper is invited to SMACKDOWN to celebrate with me the following week!

The crowd roar as Kofi throws the microphone down beside Punk who is sitting up now and he watches Kofi and Hot Rod leave the stage, both of them waving to the WWE Universe and Kofi clutching his Slammy Award in his hand as he goes ...

JIM ROSS: Could CM Punk have just made the biggest mistake of his career, King, and fired up Kofi Kingston?

JERRY LAWLER: He may have done just that, JR, I want to see Kofi annihilate Punk after those comments! What was wrong with King of the Ring 1994, JR?

JIM ROSS: Err, moving on ... Next up, folks, the WWE Tag Team Championships are on the line ... Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, a.k.a. the Major Broskis have been on a roll lately ... Tonight, they challenge the champions Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov for the Tag Team Championship. Can they do it?

The camera switches to backstage where Cody Rhodes, with his Slammy Award in his hand, is walking down the corridor. He turns into the locker room where his former partner Drew McIntyre is stood ...

CODY RHODES: So what is this big announcement, Drew? How are you going to start impressing me again?

McIntyre looks up at Rhodes and there is a fierce determination in his eyes ... He does not speak to Rhodes but he does look at the Slammy Award in Cody’s hand ...

DREW McINTYRE: Wait and see, Cody. Tonight, Drew McIntyre begins to get his career right back on track. Just wait ... and see.

The two men continue to look at each other as the camera leaves the locker room and returns to the ring ...

JUSTIN ROBERTS: This match is set for one fall and it is for the WWE Tag Team Championships! Introducing first, at a combined weight of450 pounds ... ZACK RYDER ... CURT HAWKINS ... THE MAJOR BROSKIS!

Ryder and Hawkins head out towards the ring to mild heat although there are some fans of the team in the arena thanks to Ryder’s growing presence on the internet through social media. They slide into the ring and both climb the ropes in the corner ...

*** LA VITORIA E MIA ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Their opponents, weighing a combined total of 529 pounds ... they are the WWE Tag Team Champions ... SANTINO MARELLA AND VLADIMIR KOZLOV!

The champions come out with Santino goofing around as usual – to a great reception as usual – and Kozlov looking serious and focused on the match. They enter the ring and the referee takes their title belts from them and holds them up high to show that they are up for grabs in this match tonight ...

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: VLADIMIR KOZLOV & SANTINO MARELLA (c) vs. MAJOR BROSKIS

An even contest comes to life around the 4:00 mark as Santino Marella, who had been taking some punishment for the last couple of minutes from the pairing of Ryder and Hawkins, used his splits move to avoid a clothesline from Hawkins and used a Spin Kick to take him down. As Curt heads over to make the tag to Zack Ryder, this gives Santino opportunity to tag in the Russian Kozlov who heads into the ring like a bull in a china shop. He almost takes Zack Ryder’s head off with a vicious clothesline before a big boot to the face of Curt Hawkins sends him up and over the top rope and to the outside. Kozlov’s attention heads back to the Long Island Iced Z, Zack Ryder, and he traps him up before unleashing a set of evil headbutts to the chest and leaving Ryder struggling to stay standing. Another big boot from Kozlov, this time to Ryder, here is the pinfall ...

* 2 *
* Hawkins drags Kozlov out with the leg! *

The referee protests but Hawkins carries on and he slams Kozlov back into the barricades hard before rolling him back under the ropes and into the ring. A stunned Kozlov gets to his feet slowly as Ryder waits behind him, dancing from foot to foot, ready to hit something big here ... Kozlov gets to his feet and turns around and Ryder goes for the ‘Rough Ryder’ but Kozlov manages to throw him off and away ... straight into the path of Santino who is setting up for the Cobra ... Ryder walks straight into it and Santino, to the delight of the WWE Universe, hits the Cobra to the face of Ryder ... The referee orders Santino out of the ring as Kozlov makes the cover on Ryder ... The referee ushers Santino out of the ring and then turns around to see the cover ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Ryder kicks out! *

The crowd can’t believe it and neither can Santino! He complains to the referee but then Curt Hawkins pulls his foot from under him and Santino stumbles off the apron ... Hawkins is waiting for Santino now and as the Italian runs over at him, Curt catches him and hits a spinning spinebuster on the outside of the ring. Kozlov, who has just dragged Ryder to his feet, drops Ryder and goes over towards Hawkins who leaps onto the apron and pulls the Russian down head first onto the top rope ... The choke over the rope staggers Kozlov backwards into the centre of the ring ... ROUGH RYDER! Zack Ryder hits the ‘Rough Ryder’ to the big Russian and then tags in Curt Hawkins who has leapt back onto the apron for the tag ... Hawkins climbs the buckles in the corner of the ring, onto the top rope ... HEAT SEEKING ELBOW! Hawkins hooks the leg ...

*** MEDAL ***

The crowd go wild as Kurt Angle heads out onto the stage with a huge beaming smile on his face ... The American Olympic Hero stands at the top of the ramp dressed in jeans and a shirt tonight as he is not scheduled to compete but he does have his Olympic gold medals draped around his neck ... He holds his hands up and points to the sky and the red, white and blue fireworks explode behind him as he looks around the arena before heading back over to the Slammy Award stand on the stage ... He heads over and collects a microphone as Michael Cole introduces him to the WWE Universe ...

MICHAEL COLE: Here to present the next Slammy Award ... The American Hero ... KURT ANGLE!

The crowd cheer loud as Angle holds his hand up in appreciation of their support and the WWE Universe begin to chant ‘Welcome back!’ to him ... Angle looks delighted to be back home in the WWE and he prepares to address the WWE Universe for the first time in over four years since his 2006 departure ...

KURT ANGLE: Ladies and Gentlemen, your Olympic Hero, Kurt Angle, has returned to the WWE!

The cheers in the arena show Kurt how happy the WWE Universe are to have him back and he smiles once more ...

KURT ANGLE: Now, I do have a Slammy Award to present in a moment ... but before I do, let me address the WWE Championship match this Sunday at Vengeance ...

Angle looks round as the crowd cheer once more ...

KURT ANGLE: This Sunday at WWE Vengeance, Wade Barrett will defend the WWE Championship against ... me, the American Hero, Kurt Angle! Now I am delighted to be back here in the WWE, ever since I left in 2006, I have watched guys who weren’t fit to lace my boots holding the WWE Championship, guys who couldn’t hold a candle to me with the World Heavyweight Championship ...

Angle shakes his head before continuing ...

KURT ANGLE: But then, at Survivor Series, I saw something that shocked me. I saw Wade Barrett become the WWE Champion ... without even winning a match!

Boos ring out around the arena ...

KURT ANGLE: Justin Gabriel pinned the team-mate of the WWE Champion and ... and Wade Barrett got the WWE Championship? How the hell does that work? To be WWE Champion, I thought that you had to show guts, determination, perseverance ... So I decided that I had to come back to the WWE to remind everybody of exactly what a champion really should be ...

Cheers for Angle who is pumped up and ready to prove to the world that Wade Barrett is not deserving of the title ...

KURT ANGLE: So when the RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels offered me the chance to come back to the WWE and be part of the RAW roster with a shot at earning a place in the WWE Championship match this Sunday at Vengeance ... I had to take it. I came back and I won the Number 1 contenders Elimination Match and earned the right to challenge for the WWE Championship against Wade Barrett this Sunday!

The crowd cheer once more and Angle seems to be intent on winning the title this Sunday ...

KURT ANGLE: Wade Barrett, the WWE Champion against the American Olympic Hero, your very own Kurt Angle ... And I promise that I will give every drop of sweat and blood that I have in my body this Sunday to win the match, to win that WWE Championship and restore it back to the glory it deserves ...

More cheers from the WWE Universe who are on Angle’s side heading into the pay-per-view this Sunday ...

KURT ANGLE: Now, I reckon that my return last week was pretty special but I am here now to present the Slammy Award for the ‘WWE Comeback of the Year’ for 2010 ... Let’s see who is in contention for the award ...

A video is played showing three big returns this year on the titantron ... It begins in January 2010 at the Royal Rumble with Edge’s return to win the Royal Rumble and earn himself a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 26 ... This is followed by Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart returning to Monday Night RAW in the spring as the new General Manager of RAW ... Finally, the return of the Undertaker at Summerslam in the casket when he had been injured on Memorial Day by his brother Kane ... The cameras return to Kurt Angle who looks impressed ...

KURT ANGLE: All fantastic returns ... although not as good as mine last week!

The crowd cheer in agreement ...

KURT ANGLE: But let’s find out who the winner of the Slammy Award will be ... The winner of the ‘WWE Comeback of the Year’ for 2010 is ...

Silence in the arena as Angle makes them wait ...

KURT ANGLE: The winner is ... EGDE at the 2010 Royal Rumble!

There are some boos in the arena after the actions of Edge in recent months ...

KURT ANGLE: Now, as you all know, General Manager Shawn Michaels suspended Edge at the Survivor Series ... So he cannot be here tonight to accept the award ... However, the WWE did catch up with him earlier today at home in Toronto ...

Eyes turn to the big screen where the face of Edge appears on the titantron ...

EDGE: Spear!

The crowd join in with Edge’s ‘Spear!’ chant ...

EDGE: Spear! Spear! Spear, spear, spear! Wow, how lame was that? For a few short months, I sucked up to all of you, chanting ‘Spear!’ just to hear you chant along with me ... Looking back, it makes me sick to see how far I was willing to go to get your support ...

Boos and jeers for Edge’s comments ...

EDGE: You know, Shawn Michaels suspended me at Survivor Series for refusing to lead Team RAW to victory ... Well, I have a question for him. What did I have to gain from leading RAW to a win? Nothing, that is what I had to gain. If we had won, RAW would have taken another star from SMACKDOWN, another guy for Shawn to favour in front of me. I did what was right for one person, Edge, the Rated R Superstar ...

Edge smirks on the big screen ...

EDGE: I won this Slammy Award for my comeback at the Royal Rumble ... but in six days time, my suspension is over and I am cleared to return to the WWE at Vengeance. And I will be there in Fort Lauderdale ... I will be back ...

Some cheers for the return of Edge but plenty of boos as well ...

EDGE: ... And when I return, I will be having words with the RAW General Manager about his actions and about the way he treats me ... When I return, HBK better watch his step ... I’ll see you all on Sunday!

‘Metalingus’ echoes around the arena as Edge continues to smile and smirk on the titantron ...

JIM ROSS: Things could get very interesting this Sunday, King, when the Rated R Superstar, Edge, returns to confront the General Manager!

JERRY LAWLER: You saw what HBK did this evening to Sheamus, he isn’t scared to get involved. There could be fireworks when Edge returns to RAW!

The camera switches to the interview pit where a nervous looking Josh Mathews is stood with the former World Heavyweight Champion, Kane, who is looking angry after the events at the conclusion of SMACKDOWN last Friday ...

JOSH MATHEWS: Kane, on Friday night, we heard the owner of the WWE, Chip Butty, demand that SMACKDOWN General Manager Teddy Long stand up to you ... and he did just that as he made a Fatal Four Way Match between yourself, World Champion CM Punk, Kofi Kingston and the Big Show at Vengeance ...

Kane grabs the microphone from Mathews and roughly shoves the interviewer away ... Josh Mathews is not waiting round to find out what Kane has to say and he leaves Kane to speak to the WWE Universe ...

KANE: On Friday night, Teddy Long made the biggest mistake of his life. Instead of making the match that I told him to make, he made a Fatal Four Way match for the World Championship at Vengeance ... Teddy Long, you will regret the day you ever ‘stood up’ to the Devil’s Favourite Demon ...

There are boos ringing out in the arena ...

KANE: You see, Teddy Long, you forgot that you promised me any match that I wanted to make on SMACKDOWN last week and next week. Last week, I forced CM Punk and the Big Show to face each other with me as the special referee so that I could take out the Big Show ... And this week, I have another very special match in mind ...

The crowd are pouring down the heat on Kane now ...

KANE: ... On SMACKDOWN this week, it will be a Street Fight ... Kane ... against ... Teddy Long!

Kane throws down the microphone and he laughs out loud as RAW heads into another commercial break ...

RAW returns with a sombre looking Jim Ross and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler sat at the announce table ... A replay of Kane’s sinister statement from before the break is replayed, on SMACKDOWN this week, it will be Kane against Teddy Long ... in a Street Fight!

JERRY LAWLER: JR, someone has to stop this, Chip Butty cannot allow this to happen!

JIM ROSS: I hope something stops it, King, Teddy Long does not deserve to be in this situation, he works hard as the General Manager of SMACKDOWN and he does a good job ... He is NOT a wrestler and he certainly shouldn’t have to participate in a Street Fight against Kane!

*** LONGHORN ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome ... one of the WWE Legend Mentors for the new series of NXT ... JBL!

JBL’s limosine pulls into the arena and when the driver lets him out of the back of the limo, JBL is all smiles as he steps out wearing an expensive looking suit as well as his traditional cowboy hat as well ... As usual, JBL expects the WWE Universe to be happy to see him but they’re not as the boos and the jeers show ... JBL makes his way into the ring where he waves to the crowd as if they love him ... He then makes his way out of the ring and takes a seat alongside Jim Ross and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler ...

JIM ROSS: Well, it looks like JBL is joining us here at ringside, King ...

JERRY LAWLER: What a treat that will be, King! Welcome, JBL!

JBL: You know, I heard that you guys needed a little bit of help out here so the Wrestling God decided to come down and grace you with his presence ...

JIM ROSS: JBL, last week, you found out the name of your first WWE superstar for the third series of NXT ... What are your thoughts of having Kaval as your first guy on Team JBL?

JBL: My thoughts on Kaval? I’m not happy about it, I’ve lodged an official complaint about it ... I am a ‘Wrestling God’ and I shouldn’t have to put up with sub-standard people on Team JBL. I’m out here right now for this next match though, I am here to see who I get as my second Team JBL guy ... Let’s face it, it can’t get any worse that Kaval can it?

JIM ROSS: Well, I don’t know if I agree with that, JBL but nevertheless, this next match will feature the next two WWE superstars who will be appearing on NXT Series 3 ... The winner of the match will get to choose whether he will be on Team JBL ... or Team Rock. The loser will end up on the other team ...

JBL: Shut your face, Ross, let’s find out who the two guys are ...

JERRY LAWLER: Risky move though, JR, five of the eight participants on NXT will be fired from the WWE!

JBL: I doubt that Drew McIntyre has anything to worry about, two of guys who will be fired are already decided ... Chavo Guerrero and Kaval, how are they going to survive?

Drew McIntyre stands in the ring and he points up high as he looks determined to show that he is getting back on track starting tonight with a victory over Chavo Guerrero ...

JUSTIN ROBERTS: And from Ayr, Scotland ... weighing 256 pounds ... DREW McINTYRE!

JIM ROSS: Drew McIntyre vs. Chavo Guerrero, remember that the winner gets to choose JBL or The Rock as his NXT mentor ...

CHAVO GUERRERO vs. DREW McINTYRE

The crowd favourite in this match is Chavo Guerrero who gets a huge pop when he takes Drew down to the mat and follows it with a trip to the top rope ... Pointing up to the heavens gets the pop and then just as he is ready to attempt a ‘Frog Splash,’ Drew moves out of the way to the dismay of the WWE Universe who follow this with a loud ‘Eddie!’ chant in respect of the late, great Eddie Guerrero. Chavo jumps down from the ropes and on hearing this chant, heads over quickly towards Drew as he beats his chest for his Uncle Eddie before suplexing McIntyre who had dominated the early stages of the match with his power moves. However, Chavo is now in control as he rolls over from the suplex and hooks the legs of Drew in a cover ...

THREE AMIGOS! The WWE Universe love it and they chant along with the referee as he counts Drew’s shoulders down on the mat once again ...

A Big Boot from Drew McIntyre connects with the side of Chavo’s head and sends him down to the mat ... Just like that, Drew is back in control of the match ... Drew takes a second to completely recover and then he drags Chavo up and shoots him into the ropes ... Boos ring out around the arena but Chavo manages to back body drop Drew over him as a counter ... Chavo is kneeling on the mat now, the back body drop took a lot of effort and he recovers at the same time as Drew who is back to his feet as well ... Chavo swings at Drew with a European Uppercut but Drew ducks and then counters with a double knee Arm Breaker that leaves Chavo on the mat once more. *** MAN ON FIRE ***

The former World Heavyweight Champion heads out with an evil smile on his face despite the jeers ...

JIM ROSS: Here he is, guys, the former World Champion. I cannot get over what we heard from this man earlier tonight ...

JERRY LAWLER: What a RAW we have seen tonight, JR, and if Kane gets his way, SMACKDOWN threatens to be ... well, scary is the word I think.

MICK FOLEY: I have a very uneasy feeling about this Friday night, King, Kane vs. Teddy Long in a Street Fight?

JIM ROSS: I’m sure that the owner of the WWE will step in, Mick, he has to!

JERRY LAWLER: JR, it was Teddy Long who promised Kane that he would get to choose the main event of the two SMACKDOWN shows. If you look at it like that, it is his fault really ...

JIM ROSS: Give over, King, how can you say that? Teddy Long is a General Manager, not a wrestler!

MICK FOLEY: Friday could be a monumental night in the history of SMACKDOWN and the WWE, JR, I don’t think anybody will want to miss it ...

Kane stands at the bottom of the ramp and he crashes down his arms and the corner posts explode with red fire ... As soon as this happens, the music changes ...

*** THIS FIRE BURNS ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Their opponents ... weighing in at a combined weight of 545 pounds ... KANE ... and the World Heavyweight Champion ... C.M. PUNK!

Punk heads down to the bottom of the ramp and he stands and stares into the eyes of his partner, Kane, who looks at the World Heavyweight Title around the waist of Punk ... Punk’s title belt is passed to the timekeeper and the match can begin ...

BIG SHOW & KOFI KINGSTON vs. CM PUNK & KANE

An excellent start to the match featuring back and forth action from all four guys as they showcase their talents ahead of the big Fatal Four Way World Championship match at Vengeance ... Champion CM Punk and the demonic Kane finally get Kofi Kingston cornered and they try to work him over and keep the mammoth Big Show out of the ring ... Kane tags in and he corners Kofi in the corner (obviously) and hits a volley of thunderous uppercut thrusts to the Ghanaian who is reduced into a heap at the feet of the Big Red Monster. Punk looks on with a smug smile although he still looks nervous about the presence of the man who held the World Title for so long before him. Kane drags Kofi out of the corner and picks him up with both hands in a choke ... Big Show starts to step through the ropes and the referee interrupts but this allows Kane to continue to choke Kofi in the corner ... The referee eventually gets Big Show out and then orders Kane to stop choking Kofi so Kane hits a chokebomb to Kingston that leaves him sprawled on the mat ... Struggling, Kofi starts to inch towards the outstretched hand of the Big Show but Kane comes off the ropes and hits a low dropkick to the head of Kofi before crashing a huge clothesline over the ropes to Big Show that knocks him down to the outside ... Kane tags in CM Punk and then drags Kofi up and throws him back into the corner ... Punk hits a high knee in the corner and follows this up with a Bulldog to Kofi before covering him for the pinfall ...

Punk gets to his feet just as Show winds up for a huge knockout punch and Punk drops to his knees and rolls away before he can be clobbered in the skull ... On his knees, Punk retreats to the corner as Show advances on him. However, Kane is also in the ring now and he rushes over and dropkicks Show in the knee, the bad knee that Show hurt on SMACKDOWN the night he won the title from Kane and then lost it immediately to CM Punk ... With Show staggered, Punk hits kicks to the knee as well until Big Show drops down to his knees and then Punk hits the Shining Wizard kick to the head of Big Show ... However, Show is not the legal man and as Kane tries to push him out of the ring with his feet, Kofi is back up and attacking Punk instead. The two legal men go at it and Kofi forces Punk back into the corner of the ring ... Kofi leaps up onto the shoulders of CM Punk in the corner and he begins to pummel at the face of the World Champion, Kofi looks as fired up as ever, but Kane suddenly grabs him by the hair and drags him down off the shoulders of Punk ... Wobbling a little on landing, Kane grabs Kofi by the throat ... CHOKE SLAM!

Jeers echo around the arena as the referee demands that Kane get out of the ring immediately ... The two legal men are now in the ring with Punk down on his knees in the corner after the quickfire assault from Kofi but the Ghanaian is down on the mat on his back after Kane’s huge chokeslam ... Punk recovers slowly and then crawls over to make the cover ...

Some of the crowd cheer this action as they link it to the Phenom, the Undertaker, but others boo the use of it by Kane ... Kane lifts Kofi up and turns him upside down ready to hit the Tombstone Piledriver to Kingston ... The crowd are going wild with dismay but then suddenly the lights in the arena go out and we are plunged into complete darkness ... The sounds of wind blowing through the arena are heard and the WWE Universe are going mad ... waiting for the Gong to sound out ... but there is nothing ...

MICK FOLEY: What is going on? Is the Undertaker here?

JIM ROSS: The lights are off, that means only one thing, King!

JERRY LAWLER: This can only mean trouble, JR!

As suddenly as they went off, the lights are back on with Kane stood in the ring looking round with a look of fear on his face. He is mouthing that he got rid of the Undertaker, that he destroyed him ... Big Show is also looking around the ring with interest whilst CM Punk is stood in front of the announce table with a look of worry on his face ... Kofi is on the mat recovering where he must have fell when Kane dropped him ... It is clear that Kane didn’t hit the Tombstone ... Warily, Kane heads back towards Kofi and drags him to his feet but Kofi is now capable of hitting some offence of his own ... Kofi throws some stiff punches to the head of Kane and staggers him before springboarding off the ropes and hitting a diving crossbody that takes Kane down to the mat ... Kofi makes a tag to Big Show but then he turns back to Kane ... TROUBLE IN PARADISE connects with Kane! Kane wobbles around ... KNOCKOUT PUNCH from the Big Show! Kofi is out of the ring, Big Show makes the cover ...

WINNER: Big Show and Kofi Kingston (9:38)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here are your winners ... BIG SHOW and KOFI KINGSTON!

The WWE Universe go mad with delight as the music of Big Show plays through the arena ... Show and Kofi embrace in the ring in celebration whilst Kane is laid out cold from the huge punch from the Big Show ... Both Show and Kofi fix their eyes on CM Punk who has taken his World Championship belt and is now edging around the ring and up the ramp with a look of concern on his face ...

JERRY LAWLER: What a finish! If I were CM Punk, I wouldn’t be planning on walking out of Fort Lauderdale with that World Championship belt!

JIM ROSS: But who will walk out as the World Heavyweight Champion, King?

JERRY LAWLER: I don’t know for sure but I can’t argue with the claims of the Big Show right now!

MICK FOLEY: That’s right, King, that knockout punch of Big Show is a game changer ... If he hits that at Vengeance, Big Show will be the World Heavyweight Champion regardless of what the rest can do!

JIM ROSS: It’s been a delight to have you here tonight, Mick!

MICK FOLEY: Well, I’m not just here to commentate on this SMACKDOWN match, JR! I’m also here to present a Slammy Award!

Foley removes his headset and picks up a microphone as he heads away from the announce table ... Kofi and Big Show shake hands with Foley as they walk up the ramp but as Kofi and Show head out through the curtain, Foley turns towards the Slammy Award stand ... Kane staggers up the ramp and gives Foley a look of disdain as he leaves and then Foley is ready to speak out ...

MICK FOLEY: It turns out that the WWE would quite like me to present the next Slammy Award ... Atlanta, Georgia!

Cheap pop for Foley who smiles a wide grin as the crowd in Atlanta cheer for him ...

MICK FOLEY: So what I’d like to do right now is introduce the winner of the WWE’s ‘OMG! Moment of the Year’ for 2010 ...

A loud ‘Foley!’ chant begins in the arena and Foley is forced to stop for a minute and salute the crowd who are giving him love right now ...

MICK FOLEY: Thank you, thank you. You see, the WWE is full of ‘OMG!’ moments ... hell, I’ve been involved in enough of them ... Hell in a Cell in 1998?

Huge cheers for Foley who went off the top of the cell twice in that match!

MICK FOLEY: What about the Royal Rumble in 1999 and the ‘I Quit!’ match with Rock?

More cheers for Foley ...

MICK FOLEY: And who can forget my Hardcore match with Edge at WrestleMania 22?

The applause and cheers for Mick Foley are deafening at his recall of these amazing moments in WWE history ...

MICK FOLEY: But you see, in 2010, Mick Foley hasn’t been involved in an ‘OMG!’ moment ...

Some ‘fake’ boos from the crowd ...

MICK FOLEY: ... Maybe I’ll have one in 2011?!

Loud cheers for Foley and a chant of ‘One more match!’ erupts from the WWE Universe here in Atlanta ... Foley smiles but doesn’t respond ...

MICK FOLEY: Ha! So here we go then, the 2010 WWE ‘OMG! Moment of the Year’ Slammy Award goes to ...

A hush falls over the arena ...

MICK FOLEY: ... THE ARRIVAL OF THE NEXUS!

*** WE ARE ONE ***

Out walks Wade Barrett with the WWE Championship belt draped over his shoulder and the rest of the Nexus – Skip Sheffield, Heath Slater, David Otunga and Ezekiel Jackson, the newest member of the Nexus – following behind him. Foley hands the award to Barrett who looks at him with a look of disgust before brushing past him towards the Slammy Award stand ... Foley chuckles to himself as the rest of the Nexus file past him and Barrett takes his place at the stand ...

WADE BARRETT: Way back in July this year, the Nexus arrived here on RAW and we ...

MICK FOLEY: Hold on a minute, Wade!

Barrett is interrupted as he gets started by Foley to cheers from the WWE Universe ...

MICK FOLEY: I almost forgot something, if you don’t mind ...

It is clear that Barrett does mind and his Nexus team-mates flex their muscles and look threateningly at the WWE Legend that is Mick Foley ...

MICK FOLEY: ... Atlanta, Georgia!

More huge cheers for the mention of the home town ...

MICK FOLEY: HAVE A NICE DAY!

Foley takes off as the Nexus members take a step towards him and he is waving and cheering and celebrating as he disappears out of view ...

WADE BARRETT: You know what? It seems as if old, past it, has been former WWE superstars are all the rage right now here ... We’ve got Mick Foley tonight as well as the wheeling out of people like Bret Hart ... Rowdy Roddy Piper ... None of those guys are fit to be on the same show as myself and the Nexus ...

Boos and jeers and a chant of ‘You Suck!’ aimed at Barrett and his cronies ...

WADE BARRETT: And, of course, who can forget Kurt Angle? Last week, the so called Olympic Hero returned to RAW and earned the chance to face me for the WWE Championship at Vengeance?

Cheers for Angle in the arena but a smirk from Wade Barrett ...

WADE BARRETT: An American hero? An Olympic hero? In 1996, Kurt Angle won the gold medal for the USA ... But Kurt, that was amateur wrestling, not the WWE. So you came to the WWE and you had a huge impact ... in his first year here in the WWE, Kurt Angle won every title in the business including this title that I have over my shoulder ...

Barrett holds the WWE Championship up in the air ...

WADE BARRETT: Kurt Angle, WWE Champion, exactly one year after his debut in the WWE. People said that it would never ever be done again, that nobody would ever win the WWE Championship that quickly again. But guess what?

Barrett smirks and looks to his Nexus mates who nod their heads ...

WADE BARRETT: They were wrong. They were wrong because in July, the Nexus arrived on RAW and destroyed everything in our path. We took out Cena, we took out Punk, we took out the announce team, we took out the ringside team ... we completely destroyed the ring and we destroyed what the WWE stood for ... We continued to cause mayhem and destruction, week after week, until finally we were given WWE contracts in August of this year. Fast forward three months, THREE months ... and here I stand, Wade Barrett, leader of the most fearsome group of men to ever set foot in the WWE ... and here I stand as the WWE Champion!

Boos around the arena from the WWE Universe who know that Barrett did not ‘win’ the title, Justin Gabriel won it for him ...

WADE BARRETT: Now, over time, we have cut the waste in the Nexus. We have got rid of Daniel Bryan ... we took out Darren Young ... we took out Michael Tarver ... and we got rid of Justin Gabriel. We brought in the most powerful wrecking machine that the WWE has ever seen in Ezekiel Jackson ...

Jackson flexes his muscles ...

WADE BARRETT: ... so take a look at the Nexus ... every man, woman and child in the WWE Universe, every man back there in the WWE locker room, look at the Nexus. We are the most dominant force that the WWE has ever seen ... and you haven’t seen nothing yet ... Kurt Angle ... at Vengeance, your dream comeback will turn into a nightmare ...

Barrett holds the WWE Championship aloft once more ...

WADE BARRETT: ... Because ... You’re either Nexus ... or you’re against us!

‘We are One’ plays again as Wade Barrett and the Nexus hold their hands up high, the title belt in the hand of Barrett, as RAW heads into another commercial break ...

JIM ROSS: Threatening words from Wade Barrett, King, we haven’t seen nothing yet?

JERRY LAWLER: That is what the man said, JR ... That doesn’t sound good for the WWE!

JIM ROSS: It doesn’t sound good at all, King. Next up, the main event ... The Miz faces John Morrison, one on one ... NEXT!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

*** AIN’T NO MAKE BELIEVE ***

The slo-mo camera is switched on and John Morrison heads out and holds his hand up in the air ... His fur coat billows in the air and he heads for the ring looking determined to shut his former partner up once and for all ...

JUSTIN ROBERTS: This match is set for one fall. Introducing first, from Los Angeles, California, weighing 224 pounds ... JOHN MORRISON!

Morrison enters the ring to a good reception and he stands on the middle turnbuckle to salute the fans as his music continues to play ...

JIM ROSS: We seem to be saying every week how much improvement that this man is making, King, how far can he go?

JERRY LAWLER: John Morrison is heading for the top, JR! He promised last week that he would win the Royal Rumble and then go to WrestleMania to become the WWE Champion and I don’t think that is out of the question!

JIM ROSS: You think he could win the Royal Rumble?

JERRY LAWLER: Why not, JR? We’ve seen our General Manager win it before from Number 1 – and I see a lot of similarities between HBK and John Morrison!

*** AWESOME – I CAME TO PLAY! ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: His opponent, from Cleveland, Ohio, weighing 231 pounds ... THE MIZ!

JIM ROSS: Here comes the man, King, who is holding the ‘Money in the Bank’ contract for a guaranteed title shot whenever he wants before the ‘Money in the Bank’ pay-per-view next Summer ...

JERRY LAWLER: Miz has held that contract now for almost half a year, I wish he’d get on with it and cash it in!

JIM ROSS: Miz says that when he cashes it in he is guaranteed to become the WWE Champion ...

JERRY LAWLER: It is hard to argue with the Miz on that one, JR, I can argue with Miz about a lot of things but not that!

JIM ROSS: Maybe he will cash it in this Sunday at Vengeance?

JERRY LAWLER: He might do, JR!

Miz enters the ring holding the briefcase with Alec Riley following him as usual ... He places the case down and then holds his hands up in the sky before looking out to the WWE Universe with a cocky look on his face ... He fixes a stare at John Morrison and smirks whilst mouthing ‘Janetty’ to him ...

JIM ROSS: For months now, Miz has been taunting John Morrison, his former partner, about being the ‘Janetty’ of their team, a reference to Marty Janetty, the less successful of the Rockers tag team when they split up ...

JERRY LAWLER: You can’t argue with the success that the other member of that team has had, JR!

JIM ROSS: The one and only Shawn Michaels, the RAW General Manager!

JOHN MORRISON vs. THE MIZ

The match begins with both men feeling each other out and countering each other’s big moves due to knowing each other so well ... Alex Riley tries to distract Morrison on several occasions as he attempts to give Miz an advantage in this match but it isn’t working as the referee prevents it every time ... However, Miz finally gets control when Morrison hits the ropes and Riley catches his foot to trip Morrison up behind the referee’s back ... The boos of the crowd echo around the arena and the referee has stern words with Riley as Miz takes control with a foot on the throat of his former partner ... The referee turns and Miz releases Morrison but it has had the desired effect with Morrison now struggling and gasping as he gets to his feet. With his attention not on the Miz now, he is easy pickings as he staggers into the corner and the Miz rushes over and hits a jumping clothesline as he swings his legs out of the ring ... Miz stands on the middle rop straddling Morrison and he pummels away at his face over and over again until the last moment before the referee is about to disqualify him. Miz stands back and admires his handy work as Morrison falls to his knees in the corner of the ring ... Miz waits for Morrison to get to his feet and then runs over and hits a swinging neckbreaker that causes a loud gasp from the crowd before Miz makes the cover ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Morrison kicks out! *

With Morrison turning onto his front whilst down on the mat, Miz straddles over him and locks in the Camel Clutch to jeers from the crowd ... Miz is sat on the small of Morrison’s back and he is dragging Morrison back by the chin as he tries to put the pressure on him to tap out ... Morrison is in agony but he is not giving up and he starts to inch his way towards the ropes in front of him ... The crowd are willing him on and it looks as if he is going to make it so, with Morrison’s fingertips centimetres awayt from the ropes, Miz uses the surprise factor to release Morrison and he starts stomping away at the lower back over and over again. The referee tries to stop Miz when Morrison gets in the ropes but the damage is being done here ... Miz turns Morrison over and springboards off the ropes with a leg drop across the chest and neck of Morrison ... Cover from the Miz ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* A weaker kick out from Morrison! *

As Morrison gets up slowly, Miz locks in a facelock before pulling him down into a backbreaker first, Miz’ knee driving into the lower back of Morrison, and then up and into a neckbreaker once again. This combination looks painful and Miz cockily stands up and wipes his hands as the crowd boo ... Miz steps back and he sets himself here ... The crowd are jeering as Miz prepares for the Skull Crushing Finale ... Up gets Morrison and Miz locks him in with the arms and goes to drive him face first into the mat ... However, Morrison fights out and manages to create a gap so he can springboard from the rope and hits a tilt-a-whirl DDT that crashes Miz down onto his head ... Morrison is slow to react though after the punishment that his lower back has taken and he hooks Miz’ leg far too late ...

* 1 *
* Miz kicks out with ease! *

Morrison grabs Miz as he gets up and tries a roundhouse kick but Miz ducks and shoots Morrison into the ropes before hitting a spinning sidewalk slam to him instead. A cover from Miz ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Morrison kicks out! *

Once more, Miz sets up and is preparing for the Skull Crushing Finale but again Morrison fights out and this time he shoves Miz away. Miz reacts angrily and flies at Morrison looking for a clothesline and it is easily avoided by the ‘Monday Night Delight’ who counters Miz off the ropes with a running calf kick that sends Miz down to the mat. Morrison takes a second to recover a little although he is still holding his back ... As Miz gets up, Morrison springboards off the ropes and hits a flying Chuck Kick that catches Miz perfectly ... Riley encourages Miz to roll out to the outside and he manages to do so but Morrison follows. With the referee complaining at Miz and Morrison to get back into the ring and ordering Riley away from both men, Miz tries to escape from Morrison but he catches him near the announce tables. Morrison whips Miz into the steel ring steps and Miz clatters into them before Morrison can rush over and hit a running knee strike to Miz as he rests against the steel steps ... If the action were in the ring, it would be over now but it isn’t in the ring and Morrison has to get Miz into the ring to defeat him ... Morrison drags Miz up and rolls him just into the corner of the ring ... As he tries to follow, Riley drags him back and Morrison is forced to kick Riley hard in the chest from the ring apron to stagger him back so he can get back into the ring ... Miz is laid flat on his back and Morrison hits a standing shooting star press to his former partner ... Cover from Morrison ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Miz just kicks out! *

Morrison gets to his feet and surveys the situation and the gleam of light in his eyes tells you what is coming next ... He drags Miz into the corner and turns to face the turnbuckles as the WWE Universe go wild ... Morrison jumps up split legged onto the top rope in the corner ... STARSHIP PAIN! Morrison surely has Miz beaten now ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Riley lifts Miz’ foot onto the bottom rope! *

The referee jeer but the referee has spotted the foot on the rope so he cannot count Miz’ shoulders down for the three count. Morrison complains to the official and turns his back on Miz as he does ... Neither the referee nor Morrison see Riley slide a steel chair into the ring to the Miz ... Miz stands up as Morrison gives up his protest and clutches his head in frustration ... BAM! MIZ WITH THE STEEL CHAIR TO THE BACK OF JOHN MORRISON! Morrison crashes down clutching his back but the referee signals for the bell as Miz launches another shot to the back of Morrison with the steel chair ...

WINNER: John Morrison (DQ 7:37)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: The winner of the match ... as a result of a disqualification ... JOHN MORRISON!

Once the referee has disqualified Miz, he continues to swing the chair and connects with Morrison’s lower back several more times before he throws the chair down in anger but the effect is complete ... Morrison is in agony and is clutching his back as a worried referee kneels beside him ... Miz holds his hands up to celebrate ‘injuring’ Morrison and Alex Riley joins him. The pair of them stand over Morrison and the referee is pushed aside ... Miz bends down and speaks to Morrison although we can’t see what is being said ... Miz is smirking though and he turns to leave with Riley by his side ... They back away up the ramp as medical people enter the ring to check on the state of Morrison’s back ...

JIM ROSS: John Morrison had that match won, King!

JERRY LAWLER: As usual, the Miz takes the easy way out and relies on Alex Riley to help him out!

JIM ROSS: We hope you’ve enjoyed the Slammy Award show, ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got one more award to hand out tonight – after the break, the WWE Owner Chip Butty will be out here to present the award for ‘WWE Superstar of the Year’ ... Stay tuned!

RAW returns with Michael Cole stood on the stage with his microphone in his hand ...

MICHAEL COLE: Can I have your attention please?

The crowd boo the hell out of Michael Cole once again; he has not had a happy return to Monday Night RAW and it seems as if the crowd aren’t prepared to forgive him for his attitude when HBK was the ‘anonymous’ General Manager ... Cole refuses to be put off and continues ...

MICHAEL COLE: To present the final Slammy Award of the night, please welcome the owner of the WWE ... CHIP BUTTY!

*** HOPPIPOLLA ***

Out walks the WWE owner carrying the final Slammy Award trophy of the night ... Instead of staying on the stage, Chip heads for the ring where the Slammy Award stand has been moved to the centre of the ring ... Butty steps through the ropes and he stands facing the cameras in the middle of the ring ...

CHIP BUTTY: Well, hello there, WWE Universe!

Small pop for the owner of the WWE ...

CHIP BUTTY: What a night it has been, ladies and gentlemen, we have had an amazing night here on Monday Night RAW ... And it is my privilege to be here tonight to present the final award of the evening ... ‘WWE Superstar of the Year 2010’ – the man who has been the absolute best WWE superstar this year, the most entertaining man in the WWE ... So let us take a look at the five nominations for the award right now!

Attention turns to the titantron where a video plays with the top five nominees for the coveted ‘WWE Superstar of the Year’ award ... The video starts with some highlights of the Viper, Randy Orton, hitting RKO’s left and right ... it moves on to the Devil’s Favourite Demon, Kane, winning the SMACKDOWN ‘Money in the Bank’ and cashing it in to win the World Championship from Rey Mysterio ... next up is John Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment to different superstars ... after that is The Miz winning the United States Championship, the RAW ‘Money in the Bank’ contract and being a Tag Team Champion at the same time ... the final nomination for the award is Chris Jericho, the man who won the World Championship inside the Elimination Chamber and then defended it successfully at WrestleMania against Rumble winner, Edge ... The camera returns to the WWE owner in the ring ...

*** MY TIME IS NOW ***

CHIP BUTTY: ... JOHN CEEEENA!

A lot of jeers and boos ring out around the arena as Cena heads out onto the stage with a smirk on his face and his hands held high ... There is none of the old Cena saluting at the top of the ramp, he just walks cockily towards the ring, heading for the Slammy Award that he has just won ... Cena slides into the ring and takes the handshake from Chip Butty who hands him the Slammy ...

JOHN CENA: Wow, the 2010 WWE ‘Superstar of the Year’ ... You know who I have to thank for this award, Atlanta?

Cena looks around the WWE Universe at ringside ...

JOHN CENA: I have to thank ... all ... of ... you! You, the people, you made John Cena what he is today. John Cena is the WWE ‘Superstar of the Year’ because you made him that way ... I thank you for that!

Cena salutes the crowd and there are some cheers from the remnants of the Cenation; however, the rest of the WWE Universe suspect something is up ...

JOHN CENA: But, wait a minute, Atlanta. I have spent most of 2010 doing everything I can to make you cheer for me, everything I can to make you chant ‘Cena! Cena! Cena!’ for me ... And tell me something, Atlanta ... tell me something ...

Cena removes his hat and looks out with a quizzical look on his face ...

JOHN CENA: Tell me ... how long did I hold the WWE Championship for in 2010? Tell me how long I held the World Heavyweight Championship for in 2010? I can tell you how long I held the titles for ...

A ‘Cena sucks!’ chant is building up in the arena ...

JOHN CENA: ... 31 seconds in February! After everything I have done for you, the WWE Universe, I held the title for what? 31 seconds?

Cena looks annoyed at what he is saying ... He looks like he blames the WWE Universe here in Atlanta ...

JOHN CENA: I won the WWE Championship in February at the Elimination Chamber ... I celebrated with you all ... and then Vince McMahon brought out Batista and he beat me for the WWE Championship in 31 seconds ...

The crowd boo the comments from Cena ...

JOHN CENA: But at WrestleMania, I regained the WWE Championship ... and you booed me for it. I took out Batista when he was disrespecting everything that the WWE stood for, when he was disrespecting every single one of you ... I took him out for all of you ... and you booed me for it.

Cena looks upset with the WWE Universe and it is clear that the anger in Cena has been slowly building all the way through 2010 ...

JOHN CENA: At Fatal Four Way, I lost the WWE Championship against Sheamus. I was so intent on putting on a spectacle for all of you that I risked everything ... and Sheamus took advantage when Nexus took me out. I took beating after beating after beating from Wade Barrett and the Nexus, I stood up to them when nobody else would, I did everything I could to protect the WWE from the biggest threat that had ever been posed to the WWE ... and you booed me for it.

Cena shakes his head and looks out at the WWE Universe in disgust ...

JOHN CENA: And then, at Cyber Sunday, you voted me out of the WWE Championship match and all my loyal fans stabbed me in the back, they cheered for Randy Orton instead. After all I have been through in 2010, my own fans cheered for Randy Orton instead of me. I still tried to do the right thing, I even teamed up with Randy Orton against the Nexus at Survivor Series. I gave everything I had for the cause ... but you booed me for that as well.

The crowd begin chanting ‘Randy!’ as Cena stands glaring at them from the middle of the ring ...

JOHN CENA: When Randy Orton refused my apology on Monday Night RAW three weeks ago, I decided that I had enough. I had had enough of Randy Orton, I had had enough of all of you, I had had enough of ‘Hustle, Loyalty, Respect!’ ... I decided that it was time for me to look out for myself. So – when 2011 begins next week – John Cena will be doing things his way. John Cena will not be pandering to all of you no more. I won this Slammy Award in 2010 because of all of you ... because I tried to please all of you ...

Cena looks down at the Slammy in his hand, the words ‘Superstar of the Year’ glistening in the lights from the RAW set ... Slowly, Cena considers something for a moment ... then he spits on the Slammy Award and throws it down out of the ring ...

JOHN CENA: That is what I think of being your ‘Superstar of the Year’ ... I don’t care about you anymore, I care about me!

The WWE Universe boo Cena so loud that the roof might be about to lift off ...

JOHN CENA: Next year starts in Cleveland, Ohio next month with the Royal Rumble ... I guarantee you, John Cena will win the Royal Rumble, John Cena will go to WrestleMania, John Cena will win the World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena will defend that title against all of your heroes and he will not listen to what you have to say ...

*** VOICES ***

The crowd go wild as Randy Orton appears on the stage and heads down the ramp with a slow, methodical saunter ... He is carrying a microphone and he holds his hand up to signal for his music to be faded out ...

RANDY ORTON: Have you finished yet, Cena?

An ‘RKO!’ chant begins as Orton steps through the ropes and into the ring ... Cena tenses up ready for a fight but for now Orton is holding his temper ...

RANDY ORTON: Now, Cena, as you know, I have a real problem with my anger management ... And right now, I have a lot of pent up anger towards you. Now, on SMACKDOWN, you told the WWE Universe that you had a proposition for me tonight and I have been waiting all night to hear it ... So before I kick your ass all over Atlanta, Cena, let’s hear the proposition ...

Orton tosses the microphone down and he stands opposite Cena ready to hear the announcement ...

JOHN CENA: What gives you the right to interrupt me, Randy? I am doing things on MY terms now, not yours, not theirs ... So you shut up and listen to me, man ...

Orton looks around at the WWE Universe at ringside who are chanting ‘RKO!’ still and he smiles ... he looks back at Cena and tells him to get on with it ...

JOHN CENA: Randy, I fought hard for you at Survivor Series, I gave everything I had to fight Nexus for you and to keep that WWE Championship around your waist ... and neither you, nor any of them, appreciated it ... I should have been challenging for that WWE Championship of yours at Survivor Series, Randy, but I wasn’t given that chance. Instead, I had to defend you instead!

Orton isn’t looking impressed with what Cena is saying ...

JOHN CENA: Angry, Randy? Wanna hear my proposition?

Orton’s eyes are bulging with anger ... He is dying to strike at Cena ...

JOHN CENA: My first intention now that I have set myself free from these ... from these IDIOTS ... is to destroy you ... So how about it, Randy?

Orton recoils a little as he considers what Cena is asking ...

JOHN CENA: You and me, one on one ... Vengeance, this Sunday? How about it, Randy?

Orton glares into the eyes of Cena who does not flinch as he faces the Viper ... Slowly, Cena raises his hand up and waves it in front of his face while directing a ‘You can’t see me!’ comment at Orton ... RKO! RANDY ORTON WITH AN RKO TO JOHN CENA! The crowd go wild as Orton stands over Cena and glares down at him with maniacal smirk on his face ... He drops down and picks up the microphone that Cena dropped ...

RANDY ORTON: YES!

Orton drops the microphone and turns away as the WWE Universe go wild at the thought of John Cena vs. Randy Orton at Vengeance! Orton backs away up the ramp as Cena comes to his senses and stares out through the ropes at the Viper ... Orton raises his hand and waves it in front of his face as he looks into the eyes of Cena ... The crowd are loving it ...

JIM ROSS: The 2010 ‘WWE Superstar of the Year’ will go one on one with the ‘Viper’ Randy Orton this Sunday at Vengeance ... What a huge announcement!

JERRY LAWLER: Wow, what a match that will be!

RAW fades out with Randy Orton stood on the stage with his hands in the air saluting the fans whilst John Cena stares up at him from the mat in the ring ...

I have been reading your thread with a keen interest, as it is one of the better ones out there. As mentioned by CM Punk'd, this is extremely underrated, and you truly deserve all the positive reaction you are getting and then some. Keep this up, because you are doing absolutely fantastic mate

FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN!
PREVIEW

*** KANE AND TEDDY LONG IN A STREET FIGHT? ***

After Teddy Long stood up to the ‘Big Red Monster’ Kane last week and declared that the World Championship match at Vengeance would be a Fatal Four Way between champion CM Punk, Kane, Big Show and Kofi Kingston, the SMACKDOWN General Manager appeared in high spirits at this week’s RAW Slammy Awards show. However, Kane – desperate for revenge after ‘promises’ made by Long – had a plan in mind. After being given the right to choose any match he wanted on the last SMACKDOWN and this Friday’s show, Kane made a Street Fight for Friday night ... between himself and Teddy Long. The WWE Universe has been worrying about Long’s safety all week with many calls for WWE Owner Chip Butty to make a stand against Kane and stop the match. The owner will be at SMACKDOWN this Friday but will the Street Fight go ahead as planned by Kane?

*** JOHN CENA TO FACE RANDY ORTON AT VENGEANCE! ***

Newly named ‘WWE Superstar of the Year’ John Cena challenged his nemesis Randy Orton to a match at Vengeance on Monday Night RAW this week – the Viper delivered an RKO before emphatically accepting the match. With just two days remaining before Vengeance is upon us, Cena will be on SMACKDOWN this week to explain why he wants to face Orton at Vengeance and how he believes the match will go. With Cena’s attitude taking a turn for the worse recently, how will the fans react to the ‘Superstar of the Year’ this week on SMACKDOWN?

*** BUILD UP TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH AT VENGEANCE ***

With Kane’s actions towards Teddy Long recently, the actual World Championship match has appeared to take second fiddle this week. Whilst Kane may be distracted by other matters though, World Champion CM Punk is focused on the job ahead – retaining the World Championship that he won two weeks ago on SMACKDOWN. The man he won the title from – Big Show – is desperate to regain the title that he held for less than ten minutes on SMACKDOWN and the popular Kofi Kingston is looking to climb that extra inch and bring home his first ever major title in the WWE after several recent close calls. After a mind-blowing SMACKDOWN tag team match on RAW this week between the four, Big Show and Kofi Kingston came out on top but these two friends will be opposing each other at Vengeance. How will the final preparations go for the four superstars this week on SMACKDOWN?

*** CHRISTIAN AND MATT HARDY: THE QUEST TO IMPRESS CONTINUES! ***

Over the past few weeks, Christian and Matt Hardy have had a spirited rivalry over which one of them deserves to challenge for the World Championship and to achieve their dream. Unfortunately, only one of them can do this and Teddy Long recently challenged them to impress him and earn their chance. Tonight, both men have big matches as they look to impress the General Manager. Christian faces the unbeaten Intercontinental Champion Alberto Del Rio whilst Hardy goes one on one with the World Champion CM Punk in a bid to prove himself. A win tonight for either man will go a long way to proving themselves to Teddy Long. Can one of them pull out the win?

*** INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION AND CHALLENGER IN ACTION TONIGHT ***

Just two days from their clash at Vengeance for the Intercontinental Championship, champion Alberto Del Rio and his challenger Mark Henry will both be in action tonight on SMACKDOWN. With both men looking to gain momentum ahead of the title match on Sunday, Del Rio will face Christian whilst Mark Henry meets the partnerless Cody Rhodes who lost Drew McIntyre to NXT this week. Who will be looking good ahead of their Vengeance title match this Sunday?

*** CONFIRMED ***

CM Punk vs. Matt Hardy

Mark Henry vs. Cody Rhodes

Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian

STREET FIGHT
Kane vs. Teddy Long

Jack Swagger vs. Kaval

FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN!
Live from Greenville, South Carolina

*** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO ***

Michael Cole and Mick Foley introduce the SMACKDOWN show tonight, the final show before the Vengeance pay-per-view this Sunday where the World Champion CM Punk defends his title in a Fatal Four Way match against the former champions Kane and Big Show as well as Kofi Kingston. They also hype up the possible Street Fight between Kane and the SMACKDOWN General Manager Teddy Long after Kane, on the RAW Slammy Awards last Monday, used his right to choose one match for SMACKDOWN to try and force Long into the ring with him. Foley is adamant that the match cannot and should not take place whereas Michael Cole is of the opinion that Long got himself into this mess and should fight his way out of it. They are both interrupted by the music of John Cena ...

*** MY TIME IS NOW ***

John Cena heads out with his brand new attitude and slides into the ring to address the WWE Universe. He takes a microphone and he reminds everybody that on Monday Night RAW, he challenged Randy Orton to a match at Vengeance so they can end their feud once and for all. Cena tells the world that he is prepared to do whatever it takes to destroy Orton and prove to him who the better man is going into 2011. As he did on RAW, Cena blames the fans for his new attitude and tells them that he is now focused on proving to the world that he is the best WWE superstar by winning the World Heavyweight Championship and defending it against every other person in the WWE. He reiterates that he gave everything he had to help Randy Orton defend his title at Survivor Series and that he was disrespected by Orton when he refused to accept his apology. Cena declares that now Orton will have to pay for that disrespect this Sunday at Vengeance and that when he has beaten Orton, he will be entering the Royal Rumble, going to WrestleMania and starting his reign as the most dominant superstar that SMACKDOWN has ever seen ...

*** CRANK IT UP ***

Big Show heads out to interrupt Cena who does not look impressed as Show enters the ring. Big Show, the man who is challenging for the World Championship this Sunday, informs Cena that he may well beat Orton this Sunday, he may win the Royal Rumble but by the time he reaches WrestleMania, he will face Big Show for the World Championship. Cena retorts that he has beaten Show at WrestleMania before and that he will do it again if he has to which does not sit well with the ‘World’s Biggest Athlete’ who shakes his head at Cena. Show criticises Cena’s hypocrisy and suggests that he needs to remember that it was the WWE Universe that made him in the first place and that they deserve to be treat better. When Cena refuses to apologise to the fans, Show informs Cena that he will have to beat some sense into Cena instead and challenges him to a match later tonight. Cena declares that he does not fear the Big Show but he has a huge match with Randy Orton in two days time so he has to decline the offer ...

*** POPPIHOLLA ***

The owner of the WWE heads out and he walks down to the ring with a smile on his face shaking hands with the WWE Universe at ringside before entering the ring and taking a microphone of his own. He addresses both John Cena and Big Show who are stood facing him in the ring and he informs them that tonight is a night to ‘put up ... or shut up!’ With that being said, Butty declares that tonight’s SMACKDOWN main event will feature the new ‘WWE Superstar of the Year’ John Cena one on one ... with Big Show! The fans cheer loud and Big Show looks delighted with the decision although Cena doesn’t look too pleased. He reminds Chip Butty that he is facing Orton in two days but Butty is not having any of it as he informs Cena that every SMACKDOWN superstar who has a big match at Vengeance has a match tonight. He informs the WWE Universe that CM Punk will be facing Matt Hardy tonight, Kofi Kingston will be facing the ‘Sinister Scotsman’ Drew McIntyre, Intercontinental Champion Alberto Del Rio is facing Christian and his challenger on Sunday, Mark Henry, is facing Cody Rhodes. Cena tries to moan about the decision some more but Butty stops him in his tracks and tells him that he has heard enough and to go and get ready for his match later tonight. Cena leaves looking mutinous whilst Big Show shakes hands with the owner before following Cena up the ramp. Butty looks round at the WWE Universe and informs them that he deliberately didn’t mention one other match involving one of the main SMACKDOWN stars at Vengeance – Kane and Teddy Long. He calls out the SMACKDOWN General Manager ...

*** MACMILITANT ***

A nervous looking Teddy Long heads out and slowly makes his way down to the ring whilst continuing to look behind him every now and then in fear of an appearance from Kane. Long enters the ring and shakes hands with the WWE owner who tells him not to worry, Kane will not be coming out here right now. Chip Butty goes on to remind everybody that last week he told Teddy to stand up to Kane and to run SMACKDOWN the way a General Manager should. Chip tells Teddy that he did the right thing in standing up to Kane and making a great SMACKDOWN main event with the Fatal Four Way organised for Sunday. Chip Butty now moves on to the match that Kane made on Monday Night RAW ... the Street Fight between himself and Teddy Long. Long pleads with Butty to cancel the match and the owner of the WWE tries to calm him down once more. Chip Butty reminds Teddy Long that his decision making was the reason why Kane was upset in the first place and that he needs to take a long, hard look at himself. Butty also reminds Teddy that he was the man who gave Kane the right to choose any match he wanted to make at SMACKDOWN last week and on SMACKDOWN this week. Therefore, tonight’s Street Fight between Kane and Teddy Long stands ... The WWE Universe do not like the decision and they let the owner know but Butty stands firm. Teddy Long sinks to his knees and begs Chip to cancel the match but Butty refuses. He tells Long to get up before informing him that he must show up for his match with Kane and that he gave Kane the right to make the match. Long pleads but Butty ignores it and looks Teddy in the eye ... Butty says that Long will face Kane tonight in a Street Fight ... and that if he doesn’t show up, he will be fired as the General Manager of SMACKDOWN!

*** THIS FIRE BURNS ***

World Champion CM Punk heads out for the ring with the World Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder as Cole and Foley speculate on what will happen at the Vengeance pay per view this Sunday. Foley declares that CM Punk is up against it and Cole suggests that there is no way that Punk, Show or Kofi can hope to succeed with the mood that Kane has been in recently.

*** LIVE FOR THE MOMENT ***

Matt Hardy heads out to a great reception and Foley talks up the need for Matt to impress the General Manager in order to prove that he, not Christian, deserves a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Cole suggests that Teddy Long will have his mind on other things right now and that Hardy and Christian are the least of his worries ...

NON TITLE MATCH: CM PUNK vs. MATT HARDY

A great back and forth match which sees both men coming close to victory on several occasions as they both look for their big finishing moves – the ‘Go To Sleep’ for CM Punk, the ‘Twist of Fate’ for Matt Hardy – but their opponent wriggles clear at the last second to deny them each time. Punk regains control late in the contest and is building up for the GTS once again as he hits the Running Knee and Bulldog combination before signalling that it is time for the GTS. Punk lifts Hardy onto his shoulders but as he tries to throw him up and over, Hardy counters and sets up his finisher which he hits ... TWIST OF FATE BY MATT HARDY! Hardy hooks the leg of CM Punk ...

* 3 – Noooo! Punk’s foot is on the rope! *

CM Punk didn’t have enough left to kick out but he did have enough to get his foot on the rope to deny Matt Hardy the victory. Hardy cannot believe it but he stays strong as he drags Punk up and goes for the Side Effect. However, Punk counters this time as he hooks Hardy’s leg to prevent it and then he takes Hardy down to the mat and locks in the ANACONDA VICE! Hardy is locked in, Punk looks to have the match won but somehow Hardy manages to get to the rope nearby and he forces the referee to break the hold to the delight of the fans at ringside ... The referee breaks it and both men get to their feet but it is Hardy that is struggling after that submission hold and Punk lifts him up once more ... GO TO SLEEP! Punk makes the cover ...

WINNER: CM Punk (9:37)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... C. M. PUNK!

After the match, the cameras head backstage where Chip Butty is stood with the SMACKDOWN General Manager, Teddy Long. Long is pleading with Butty still and Butty is standing firm – he tells the GM that he got himself into the mess and he needs to face up to the consequences. Long continues to plead until Kane walks into the office and stares at the General Manager with a huge smile on his face ...

*** SMOKE AND MIRRORS ***

Cole and Foley continue their discussions about the plight of Teddy Long with Cole now applauding the decision of Chip Butty to ensure that this match takes place. Foley doesn’t agree and attention turns to Cody Rhodes who is going his way in singles competition again with Drew McIntyre heading for NXT. Rhodes grabs a microphone and tells the WWE Universe that his rise to the top of the SMACKDOWN roster is about to begin ...

*** SOMEBODIES GONNA’ GET THEIR ASS KICKED ***

The ‘Worlds Strongest Man’ heads out to the ring to face Cody Rhodes and Foley suggests that they are looking at the new Intercontinental Champion this Sunday at Vengeance. Cole scoffs at the idea and he insists that Alberto Del Rio has nothing to fear. Cole reminds the WWE Universe that Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre had a few issues with Mark Henry last month and that the big man ultimately played a huge part in them losing the Tag Team Championship at Survivor Series so he will ‘owe’ Henry one here tonight!

CODY RHODES vs. MARK HENRY

Cody Rhodes’ cleverness and speed advantage helps him as he controls the early part of the match against his stronger opponent but Henry manages to use his power to throw Rhodes off on several occasions and he begins to get more and more offence in as the match progresses. Rhodes looks to hit Cross Rhodes but Henry uses his strength to fight out and he takes control of the match with several near falls. Rhodes uses his cunning and manages to get back on top but he misses with the Beautiful Disaster kick and Henry scoops him up and hits the WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM to the delight of the WWE Universe. He covers Cody Rhodes who looks defeated ...

* Wait a minute! *

Alberto Del Rio appears just in time and he crashes his Intercontinental Championship into the back of Mark Henry to prevent Henry getting the pinfall victory. However, the referee signals for the bell and he disqualifies Cody Rhodes to hand Henry a victory albeit a tainted one ...

WINNER: Mark Henry (DQ – 5:28)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... as a result of a disqualification ... MARK HENRY!

Alberto Del Rio stands over Mark Henry as the big man clutches his back in pain where Del Rio’s title belt connected with him. Del Rio tosses his belt over the rope to Ricardo Rodriguez who catches it and Del Rio sticks the boot to Henry. As Henry drags himself up a little, Del Rio spins around him and locks in the Cross Arm Breaker to the annoyance of the referee. It is clear that Del Rio is trying to cause an injury to the challenger for his title on Sunday here and he wrenches the hold in hard. However, Mark Henry begins to roll Del Rio over and starts to stand up with Del Rio still holding on in desperation. Finally, Henry manages to throw Del Rio into the ropes and the Mexican tumbles through them to the floor outside. Henry is clutching his arm but he smiles at Del Rio before starting to stalk him up the ramp. Del Rio takes off and heads out of the arena but Mark Henry follows him through the curtain into the backstage area. The camera follows an angry looking Mark Henry around a bit but he cannot find Del Rio and the cameras return to the ring where Drew McIntyre is stood in the ring with his music playing ...

*** BROKEN DREAMS ***

Drew signals for his music to fade out. He tells the world that on Monday, he was announced as one of the second men to be taking part in NXT Season 3 and reminds us that he faced Chavo Guerrero with the winner given the right to choose which WWE Legend Mentor they would have for the NXT competition. He directs attention towards the titantron as the end of his match with Chavo Guerrero is shown ...

JBL stands up and applauds Drew, desperate to secure Drew as one of his WWE superstars for the NXT show ... Drew looks out into the arena still looking determined to get his career back on track ...

DREW McINTYRE: My name is Drew McIntyre ... I am the ‘Chosen One’ ... On NXT Season 3, I will get my career back on track, I will beat every guy on that show and I will leave WrestleMania 27 as the NXT winner and with a future shot at the title ...

Drew focuses on the announce table and he points towards JBL ...

Drew shakes his head and tells Kofi that he will not be one of the five to be let go by the WWE, he tells Kofi that he won’t even be one of the two who survive in the WWE ... DREW McINTYRE vs. KOFI KINGSTON

An extremely well fought contest as Drew McIntyre’s new meaner streak shines through and he shows an improvement on his recent performances. At one stage, a Big Boot to Kofi Kingston looks to have him down and beaten but Kofi kicks out at the last moment to the frustration of Drew who seems desperate for the victory. Drew goes for the Future Shock DDT but Kofi counters into the SOS but to his credit, McIntyre manages to kick out of that as well. Another failed Future Shock DDT gives Kofi his opportunity to catch Drew out and he hits the TROUBLE IN PARADISE to put Drew down ...

Out runs JBL and the crowd jeer him but he is intent on reaching his prize asset for NXT so far and he grabs him and speaks to him. Drew slowly calms down and is reassured by the words of his mentor for NXT who ushers him up the ram and backstage as Kofi takes in the cheers of the WWE Universe ahead of his match this Sunday for the World Title. *** JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES ***

Christian heads for the ring and once again Foley and Cole discuss the chance for Christian to impress the General Manager. Cole suggests that if he were the General Manager, he would be far more impressed by Christian and would hand him a title shot over Matt Hardy. When pushed on this by Foley, Cole declares that Matt Hardy doesn’t excite him anymore and that he cannot take him seriously as a threat to the title that is currently held by CM Punk. Foley assures Cole that Matt Hardy could win the title but just needs the little bit of luck that every champion needs to get the right opportunity at the right time in the right place.

NON TITLE MATCH: ALBERTO DEL RIO vs. CHRISTIAN

An extremely close contest as Del Rio plays his usual tactic of trying to work over the arm of his opponent to set up the Cross Arm Breaker but Christian fights back at every turn and refuses to allow Del Rio the chance to lock in the submission hold. At one point, Del Rio also attempts to go for the ‘Powerbomb of Destiny’ – his new finishing move – but Christian manages to wriggle clear and land on his feet where he trades punches with the Mexican aristocrat. Both men are going for it when Mark Henry appears on stage with a baseball bat and distracts the Intercontinental Champion. As Del Rio looks on, Henry begins to smash the windows of Del Rio’s car as the crowd cheers him on. Del Rio is furious and he gets out of the ring and starts to head out towards Henry until the referee’s count changes his mind and Del Rio rushes back into the ring at 9. However, he is now off guard and Christian takes advantage with a springboard Sunset Flip that rolls Del Rio up ...

As Del Rio gets up again and swings wildly, Christian dodges and locks in the set up for the KILLSWITCH before driving Del Rio down face first into the mat. Could this be Alberto Del Rio’s first ever defeat on SMACKDOWN?

WINNER: Christian (6:52)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... CHRISTIAN!

As Christian celebrates the victory, Mark Henry continues to smash at the windows of Del Rio’s car. The Mexican is incensed that his undefeated WWE record has gone and he heads out of the ring and over towards the car to confront Henry but he beckons him to come and try it. Brandishing the baseball bat, Mark Henry looks a fearsome sight and Cole reminds us of the actions of Del Rio in taking out Henry’s partner and good friend, Evan Bourne. Del Rio points to the bat and tells Henry that it wouldn’t be a fair fight right now so Henry throws the bat away and beckons Del Rio over, daring him to come over ... Henry pulls the windscreen wipers off the car and then rips the handle off the door ... Del Rio thinks about going over but then waves his arm and leaves the arena to boos and jeers and refuses to fight ...

The cameras switch to the office of the General Manager and Teddy Long, still suited up, is stood looking scared stiff as Matt Hardy and Christian argue over who has impressed him the most. Christian, just back from defeating Alberto Del Rio, says that Matt Hardy lost tonight and that he won his match but Hardy fires back about the status of their opponents. Both men are arguing and Long is looking more and more agitated until he suddenly bellows for silence and shuts Hardy and Christian up. Long tells the pair that he has enough on his mind without being concerned about their squabbles and he informs them that at Vengeance, they will face each other one on one and that man will get a shot at the World Champion, whoever that may be, sometime in the future. Both Hardy and Christian look happy with this and they stare into each other’s eyes and begin to argue once more about who will win. However, Long stops them again and demands that they leave right now.

*** POPPIHOLLA ***

The owner of the WWE comes out to some boos after his decisions tonight but he looks steadfast on the decision he has made. He makes his way towards the announce table and joins Foley and Cole by placing a headset on his head. Butty confirms that the match will be a Street Fight and that if Teddy Long doesn’t show up, he will be fired. Foley challenges this decision and points out that Long is not a wrestler but Butty repeats what he said earlier ... Teddy Long gave Kane the right to choose matches for SMACKDOWN and now he has to live with the consequences of his actions.

*** SLOW CHEMICAL ***

Out comes Kane to an eerie red light and he heads towards the ring savouring every moment of this situation. He gets into the ring and instead of exploding the ring posts, he takes a microphone and speaks slowly into it. He dares Teddy Long to come to the ring and reminds the watching fans that Long cost him the World Championship when he lost to Big Show, he reminds the watching fans that Long tried to cost him the title when he faced Matt Hardy and Christian at Survivor Series by making it a Ladder Match ... Kane says that he is going to enjoy every minute of this match and that he is going to make Teddy Long regret every bad decision that he has ever made. The ring posts explode and Kane laughs maniacally as Foley once more urges Chip Butty to end this now ...

*** MACMILITANT ***

Teddy Long does come out and he is cheered by the WWE Universe but he looks petrified as he walks to the ring. He walks around the outside of the ring and he begins to plead with Chip Butty once more but there is nothing doing. Long is scared out of his wits and as he pleads one more time with the owner, Kane steps out of the ring and stands behind him. Long turns round slowly and Kane grabs him and throws him under the bottom rope and into the ring. The referee looks guilty as he signals for the bell to ring ...

STREET FIGHT: KANE vs. TEDDY LONG

Kane stands over a quivering Teddy Long who is pleading with the Big Red Monster for some mercy. Teddy Long staggers to his feet as Kane stalks after him and actually dodges Kane as he tries to trap him in the corner. Kane forces Long back into the opposite corner and this time, when Long tries to dodge him, Kane grabs him by the throat. Long looks petrified as he claws at Kane’s hand to try to loosen the grip but Kane is immovable. Kane laughs out loud as he prepares for a choke slam ...

*** GONG ***

The WWE Universe go wild as the lights go off in the arena and the chill winds are heard blowing around them. However, there is no sign of anybody entering the arena and no music plays ... The lights return with Kane stood in the centre of the ring looking bewildered and Teddy Long has ‘escaped’ his grip. Long steps through the ropes and drops down to the outside. As Kane demands he gets back into the ring, Long turns and walks out of the arena ... As he goes, he is heard muttering ‘I started the match, that is enough!’ as the referee counts him out ...

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... as a result of a countout ... KANE!

SMACKDOWN returns with Chip Butty walking down a corridor before turning into the General Manager’s office where Teddy Long is sat quivering in fear on the couch. Butty sits beside him and praises Long for having the guts to come out there. He then declares that Kane was the one that tossed him into the ring though so technically he didn’t actually ‘show up’ for the match in the ring. Long looks fearful as Butty stands up and looks down on Long. Butty apologises to Long and says he didn’t want to do this but he has to – Teddy Long is fired as the General Manager of SMACKDOWN!

*** GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES ***

There is shock on the faces of Mick Foley and Michael Cole as they digest what just happened and try to react. Foley is not impressed by the actions of the WWE owner tonight and he says so whilst Cole, repeating his opinion that Long asked for this trouble, says he is shocked by what just happened. Jack Swagger isn’t bothered either way as he makes his way to the ring with a few press ups in the aisle before entering the ring looking cocky and confident as usual ...

*** EXPLODING HELMETS ***

A great reception for Kaval who – Cole reminds us – is the other member of Team JBL in NXT Season 3. Foley reminds us that JBL was delighted to get Drew McIntyre but less than impressed to get Kaval and he wonders if Kaval will get any advice from JBL tonight.

However, before the match can begin, Jack Swagger attacks Kaval. He hits him in the head with a stiff kick as he comes through the ropes that sends Kaval down to the mat and then proceeds to beat him up. Kaval is helpless after being caught with the early kick as Swagger hits the Gutwrench Powerbomb and well as the springboard Swagger bomb in the corner of the ring before he tosses the little guy through the ropes to the outside. Swagger rams Kaval into the ring steps and the barricades before locking in the Ankle Lock on the rampway as Kaval tries to claw himself away. When the referees and officials finally prise Swagger away from Kaval, Swagger returns to the ring whilst Kaval clutches his leg in extreme pain and discomfort. Swagger gets a microphone and declares that he is sick of facing people like Kaval, people who are not fit to lace his boots and he demands that he is taken more seriously. Swagger promises that 2011 will be his year and that he will win the Royal Rumble before moving on to greatness at WrestleMania 27.

Backstage, Josh Matthews catches up with the WWE owner Chip Butty as he is preparing to leave the arena in his limo. Josh asks Chip Butty what will happen with the role of SMACKDOWN General Manager now that Teddy Long has been relieved of his duties. Butty replies that he has somebody in mind for the role and that he will hopefully be able to announce the new General Manager at Vengeance or, at worst, next Friday night on SMACKDOWN! Butty gets into the car and leaves with Cole and Foley speculating on who might be in Chip Butty’s thoughts ... Cole reminds everybody that next up is the main event clash between John Cena and Big Show and tells the watching fans to not go anywhere!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

SMACKDOWN returns with a rundown of the main matches taking place at the Vengeance pay per view this Sunday as Cole and Foley discuss them ...

After his return to the WWE a fortnight ago, the ‘American Olympic Hero’ Kurt Angle managed to eliminate Sheamus, Miz and Randy Orton to secure a shot at the WWE Championship held by Wade Barrett. Will Angle be the man to end Barrett’s reign as WWE Champion? Or will the leader of the Nexus prove that his faction and he will dominate the WWE like he has promised?

Cole announces that the following match has been added to the card for Vengeance after their match on RAW this week ended with Miz being disqualified for using the steel chair on his former partner, John Morrison. Cole praises the actions of Miz, apparently forgiving him for leaving him in the lurch back at No Mercy, whilst Foley looks forward to John Morrison taking revenge on his former partner.

After two successive pay per view matches in which Sheamus managed to get the better of the experienced Triple H, the pair will meet for the final time at Vengeance with a WWE Championship opportunity up for grabs thanks to HBK. Cole reminds everybody that it is a ‘Last Man Standing’ contest and that Sheamus is deadly in such as environment but Foley reminds us that Hornswoggle has been banned from ringside and that if he shows up, Sheamus will be suspended.

Mick Foley reminds everybody that the ‘Rated R Superstar’ Edge will make his return to the WWE this Sunday after RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels suspended him at Survivor Series after he walked out on Team RAW and cost them victory. Cole suggests that SMACKDOWN would have won anyway and says that Edge did the right thing and deserves more respect. Will Edge have words for the General Manager when he returns on Sunday?

Cole informs us that the match is official despite what has happened since with Teddy Long – it will be Christian vs. Matt Hardy for a future World Heavyweight Championship opportunity. He suggests that it is time for both men to stop the petty arguing and to prove why they deserve the chance to be a big name player on SMACKDOWN. Foley says that he has been in the ring with both men and that they both have the ability to be World Champion but they need to step it up and prove it this Sunday.

Cole reminds us of the history between Cena and Orton and points out that this one is extremely personal as we head into Vengeance. Cena wants revenge for the disrespect he feels that Orton has shown towards him; Orton wants revenge because he feels that Cena cost him the WWE Championship on not one but two occasions. Foley adds that he cannot wait to see this one and that it will be an epic battle between two of WWE’s top stars.

Cole introduces SMACKDOWN’s main event match for the PPV, a Fatal Four Way for the World Championship of CM Punk. They touch on the night on SMACKDOWN a fortnight ago when Big Show beat Kane for the title but then CM Punk won the title immediately. Foley says that Punk has kept quiet whilst Kane wreaks havoc on SMACKDOWN but that he is determined to show that he is a worthy champion. They also discuss the inclusion of Kofi Kingston – Cole doesn’t believe Kofi should be in the match but Foley says that he does and that he could cause an upset if the others don’t take him seriously.

*** MY TIME IS NOW ***

It’s main event time as Cena heads out to a negative reception and walks determinedly towards the ring with no interaction with the WWE Universe. Once in the ring, Cena waves his hand across his face to show that the WWE crowd ‘can’t see’ him before he turns towards the titantron ready for his opponent ...

*** CRANK IT UP ***

The massive Big Show heads out waving and smiling but with a serious look in his eyes as he approaches the ring. Cole and Foley discuss the chances of Big Show at Vengeance and Foley is of the opinion that when SMACKDOWN airs next week, this man will be the new World Heavyweight Champion. Cole disagrees and hypes up Kane’s chances as Show gets into the ring and prepares for his match ...

BIG SHOW vs. JOHN CENA

In the early stages, Big Show – to the delight of the fans – prevents Cena at every turn as he throws him down, pushes him away, threatens him with a big right hand or simply squeezes the life out of him. Cena looks frustrated as tries everything he can think of but nothing is working until he manages to hit his shoulder block as he comes off the ropes to jeers from the crowd who used to cheer the first of these ‘Five Moves of Doom’ ... Cena hits a second shoulder block and then hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle after telling Big Show that he can’t see him. However, Cena misses the Leg Drop to the back of Show’s head and he crashes down onto the mat hard on his lower back. Big Show looks to take advantage as he locks in a Bear Hug on Cena that further increases the pain on the lower back. Cena does try to launch a fightback using his strength but as he escapes and hits the ropes, Show catches him with a Sidewalk Slam and goes for the cover ...

Show goes for the Showstopper next and he succeeds in driving his huge leg across the chest of Cena before going for a second cover ...

* Cena kicks out! *

Big Show looks as if he is enjoying himself now and he signals for a Choke Slam instead. Wisely, Cena exits the ring and recuperates on the outside before Show heads out after him. As Show goes for Cena, a drop toe hold takes him down and he collides with the steel ring steps. Cena comes off the apron and hits the leg drop over the back of the neck of Show but on the outside and drives him down to the mats on the outside. Show looks in trouble as Cena gets back into the ring and allows the ref to count out the ‘World’s Largest Athlete’ ...

Cena stands back in preparation and as Big Show gets to his feet, struggling still, Cena looks to lift him up onto his shoulders for the Attitude Adjustment. Showing immense strength, Cena has Show up but the big man fights out of it and then lifts Cena up for a Military Slam. Cena crashes down from nearly ten feet in the air and it looks as if Big Show is in control now. He drags Cena up and grabs him by the throat. The crowd cheer as Big Show lifts him up ... CHOKE SLAM TO JOHN CENA! Big Show makes the cover ...

* 2 *
* Cena kicks out to everyone’s amazement! *

Show cannot believe it and he stands over Cena with a look of annoyance on his face now. He signals that it is time for the Knockout Punch and he stands back waiting for Cena to get to his feet. The crowd are cheering as Cena slowly gets to his knees completely unaware of what is coming ...

Suddenly, the WWE Universe are on their feet as the Big Red Monster Kane is heading down the ramp towards the ring. Big Show’s attention is drawn as Kane clambers over the top rope and heads across the ring towards him and the two big men start slugging it out ... The referee has no choice but to signal for the bell due to the outside interference of Kane.

WINNER: NO CONTEST (8:46)

Kane and Show continue their battle but Show has forced his adversary back into the corner with his heavy right hands. However, Cena hits a chop block to the back of Show’s knee and takes him down and Kane takes the opportunity to hit a Choke Slam to the big man. Show’s body crashes down on the mat and the ring shakes as Kane stands over him looking impressed ... As Show gets up, Cena uses his unbelievable strength to lift Big Show up for the Attitude Adjustment and the crowd boo ... Before he can hit the move though, Kofi Kingston enters the ring and he attacks Cena and forces him to drop Big Show as they slug it out. Kofi goes for the Trouble in Paradise kick to Cena but he is stopped by Kane’s big hand on his throat. All hell is letting loose now as Big Show returns to the battle as he stops Kane hitting a choke slam to Kofi and they pair off before the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk, appears. Punk enters the ring and hits Muay Thai kicks to Kofi that stagger him ... CENA HITS THE ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT TO KOFI! Big Show is enraged and he swings his big right hand ... KNOCKOUT PUNCH TO KANE! Kane crashes down but Punk now goes after one of his challengers this Sunday ... He spins him into the path of Cena and this time Cena connects with his big move ... ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT TO THE BIG SHOW! Cena and Punk are standing tall but the WWE Universe are going wild ... CM Punk turns around ... RKO! RANDY ORTON HITS THE RKO TO THE WORLD CHAMPION CM PUNK! Orton stands looking into the eyes of his opponent this Sunday in Cena and the crowd go wild as they are set to go at it right now ... Cena changes his mind though and he exits the ring and retreats from Orton ... Cena is joined by CM Punk and Kane as they back away up the ramp whilst Orton checks on Kofi and Big Show before they stare out at the retreating Cena, Kane and Punk ...

NO MERCY
PREVIEW

RANDY ORTON vs. JOHN CENA

A match that has been building for a couple of months now, John Cena has finally cracked in recent weeks and has developed a brand new attitude towards Randy Orton, the WWE Universe and the rest of the WWE locker room. After being left out of the WWE Championship match at Cyber Sunday by the WWE Universe, things came to a head recently at the Survivor Series when Wade Barrett’s Nexus took on Randy Orton’s team. After HBK had made the stipulation that if Nexus won, Wade Barrett would become the new WWE Champion, it was John Cena that was on the end of Justin Gabriel’s 450 Splash that gave Nexus the win and made Barrett the new WWE Champion. The following night on RAW, Randy refused to accept Cena’s apology, in Cena’s words disrespecting the leader of the Cenation, and that led to problems later that night in Orton’s rematch for the WWE Championship. Cena’s disruption cost Orton the title once more before an Attitude Adjustment was added for good measure. SMACKDOWN General Manager Teddy Long chose that moment to draft Cena over to SMACKDOWN and it seemed as if the feud would end their as Cena had a new start. However, Orton would not let it lie as he attacked Cena with an RKO on his first night back on SMACKDOWN. Further niggles, RKO’s and Attitude Adjustments over the past few weeks led to Cena showing up on RAW last week to make the challenge – John Cena, Randy Orton, one on one, Vengeance.

Will Cena be able to justify his actions by chopping the head off the Viper?
Or will Orton get revenge over Cena for losing him the WWE Championship at Survivor Series?

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
WADE BARRETT (c) vs. KURT ANGLE

After finally winning the WWE Championship at Survivor Series – thanks to Justin Gabriel – Wade Barrett’s reign as WWE Champion moves on to Vengeance with a new challenger rearing his head. After over five years away from the WWE, the ‘American Olympic Hero’ Kurt Angle returned to RAW a fortnight ago to take place in the Number 1 contender match with Orton, Miz and Sheamus and came out as the victor to earn himself a shot at the WWE Championship. However, Barrett and the Nexus quickly welcomed Angle back to the WWE after the match and Barrett has since declared Angle as ‘past it’ and ‘not worthy of being called a hero’ as he prepares to face his challenger. Angle has described the way that Barrett won the WWE Championship as embarrassing and has challenged Barrett to prove that he deserves to be known as the champion.

Can Kurt Angle return to the WWE in style by capturing the WWE Championship?
Or will Wade Barrett prove that his championship reign is no fluke by destroying Angle’s dream?

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH
CM PUNK (c) vs. BIG SHOW vs. KANE vs. KOFI KINGSTON

A lot has changed since Survivor Series on SMACKDOWN: John Cena has arrived, Kane has lost the World Heavyweight Championship, Big Show has won and lost the World Heavyweight Championship, CM Punk has won the World Heavyweight Championship and Kane has caused the SMACKDOWN General Manager Teddy Long to be fired. In the midst of all that, one of Teddy Long’s final acts as General Manager – and the one that upset Kane the most – was to make a Fatal Four Way match for the World Heavyweight Championship for Vengeance as CM Punk defends against the two men entitled to a rematch in Kane and Big Show as well as Kofi Kingston after his huge win over John Cena a fortnight ago. CM Punk has been on a roll of late after he led SMACKDOWN to victory at Survivor Series but it was the captain of the team, Big Show, who was entitled to the reward of a title shot. In the end, Long decided to have Kane defend against Big Show on SMACKDOWN and then face the winner of the CM Punk / Kofi Kingston match later that night with the title on the line again. Big Show beat Kane to become the World Champion but it was CM Punk that walked out as World Champion ten minutes later after his win over Kofi earned him a shot at Big Show immediately – which he won. With a new SMACKDOWN General Manager possibly announced tonight, all four men will be desperate to walk out of Fort Lauderdale with the big, gold belt around their waist.

Will CM Punk prove to the SMACKDOWN world that he is the man to beat by defending the title successfully?
Will Kane be the man to regain the World Championship after losing it three weeks ago?
Will Big Show be able to supply the ‘Knockout Punch’ to CM Punk’s title reign?
Or will the popular Kofi Kingston prove that he has well and truly arrived on the Main Event scene by securing his first major title?

LAST MAN STANDING – Winner to get WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble
SHEAMUS vs. TRIPLE H

No Mercy, Cyber Sunday and Survivor Series. For the past three WWE pay-per-view events, Sheamus and Triple H have been mixed up in a bitter feud that begin way before WrestleMania 26 and RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels is determined to see the pair of them end their animosities tonight in a Last Man Standing Match! After being put on the shelf by Sheamus the night after WrestleMania, Triple H returned at No Mercy to deny Sheamus just as he was about to regain the WWE Championship and, since then, they have been at loggerheads. At Cyber Sunday, the WWE Universe chose an Ambulance Match for the pair and just as it seemed Triple H had the match won, a steel pipe struck him from the inside of the ambulance and enabled Sheamus to get the victory. Of course, we now know that Hornswoggle had turned on Triple H and joined forces with Sheamus, the fellow Irish superstar, and he played a role in their Survivor Series match as well. With Triple H one fall up in their ‘3 Stages of Hell’ contest, Hornswoggle first played around with tables to allow Sheamus to win the second fall and then swung the steel pipe once again to ensure Sheamus escaped the cage first to seal victory. However, this time, HBK has banned Hornswoggle from Fort Lauderdale and if he shows, Sheamus will be suspended for six months. HBK also declared that the winner would become the Number 1 contender for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble to ensure that the winner would have a new focus after Vengeance.

Can Triple H finally take revenge on Sheamus and give himself a chance of another WWE Championship?
Or will Sheamus’ winning streak over the veteran continue for a third PPV in a row?

US CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
DANIEL BRYAN (c) vs. JUSTIN GABRIEL vs. TED DiBIASE

Daniel Bryan has been the United States Champion since Night of Champions and has defended the title successfully on a number of occasions but he recently lost to Ted DiBiase which meant that the ‘Prodigal Son’ of the Million Dollar Man would be entitled to a shot at the US Championship. However, the third man in the match was unexpected: after leaving Nexus, Justin Gabriel proved that he can hang without their help as he defeated Ted DiBiase on RAW to force a rethink – HBK decided that if DiBiase deserved a shot, so did the South African and made the match a Triple Threat.

Can Daniel Bryan take another step towards being one of the great US Champions of all time?
Can Justin Gabriel cap off a month of change by securing his first title in the WWE?
Or can Ted DiBiase prove that he can earn rewards that money cannot buy?

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
ALBERTO DEL RIO (c) vs. MARK HENRY

After a victory over Evan Bourne at Survivor Series, Alberto Del Rio went one step further on SMACKDOWN when he retained the Intercontinental Championship against Bourne once more and then proceeded to injure Bourne with the Cross Arm Breaker move that has become his signature. The undefeated Mexican issued an open challenge to anybody in the SMACKDOWN locker room who felt they could take his title away – and Bourne’s best friend Mark Henry answered the call. After Teddy Long made the match official, Del Rio looked to gain the upper hand over Henry but failed at each turn and on SMACKDOWN this week, Henry caused significant damage to Del Rio’s luxury Merecedes car and distracted him during his match with Christian. This led to Alberto Del Rio’s first ever defeat in the WWE and it is sure to be revenge on the mind of the Mexican as he heads into his title defence against the ‘World’s Strongest Man’ at Vengeance.

Can Alberto Del Rio get his winning streak restarted and retain the Intercontinental Championship?
Or will the brute power and force of Mark Henry lead him to Intercontinental gold once again?

JOHN MORRISON vs. THE MIZ

There was once a time when wherever John Morrison was, The Miz was sure to be close by. The former partners and Tag Team Champions made the lives of many other tag teams a misery until the day that The Miz’ ego got the better of him and he broke the team up. Since that day, Miz has gone on to further success – Tag Team Championships with Chris Jericho and Big Show, a United States Championship reign and most importantly winning the RAW Money in the Bank Ladder Match back in July – whilst John Morrison has struggled to make the next step up on the WWE ladder. Crowd favourite Morrison will tell you that all he wants is the WWE Championship but with the Money in the Bank contract stowed in his briefcase, Miz seems most likely to take one of the top titles first as well. This has led to numerous verbal confrontations between the pair with Miz naming Morrison the ‘Janetty’ of their team, a reference to the less successful member of the Rockers tag team, Marty Janetty, who had to stand and watch on as Shawn Michaels became one of the WWE’s biggest stars. After the RAW General Manager, HBK himself, demanded that the two meet on the Slammy Award RAW show last week, Miz took the cheap way out and was disqualified. However, there is no escape for Miz this Sunday as he goes one on one with Morrison once again at Vengeance.

Can Miz get the victory that will leave John Morrison trailing in his wake once and for all?
Or will Morrison ram the ‘Janetty’ taunts right back down Miz’ throat with a victory?

CHRISTIAN vs. MATT HARDY

In the build up to Survivor Series, Matt Hardy, a 13 year WWE veteran decided to give his World Championship dream one last shot rather than leave the WWE and he returned in time for the SMACKDOWN ‘Breakout Star’ tournament that would give one man who had never won one of the big titles in the WWE a chance to face Kane for the World Championship. Hardy managed to fight his way through the tournament but in the final match, he would face another WWE veteran desperate for success at the highest level of the WWE in Christian. Both men have looked on whilst their former Tag Team partners have gone on to claim the biggest prizes in the WWE – former WWE wrestler Jeff Hardy winning the World Championship whilst Edge is a 9 time champion – but are now desperate to secure their place on the list of World Heavyweight Champions. After interference from Kane in their match on SMACKDOWN, both men faced the Big Red Monster in a Ladder Match for the title at Survivor Series but despite both men coming so close on more than one occasion, it was Kane that retained to destroy both men’s dream. On SMACKDOWN, former General Manager Teddy Long challenged the pair to prove that they deserved one more chance more than the other and a verbal confrontation last week led to this match being made. Long decreed that the winner would get a future World Championship match before his firing and WWE owner Chip Butty will uphold that decision.

Which of these popular veterans will get one more chance at becoming the World Champion?

EDGE SET TO RETURN!

After a four week suspension was handed out to the ‘Rated R Superstar’ at Survivor Series, Edge returns at Vengeance and has promised that he will be having words with the RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels. Numerous problems between the pair were evident whilst Michaels remained anonymous as the General Manager and Edge was unimpressed when Michaels was revealed as the GM at Cyber Sunday. HBK tried to make a truce when he named Edge as the RAW captain for Survivor Series but Edge turned on his team-mates and the brand when he created havoc on the team and then turned on John Morrison before walking out. This led to SMACKDOWN winning the match and HBK lost one of his top stars in John Cena. The four week suspension HBK handed to Edge has meant that he has been off screen for the past few weeks although he appeared via video link on RAW last week to accept his Slammy Award for best return at the Royal Rumble. After returning at the start of 2010, Edge returns again at the end of 2010!

What reception will the ‘Rated R Superstar’ receive when he returns to RAW this Sunday?
