TNA Wrestling

~ Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling ~

~ The Backstory ~
Panda Energy sold TNA Wrestling to the JLR Media Conglomerate, meaning the immediate departure of President Dixie Carter and her business associate. The company has since installed 32 year-old Jay DeSanto as the new president. He has since made the following changes to TNA, affecting both the in-ring product and behind the scenes dealings.

~ Changes ~
- Eric Bischoff has now taken on the permanent role as the on-screen authority figure.

- The Knockouts Division has been disbanded. TNA will no longer feature female wrestling, although some female talent will be retained.

- As a result of this, the Knockouts Single and Tag Titles have both been discontinued, along with the now defunct Global Championship and X Division Championship.

- The company will now run annual tours in Japan, Mexico, Germany and the United Kingdom.

- A new way of earning titles shots has been introduced for both the Singles and Tag Divisions. A wrestler or tag team becomes eligible to challenge for a title as soon as they earn three points. These points are racked up by winning matches which are specified as Point Matches. As soon as they get the three points, they can challenge the reigning Champion(s) for the title(s). However, if they lose a match, the wrestler or team loses all of their points and must start again. Essentially, when a singles competitor or duo wins three matches in a row, they are eligible to have a title shot

- The following talent have all been released effective immediately:
Angelina Love
Brutus Magnus
Dr. Stevie
Eric Young
Hamada
Hulk Hogan
Jeff Hardy
Jeff Jarrett
Jesse Neal
Jimmy Hart
Lacey Von Erich
Madison Rayne

Re: TNA Wrestling

You released Anderson, Hardy and Jarrett? Any explanation? Nonetheless, best of luck with this thread.

Re: TNA Wrestling

Looks really good so far. You can clearly write very well so hopefully you're a good booker too! Just wondering though, why was Hardy and Anderson released yet The Band and RVD still stay? Also, what date is this set in? Hopefully you'll clear that up!

Good luck!

Re: TNA Wrestling

You released a couple of guys and changed the roster around, quite the opposite to what I would have done however you probably have planned ahead and have reasoning behind your decisions. Hopefuly this works out well for you.
I do suggest using colors and other sort of presentation things for upcoming posts in the near future.

Best of luck.

Anderson's gone simply because I have never been a fan of the guy and think there are much more talented guys who could fill his role (controversial opinion, I know). Jeff Hardy is out because I think in this day and age, a company should not hire a wrestler who is in the middle of a drugs trial where he could end up in jail; it's unprofessional and could potentially ruin long-term booking plans. If Hardy is acquited, I would consider bringing him back. As for Jarrett, I wanted to bring TNA into a new era and could see no better way of doing this than severing the final tie to the old Nashville days. Double J has been stale since '03-'04 anyway.

Re: TNA Wrestling

I like the removal of some of those old guys and the talentless fucks as well. Don't mind the death of the KO division either as I have no interest in women's wrestling. Although I do think that Anderson and Waltman can be valuable if used correctly. I don't see Raven on either list.. I feel he is a valuable talent myself though and hope you kept him.

Looking forward to this one.

Re: TNA Wrestling

The only thing I really hate is the fact that you have removed the X-Division, that's what made TNA a show worth watching personally, their best and only 5 Star match was for the X-Division championship. Your choice though, I'll see how this goes.
