I hope I don't get shat on but what's the big hype all about with Sean O'Haire? I only remember him from '03 with Piper. I also remember the video hypes of him being Satan or something, but nothing ever came from that.

Re: BTB Discussion Thread - May 2010

There is no big hype with O'Haire, at least not from what I see. I'm just one of his fans left over from the WCW days. I never saw his WWE run except through videos. And he was not Satan, he was a Devil's Advocate. They should've ran with it. Him as the big, bad heel and Brock Lesnar on the opposite side of the spectrum being the big, badass face. A match b/w the two would've been epic. Problem is, his fundamentals and basics were lacking. The WCW Power Plant didn't exactly care how technically sound you were. Just ask Goldberg.

Re: BTB Discussion Thread - May 2010

O'Haire had a tremendous presence and potential. He was a very imposing guy (especially with that crazy hair he had in WWE) that could do impressive things on the ring, and had decent enough mic skills. He had all the tools to be a main-eventer, but a bad attitude is what held him back.

Re: BTB Discussion Thread - May 2010

If you'd push Carlito into a mid-card title then I'd say Rosa Mendes.

If you'd push Carlito into very very high on the card I'd go with Armando Alejandro Estrrrrrrrrrrrrada-aha!

Carlito also had a bodyguard called Jesus (pronounced: Hay-Sooos) back on Smackdown after a month or two when he first debuted.

Re: BTB Discussion Thread - May 2010

Why does Carlito need Armando Alejandro? He already has the mic skills. All Carlito needs is a piece of ass to accommodate him. I never found the appeal in giving someone with mic skills a manager with mic skills. You give the manager with mic skills to someone who desperately needs it.

I see the mic skills point but I also see a manager as someone that can help with some interference during the matches. This might make it believable for say Carlito to knock off John Cena or another main eventer in a match. There is long history of top heels with great mic skills that had managers for just that purpose (Rick Rude, Ric Flair, Curt Hennig to name a few). It just gives some people more of an advantage I think.
