Default WWE NXT: Season One

Beginning Tuesday April 26th, 2005 WWE will begin to air a new show in it's programming lineup. The new show, WWE NXT will feature eight of WWE's brightest and talented upcoming superstars that train in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Each NXT Rookie will have a WWE “Pro” that will guide them and teach them the “ropes” of the WWE. The show will run fifteen weeks and will air on UPN on Tuesday nights starting on April 26th, 2005 and will run for one hour and is currently slated to end on August 2nd, 2005. There is a possibility WWE extends the show a few weeks but that will not be known until the ratings start to come in.

Each week, the eight WWE Pros (whom will be announced with their respective NXT rookies) will each come together at the conclusion of each episode and vote on a weekly poll (starting with the Week 3 episode) that will let each rookie know where they stand with the WWE Pros. There is a criteria that the WWE Pros will vote on regarding the Poll and it is based on the following:

The Win-Loss Record
Strength of Opponent
Character
Microphone Skills
And…a few other small criteria determined by the Pros.

Also, each week the eight rookies will be ordered from 1 to 8 with one being the highest ranked rookie and eight the lowest, the eighth one will be eliminated starting with Week Nine. No pro can vote for his own rookie under any circumstances. Each week a new poll will be released afterwards with the next lowest rookie being the next one to be sent home. Once all but one is eliminated, we will finally have our first ever WWE NXT Winner. Who will be WWE’s NXT Breakout Star?

Tune in tomorrow as the first of the eight NXT rookies (along with his WWE Pro) will be announced exclusively here tomorrow on WWE.com!

This looks good KOP. Hopefully since you're starting in 2005 you'll be using some different people that I actually might know!

This is awesome! I've been dying to see a plain and strict NXT thread, and in order for it to succeed it had to be by a person who can commit to it. The other NXT threads were ubber failures in my opinion but that's because the users weren't committed enough. This is gonna be awesome! I wish you the best of luck, man! Knock it out of the park and stick with it!

Glad to see you back KOP.

I'm interested to see who you use as the rookies, seeing as your starting the show in 2005. Can't really comment much else, since you haven't posted anything about the rookies yet.

Good luck.

Good looks here, def. different approach. I don't know this program since I haven't watched any kind of wrestling for the past three years. Anyways, best of luck.

Nice! The best part about this is probably that it's starting in 2005, which means it won't be the new talent now, which readers know little about, but it'll be talent that's already out, and successful. Guys like Carlito, Chris Masters, CM Punk, Bobby Lashley, and etc. could very well be rookies. You could also use TNA wrestlers that "signed" over to WWE. It's definitely nice to see you back KOP, and great to see a thread with great potential. Good luck with this, and can't wait for what's next!

Expecting perhaps Lashley, Kennedy and Punk to show up as rookies. Could be some batch of talent to use here. I think this will be a good project for you KOP, as it shouldnt be too time consuming with one, one hour show each week. Looking forward to seeing how you work it differently to WWE.

Welcome back

Frankie "The Future" Kazarian

Height: 6’1
Weight: 215 Lbs.
Hometown: Anaheim, CA
WWE Pro: Chris Jericho

“The Future” Frankie Kazarian is the first NXT rookie to be announced and will be coming to NXT as one of the smaller superstars on season one. Kazarian surely isn’t the biggest guy out there but he is one of the toughest! Kazarian is a decorated champion on the Independent scene having won several titles but Kazarian knows that these titles mean nothing in the WWE. Kazarian is going to be guided by another decorated champion in the WWE, Chris Jericho. Jericho told us at WWE.com that he’s heard a few things about Kazarian on the independent scene but was quick to dismiss that Kazarian is going to immediately be able to make it in the WWE. “He’s going to have to work really hard because there are going to be seven other talented young up and comers gunning for the same thing he wants - to be the next breakout star. I have no doubt though that he is capable of making it to the top and who not better to lead him than Chris Jericho?”

Kazarian was reached for comment on how he feels about being the first superstar announced for the first ever season of NXT. “I’m here for one reason and that is to simply prove that I belong in the WWE. I know without a doubt that I am better than all of the seven other men in NXT and I have no doubts at all about that. Just know that they call me “The Future” and well ladies and gentlemen, “The Future” is now!

NXT rookies beware, you’ve been warned that it is now “The Future”.

Default Re: WWE NXT: Season One

Due to inactivity the last few days and me being busy over the weekend, here are the rest of the seven NXT rookies. Look for a preview soon and the first show to follow. FYI, Punk, Lashley, Burchill, and others have been left out for reasons. I didn't want to stack the first season and not have that many people to really use over the next few seasons. That's why there are some "duds" if you want to call it that.

Seth Skyfire

Picture: N/A

Height: 5’10
Weight: 195 Lbs.
Hometown: Birmingham, AL
WWE Pro: The Big Show

Such an interesting tandem that The Big Show and Seth Skyfire are going to make due to the Big Show being the World’s Largest Athlete and the WWE’s largest athlete and Skyfire being NXT’s smallest rookie. Skyfire might be short on height but he is not short on heart and determination. Skyfire is known throughout WWE’s “minor leagues” as one of WWE’s toughest fighting superstars and will look to immediately come to NXT and make a big impact. Skyfire certainly will have some guidance and help with Big Show whom is a former WWE Champion. Whether Skyfire will be able to overcome his size disadvantage against the rest of the seven other NXT rookies will be Skyfire’s decision to make.

************
************
************
************
************
************
************

"The Natural" Nick Nemeth

Height: 6’0
Weight: 221 Lbs.
Hometown: Cleveland, OH
WWE Pro: Christian

The pairing of “The Natural” Nick Nemeth along with “Captain Charisma” Christian surely will work out just right as Nemeth is just as confident in his abilities as is Captain Charisma. Nemeth comes to NXT clearly bent on running over the seven other rookies and becoming the first ever NXT winner. Nemeth is notoriously known throughout OVW as the blonde haired superstar that refers to himself constantly as “The Natural”. Whether he “naturally” attained his abilities or not, the world will find out on NXT!

************
************
************
************
************
************
************

Ken Doane

Height: 6’1
Weight: 220 Lbs.
Hometown: Worcester, MA
WWE Pro: Rey Mysterio

The youngest superstar on NXT, Ken Doane, is only nineteen years old as he prepares to embark on the journey towards becoming WWE’s next breakout star. His WWE Pro? Rey Mysterio. The former Cruiserweight and current WWE Tag Team Champion is well decorated in professional wrestling lore ranging from his runs in ECW to WCW to now WWE. Doane g to have to listen to Mysterio as his pro and let Mysterio whom knows what he is talking about guide him towards the top. Doane’s biggest disadvantage will be his age as he will most likely be very gullible and it could hurt him if he doesn’t listen to his Pro and falls prey to the rest of the NXT rookies.

************
************
************
************
************
************
************

Brent Albright

Height: 6’0
Weight: 230 Lbs.
Hometown: Tulsa, OK
WWE Pro: Chris Benoit

Perhaps the best pairing of all NXT rookies and WWE Pros would be the pairing of Brent Albright and Chris Benoit whom both possess very similar styles in the ring. Albright is a very skilled and knowledgeable wrestler whom will have a former World Champion showing him the ropes on what it takes to be a WWE superstar. Albright is well known throughout the wrestling world and it seems as if he could be a favorite towards becoming NXT’s first ever champion. Albright must adapt to Benoit’s “hard knock style” of teaching and he should be very successful in NXT.

************
************
************
************
************
************
************

Aaron "Idol" Stevens

Height: 6’4
Weight: 237 Lbs.
Hometown: Detroit, MI
WWE Pro: Booker T

Aaron Stevens better known as “Idol Stevens” knows a thing or two about living in a rough area as Stevens is from Detroit. His WWE Pro, Booker T knows the same thing as Booker T was born and raised in Houston, Texas brought up in a very hard situation. But just like Booker T, Stevens can do something about it and make the most of the situation but that’s Stevens situation to make. Stevens does not seem to well liked already as rumor has it that Stevens was heard shouting backstage that he’s already won the competition. Stevens is known for being brash and arrogant but he must back up his words if he has any desire in winning NXT.

************
************
************
************
************
************
************

Antonio "The Promise" Thomas

Height: 6’1
Weight: 235 Lbs.
Hometown: Panama City, FL
WWE Pro: Edge

The ever flamboyant Antonio “The Promise” Thomas sure is the most interesting character in NXT as he brings a different “style” to the show that surely is going to bring some interesting moments to the first season of NXT. Thomas known for his bright pink trunks and his different style of wrestling is going to have a certainly interesting time with his WWE Pro and current Money in the Bank briefcase holder Edge. Edge, whom is known for his no-nonsense style is certainly going to have a great time trying to show Thomas the way in the WWE and if Thomas was smart, he wouldn’t get on Edge’s wrong side like every other person in WWE.

************
************
************
************
************
************
************

Ken Kennedy

Height: 6’2
Weight: 242 Lbs.
Hometown: Green Bay, WI
WWE Pro: John Bradshaw Layfield

Ken Kennedy meet John Bradshaw Layfield. If ever there was another great pairing, these two match! Ken Kennedy, the young up and coming brash superstar will be paired with former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield whom just like Kennedy is not afraid to speak his mind. Kennedy certainly is notorious in OVW for speaking his mind and most likely won’t be afraid to do so on NXT. The main problem that could arise between JBL and Kennedy would be that they cannot co-exist which could lead to bad results for Kennedy. But whether or not that happens remains to be seen!

I know that you have been wrestling with this idea for a while (pun intended), so it's intriguing to see you finally go ahead with it. The concept is very interesting, so hopefully it's execution will be just as good. Good luck mate.
