WWE Newswire

~ WWE officials believe that WrestleMania was a good event, it wasn’t as big as Mania’s before but was still a good, fun event. The event saw the two top titles change hands, Triple H dropped the World Championship to Batista and JBL dropped the WWE Title to John Cena. Both John Cena and Batista will have a lot of pressure on them as they are expected to lead the WWE into a new era.

~ Some roster altercations have been made, Matt Hardy has decided to take a break from Wrestling, but should be back in a few months time. Meanwhile, in injury news, Eugene is still in rehab for an injury sustained at New Years Revolution. On the Smackdown side of things, Rob Van Dam is still a long time away from recovering from a knee injury.

~ WWE have signed three wrestlers, these three wrestlers are former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble, Noble returns to the WWE after being released some months ago. Meanwhile, another Cruiserweight joining the WWE is Matt Sydal. Sydal and Noble are expected to wrestle on Smackdown, which will help the Cruiserweight division. The third wrestler that has signed is former independent star, CM Punk. Punk comes highly praised by a number of current WWE stars and it should be interesting to see what WWE can do with him.

~ A few changes to the PPV line-up have been made as there is no longer a ECW – One Night Stand event. It has been replaced by Night of Champions, but this is not 100% as officials within WWE are thinking about bringing the King of the Ring event back.

~ The year WWE draft lottery will be back, the plan is to hold the event at Saturday Night Main Event. The event however, has not got a date as of yet.

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

2005 in my eyes was the end of the Ruthless Agression Era which then began the New Era with Cena and Batista becoming the champions. It is an exceptional time to pick from where you have tons of talent in the upper cards, an exceptional tag team division and lots of talent to work with along with tons of fun names to bring into the company from developmental in the near future.

You have tons of great feuds to pick up from, Angle/Shawn which in my eyes oculd have gone longer and maybe until Summerslam, Cena/JBL, Rey/Eddie and Batsita/Triple H. Along with the first MITB which should be interesting.

Your graphics are very nice, proffesional along with the layout, it shows that you really took the time to make it presentable.

Great to see KOTR back as a PPV, always liked it and I think you have lots of lower talent that could benefit from it well.

Best of luck to you and you're thread. You have the tools, you have the material... Let's see what you can build out of this.

I'll pop in every now and then to check out the shows.

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

This is an awesome time period to begin with. I'm going to enjoy how this will be handled as the opening post shows a lot of promise considering the great presentation. You have a lot of potential feuds to pick up from, especially Cena/JBL, Batista/HHH, and Angle/Shawn.

The hirings of CM Punk, Matt Sydal, and Jamie Noble definitely brings a smile to my face and I'm glad that King of the Ring may be coming back although that's entirely up to you. The graphics are also very professional, nice work on those.

Great presentation and such has got me hooked to this so far. I'm hoping that this thread can prosper!

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

This is one of my favorite periods of time in the WWE so I am really excited to see what you have planned. I like that you've brought in CM Punk, I wonder whether he will go to Raw or Smackdown, I'll guess Raw. Really excited at how you will book the cruiserweight division too as that was one of my favorite parts of Smackdown/Velocity during this time period.

You've got me hooked.

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

Like others have said, '05 is a pretty great time to start, and since no BTB has started from this time and succeeded to the best of my knowledge, you've got a clean canvas to work with. I was starting to get into your last project too, so hopefully this is the one that lasts.

Best of luck.

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

Glad to see you back in the BTB game Calum. Not too fond of 05' but considering I read some of the stuff in your past thread, I'm sure you can come up with some great ideas. Good luck with this project.

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

Are you going to keep RVD or let him go? If he's so far away it would seem unlikely he'll stay?

Looking forward to reading this, 2005 was fun and this looks like it will be too.

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

Thanks for all the comments everyone, I really appreciate. Anyway, here is the RAW preview. Show should be up in a few days.

WWE Monday Night RAW
3rd April 2005

Last night was the biggest event of the year within the World Wrestling Entertainment, WrestleMania 21. WrestleMania was a huge event that saw the World Heavyweight Championship change hands, the former Champion, Triple H lost his match to former friend and student; “The Animal” Batista. Batista won his first World Heavyweight Title by pinning “The Game” Triple H, with a Batista Bomb. Tonight, the World Champion, Batista opens the show, what will he have to say? And will Triple H want his rematch?

“The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels lost his match to Smackdown Superstar, Kurt Angle at WrestleMania, now Shawn Michaels has requested sometime in the ring to address the WWE Fans, Kurt Angle and his loss last night. Another RAW Superstar who lost his match last night, was “The Legend Killer” Randy Orton. Possibly the youngest and brightest star in the WWE, Randy Orton challenged The Undertaker and attempted to end his WrestleMania winning streak. However, “The Deadman” had other ideas, as he pinned Orton with the Tombstone, to keep the streak alive.

Last saw the first ever Money In The Bank Ladder match take place. This match was filled with high risk moves, moves that could possibly end some ones career, but nonetheless six men put it all out there to try and win the contract. This contract gives the holder the opportunity to challenge the top Champion, any time from now until the next WrestleMania. The victor of said match, was the opportunistic Edge. Edge seized the moment again as he hit Chris Benoit off the ladder with a steel chair, reached up and grabbed the briefcase. What will Edge do tonight, could he cash his briefcase in on Batista?

Trish Stratus defeated Christy Hemme to retain the coveted WWE Women’s Championship. Christy Hemme, who was trained by Trish’s old rival, Lita, will get a rematch tonight, as she faces Trish once more for the Women’s Title. Lita will be at ringside for what should be a fun divas bout.

Also scheduled for tonight, is a ten man battle royal to determine Shelton Benjamin’s opponent at Backlash. Shelton is the current Intercontinental Champion and will be at the announce table for this bout. These are the ten men that are taking part in the battle royal – Christian, Chris Masters, Garrison Cade, Kane, Maven, Muhammad Hassan, Ric Flair, Simon Dean, Tajiri & William Regal. Who will Shelton Benjamin face at Backlash?

The team of William Regal and Tajiri will find out the number one contenders to their World Tag Team Championships. Sylvain Grenier and Rob Conway will battle The Hurricane and Rosey to determine the number one contendership. Both teams are in the hunt for tag team gold and the Champions should be watching, to see which one of these two tandems will get the next shot.

For all this and more, tune in to Monday Night RAW, on Spike TV!

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

Show looks pretty solid here. While the card isn't stacked as of yet, finding some title contenders isn't a bad thing, and this show looks like it'll go a long way to setting up Backlash for you. The Batista promo should be interesting, even if Batista was far from stellar on the mic at this time, because he should have enough to talk about. A possible rematch with Triple also wouldn't be too bad, although I'd like to see you really do something different with the feud. With the way the preview is set out, I'm also thinking we'll get Orton interrupting Michaels. Either way, that should be a good promo too.

Looking forward to the show to see what you can do with this new thread and time period.

Re: World Wrestling Entertainment 2005 - The Future's Bright

Decent preview, did what it needed to do. Rewinding and recaping the Raw main event of Wrestlemania and what the Raw aftermath will hold.
The battle royal idea is a nice touch, something you don't often see however it can be used smartly to start numerous side feuds too not just for Benjamin's title, much like Kurt and Shawn of that mania's year. However, please have Regal or Chrisitan win it.

Speaking of Kurt Angle, I am sure he will be at Raw this week to continue thier feud. Raw should be explosive.

I am sure Orton will call the Undertaker out only to play more mind games with him. Kane may make an appearance wit him backstage being his brother.

Triple H should probably call out Batista and have an encounter which will leave them tearing each other appart before Backlash for a rematch in some sort of gimmick match. Should be great.

Oh and please, please, please, whatever you do with Benjamin's future do not bring in the big mumma gimmick.
