~ No spamming
~ No arguing
~ Under any circumstances, NO "WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!"
~ You can discuss other BTBs here, it's fine. Don't shill your BTB needlessly, however
~ If you have a question regarding "What Should You Do," just go with your gut instinct
~ Do not discuss the Tournament here. There's an official discussion thread for that purpose.
I don't know what's happened to the jobber but I've been looking over the section the last week. Maybe he went to Vegas and found some slores to party with.
Yeah man. Those were hectic days. I remember the same would happen to me, and I'd be on the third page because some noob decided to post 4 new threads, along with the updates and spam in other threads. The former mods cracked down on that, which is a relief.
I actually thought the section was gonna pick up a couple of weeks ago, but I guess there's no summer rush this year. I've seen a bunch of good threads lately though. The quality is definitely getting better or so I hope.
I think the people BkB named are all above average. And having writers like Jae and KOP getting in the mix again certainly doesn't hurt. Plus, there are the ones out there with potential. I like reading those threads because some of the ideas are good. Execution may not be that great, but it takes time. It took me three or four terrible threads before I got to the one that was even worth reading.
Oh, and Stoj, I got your message. I totally forgot to reply, but yeah, it's all good man.
Didn't use it for the rest of 08, came back in mid 09. Couldn't remember my user/pass and didn't want to log into my old email to retrieve it cause it was hacked.
I started a new one, pm'd one of the admins, told them the story and they siad as long as I don't spam up the place they are ok with it.
I wanna read some Szumi or ruderrocket, probably cause they did the ECW threads.
The threads here are quite mediocre compared to when I was active a year or two ago. But having heaps of guys to exchange reviews with was half the fun I guess. It was always good being "in the loop" with the top bookers hehe
I think this place is doing OK at the moment as there are a lot of talented bookers producing entertaining work. The problem is that there is not as many of the old schoolers around and those few that are putting out shows are doing so rarely. When I joined here in 07, there were so many guys trying to get noticed and everyone was doing their best to put out great work and improve, I don't think there's the same mentality around here these days.

I get what you are saying, there aren't as many of the vets around here that are writting and setting the standards for the rookies to work hard and strive to get towards.
The problem isn't that some of this section's best writers have moved on. The problem is that there aren't any new writers on the horizon. BkB is the only writer who has really developed himself in the past six/twelve months and has made people take notice. crooked_reflection is also someone who got my attention with his match in the recent BTB Tournament (yes, I am the one who judged yours and Bradley's matches).
It takes time to develop the art of being able to look at your own work and realise how you can improve in your future work, but in order to progress, you need to do it at some point.

Well I just started a new thread but I want to say that while the "attitude era of BTB" has passed, it seems like there's some threads that are really starting to catch on, and with HoFs like Wolfy, myself, and a few others booking again, it seems like a new era of BTB is on the horizon.
I wonder who of us newer ones will stick around. I know I for one, are in it for the longhaul... My concentration isnt the best so takes a bit longer for me to write them, but I'm willing to learn.
Regarding the introduction of new title belts what do people feel on the matter. Do people prefer reading and writing a tournament, battle royal, one off match or handing the belt to a wrestler?
Handing the title: Way to kill the credability of the superstar and the title itself.
Battle Royal: It's not really a wrestling match, it's just throwing people over a rop a few feet high. Should a title not be decided in a standard wrestling match where wrestling actually matters?
A one-off match could be fine I guess, but why do only those two/three/four guys get the shot? What makes them so special? Unless you could make a story out of it, I'd not be a fan.
A tournament is the best way to go. 8, 12 or 16 man ftw. I always aim for 12 or 16 to make it really matter.

I would like to ask a few questions two help me sort through ideas on a possible upcoming BTB.
Would you rather read a BTB with one 45-man roster or a BTB with two 30-man rosters? Two 30-man rosters, but both are quite large (the latter is more realistic, however).
Do you think five singles championships and two pairs of tag team championships are too much for a BTB? Two pairs of tag titles is too many, unless you mean 2 tag team championships.
Do you find stable wars entertaining? Anything is entertaining if you book it right, including stable wars.
Do you find very detailed recaps acceptable for regular PPVs? (Not WrestleMania, SummerSlam, etc.) Absolutely.
Is five weeks too long a gap between PPVs? No, not at all. Some people are in favour of only 6 PPVs a year, so it's completely up to you.
Really, those questions are about how you want to write and what you want to book. Would you feel more comfortable with two shows or one? How often do you think you should be building for Pay-Per-Views/how often do you want to write them? In what style do you want to write?
See what I mean? These questions are questions you should be deciding yourself.
