TNA THURSDAY IMPACT ON SPIKE PREVIEW

THE ICON'S FATE
• In this week's main event, "The Icon" Sting is going to take on "The Monster" Abyss. At Slammiversary, Sting was inches away from winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, but he was pushed off the ladder, allowing Jeff Jarrett to win instead. A win over Abyss will help Sting get back on the right track just days before the Triple Threat World Title match at Victory Road. Will Sting come out victorious? Or will Abyss steal the much-needed win away from Sting?

A PUBLIC EMERGENCY
Jim Cornette is scheduled to be at the iMPACT Zone! this Thursday in order to hold the first ever "Public Emergency Meeting" with each and every member of the TNA roster. He has promised that his decisions will change the entire landscape of TNA Wrestling as we know it. Cornette has also promised that one member will be given the pink slip! Who will be fired? Tune into iMPACT! to find out!

Also, Ron "The Truth" Killings will seek for redemption when he takes on Lance Hoyt!

Plus, more matches for Victory Road will be announced.

All this and more on Thursday iMPACT! on Spike at 11/10c!

Glad to see this is still going as I had gotten a bit worried.

Preview is a bit small, although whath's there is certainly interesting. Abyss vs. Sting is definitely a big main event, and while neither man is a great wrestler, should at least be a solid match. Jim Cornette's public emergency seems more interesting to me though. What is this 'emergency' and who will be fired? I'm not sure what the answers are to either questions, although I love the fact that you're utlising Cornette as the new authority figure following his debut at Slammiversary. Killings vs. Hoyt is also a nice little undercard match that you've got announced there.

Excited for iMPACT!. You know I'll be reading.

TNA iMPACT! 7/6/06

“This is TNA…The New Face of Professional Wrestling”

Last Week on iMPACT…

• Cage defeats Petey before delivering an important message in the iMPACT Zone as he guarantees to take back the title he never lost!
• Rhino beats Brown, but a post-match beatdown is ensued by Brown. They start to brawl before security pulls them away from each other.
• AMW makes their intentions clear: to regain the NWA World Tag Team titles at Victory Road!
• Senshi wins the X Division Championship by beating Samoa Joe and Sonjay Dutt. During the match, Joe was laid out by Scott Steiner with a steel chair, while Senshi capitalized with The Warrior’s Way and the three count. Senshi stood tall with the X Division title over his head to end last week’s show.

*Opening Video*
*Pyro*

Mike Tenay & Don West greet us for another jam-packed edition of iMPACT! It will feature an emergency meeting held by the Director of TNA Management, Jim Cornette! Also, “The Icon” Sting steps into the ring against “The Monster” Abyss in the main event!

*What’s Up?*

The familiar tune of Ron “The Truth” Killings is heard all over the iMPACT Zone! as he performs a little dance for a decent pop. Killings is trying to avenge the loss he suffered at the hands of Jeff Jarrett two weeks ago with a win tonight.

*Valor*

Lance Hoyt steps through the tunnel right after Truth entered the ring. He slowly paces to the ring and makes a few rock star poses that barely get a reaction. Mercifully, the bell rings as both wrestlers start to circle each other.

Ron “The Truth” Killings vs Lance Hoyt

In a match purely based on competition with neither man as a heel, Killings tried to redeem his loss as he unloads on Hoyt in the early going. However, his determination may have gotten the better of him as he does not think clearly and falls victim to Hoyt’s power game. Hoyt begins to overpower Truth as he lifts him over with a sidewalk slam. It ends up becoming a back and forth contest as Truth counters Hoyt’s strength, but he is not able to capitalizes. The finish occurs when Truth is able to deliver a bunch of forearm shots in the corner. Hoyt stumbles and Truth takes advantage by knocking him down with a dropkick. Truth charges at Hoyt, but is grabbed by the throat. Luckily, he is able to kick his way free as he runs off the ropes. Truth ducks a big boot attempt by Hoyt and bounces off the opposite set of ropes. He takes Hoyt off his feet with a corkscrew flying forearm. As Hoyt is on his knees, trying to pick himself up, Killings rebounds off the ropes and connects with the Axe Kick for the three count in a short TV match.

Winner: Ron “The Truth” Killings

Killings can barely celebrate or dance for that matter as his music switches to the theme of the Latin American Xchange. Konnan enters from the heel tunnel with Homicide & Hernandez walking behind him. Dave Penzer passes his mic to Konnan as Hernandez intimidates him with a look filled with anger. All three members of LAX get in the ring to some heat and Konnan goes away on the mic.

Konnan wants everybody to listen and to listen good. He reminds the fans that they all have their problems, but LAX was able to do what half of America couldn’t and that was to take action! Konnan explains that they went on strike to take action for being discriminated by the fans. It becomes apparent that LAX will not wrestle until they get the respect that they deserve. Heat fills the iMPACT Zone! soon after as the crowd voices their displeasure for Konnan and the Latin American Xchange.

Konnan reveals that the reason they are out here is because the revolution is looking for expansion. He feels that there are many wrestlers in the back that are disrespected and are free to join LAX! However, there is one man in particular that they are after and that man is Ron “The Truth” Killings! Killings is shocked as Konnan turns to him and asks if he wants to join the revolution. The crowd chants “Please don’t do it!” as Hoyt tries to talk him out of it, but Truth picks up a mic anyways…

“First of all, I’m not Latino, and secondly, unlike you, I’m willing to entertain each and every single fan in the iMPACT Zone! There is no way I’m going to turn my back on T-N-A!”. A cheap pop for Truth, as Hoyt nods his head while standing beside him. It sends a message to Konnan that he doesn’t want any part of the Latin American Xchange. Konnan is easily infuriated and storms towards Killings, but Homicide & Hernandez hold him back. Killings asks what happened to Konnan. “Whatever happened to the Konnan that had fun with me and BG?”

The crowd slightly pops for Konnan’s former endeavor as “3LK! 3LK!” chants are heard in the background. Konnan responds by saying that chapter of his life never got him anywhere!
He tells Truth that having fun will only hold him back from his goal and that is to lead by example! “The only thing that will change is TNA when we wipe out everyone that stands in our quest for power! So Truth, if you’re not with us, you’re against us!”

Konnan drops the mic as Homicide and Hernandez charge towards Killings and Hoyt. Homicide beats down Killings with forearms before stomping away at him. Meanwhile, Hernandez drives a knee to the midsection of Hoyt and throws him out of the ring. Homicide proceeds to choke the living hell out of Killings as big Hernandez launches Hoyt back-first into the guardrail as Hoyt yells out in pain. We then cut to the ring where Homicide takes Killings to the corner where he delivers shot after shot to the skull as Konnan encourages him on. On the outside, a crashing thud is heard as Hernandez whips Hoyt into the steel steps and for good measure, he suplexes him on the floor. Hernandez lifts up the apron, looks under the ring, and grabs a steel chair. Hoyt gets up, but HERNANDEZ SMASHES HIS SKULL WITH THE CHAIR! In the ring, Homicide charges at Killings with a running boot, but Killings evades the blow. He takes down Homicide with a Lou Thesz Press, succeeded with multiple shots to the head. Killings is fired up and turns around to face the fans, only to see Hernandez throw him across the ring. Soon after, Hernandez & Homicide hold Killings as Konnan is able to get several shots in. Killings hits the canvas, but is still showing some life. Konnan is commanding Hernandez to finish off Killings. He places Killings between his legs before lifting him up as he connects with ~THE BORDER TOSS! The Latin American Xchange celebrate over the fallen Killings while the fans express some heat for their brutal actions!

*Cut backstage*

Jim Cornette is in his office as he just witnessed everything on his monitor. With JB holding a mic, Cornette asks who allowed them to do whatever they want. He tells JB that it’s guys like LAX that make it harder to do business with, but one way or another, they will get what they deserve! “Konnan talked about change and damn right there’s gonna’ be change! I’m the one who’s calling the shots now and what I say, goes! I will put my foot down and I won’t take sh*t from anybody! You mess with me and you’re guaranteed trouble! Just ask Jeff Jarrett! He has no right to question my authority or anyone else for that matter! And I expect that every member of the locker room would come out for the public emergency meeting later on tonight because I guarantee that someone will be FIRED!”

*Commercial break*

We return to iMPACT! with Cassidy Riley already in the ring, pacing around and looking for his next order, so to speak.

Larry Zbyszko is on the screen and asks him (Cassidy) if he was brainwashed by Raven. A following would be the last thing on the mind of Larry Z because he thinks Raven shouldn’t be anywhere near the title. He rephrases it by saying that Raven shouldn’t even hold a job because he’s not the ideal wrestler he would have in his company. “But if you insist on assisting Raven, then I have no choice, but to punish you! Cassidy, allow me to introduce to you your opponent……..SCOTT STEINER!”.

*Holla If You Hear Me*

Sirens blast through the iMPACT Zone! as “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner stretches his shoulders. He stops in the middle of the ramp to show one lucky “freak” his huge arm before strolling his way to the ring. Steiner slides in and poses in the corner with his abnormal biceps. He then stares at Cassidy before charging at him in his corner, throwing rights and lefts as the bell rings.

Scott Steiner vs Cassidy Riley

Unlike the previous back-and-forth match, this one was mainly, if not all Steiner. Right from the opening bell to near the end, Steiner decimated Riley with clotheslines, attacks in the corner, and suplex variations. If I said that Steiner used about every move in moveset, it still wouldn’t mean much. Cassidy never got any offense by the time Steiner finished him off. After an overhead belly-to-belly suplex from the top, Steiner locks in the Steiner Recliner as Cassidy taps out like a b*tch in a matter of seconds!

Winner: Scott Steiner

The referee holds up Steiner’s arm, but he pulls it away from the referee to celebrate on his own for a bit. Samoa Joe enters the ring and stands behind Steiner. Steiner hops off the top turnbuckle to see Joe. The Samoan Submission Machine spins Steiner around and jabs him twice before rocking him with an enziguri! With Steiner on the canvas, Joe grabs him by the throat and locks in the Coquina Clutch! Steiner desperately grasps for air while Joe adds more pressure. Steiner has nowhere to go as Samoa Joe chokes him unconscious!

*Cut to Video Package*

Over the last month, Shane Douglas has been taking The Naturals under his wing, giving them direction and discipline. He has been training them to their limits in order to find their true potential. Douglas motivates Stevens & Douglas to have the desire to start from the bottom and work their way to the top. He puts them over as The Newly Franchised Naturals and they will earn their redemption next week!

*Commercial break*

Jeff Jarrett is backstage with Abyss and James Mitchell, going through the purpose of tonight’s match: to take out Sting from Victory Road. Mitchell thinks of it as a chance to get up close with Sting and find out the driving force behind his beliefs. He says that both Sting and himself have stepped into the darkness, but it is Sting that has come out real monster! Mitchell says that it’s impossible to be perfect in an imperfect society! His weapon of mass destruction, “The Monster” Abyss will be the one to teach him a lesson through any means necessary. It will show that even Sting chose a path that will lead to bloodshed.

As Abyss & Mitchell leave for the upcoming match, Jarrett tells Cage that there’s no reason for him to come out unless he wants to be weakened before Victory Road. But even if Cage wants to help his buddy Sting, Jarrett is still inviting him to because they will still be at a disadvantage. Jarrett pulls out his guitar and if Cage decides to be brave, he will receive a shot for his troubles. Either way, Jarrett has a game plan to make sure Sting nor Cage (or both) will not make it out tonight in one peace.

*Down in the Catacombs*

Mitchell steps out first with “The Monster” Abyss not so far behind. Abyss is wrapped in chain, as he enters the ring with Mitchell. He poses with his arms crossed in the middle of the ring before waiting for the arrival of Sting.

*Slay Me*

The lights go out in the iMPACT! Zone as Sting’s music hits to a great ovation. Sting walks through the tunnel in his trademark trench coat, face paint, and baseball bat. The Icon hollers to the crowd with the bat in hand while walking down the ramp. He paces up the steel steps and into the ring where he delivers another holler to the crowd. Sting takes off his coat before taking a look at his opponent, Abyss. The bell rings as they circle each other to start the match…

“The Icon” Sting vs “The Monster” Abyss (w/James Mitchell)

Sting begins the match by drilling Abyss with right hands. He sends Abyss into the corner where he delivers several knife-edge chops until Abyss reverses a chop. The Monster hits a couple of shoulder thrusts on Sting before choking him with his boot. With Sting clutching on the ropes, the ref starts a standard 5 count to make sure the hold is released. Abyss releases his boot at 4 before taking Sting out of the corner and whipping him towards the ropes. Sting reverses the whip, but he walks into a big boot by Abyss. Abyss poses in the centre with his arms crossed to a chorus of boos. James Mitchell is giving his monster instructions as Abyss picks up Sting. The Icon fights him off with several shots to the gut and a low dropkick that sends Abyss on one knee. Sting positions Abyss for a suplex, but The Monster blocks the move. He tucks under Sting and lifts him up with his arms. Abyss follows it up with a military press slam as Sting lands behind Abyss. Sting is feeling the effects of Abyss’ strength as the match slowly fades to a commercial break.

We come back from the commercial break and Abyss is seen applying a twisting chinlock onto Sting. The crowd is cheering Sting on as he makes it to his feet and shoots Abyss to the ropes. Sting charges head-on towards Abyss, but with no effect. Sting runs off the ropes and charges at Abyss one more time only to be picked up and dropped onto the canvas stomach first. Sting tends to his ribcage while Abyss has a pin attempt and only gets two. Abyss is not finished by a long shot as he whips Sting into the corner and squashes The Icon with a corner avalanche! As Sting stumbles, Abyss places him in a torture rack and connects with Shock Treatment for another two count.

Abyss appears to be livid, but Mitchell signals doomsday for Sting. Abyss shoots Sting to the ropes as The Icon’s arms are wrapped on the top rope. The Monster charges at Sting, only to receive a boot to the face. Sting runs towards Abyss and hits an inverted atomic drop followed by a clothesline that sends Abyss off his feet. Sting hollers to the crowd before grabbing the legs of Abyss. The Icon attempts to apply the Scorpion Deathlock, however he cannot fully lock in the hold! Abyss kicks away at Sting, and one kick manages to push Sting back first to the ropes. Sting bounces off the ropes as Abyss springs up and connects with the Black Hole Slam out of nowhere! Abyss hooks the leg…

But Sting gets the shoulder up in a very close nearfall!! Abyss thought it was 3, but the ref corrects him by telling him that it was a 2. Mitchell is just as angry as Abyss as he orders him to attack the ref. Abyss sets up the ref for a chokeslam, but Sting rolls him up for 2! Sting whips Abyss to the corner and connects with a Stinger Splash! The end is near as Sting grabs hold of Abyss and takes him over with the Scorpion Deathdrop! However, as the ref was going to count to three, James Mitchell pulls him out of the ring and delivers a shot to the face for the disqualification! This match is thrown out the window!

Winner: Sting by disqualification

An angered Sting pulls Mitchell in the ring and threatens to attack him. Mitchell begs for mercy as Sting puts his fist out. Just as Sting was about to strike, Jeff Jarrett ran down the ramp and attacked Sting from behind! Jarrett stomps all over Sting and beats him down until Christian Cage makes the save and chases off Jarrett to the ramp.

Jim Cornette appears from the back and demands that all the “inmates” need to stop what they’re doing. He wants them to get ready for the public emergency meeting that is going to take place right here……..right now! Suddenly, the locker room empties out as members make their way from the back as we head to the last commercial break of the evening.

*Commercial break*

iMPACT! returns with Jim Cornette in the middle of the ring, thanking everyone for coming to the first Emergency Meeting that is held for the public to see. Cornette is holding a clipboard full of announcements and he wants to get down to business as quickly as possible.

• First off, The Latin American Xchange’s so called “strike” will be abolished and they must return to the ring or they will be fired. Cornette saw that LAX attacked Ron “The Truth” Killings in a brutal fashion and he wants to make things right! He arranges a match between LAX against Ron “The Truth” Killings and fellow competitor, Lance Hoyt at Victory Road.

• Cornette then turns his attention to Sonjay Dutt. He informs Mr. Dutt that he has lost to Senshi on two occasions; once at Slammiversary and the other at the Triple Threat X Division Title match last week. However, Cornette has decided that he will get one more chance as it will be Dutt vs Senshi at Victory Road with the X Division gold on the line! He hopes that the third time’s the charm for Sonjay.

• Then, the Management Director focuses in on Scott Steiner and his bitter rivalry with one Samoa Joe! A huge pop echoes from the crowd for the mention of Samoa Joe as Joe is probably the most over man in TNA right now. He realized that things have gotten worse since Slammiversary with Steiner costing Joe the X Division Title and Joe choking out Steiner earlier tonight. However, it gave Cornette an idea. He will allow Samoa Joe and Scott Steiner to be let loose at Victory Road in a…..Last Man Standing Match! The only way to win is to incapacitate your opponent until the count of 10.

• Jim Cornette calls up Larry Zbyszko and Earl Hebner to the ring. He shuns Zbyszko and Hebner as the reason why Jarrett won the King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary. After going over the tape, he has concluded that Hebner tipped over the ladder (that Sting and Cage were on) by accident. On the other hand, Larry Zbyszko intentionally gave Christian Cage a low blow. In addition, he tried to play Management Director earlier on by booking a match with Steiner and Riley when he wasn’t allowed to. Therefore, TNA Management has stripped Larry Z from the Championship Committee and ol’ Jimmy has the power to do whatever he wants with Zbyszko’s contract! In other words, LARRY ZBYSZKO IS FIRED!!

Larry Z cannot believe this is happening as he begs Cornette in an attempt to get his job back. Cornette calls over security as they pull Zbyszko away from the ring. Hebner kicks Zbyszko in the groin before security drags him out of the iMPACT Zone! for good while the crowd chants “Na na na na, na na na na, hey-hey-hey, goodbye!” over and over again.

Cornette then asks the roster to head to the back except for the following wrestlers: Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, James Storm, Chris Harris, and Jeff Jarrett! The faces and heels stand on opposite sides of the ring as he announces the main event for next week, which will be Christian Cage, AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels vs Jeff Jarrett & AMW in a 6 Man Tag. Cage smiles as it looks like he will get on his hands on Jarrett just 3 days before the PPV. As Cornette leaves the ring, each man stares at their opponent (Cage-Jarrett, Styles-Harris, Daniels-Storm) with Styles and Daniels holding up their NWA World Tag Team Titles. The announcers emphatically put over this match as the one that can shift momentum into the winning team’s favor heading into the 2 major title matches at Victory Road before we fade to black.

iMPACT! Feedback

Was going to finish Wolfy’s review first, but it’s taking longer than expected, so I’ll use this as a way to break it up.

The summary of last week and hype of the big announcements and match later tonight is a good way to kick us off. Gets us in the mood for the show.

Killings vs. Hoyt seems like a nice way to get us kicked off. Killings is a pretty good guy to open in general since he has a lot of energy and should get the crowd behind him, while Hoyt was always fairly over as a face in TNA too (God knows why. He was pretty average imo). As a face vs. face match, I like that you made a point of telling us it was a back and forth match. The finish, while nothing too exciting, was fine too, putting Killings over pretty well, while leaving Hoyt look alright due to it being back and forth as a whole.

LAX coming out? Good to see them featured since they began to own as a team around this time. Konnan’s no respect shtick works fine, and it fits in with why the LAX gimmick worked with them as heels. As for him looking to expand the revolution, well, that’s alright, but Killings? Something tells me he wouldn’t fit in the Latin American Xchange too well, because, well, he’s not Latin. At least Killings pointed that out. The reference to the old 3 Live Kru was also nice, and Konnan telling him the old “if you’re not with us, you’re against us” was good too. LAX ultimately winning the brawl after jumping Killings and Hoyt was the right move since they’re better brawlers, they got the jump, and Hoyt and Killings had just been through a match. A nice way to start a feud, I guess, with the finishing touch of the Border Toss on Killings topping the segment off well. Pretty good star to the show.

Nice way to transition off to angry Cornette, with the hype of somebody being fired being played up well here.

Seems random that this Raven/Zbyszko feud has popped up now with Cassidy Riley in the middle since I don’t remember seeing this in the thread before (maybe I’m being forgetful though). Riley being squashed is a bit meaningless since I can’t see what you can do with him in the future, although it does get Steiner on the show with a nice victory. Joe running in to attack Steiner for revenge makes sense, although the way you wrote the run in was kind of choppy. The sentences were too short. Like this. It gets annoying. See what I mean? Use commas to make the sentences easier to read, and try to inject some emotion in there too by being a bit more descriptive, rather than so matter of fact about it. The way this was booked was okay, but like I said, the writing aspect wasn’t so good here.

Nice to see you continuing The Naturals/Shane Douglas storyline. Should be interesting to see what you do with them.

Nice little speech from Mitchell, giving some reason for the Abyss/Sting match. Jarrett’s speech was very weird, because at first it made me think that Christian Cage was in the room with him, then it seemed like Jarrett was talking to himself. I just don’t think the second part of the promo was necessary.

Good to see you’ve gone further in depth with the main event match here. Much like I said earlier in the Joe attack on Steiner, your sentences are much too short. Read through your main event yourself, and you’ll see that it’s very choppy, making it a bit of a bland reason, especially with, as I also mentioned before, a real lack of emotion. Aside from that, this match was pretty nice, with the counter into the Black Hole Slam from Abyss being a good move. Finisher kickouts aren’t something I usually like to see, especially on just a weekly show, but it was a nice match regardless, with the finish somewhat protecting Abyss. The Jarrett and Christian run ins were nice, although much like last week, the build between those three has been very limited in the lead-up to Victory Road, which is unfortunate. This did, however, set up for the public announcement from Cornette well.

Cornette just reeling off announcements seems a bit weird, although I guess it fits the gimmick of this ‘emergency meeting’. LAX vs. Killings & Hoyt is a nice match to be announced following earlier tonight, and fills out the lower portion of the Victory Road card well. Dutt vs. Senshi is also a good match, although I would have liked to have seen something from them tonight to continue the rivalry, or at least have Dutt come forward to make the challenge. Last Man Standing between Joe and Steiner? Pretty good gimmick match for the two since they’re two larger men. As for Larry Zbyszko being the man fired ... well, I’d be lying if I said I expected it. A bit of a letdown in a way, although it makes sense to get rid of him as he is no longer needed with Cornette now around. It also takes care of the firing without removing anyone major. The main event for next week is alright too, and hopefully it provides some hype for the two title matches headed into Victory Road, as thus far, I feel the hype has been lacking. Interesting style of promo, which I guess got its job done.

As a whole this was another solid offering without being spectacular. The promos for the most part seemed fine, although the match write-ups require more emotion and expanded sentences to make them less choppy, as I mentioned above. The hype for Victory Road has also been a bit iffy, so you might have to go into overdrive next week to really sell the matches. An alright show here, but there’s lots of room for improvement.

Rocker's TNA iMPACT! Feedback

First time reviewing in your thread, so forgive me if I make any errors.

Interesting way to begin the show with a match, Killings vs. Hoyt is a decent contest on paper and it's good that you showed their respect for one another throughout the match. I expected The Truth to win the match, which he did, and there had to be some aftermath, and it was taken up well with LAX. First of all, this strike they're going on sounds intruiging and well done for utilizing them well despite not competing. Konnan offering Ron a place in his faction was quite surprising, it would be interesting to see you branch out and include Americans in the LAX to offer a different taste to them, and you could say that it's Mexicans AND Americans who can be in it. Killings, in a typical babyface move, rejects it and reiterates that he wants to entertain the fans, which didn't surprise me, and their attack on Killings and Hoyt was good, Konnan's line of "You're with us or against us", despite being a cliché, was fitting, and you described their assault of The Truth reasonably well. Pretty good way to kick off the show, and nice way to continue the feud between Killings and LAX (They are feuding... aren't they?)

Cornette calling an emergency meeting? I'm looking forward to this. Jim swearing in this promo was a bit odd and perhaps unrealistic, though, but the meeting should produce some interesting stuff.

Zbysko taking out his frustration on Raven's stooge Cassidy Riley is pretty cool, and Big Poppa Pump is a good, dominant opponent to give Cassidy. Steiner squashing Riley isn't surprising, although it would be good if you could put match times after the matches so you could give us a better idea of how the match went. Joe's attack on Steiner after the match was a decent way to continue their beef, but like BKB said, you could have made the sentences longer, as it's easier to read and having so many individual sentences doesn't look too good.

You're continuing the Douglas/Naturals angle? Cool. I hope you do it well so that Douglas and Stevens can get a good rub off of The Franchise, and it makes me look forward to next week.

Jarrett, Mitchell and Abyss conspiring is pretty good, I like seeing heels interacting and making plans, and typical scenario here with Jarrett wanting Abyss to take out Sting, so it should be interesting to see how it ends.

Good match between Abyss and Sting, well-described and a disqualification ending was something I didn't see coming but should have, but I knew that Mitchell wasn't going to be hurt as Double J HAD to get involved somehow at some stage, and that equals a Christian Cage appearance. Weird ending with Cornette just coming out and telling them to stop, I'd have done something different to prepare for the emergency meeting, but hey, that's just me. Once again, too many separate sentences in the post-match description, hopefully you don't do that in the next show.

Time for the emergency meeting, I'm a bit surprised that it closed the show as personally, I'd have had Abyss/Sting close the show and the meeting take place before that with a commercial break in between like there was here. Killings/Hoyt vs. LAX at Victory Road sounds pretty good, but does that mean it's a 3-on-2 Handicap Match? Why would Cornette do that? Right, next announcement... Dutt vs. Low Ki at Victory Road is an attractive match, I see Sonjay winning this one as losing to Low Ki 3 times would really damage his credibility so the title changing hands is the way I think it should go. Joe/Steiner in a Last Man Standing Match is great, should be a good way to end their feud if you plan to end their feud at the Pay-Per-View, and Zbysko being fired is intruiging, makes the Riley/Steiner match from earlier on a bit pointless; having it as a routine squash match would be more or less fine but Larry's involvement was un-necessary when you think of it, and Hebner kicking him in the jewels was funny, but Raven being involved would have been cool: WHAT ABOUT RAVEN? Pretty good main event made for next week, I always like putting 2 big feuds together, especially before a PPV, so hopefully you can make Jarrett/AMW vs. Sting/Styles/Daniels worth a lot. Decent way to end the show.

Overall, as a first-time reader, this was just about enough to make me come back to read the next show. The sentence structure could be worked on, though, and I personally would have liked to see Raven on the show, especially with Riley appearing and Zbysko being fired, but that's just me as I quite like Raven. Adding match-times would be quite helpful, but there is some potential here and hopefully you can book to the best of your abilities in the future, and I'm reasonably looking forward to the next show, which has a good main event. Good job.

Thanks for the feedback/roasting you two! . Hopefully, I'll be able to keep that in mind in order to improve with my next show, with it being the go-home show and all.

Now onto the main problem that needs to be addressed, my writing skills. English was always a weak point for me in school and I hate to write essays because they would drop my mark down. I would get comments about improving sentence structure, so it's kind of refreshing having you two point that out. Don't worry, I can handle criticism, even if there is small tear that is shed below my eye.

I also forgot to make it clear that it is indeed 2-on-2, with The Latin American Xchange represented by Homicide & Hernandez. Thanks for pointing that out.

As for Zbyszko's firing, you could say that his involvement earlier on was the final straw and another reason to fire him. Oh, and don't you worry about the lack of Raven, I still have something planned for him.

And I don't usually do this, but here are some news to clarify some things...

Wrestling Newsbits

• The decision was made a few days before the taping that Samoa Joe and Scott Steiner would compete in a Last Man Standing match at Victory Road. The feud was expected to continue up to Hard Justice, but Steiner's short term contract is scheduled to expire within that timeframe. It is possible that this match would allow Steiner to sit out the rest of his contract.

• Raven was scheduled for a match at Victory Road, but it was pulled because there was not enough time to build up his next feud. Instead, the match will be moved to Hard Justice and the remaining matches at Victory Road will recieve more time.

• With Jim Cornette as the new Director of Authority, there was no need for Larry Zbyszko, and was fired as of a result. Zbyszko has stated in the past that he wanted to be off of TV and the road in order to focus on his own life.

J-Coke’s Impact Feedback.

First time reader but your highlight package to open things up is a nice touch and certainly makes life a little easier. If I misinterpret anything due to my lack of knowledge in this thread, I apologise.

Killings v Hoyt is a decent enough way to kick things off. Killings is a crowd pleaser and certainly gets the fans going to it’s smart to have him out first. Your match summary was a great length, it served its purpose whilst not becoming too much. I liked the way you portrayed the face tendencies between both characters. The finish was fine, nothing overly spectacular but it serves its purpose in giving The Truth a solid win.

Hm, LAX are out now. That can only be good. Not sure what Konnan and friends took action on, but oh well. Hm, I am totally against LAX not wrestling, because they’re awesome, but that’s the mark coming out of me. For storyline purposes, I guess it’s quite effective. They want Killings to join LAX? Yeah, that wouldn’t work. Thankfully, The Truth pointed that out. I don’t think he actually fits the bill. The dialogue of this promo for the most part was actually quite enjoyable. The beat down afterward was well written. LAX coming out on top of the little brawl was a no brainer really as having Hoyt and Killings dominate them after they got the initial jump on them, would’ve been disastrous for the momentum they’d just garnered. Ending things with The Border Toss is fitting since it’s an awesome finisher. It will be interesting if you decide to go down the route of a feud between LAX and Killing & Hoyt. I think you should try and push LAX towards bigger and better things but I’m a bit biased. This was certainly an entertaining start.

Oh dear. Jimmy’s angry. Good hype for the emergency meeting with the potential of somebody being fired raised.

Who the hell is Cassidy Riley? Not sure how he’s involved with the Raven/Larry Z business, but I’ll carry on. I’m even more confused now as to Riley’s involvement as having Zbyszko appear on screen only to have Steiner bury him seems a little pointless to me. The aftermath was okay with Joe coming to presumably extract some revenge on Steiner? This furthers and adds some more fuel to their feud at the very least. The way you describe exactly what’s happening in the ring is very good, you do a good job of create the scene however you could make better use of the comma. Your sentences were short and choppy at times, and using a comma would help rectify that problem.

Hm. The naturals are ordinary.

I was a big fan of Abyss and James Mitchell’s little partnership. I always thought TNA could’ve done much better with it. Nice little promo here, but your sentence structure wasn’t great at some points which affected the flow of the promo.

Were Cage and Jarrett in the same room as Abyss and Mitchell? If so, that’s a little strange. If not, you need to point out that you’ve changed locations, you need to be more careful with your attention to detail. This seemed to me to simply be a bit of a filler and hype the Triple Threat at Victory Road.

Main Event time, it’s good to see you go into more depth and vary the length of your match summaries according to the billing of the match. A lot of bookers around here struggle with varying the length of their matches which causes some matches to drag on because the talent they’re using or their match writing ability isn’t up to scratch while other people don’t do some matches justice because their recaps are too short. Good to see you haven’t fallen into that trap. The flow of this match was very hot and cold in my mind, at some points it was good while at other stages it got quite frustrating to read because you were constantly cutting it up with full stops. You portrayed a couple of nice spots in this match but they could’ve been even better if you had of made better use of commas opposed to millions of full stops. I don’t like seeing Sting kick out of the Black Hole Slam. I really don’t like kick outs of finishers except in really big matches, this match doesn’t fit that billing unfortunately. The finish was okay so no one had to take the fall, but for me, Abyss comes off looking a little weak because first Sting kicks out of the finisher, then Sting starts to completely dominate and his manager has to save his ass. Has Abyss looking like a bit of a bitch, kinda like Stoj, if I’m honest.

The run in at the end was fine for progressing the feud but I think this show has been a bit top heavy in terms of run ins and post match beat down. They’ve all had their purpose but I think it’s been overkill. You can’t end every match with a form of run in or beat down, it gets too repetitive, but hey, it’s TNA and that’s never really been a worry for them before……

Cornette coming out with his little inmates line was just so Cornette, built towards the conclusion of the show nicely and I thought you portrayed his character well here even if it was only briefly before the commercial but even in short promos like this one, you can still display certain peoples characteristics quite nicely, which is good.

Big public meeting time now and we’re operating with dot points, that’s interesting. I’m big on presentation and I can’t say I’m overly fond of the dot point technique.

LAX v Killings & Hoyt at Victory Road is announced already, at least Jim is showing a spine and not letting LAX make him look like a bitch, but I would’ve liked to have seen a little more build towards this match before it actually got announced for the Pay Per View. It really just seems like it’ll be a filler match purely to get LAX on the card.

Sonjay v Senshi at Victory Road announced? Well that’s come out of nowhere since there’s been absolutely no build towards that match on tonight’s episode, which isn’t real good. You want feuds fresh in people’s minds when you make these announcements, unfortunately this one couldn’t be more the opposite.

Last Man Standing Match between Joe and Steiner could be okay, but the result is pretty predictable. Has this meeting only been arranged to Cornette could fill out The Victory Road card? If so, there are better ways to do that…

Larry Z is fired? Well there’s the scapegoat. That’s interesting, I wonder where it will leave the Raven stuff you mentioned earlier. Larry’s send off was decent enough, pretty much what you’d expect.

Not sure why you’d book that 6 man match in an effort to hype Victory Road only to leave Sting out of it? Doesn’t really make much sense to me but that’s just me.

Very different promo here, particularly in how you presented it, having said that, I think you crammed in too many announcements and you probably should’ve cut back on a couple as it took away some significance from other announcements. If that makes sense. Next weeks Main Event looks fine, the exclusion of Sting isn’t a wise one though. Having said that, hopefully it provides so more hype for Victory Road.

Overall, it was a solid show but nothing spectacular. You've got my interest, so I'll be back for another look. Definitely lacks star power though, but that’s hardly your fault. You really need to start providing more reasons for people to keep coming back because the show just seemed to be lacking something. If you’re going to only utilise three matches on your show, you really need to make sure they all have a big level of appeal about them. Also, try to hold off on the after match beat downs, you definitely went overboard there. Your sentence structure also needs a little bit of work just to make sure your work flows a little better, but that’s quite easy to fix. You’ve got the potential to do something here, so hopefully you can stick with it and turn it into something good.
