Smackdown Review

Opening: It wasn't bad. It was a bit short but it got across what you wanted to. But you said Vickie was wheeled onto the stage and you ahd McMahon go to the ring, which doesn't make too much sense. The match for Backlash is a good idea and i have no idea who will stay.

Finlay v Chavo: Very little info given on this match but you only had it to setup what happens next. I like the way Chuck cost Chavo the match but i just thought what happened after the match was a bit much for Finlay and Chuck unless you are pushing Chuck.

Miz and Morriosn: This was good to show us that they mean buisness and to promote the match.

Tag Match: This was a better match then the first one and im glad that Miz and Morriosn retained. I liked the way you described Hawkins and Ryder after the match.

Matt and Dykstra: Good interview. You got the characters well in this. The words between them were good and it adds to the match later. Matt attacking him would make sense after being called a coward but again i though it was a bit much having them have security around the match.

Sydal and Taylor: This was a chance to write a good match here because they both techinical wrestlers. Anyway good win for Sydal and Talor wanting a rematch gives is good because what he mentioned after the match. Wonder who or what it will be.

Shane: Good promo. Probably should have had Shane say more before bringing out Vickie. Mark Henry v Bobby Lashley should be a good match and don't know who will win. Lashley spearing Henry and getting the advantage was a good idea.

MVP and Chavo again just building up the match. Good job.

Matt v Kenny: Good match but i diddn't like the ending. MVP coming out when he has a match wouldn't happen for me. He was playing it nice backstage and teh he is scrwing someone? Anyway good match.

Edge: Nice promo here. Getting Edge involved becasue he doesn't have a match was a good idea.

Burke v Batista: Ha i liked the way Burke amde a video. Batista coming down was a good way of getting him involved and he looked good in the match i wonder what Batista will do now. Burke getting DQd was a heel at his best and Batista gettinbg the Batista bomb in was good way to finish.

Main Event: A good main event. MVP did good and looked likew as winning unti Taker kicke dout. Edge getting involved was good but when he hit the spear i dont know where it came from. Taker sitting up at the end was a good way to end the show.

Overall: It was a good show. Well constructed with everyone getting involved. Would have liked to see more from Shane as you used Vickie alot and i thought it was a bit extreme with Finlay and chuck but the matches were good and the storylines are going good.

Default Re: Rocker Presents: World Wrestling Entertainment

Just to say, I am reading and commenting as I go along.

Smackdown Feedback

~ I enjoyed the fact that you wrote a video package at the beginning to tell us what happened last week. It give's someone who hasn't read the last show the basic outline of what happened. Good move.

~ The opening commentary was very good, the opening segment could have been longer. But you wrote Vickie and Mr. McMahon well. It got the point across, the way you wrote Vickie, it seemed like she was scared of Vince, although who wouldn't be. I have no idea who Shane or Vickie will pick. This reminds me of McMahon/Trump match, at Backlash I hope you have Shane's Superstar win.

~ Good opening match with Finlay and Guerrero. I liked the ending, it keeps Finlay looking strong and it doesn't hurt Guerrero either. at Finlay driving around with Chuck. This bit was quite hard to imagine. Plus, I don't think there's enough bad blood for Finlay to do that.

~ The next segment with Morrison and Miz, it puts across the point that they want the gold to stay around their waist. at Miz and Morrison looking to the sky. Although it is true, they are the best tag team in a long time.

~ This was a good description of the tag match, it seems that Miz and Morrison played the face role in this match. When you said Ryder was shaking his head I thought he would turn and attack Hawkins. Maybe you'll do that but I doubt it. He should stay with Hawkins, I don't see any room in the singles division for him.

~ The interview with Eve and Matt got interesting when Kenny got involved. The little brawl they had really puts over the fact that they hate each other and it makes the future match even more anticipated. Now, using Vickie I didn't like, I think Shane should have done this. He hasn't done anything all night.

~ Please don't just have Sydal coming out and beating Superstars each week, I'd rather see him have a feud, like what WWE did with McIntyre. It seems I got what I wanted, looks these two will feud.

~ Like I said before, I've not seem much of Tyler Black so I can't really comment on him. But the video package was nicely done, really got across the fact he's came from small promotion to the big time. (I know ROH not exactly small but y'know what I mean.) Anyway looking forward to his debut.

~ I like that you had Shane come out and then tell Vickie to reveal her representive first. Mark Henry? I'm not a big fan of his, but it's a good choice if you want RAW power. WOW, I wasn't expecting you to have Lashley re-debut so soon. I'm not sure Lashley Vs Henry would be a good match though. I think I don't like about this is you haven't let thing's build with Shane and Vickie. They haven't had any real heated confrontation. I just think the match could have waited. Anyway, with Lashley as Shane's representive I doubt Vickie's winning. With him re-debuting I think you'll keep him strong by defeating Henry.

~ Little segment here with Guerrero and MVP. MVP basically owned Chavo throughout the segment. Anyway,
I would think MVP would have something to say about facing The Undertaker, maybe complaining to Shane or Vickie.

~ This was a good description of the match. However, I don't like that you had MVP interfere. You just showed focused on his big match, I just think that by him interfering it makes the match seem smaller because he's thinking about Hardy when he should be thinking of Taker.

~ I guess who had to get Edge on the show one way or another. at Edge owning Josh.I love that you don't have Edge showing fear towards Taker. The promo seemed a bit generic but if got the point across.

~ Burke having a video of himself made really shows his cocky side. I seriously hope you don't squash Burke with Batista. The match was good, Burke got more offense than I expected. Really cheap way for Batista to get the win ... which I love. It keeps Burke looking strong because he never lost. I'd have enjoyed it better if Burke left the ring before Tista' got to him. That would have left the door open for a feud to begin with Batista hitting the Bomb, I think that means he's got his revenge for Burke cheating to get away.

~ Great main event. MVP got a lot of offence, at least you didn't have Hardy attack MVP. I'd have marked out if Taker never kicked out of the playmaker. But I guess Taker had to win since he is the World Champion. Edge spearing Taker is just like last week but with roles reversed.

All in all, it was a good show, it had it's ups and downs. Some of the promos seemed generic, I think you should focus on developing characters in your promos. Other than that, the matches were good and had a good amount of time in each. The main event was a highlight. The format you use is really good, it's easy to read. P.S, the Backlash Card looks great. I'm really looking forward to the Battle of The General Managers. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Official Preview for Monday Night Raw – 14/4/08

Last week on Raw, the road to Backlash began to take serious shape, as three big matches were announced for the event which comes full circle in just less than 2 weeks’ time. This week, we could possibly find out more, and the matches already announced could take drastic twists and turns between those who shall step into the squared circle in Baltimore, Maryland on the 27th April.

The headlining contest, you may ask? Randy Orton versus Triple H for Orton’s prized WWE Championship. The foundations were laid for this one-on-one contest 2 weeks ago, but this match has been 5 years in the making, ever since Orton joined Triple H and Ric Flair’s stable, Evolution. Orton and “The Game” have had matches since he was evicted from the faction, but this is the latest chapter in the tale, and it could well prove to be the best one yet. As for this week, two huge matches are on the card, as Triple H goes against his former D-Generation X collaborator Shawn Michaels in what should be the best match we’ve seen on Raw in a long time, and Randy Orton squares off with his rival John Cena. It should make for a great show.

The budding rivalry between Cena and Michaels began last week when Cena came to defend Ric Flair’s honour when Michaels was disrespecting the man he retired at WrestleMania, and “The Doctor of Thuganomics” came so close to making Michaels pay with an FU, but fortunately for Michaels, he escaped. They will be desperate to continue what they started last week 7 days on, but with both of them in such important matches, will they give it a rest?

Mr. Kennedy emerged as the #1 contender to Chris Jericho’s Intercontinental Championship last week when he defeated not one but two of Raw’s top Superstars in Shelton Benjamin and Kofi Kingston, in a triple threat, and Kennedy and Jericho will fight with the title on the line in less than 2 weeks at Backlash. But this week, Y2J hosts the Highlight Reel, and his guest? You guessed correctly, Mr. Kennedy. With their match at Backlash looming, tempers will flare, and it’ll make for some quality entertainment.

Still on the subject of Backlash, we found out last week that Carlito will challenge CM Punk for Punk’s Money in the Bank Briefcase at the event, and we will hear from Carlito this week on Raw, and apparently he has a surprise for “The Second City Saint”, but what will it be? You know how to find out.

Also this week, JBL takes on one of young rival DH Smith’s closest friends, the debuting TJ Wilson, Kane, who has developed a rivalry with Paul Burchill since WrestleMania, faces Santino Marella and Melina challenges Beth Phoenix for the Women’s Championship.

To see all of this and more, tune in to Raw on the USA Network at 9/8 CT.

***

Raw's finished, so I'll most likely post it tomorrow.

A TPS Review!!!

Smackdown...

Segment 1: The Backlash To Co-General Managers This was an interesting twist to continue with what happened last week. It seems that we won’t be having the Co-Manager thing as a permanent arch. I am interested in seeing who these guys pull together to represent them come Backlash. All this came off a bit brief, and I would have liked to see more interaction here, but it was still a good turn in the story. ***/*****

Segment 2: Along For The Ride I really found this interesting. The match that happened first was what it was, all in all not too evocative. But the chase that followed was cool…and that lead to the dragging of Palumbo around the parking lot. I’m wondering how Finlay got to the back so quick. The dragging was very original, violent, and adds all kinds of fuel to this feud. You really upped the ante and made this cool. I didn’t think that Finlay needed to pound on Chuck afterwards, and it would’ve been even better if Palumbo wasn’t able to talk. But still…cool. ****

Segment 3: Vanity Fares I thought the short little Miz/Morrison exchange was done well. It wasn’t meant to do anything story wise, but it gets their characters over. They’re the self obsessed tag champs…who don’t think they’re all that self obsessed. It was funny how Morrison gave Miz a lecture…and then did the same thing himself. The match afterwards was ok, and it was good that Miz/Morrison retained. What I was interested to see was the tease of Ryder going solo. ***

Segment 4: Courage Or Cowardice? Matt Hardy cut a promo here that I didn’t find all that compelling. I liked how Kenny came and interrupted it, trying to interrupt Hardy’s feelings, claiming he ALWAYS panders. I really enjoyed this little call out, and the brawl afterwards was meh, but the security thing may be cool. MAY. ***

Segment 5: Bourne To Be Sydal Matt and Dave have a match that I thought was just going to keep Eva-er…MATT…rolling along on a winning streak. But it seems you have plans for Dave Taylor as well. We’ll see what happens next week. **

Segment 6: Baby Bobby’s Back What a return for Bobby Lashley. I didn’t know who to expect for the representatives, but the returning Baby Bobby was quite a welcome surprise. I think that Bobby was overrated when he hit the scene, but I like the guy all the same. It’s good that you have plans for him. I already expected Shane to win this match, but now with Lashley it seems all but secured. ****

Segment 7: Oh, Chavo This was an ok exchange that keeps the heat going for the fatal four way. But I think the Latino slang was a bit over the top. Chavo hardly ever talks like that anymore. **

Segment 8: Where’s Security? The match here was well written, and played out fine. It read a bit short though, and…where was the security? Vickie added them to the match, and they played NO part. They didn’t even stop MVP from interfering. Oh well. **

Segment 9: Not On Edge Edge cut a nice little promo here. It was short, but the words read like they were really coming out of Edge’s mouth. Even though it was short, I liked how Edge had all the answers against Taker. ***

Segment 10: What An Experience I hope that Burke is entering a program with Batista, as it would do wonders for the Pope’s cred. I’m a HUGE fan of the Shining Light, and I want him pushed to the sky! I liked the slap ending, as I didn’t see it coming, but I would have loved to see Burke get away clean. Tista bombed him and it seemed like the slap was all for not. I love the Burke push though. ****

Segment 11: Taker? I Barely Knew Her! Wow…um…I didn’t like the main event. It was a short match, but there were a butt load of near falls. I don’t particularly like this much drama in a match that is as short as this one. It felt like a TNA match. The reversals were pretty cool, though. Also, BOTH Matt and Edge making SEPARATE appearances added to the contrast of big match tactics in a little match. I wonder if I’m coming across clearly enough… I just didn’t think this played out well at all. **

Overall With some tightening up, this could have been a REALLY good show. Unfortunately, it was just average, as there a lot of parts that didn’t play like they should have. I’m beginning to like your booking, I just think you need to work on some of the polish. ***

Thanks for the review, I made a mistake with the security thing as I re-wrote the show but kept the matches, and I wasn't planning to have security in the first place, so my bad

Default Re: Rocker Presents: World Wrestling Entertainment

WWE Monday Night Raw; April 14th, 2008; Indianapolis, Indiana

Dire Consequences

The broadcast begins with a video package, which recounts the events of last week’s main event, when the WWE Champion Randy Orton and Carlito faced Triple H and CM Punk. After showing clips of high points throughout the match, Orton wins the match following an RKO executed on Triple H. The attention is then directed to William Regal’s post-match announcement that Triple H will challenge Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Backlash in less than 2 weeks. Afterwards the video ends with Triple H hitting Orton with a sledgehammer and then flattening “The Legend Killer” on the stage with a pedigree.

Afterwards the Raw opening credits play and as the final image of Randy Orton holding the WWE Championship above his head shatters on the screen, we enter the Conseco Fieldhouse. Pyrotechnics and fireworks detonate from the stage and pyro balls fall from the ceiling as the camera orbits the audience who are waving their banners and signs enthusiastically, ecstatic to be a part of this broadcast. Finally, the camera crosses over to “Good ol’” Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler at ringside.

Jim Ross: The #1 contender to Randy Orton’s WWE Championship has become apparent, and it will indeed be “game time” at Backlash! Welcome to Monday Night Raw, we’re live from the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana which will be the venue of this year’s SummerSlam, I’m good ol’ Jim Ross alongside Jerry “The King” Lawler, and Randy Orton and Triple H will both be in action tonight on Raw in exceptionally huge matches.

Jerry Lawler: I couldn’t put it any better, JR, tonight’s two main events will have earth-shattering ramifications and old rivalries will be rekindled, as Randy Orton faces John Cena, and Triple H faces his old D-Generation X compatriot “The Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels, and as far as we know, the two of them are still best of friends, but after seeing the transformation that Michaels has undergone over the past few weeks, that could all change, especially after they lock horns later on tonight!

Jim Ross: Also tonight, John “Bradshaw” Layfield squares off against the debuting TJ Wilson following their confrontation last week when Wilson, a friend of DH Smith who defeated JBL 2 weeks ago and was attacked by Layfield last week, stood up to the longest-reigning WWE Champion in Smackdown history. JBL said that tonight, TJ’s career will be over before it has even picked up off the ground, but time will tell.

Jerry Lawler: That’s not all, because “The Big Red Machine” Kane will be in action against the bragadocious Santino Marella, and rest assured “The Ripper” Paul Burchill, who has been the target of Kane over the past few weeks, will be watching closely. Imagine if Santino managed to cause a massive upset and somehow find a way to defeat Kane tonight though, JR?! British eyes would be smiling, especially Burchill’s!

The camera slowly moves away and crosses over to the ring, where the mat is festooned with a black carpet and two stalls are placed in the centre, flanking a flat-screen TV which is attached to a small scaffolding. A picture of the host of this show stretching his arms out is adorned in the middle, meaning only one thing; it’s time for the Highlight Reel!

***BREAK THE WALLS DOWN***

The crowd cheer in unison as one of the WWE’s most popular entitees, the consummate Chris Jericho, becomes visible on the stage, with his arms outstretched in trademark fashion. Jericho quickly turns around and reveals the Intercontinental Championship over his shoulder which is accompanied with a typical smirk from Y2J, as he walks down the rampway, dressed in a black buttoned shirt and denim jeans, before climbing onto the ring apron and stepping into the squared circle.

Lilian Garcia: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the WWE Intercontinental Champion... “Y2J”, Chris Jericho!

Jim Ross: The 8-time Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho’s presence is among us, and as you can tell by what has been set up in the ring, it is time for the Highlight Reel. His guest, may you ask? The man who will challenge Jericho for the Intercontinental Championship in less than 2 weeks after winning a hard-fought #1 contender’s triple threat match last week; the one and only Mr. Kennedy.

Jerry Lawler: Some would say that the Highlight Reel was made for somebody like Mr. Kennedy, who can run his mouth for days on end but yet can back it up in the ring, but the lingering question is, will Kennedy be able to legislate his claim that he will become the Intercontinental Champion at Backlash, when these two individuals meet in less than 2 weeks’ time? And for anybody who hasn’t heard Kennedy make that statement, just you wait...

Back in the ring, Chris Jericho picks up a microphone from on a stall, and walks around the ring, before pressing the microphone to his lips.

Chris Jericho: Ahem... ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, cats and dogs, whatever the hell we’ve got in this arena tonight... welcome to, RAW – IS – JERICHO!

~ The iconic catchphrase from Jericho elicits a big pop from Indianapolis.

Chris Jericho: And this... is the Highlight Reel. Y’know, if I had my way, I would just take up the entire 2 hours of the show with this and would treat your eyes to what is the greatest career the universe has ever witnessed; mine.

~ More cheers for Y2J.

Chris Jericho: But, unfortunately, the assclowns at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut don’t want that to happen.

~ Boos from those who would like to see Jericho’s idea become a reality, which is pretty much everybody inside the arena.

Chris Jericho: But hey! Take it easy, don’t be too upset, because as a result, tonight on Raw, you get to see the WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena...

~ The mention of one of tonight’s two main events draws a huge pop from the crowd.

Chris Jericho: And the two men who together formed D-Generation X one-on-one, “The Game” Triple H against “The Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels!

~ The roof is almost blown off when Jericho talks about Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels.

Chris Jericho: But in less than 2 weeks at Backlash, a match will take place which is just as big as both of those... because yours truly will be defending his Intercontinental Championship against (Imitates Mr. Kennedy’s voice) the man who weighs 245 pounds... and hails from GREEN – BAY – WIS – CON – SIN... MISTAAAAAAAAHHHHH KEEEEENNNNEEE – (Begins to cough) D-D-DY... KENNEDDYYYY.

~ The crowd laugh at Jericho’s impression of Kennedy.

Chris Jericho: And-

***TURN UP THE TROUBLE***

~ Jericho is unable to continue when the ever-so voluble Mr. Kennedy walks out, no cocky smirk on his face in contrast to what we normally see from him. Wearing a black tracksuit, Kennedy walks down the rampway and climbs onto the ring apron, staying stagnant and glaring at a laughing Chris Jericho before swinging his leg around the middle rope and stepping into the ring.

Jim Ross: It would appear that Mr. Kennedy isn’t in the mood for impressions or games, and is straight-faced as he enters the Highlight Reel and comes face-to-face with the man he will face at Backlash where the Intercontinental Championship will be on the line, “Y2J” Chris Jericho. But doesn’t Kennedy have a sense of humor? I know he may have found Jericho’s imitation of him a little offensive but still he must have been at least a little amused.

Jerry Lawler: Of course he has a sense of humor, JR; but would you find it funny if I did an impression of you? (King takes JR’s hat and puts it on his own head, mocking JR’s voice) Oh hey y’all, how ya’ doin’, I’m good ol’ JR and I only work here so I can plug mah’ barbecque sauce. (Raises voice) By Gawd, mah’ barbecque sauce is one helluva slobber knocker!

Jim Ross: (Takes his hat back) Gimme’ that... And I don’t sound anything like that either.

~ Meanwhile, Mr. Kennedy is standing right in front of Chris Jericho, and is chewing away at his gum, not taking his eyes off of his Backlash opponent.

Mr. Kennedy: So this is it? You’re defending the Intercontinental Championship against me in less than 2 weeks at Backlash... but you think you can clown around and make dumb and pathetic jokes? You’re kidding me, right? (Raising voice) I am the #1 Superstar in the WWE, I’m responsible for the high ratings of this show, I’m responsible that this company has a global reputation... And if you don’t take me seriously, Chris... You’re gua – ran – teed to lose at Backlash... even though you were anyway.

~ The crowd boo Kennedy, disagreeing with his statement, as Jericho laughs it off.

Mr. Kennedy: And this stupid little (makes quotation marks) “Highlight Reel” thing you’ve got going on ain’t much either. I mean, look at it... it sucks, man. You’ve got two little stalls you probably found in the trash behind a 2nd-hand store, you’ve got a TV I can probably cover with my hand... I know Raw’s the flagship show of this company, but at least Smackdown’s got something going for them, and that’s a talk-show called the “VIP Lounge” that is actually worth a crap, unlike this dump.

~ There are “Oh”s in the crowd as Y2J smirks at Kennedy’s remarks.

Chris Jericho: You think the grass is greener on the other side, huh, Ken? Well do us a favor and go ahead and jump over there. And y’know what, Ken? I think you should get yourself a talk show of your own... at least that way, you’ll have a reason to bore these people to sleep by running your mouth.

~ Mr. Kennedy looks at Jericho as if to say “Really?” in a sarcastic fashion.

Mr. Kennedy: Chris... you can make all the jokes you want, I’m fine with that... but at the end of the day, it’s only going to make it that much sweeter when I become Intercontinental Champion at Backlash, and I get to look down at you writhing in agony and covering your face in humiliation, because you won’t be able to face these people anymore because you promised them that you will walk out of Backlash Intercontinental Champion, but you won’t, and then, my friend... I will be laughing. And as our great chairman Mr. McMahon says... "he who laughs last, laughs lloudest".

Chris Jericho: Ken... I know you’re trying to get my attention and all by saying all of this crap and sucking up to Vince by stealing his line, but it’s not gonna work. Besides, no matter who won last week, they’d be saying the same things as you anyway, as if you were all reading off the same damn sheet.

~ Kennedy shakes his head at Jericho.

Mr. Kennedy: No, that’s where you’re wrong, Chris, because last week there was only ever going to be one winner, and that was me. Shelton and Kofi were never going to win, and they wouldn’t have the balls to stand up to like I am right now anyway, because I’m different; I’m better than them. I’m in a league of my own, that nobody, not even you, Chris, is in.

Chris Jericho: I’m fine with that, Ken... I don’t wanna be as low as you anyway. And just so you know what you’ve got coming at Backlash... I’ll give you a little taste.

~ Chris Jericho looks into the crowd and smirks, BEFORE HITTING MR. KENNEDY OVER THE SKULL WITH HIS MICROPHONE! Kennedy falls to the floor and clutches his head in pain, as Jericho goes to ground and pummels Kennedy with blows, until both get back to their feet and continue exchanging right hands! Mr. Kennedy then kicks Jericho in the mid-section and gets the Intercontinental Champion in position for a Mic Check, but Y2J pushes Kennedy away and when he comes back, Jericho nails Kennedy with a Codebreaker, which sends Ken flying over the ropes on impact! Clutching his jaw and sitting on the concrete floor on the outside of the ring, Kennedy looks into the ring as Chris Jericho holds his Intercontinental Championship high in the air, mouthing to Kennedy “That’s the closest you’re getting to my title”.

Jim Ross: Boy, what an explosive way to kick off Monday Night Raw!

Jerry Lawler: I think Mr. Kennedy ran his mouth just a little too much, JR, and the Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho made Kennedy pay the price! I wonder if Jericho was true in saying that this was a sign of things to come at Backlash?

Jim Ross: And coming up next, the action continues, at least in your case, King, as Beth Phoenix defends the Women’s Championship against The Paparazzi Princess” Melina!

1 – Beth Phoenix vs. Melina
*Women’s Championship*

In the opening stages of this Women’s Championship match, it’s the challenger who has the upper hand as Melina is in control of the reigning Champ, Beth Phoenix. Getting revenge for Beth’s attack on her last week on Raw after their tag team match victory, Melina couldn’t care less about technique or athletisism; she just wants to beat “The Glamazon” up, and badly. However, Melina’s ugly gameplan doesn’t pay off, as minutes in Phoenix regains control and after a Delayed Vertical Suplex, picks up the 1... 2... 3, thus retaining her prized Women’s Championship against “The Paparazzi Princess”.

Winner and still Women’s Champion – Beth Phoenix in 5:35

“Glamazon” plays, as Beth Phoenix relinquishes her grasp of Melina’s hooked legs and gets to her feet as she is given her Women’s Championship, looking deep into the title with a sinister grin. Phoenix stands over an inanimate Melina and holds her title in the air to boos from the crowd, but then it appears that Beth has an idea, and it doesn’t seem to be a good one in Melina’s case, as “The Glamazon” gets her defeated challenger to her feet.

Phoenix has hold of Melina, but before anything can happen, Mickie James comes running down the rampway and she slides into the ring, taking down Beth Phoenix!!! The crowd cheer for Mickie as she unloads on the Women’s Champion with fists, but Phoenix escapes and slides under the ropes and out of the ring, holding her head as she takes her title and walks up the rampway, and Mickie checks on Melina.

However, “The Paparazzi Princess” doesn’t seem to appreciate the assistance, and then nails Mickie James with a Primal Scream! The crowd give of a mixed reaction as Melina looks down at James and screams at her “I don’t need your help!” before leaving the ring and ascending up the rampway.

Jim Ross: Beth Phoenix may have escaped as Women’s Champion, but Melina can still go home with a good taste in her mouth after nailing Mickie James, who had come to save Melina from a post-match beat-down at the hands of “The Glamazon”with a Primal Scream. Perhaps next time Mickie won’t give Melina any help when she’s in danger.

Jerry Lawler: It’s as if Mickie thinks that Melina’s vulnerable, and that she needs help, but let me tell you, JR, she doesn’t. She is a 2-time Women’s Champion, could have become a 3-time Champ if she had beaten Beth Phoenix but unfortunately doesn’t, and with a C.V like that, she doesn’t need any help from Mickie James, or anybody.

Jim Ross: And still to come tonight, it’s the two founding fathers of D-Generation X one-on-one, “The Game” Triple H, “The Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels, one – on – one!

The camera cuts backstage, where Paul Burchill, along with his twisted sister Katie Lea Burchill, is walking down a corridor, carrying a bag over his shoulder. “The Ripper” is about to open his locker room door, when the lights go out and become crimson red! The crowd cheer, as it would seem that the presence of Kane is among us, and Paul immediately grabs onto Katie Lea, but when they come back on, the camera pans out to reveal none other than Santino Marella standing by a light switch.

Santino Marella: Have you-a seen these new lighting effects? Pretty ... a ... cool, wouldn't you say?

~ The audience laugh, but Paul Burchill isn’t in the mood for games, and goes to run after Santino, but Katie Lea Burchill restrains her big brother.

Katie Lea Burchill: Paul, stop! Don’t waste your time on him... the focus, is on Kane so remember that, Ok?

~ Burchill sighs, before agreeing with Katie.

Paul Burchill: I may hate his guts... but I hope Kane beats the bloody hell out of him tonight. Let’s go.

~ Paul and Katie Lea open the door and enter the locker room, before shutting it behind them as the screen fades.

*WWE SLAM OF THE WEEK – LAST FRIDAY - FINLAY ATTACKS CHUCK PALUMBO AND TAKES HIM FOR A “RIDE” ON HIS MOTORCYCLE AROUND THE PARKING LOT*

We’re back on Raw, and surprising to some, Drew McIntyre is standing in the middle of the ring, dressed in ring-gear and holding a microphone. Drew looks around the audience and nods his head, before proceeding.

Drew McIntyre: Some of you might not know me... but I, am Drew McIntyre. I know you’re all wondering exactly what I’m doing here, so I’ll tell ya’. I’m here, simply... to become the greatest Superstar in the WWE, and become the first ever Scottish W – W – E Champion. I’m not here to entertain, I’m not here to pander to all of you worthless scoundrels...

~ McIntyre’s heel status is solidified as he gains heat from the audience.

Drew McIntyre: I’m here... to fulfill my destiny.

~ McIntyre throws the microphone out of the ring, before glaring at his opponent, who is unknown and will most likely stay that way after this match is over.

2 – Drew McIntyre vs. Charles Evans

Drew McIntyre and Charles Evans lock up in the middle of the ring, but it doesn’t last for long, as after a matter of moments McIntyre drives a knee into Evans’ mid-section, winding his opponent. McIntyre wrenches Charles’ arm and Irish whips him against the ropes, before flattening him with a ruthless clothesline! McIntyre riffs through his long hair and smirks at the sight of Evans gasping for air, before getting Charles Evans to his feet and picking him up, driving Evans spine-first into the corner of the ring! McIntyre shouts “Ya’ like that, laddy?” to Charles, before driving him into the corner yet again, but 3rd time’s a charm, and it’s obviously something Drew abides by, as he drives Evans into the corner yet again! Evans sinks down into the corner, but he doesn’t get much of a chance, as McIntyre gets Evans to his feet, kicks him in the mid-section, and nails Evans with a double underhook DDT, or as McIntyre calls it, Hadrian’s Call! Drew then hooks Evans’ legs, making the cover, 1... 2... 3!

Winner – Drew McIntyre in 1:14

“Seeing Red” blares out and Drew McIntyre, parading a conceited smirk on his face, gets to his feet, as the referee tries to raise his hand but a disregarding Drew immediately pulls away. McIntyre looks down at Charles Evans and laughs at his destruction, before sliding under the ropes and out of the ring, walking up the rampway and shouting “You haven’t seen anything yet!” at the audience, who continue to boo.

Jim Ross: A remarkably impressive debut from Drew McIntyre who dominated his unfortunate opponent in what some would say was a walk-over, and McIntyre said that he will fulfill his destiny and become the first ever Scottish WWE Champion; that remains to be seen, but if this match is anything to make assumptions by, then it might well become true.

Jerry Lawler: I have to say, Drew McIntyre really impressed me there in his match, JR, and I can definitely see a bright future for Drew.

Jim Ross: Seems like he might have a bit of an attitude problem, if I may say so...

Jerry Lawler: That’s what it’s all about to you, isn’t it, JR? Attitude doesn’t matter, as long as he’s capable of beating somebody up and covering them for a 1, 2, 3, that’s all that matters at the end of the day.

Backstage, TRIPLE H is walking backstage and gets a huge pop as he becomes visible on the camera. However, he looks back for a few moments and when he turns back around, SHAWN MICHAELS is standing in front of him. The roof is almost blown off when the two founders of D-Generation X are face-to-face, and “The Game” merely sighs.

Triple H: Where did it all go wrong, huh, Shawn?

Shawn Michaels: I don’t know what you’re talkin’ about, Hunter, nothing’s gone wrong. In fact... things are a whole lot better now.

~ Shawn’s smug attitude garners boos from the audience.

Triple H: That’s what you think, but you’re wrong. You know exactly what I’m talking about, Shawn, I’m talking about Ric Flair.

~ There are lots of “Wooooo”s among the audience at the mention of Ric Flair.

Triple H: You used to respect him just as much as I do, Shawn, and that’s a lot, just like everybody else. 2 weeks ago, I saw you superkick him to the ground but I’ve gotta admit, I didn’t come to you the next week and ask you why, because I thought that you were going to right your wrongs and apologise. But when I heard all of that bullsh*t that came out of your mouth last week, I wasn’t as angry... as I was surprised.

~ Michaels responds with a “Pfft” as Triple H continues.

Triple H: You used to idolise the guy, you wanted to be as successful as he was. And when I look back at the moment you kicked Ric in the skull, I just can’t believe it; You... you were my best... friend.

Shawn Michaels: You’re right, Hunter, I was; but that’s changed. For all this time, I’ve been living a life I’ve wanted to escape for such a long time, and the first thing to do was make sure that Ric Flair never came back again to cling onto my back and give his ever-so "emotional" speeches. And now, I’m going to make sure you don’t come back again either... and that’s going to happen tonight.

Triple H: Y’know what, Shawn, it is... I’m never going to want to look you in the eyes again, because I’m looking in the eyes of a liar, and a selfish, no-good prick.

~ Triple H’s hasty insult gets cheers from the crowd.

Triple H: And tonight, when I face you... I’m going to do the one thing that if Ric was here tonight, he’d be dying to do... and that’s kick... your... ass.

~ “The Game” and Michaels have a nose-to-nose staredown, before HBK pulls away and walks out of the shot...

After Santino Marella and Kane have made their respective entrances, the bell is about to ring, when “Generator A” plays and Paul Burchill, flanked by his devious sibling Katie Lea Burchill, walks out onto the stage, getting boos from the crowd. Burchill walks down the aisle with Katie in tow, and he walks over to near the announce table where he takes a folding steel chair and sets it up for him to sit on, as Katie Lea stands behind him, smirking at a motionless Kane.

3 – Santino Marella vs. Kane

To begin the match, Santino Marella tries to avoid Kane, as he circles the ring in an attempt to escape, but when Kane corners him Santino slides under the ropes and out of the ring. Marella runs around the ring as if he were a mouse being chased by a cat, but Santino then humorously trips over an stuck-out leg from Paul Burchill. Kane approaches Santino and looks at Burchill who returns the scornful glare, as Kane gets Marella to his feet and gets him back in the ring. Kane gets Santino in the corner and unleashes clubbing blows to Marella’s mid-section, before backing away and running at Santino for a clothesline, but surprisingly, “The Italian Stallion” moves out of the way, and Kane manages to stop himself before he crashes into the turnbuckles, but as he turns around, Santino directs a dropkicks to Kane’s leg, and while it doesn’t take Kane down, it does some damage. Marella then runs off the ropes, and takes down “The Big Red Machine” with a chopblock!

Instead of mounting further offense, Santino looks around at the audience and holds one finger up as if to say he is #1, proclaiming “Thank-a you, thank-a you everybody” to the fans, but as he turns around, Kane knocks him down with a big boot! Kane then climbs to the top rope but as Marella complains to the referee about a so-called injury to his eye, Paul Burchill gets up and jumps onto the ring apron, pushing Kane off the top rope and down to the canvas! When he sees Kane on the referee, Marella makes a sudden “recovery” and pounces on Kane, making the cover, 1... 2... Kick out from Kane.

Kane suddenly sits up and Santino Marella, like a frightened little girl, backs into the corner. Kane gets to his feet and Marella hopelessly throws a punch at Kane’s chest, but it proves to be ineffectual, and Kane grabs Santino by the throat! However, before Kane’s grip can settle in, Marella escapes, and rolls out of the ring, getting boos from the audience as he walks up the rampway, saying “I’m not-a coming back!” but before he can walk behind the curtain, none other than Kofi Kingston walks out with his arms folded, saying to Santino “You ain’t goin’ no-where, mon”. Marella shakes his head in disbelief as he is trapped, but as he turns around, Kane is there! Kane grabs Santino by the neck, and takes him back to the ring, and when he gets him in the ring and climbs in himself, Santino directs some stomps at Kane, but to no avail, as Kane, still on the ground, grabs Marella by the throat! Kane slowly gets to his feet, still holding onto Santino, and when he’s up, Kane lifts Marella up high, before sending Marella plummeting to the canvas with a devastating chokeslam! Not taking his eyes off Paul Burchill, Kane hooks the legs of Santino Marella, making the cover, 1... 2... 3!

Winner – Kane @ 6:29

“Slow Chemical” plays and Kane gets to his feet, as he has his hand raised by the referee. Kane performs his signature taunt as the ringposts become engulfed in flames, but Kane has taken his eyes off Paul Burchill, and it proves to be costly, as Burchill enters the ring, armed with a steel chair, AND SLAMS THE STEEL CHAIR OVER THE BACK OF KANE!!!

“The Big Red Machine” doesn’t go down, but after another shot the spine and then a shot to Kane’s skull, he goes down! Burchill continues to slam the steel chair in the direction of Kane, UNTIL KANE MANAGES TO GRAB PAUL BURCHILL BY THE THROAT!!! However, when Kane gets to his feet, Burchill pulls away, and then slams the steel chair over the skull of Kane yet again! He goes down, and Paul Burchill leaves the ring along with Katie Lea and they walk up the rampway, but Kane sits up! Kane’s busted open after two chairshots to the head, and as they see him sit up, Paul and Katie quickly run away, disappearing behind the curtain...

Jerry Lawler: See that, JR?! Paul Burchill is not afraid of Kane! He even busted “The Big Red Machine” wide open, something very few people have ever done! What a courageous act by “The Ripper”!

Jim Ross: Don’t get ahead of yourself, King, you saw Burchill, as soon as Kane sat up he was away quicker than I can say “barbecque sauce”. Paul’s just got himself into a whole lot of trouble, if you ask me.

Jerry Lawler: That’s what you think, JR... but Burchill will prove you wrong. It’s exactly what I said last week, and look what happened tonight!

*BACKSTAGE*

Todd Grisham is standing by.

Todd Grisham: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... the WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

Heat, as Randy Orton walks into the picture, dressed in his ring-gear ready for his big match with John Cena later on tonight.

Todd Grisham: Randy, tonight you face your old rival John Cena in a one-on-one match. What are your thoughts going into this match?

Randy Orton: Todd, I have no thoughts about facing John Cena. Why? Because I don’t have to. John is hardly a challenge to me, compared to me, he is nothing. He can defend Ric Flair’s honour against Shawn Michaels as much as he wants, but John should know that he’s not in my league... Perhaps you should ask John what he thinks about our match tonight, at least you’ll actually hear from somebody who has a challenge on their hands. Everybody’s been talking about this match and saying how big it is because of our past, but let me tell you now, you’re not going to see a match tonight... you’re going to see the annihilation and the destruction of the so-called “superman”of the WWE.

~ Heat for Orton.

Randy Orton: Everybody looks up to and idolises John because he constantly caters to these fans, but everyone seems to look past the fact that he isn’t “The Champ” unlike he says he is... because I am. And speaking of the WWE Championship... I want to talk to Triple H.[/font]

~ Pop at the mention of “The Game”.

Randy Orton: Hunter, last week, what you did to me after I pinned you in the middle of the ring... was what I’d call reprehensible. But, you know what? After I pin you again at Backlash, it isn’t going to happen anymore; because I’m going to finish the job this time. I’m going to make sure that your match with me at Backlash is your last, because with a kick to the skull... your career will be over. You tried your best to finish my career when I won the World Heavyweight Championship 4 years ago because you were jealous that I had taken the position of the top guy in the WWE... but this time the best man will walk out as the WWE Champion... me.

~ Orton coldly glares at a startled Todd Grisham, before walking away...

4 – JBL vs. TJ Wilson

TJ Wilson has his friend and JBL’s rival, DH Smith, in his corner for his debut match on Raw against the longest-reigning WWE Champion in Smackdown roster, and in the opening stages of the match, JBL is caught off guard when Wilson impresses the audience with some good offence, and almost gets an upset victory following a springboard dropkick, but JBL kicks out at the last second. After that, the contest swings back in the favour of the self-proclaimed “Wrestling God”, and when TJ runs off the ropes following some blows to the head to follow it up, BAM – JBL lays the young Wilson out with a Clothesline from Hell! Looking at a downbeat DH Smith, JBL makes the cover on TJ Wilson, and gets the victory over the Canadian youngster.

Winner – JBL @ 6:18

“Longhorn” blares out and a content John “Bradshaw” Layfield gets to his feet, having his hand raised by the referee as he smirks at DH Smith. JBL looks at Smith, before grabbing TJ Wilson and pulling him to his feet, but it proves to be the cue for DH to get physical, as he enters the ring, and charges at JBL, but right at the last second, JBL slides out of the ring!

The crowd boo the cowardly JBL as he shakes his head and mockingly waves at DH Smith, as he checks on TJ Wilson who is holding himself up with assistance from the ring ropes. Smith helps Wilson out of the ring and they leave, earning cheers and applause from the Indianapolis faithful.

Jim Ross: Not a bad debut from the young TJ Wilson by any means, but in the end, the force of John “Bradshaw” Layfield was just too much for TJ to overcome.

Jerry Lawler: An unknown like TJ Wilson has no right to compete with the likes of the “Wrestling God” JBL, JR! I bet John’s happy he got that done and over with!

Jim Ross: I don’t know about you, King, but TJ Wilson impressed me tonight with that match, and I for one look forward to seeing TJ compete again in the near future here on Monday Night Raw. But still to come, folks... ‘tis a heated rivalry rekindled; Randy Orton, John Cena, one-on-one.

Jerry Lawler: And then, DX is re-united!... But not in the way these fans would like it to be, because Triple H and Shawn Michaels square off in our main event.

The camera cuts backstage, where CARLITO is walking backstage... with a six-pack of beer in his hands.

Jim Ross: Why in the world does Carlito have a six-pack of beer? We’ll find out, when we return!

Jerry Lawler: Maybe he wants to reach out to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin? Haha!

Back on Monday Night Raw...

***COOL***

Heat fills the Conseco Fieldhouse, as CARLITO walks out, still with that six-pack of beer in his hand. Smirking at the crowd, Carlito walks down the ramp, pointing at his beer, and he then climbs onto the ring apron, stepping into the ring and taking a microphone.

Carlito: I bet ‘dat you’re all wonderin’ why Carlito has a six-pack of beer in his hands, huh?

~ Mixed reaction.

Carlito: Actually I know you are, because especially in a dump like Indianapolis, y'all want to get as hung-over as possible, 'cause none of you have anythin' to live for.

~ Massive heat.

Carlito: But 'dis beer is not for your pleasure, no, no... ‘dis is for CM Punk.

~ Initial cheers for CM Punk, but it turns to boos when they realize that beer consumption would contradict Punk’s straight-edge lifestyle.

Carlito: Punk... I know ‘dat a lot has happened with us over the last 2 weeks, and I want tA' give this six-pack of beer – Which Carlito brought himself – ta' you... as a, uh... “premature peace offering”.

~ Mixed reaction from the crowd, not understanding what Carlito means.

Carlito: You see, Punk... We’re going ta’ have our match at Backlash, with your Money in the Bank Briefcase on the line. And when I win ‘dat match and the briefcase...

~ Boos, the crowd disagree.

Carlito: You can drown your sorrows while you’re alone at home with all of ‘dis beer, and I never thought I’d say ‘dis ta’ you, but Punk, 'dat... ‘das cool. So Punk, I’d like you ta’ come down to this ring, so I can give you this gift.

***THIS FIRE BURNS***

Ask and you shall receive! CM PUNK walks through the curtain, getting one of the loudest reactions of the night, and he holds his Money in The Bank briefcase in the air before striding down the aisle and sliding under the ropes and into the ring, getting to his feet and receiving a microphone, as he gives a questionable look at Carlito’s six-pack of beer.

CM Punk: You're kidding me, right?... Carlito... we’ve only been at each other’s throats for 3 weeks and already you know exactly how to piss me off, so really, Carlito, bravo.

~ Cheers for Punk, as Carlito simply shrugs his shoulders.

CM Punk: I’ve said this before to you, and I will say it again... I, am straight-edge. I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs, and sorry to disappoint you, Carlito, but I don’t drink alcohol either.

Carlito: Come on, man, ‘dat’s really gettin’ old now; don’t you ever want ta' know what it’s like ta' enjoy a nice can of beer? Because ‘dat... ‘dat's-

CM Punk: Blah blah blah, I know what you’re gonna say, Carlito, you’re gonna say that it’s “cool”, but you see it’s not. Vomiting and being arrested on a night out isn’t what I consider to be cool. Being straight-edge, it’s not a publicity stunt, it’s not something that I do for a little while to seek attention, no, no. It’s for life.

~ More cheers for Mr. MITB.

CM Punk: I don’t know what you do in your spare time, Carlito, but my addiction... is wrestling. Experiencing Championship gold tastes a hell of a lot better than alcohol would, and-

Carlito: Punk, you of all people can’t say ‘dat, because you’re so-called “straight-edge”, you have no idea. Come on, man, just have some.

~ Surprisingly, Punk contemplates it.

CM Punk: You know what, Carlito?... You’re right; maybe I should just let all of my frustrations go, y'know?

A VERY mixed reaction as CM Punk and Carlito smile at each other, and Carlito hands CM Punk the six-pack of beer.

CM Punk: But then again... maybe not.

~ CM Punk drops the microphone... BEFORE NAILING CARLITO IN THE SKULL WITH THE SIX-PACK OF BEER!!! The crowd go nuts as a laughing Punk stands over Carlito, and he looks at the beer, before opening the pack and taking two beers, POURING THE BEER OVER THE BODY OF CARLITO! It doesn’t finish there, as Punk gets two more beer cans, AND CONTINUES TO POUR IT ON CARLITO! CM Punk finally gets two more and turns Carlito over, pouring the beer all over his face, before taking his briefcase and leaving the ring as “This Fire Burns” blares out. Punk holds his briefcase high in the air and mocks Carlito by saying “That... That’s cool” before exiting.

Jim Ross: Carlito has been played for a fool by CM Punk! That arrogant SOB should have known better than get on Punk’s bad side once again!

Jerry Lawler: CM Punk’s going to pay for that beer shower of Carlito, JR, and Carlito’s revenge will come at BACKLASH, when he becomes the NEW Mr. Money in The Bank, haha!

Jim Ross: Who knows... maybe Carlito liked it, apart from being hit over the head with the six-pack of beer, of course.

***

A video package plays, and “One Of A Kind” plays in the background as the video shows clips of Rob Van Dam, such as winning the Money In The Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 22, winning at WrestleMania 23 with the ECW Originals, and finally winning the WWE Championship from John Cena at One Night Stand. Then, RVD appears on the screen.

RVD: Rob... Van... Dam, is coming home.

“RVD RETURNS IN 2 WEEKS!”

***

Backstage, CHRIS JERICHO is walking around with the Intercontinental Championship over his shoulder, getting cheers from the audience. However, out of no-where, MR. KENNEDY AND SHELTON BENJAMIN JUMP JERICHO FROM BEHIND! The crowd boo as Kennedy and Benjamin stomp away at Y2J until they get Jericho to his feet and throw him through some double doors, which lead to the parking lot. Kennedy opens a car door as Benjamin throws Jericho into the car, before setting him up with half of his body in the car, half of it not.

Mr. Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin nod at each other, BEFORE KENNEDY SLAMS THE CAR DOOR ON CHRIS JERICHO! The crowd give off massive heat as Chris Jericho, now BUSTED OPEN, falls to the floor in the parking lot, and Kennedy and Shelton watch and laugh.

Shelton Benjamin: So, we have a deal... right?

~ The two of them shake hands.

Mr. Kennedy: Yeah... Yeah we do.

~ Benjamin nods before walking away contently, as Chris Jericho lies on the floor, blood dripping from his forehead, as Kennedy kneels down to Jericho’s level.

Mr. Kennedy: (Whispering) Sorry, Chris, ol’ buddy... (Pats him on the shoulder) but you’re not gonna make it to Backlash.

Kennedy gets to his feet, leaving the Intercontinental Championship next to Chris Jericho, and walks away, as the screen fades...

~ SMACKDOWN RE-BOUND~

{We see Shane McMahon addressing the WWE Universe}

Shane McMahon: I found out earlier tonight that at Backlash... I have to choose a representative, as does Vickie Guerrero, and these two representatives will fight at Backlash, with the winner ensuring that whoever is in their corner becomes the sole General Manager of SmackDown, with the other being out of a job.

~ Cheers, from those who expect Vickie to be out of a job after Backlash.

Shane McMahon: Well, I acted quick, and I can now say that I HAVE MY REPRESENTATIVE!

~ Pop for Shane.

Shane McMahon: But I want Vickie to come out here and reveal hers. So Vickie, as an invitation from your business partner... please, come out here and show us your representative.

~ Moments later, Vickie Guerrero is wheeled out by Chavo Guerrero, getting tons of heat from the audience. Chavo wheels his aunty down and helps her into the ring, as Shane gives her a microphone.

Vickie Guerrero: Much like you, Shane... I have my representative ready. And I would like to introduce him to you and all of these people right... now.

~ Boos.

Vickie Guerrero: So ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you, my representative...

...

...

...

“THE WORLD’S STRONGEST MAN”... MARK... HENRY!

The crowd boo as “Somebodies Gonna Get It” blares out and MARK HENRY walks out onto the stage, raising his arms in the air and letting out a resounding roar, before walking down the aisle and making his way into the ring, shaking hands with a beaming Vickie Guerrero and giving Shane McMahon a scornful glare.

Vickie Guerrero: Try and top that... Shane.

Shane McMahon: Oh, yes I will, Vickie. Because, you know what they say... it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you MY representative...

...

...

...

“THE REAL DEAL”... BOBBY – LASHLEY~!!!!!!!!!

The crowd go WILD as “Hell Will Be Callin’ Your Name” blares out and BOBBY LASHLEY, who hasn’t been seen in 9 months, walks out onto the stage!!! Lashley makes a pose as a huge pyro display ignites on the stage and Bobby storms down the rampway, entering the ring and shaking hands with Shane, before smirking at an inanimate Vickie Guerrero.

Michael Cole: TH- TH- THAT’S BOBBY LASHLEY!!! WE HAVEN’T SEEN LASHLEY IN ALMOST 9 MONTHS! BUT HE IS BACK, AND HE IS SHANE MCMAHON’S REPRESENTATIVE!

Bobby Lashley and Mark Henry walk into the centre of the ring and have a stare-down with the two of them talking trash to each other... UNTIL BOBBY LASHLEY BEGINS TO THROW RIGHT HANDS AT MARK HENRY! The crowd pop as Lashley and Henry exchange blows, until Mark kicks Bobby in the mid-section and Irish whips Lashley into the ropes, but it backfires, AS LASHLEY TAKES MARK HENRY DOWN WITH A SPEAR!

The crowd go nuts as Bobby Lashley gets on top of Mark Henry and continues to attack him, until Shane McMahon restrains the raring Lashley and Henry slowly gets to his feet, as Vickie Guerrero instructs him to not continue. Vickie and “The World’s Strongest Man leave the ring with Henry clutching his ribs as a result of Lashley’s spear and the two head up the rampway as “Hell Will Be Callin’ Your Name” blares out again and Shane McMahon raises Bobby Lashley’s hand in the air to another huge pop from the audience.

Michael Cole: OH MY! THE RETURNING BOBBY LASHLEY ONE-ON-ONE WITH MARK HENRY AT BACKLASH – IT IS GOING TO BE HUGE!

Cole’s last words echoe, as the screen fades...

5 – Randy Orton vs. John Cena

The bell rings, and Randy Orton and John Cena immediately turn to face each other. They say some quiet but heated words, before circling each other around the ring and then jumping hastily into the lock-up as the match is now officially underway. Orton and Cena spend several moments trying to outpower one another, until Cena pulls Orton towards him and gets Randy Orton up for an FU!!! Could this match be about to finish before it’s even barely begun? No! Orton slithers his way out of it, and leaves the ring. The crowd boo the WWE Champion as he stands outside the ring and looks at Cena, who lets out a roar and pounds at his chest, working up the crowd. Randy circles the ring, before sliding in, and the two competitors lock up again. Cena wrenches Orton’s arm, and pulls him in for a clothesline, but Orton ducks it, and now that he is behind Cena, lifts him up for a back body drop, but John Cena manages to counter it, and takes Orton down with a cross body, making the cover, 1... Randy Orton gets the shoulder up. Orton gets up and backs into the corner, looking surprised that Cena has been dominant in the opening stages of this match, and Cena charges at Orton, but it proves to be a mistake, as Orton nails Cena with a boot to the skull and John groggily turns around, as Orton lifts Cena up and plants him with a back body drop.

Randy subsequently gets Cena in a headlock, and maintains the pressure until John Cena heroically fights to his feet and lifts Randy Orton up, dumping him over the ropes and out of the ring, as he hits the concrete floor with a thud! The crowd cheer John Cena, and Cena slides under the ropes and out of the ring, getting Randy Orton to his feet. Cena wraps his arms around Orton, and drives the WWE Champion spine-first into the security barricade! The nearby fans cheer and chant “CE-NA!”, and a spectator shouts “KICK HIS ASS, CENA!” as Cena gets Orton to his feet once again and gets Orton and himself back in the ring. John Cena makes the cover, 1... 2... Randy Orton kicks out. Cena gets Orton to his feet, and he then runs off the ropes, but Orton grabs Cena from behind and goes for an RKO, but Cena pushes Orton into the corner. “The Doctor of Thuganomics” runs at Orton, but he moves out of the way as Cena goes into the corner, and as Cena groggily approaches the middle of the ring, Orton nails Cena with an inverted backbreaker! Randy Orton makes the cover, 1... 2... John Cena gets his shoulder up off of the canvas.

Randy Orton gets up and runs off the ropes, pausing before planting an unceremonious knee drop onto the skull of John Cena. Orton takes the arm of Cena and then locks Cena in an armbar, doing his best to inflict as much pain on the arm of John Cena whilst Cena writhes in agony. The crowd spur Cena on and chant “LET’S GO, CENA!”, which seems to work as Cena rolls over, and rolls Orton up! 1... 2... Randy Orton kicks out. Both get to their feet and Orton runs at John Cena, but Cena plants “The One-Man Dynasty” with a side slam, and then he looks into the crowd, raising his hand in the air! The crowd go wild, as they know what is coming, and John Cena tells Orton “You can’t see me”, before running off the ropes, performing some gang-orientated theatrics, and connecting with the 5 Knuckle Shuffle! John Cena stands over Randy Orton, waiting for Orton to get to his feet, and when he does, Cena lifts Orton onto his shoulders, in position for an FU! However, Randy Orton finds his way out of it, AND OUT OF NO-WHERE NAILS JOHN CENA WITH AN RKO! Where did that come from?! Randy Orton and John Cena both lie motionless on the mat as the crowd continue to cheer, and Orton slowly crawls towards Cena and gets an arm over him! 1... 2... JOHN CENA GETS THE SHOULDER UP!

The crowd are relieved as the match is not over yet, but Randy Orton cannot believe that John Cena kicked out of the RKO, and he struggles to his feet, backing into the corner. Several moments later, John Cena is on his knees, and Orton runs at Cena, going for the PUNT... BUT JOHN CENA TAKES ORTON DOWN, AND LOCKS ORTON IN THE STFU!!! THE CROWD ARE GOING NUTS AS CENA LETS OUT A ROAR AND RANDY ORTON IS SCREAMING IN PAIN, HE WANTS TO TAP OUT BUT HE CAN’T! ORTON SLOWLY EDGES TOWARDS THE ROPES, AND IS WITHIN TOUCHING DISTANCE OF THE ROPES...

BUT CENA GETS RANDY ORTON BACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!!!

IT’S BACK TO SQUARE ONE, AS JOHN CENA IS – NOT – LETTING GO OF RANDY ORTON, AND IT SEEMS THAT ORTON HAS NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO TAP OUT... BUT SHAWN MICHAELS ENTERS THE RING WITH A STEEL CHAIR AND SLAMS IT OVER THE BACK OF JOHN CENA, CAUSING A DISQUALIFICATION!!!

Winner – John Cena via disqualification @ 11:23

The crowd are incensed, as Shawn Michaels stands over John Cena who is clutching his back whilst Randy Orton rolls out of the ring and crawls up the rampway with his WWE Championship. Michaels backs away and waits for Cena to get up, and as Cena does, HBK goes for Sweet Chin Music, but instead Cena counters, AND LIFTS MICHAELS UP FOR AN FU!

However, Shawn Michaels fights his way out of the predicament, and then quickly leaves the ring, running up the rampway as John Cena looks on, disappointed that for the 2nd week in a row he hasn’t been able to get his hands on Shawn Michaels.

Jim Ross: For God’s sake! That selfish bastard Shawn Michaels just ruined what was a fantastic match in my eyes, and John Cena once again isn’t able to make Michaels pay the price for it!

Jerry Lawler: Come on, JR, you actually think Shawn Michaels was going to let John Cena win such a big match? No way, that’s not HBK! He wants to end John Cena’s career, he doesn’t want him anywhere near the WWE Championship, he wants Cena all to himself so he can pick him apart, limb by limb!

Then, WILLIAM REGAL walks out onto the stage, getting heat from the audience.

William Regal: John, John, calm down... I know that you haven’t been able to get your hands on Shawn Michaels yet... but you will, at Backlash.

The crowd cheer, as they know what is coming.

William Regal: Because at Backlash, in less than 2 weeks... IT WILL BE JOHN CENA VERSUS “THE HEART BREAK KID” SHAWN MICHAELS, ONE-ON-ONE!!!

The crowd go nuts as John Cena smirks and nods his head at what he has heard, and “My Time Is Now” plays as Cena leaves the ring, heading up the ramp whilst slapping hands with some fans.

Jim Ross: BY GAWD! WE’RE GOING TO SEE JOHN CENA AND SHAWN MICHAELS ONE-ON-ONE AT BACKLASH! And coming up next, Michaels is in action, AGAINST “THE GAME”, TRIPLE H! DO NOT MISS IT!

{Commercials}

6 – Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H

The bell rings and the crowd cheer as Shawn Michaels and Triple H have a face-off, much like the beginning of the match between Randy Orton and John Cena which preceded this. “TRIPLE H!” chants break out in the audience and Triple H says “I’m gonna kick your ass” to Michaels who laughs it off, before they back away from each other and then hastily jump into the lock-up, as the match begins. Triple H and Michaels briefly separate before locking up again, and HBK gets Triple H in a headlock. “The Game” pushes Michaels into the ropes, and as he comes back, Triple H takes down Shawn with a shoulder block. The crowd cheer as Michaels quickly gets back to his feet and shakes his head at Triple H, who gives Shawn a crotch chop which gets a loud reaction, before they lock up once again. Michaels kicks HHH in the mid-section and Irish whips Triple H against the ropes. Michaels lies down as Triple H jumps over him and runs off the opposite side of the ropes, but as he comes back, Michaels takes him down with a pin-point dropkick, and Shawn springs back up, as does Triple H, and HBK gives “The King of Kings” a crotch chop of his own, which gets heat from the crowd.

Michaels runs at Triple H but he kicks him in the mid-section and hits him with a handful of punches, before wrenching his arm, and pulling him in, but Shawn counters it into a chokehold. Michaels doesn’t let go of HHH as “The Game”gasps for air, and Michaels applies the pressure until Triple H slowly falls to the mat. The crowd start up another “TRIPLE H!” chant as the referee holds Triple H’s hand in the air... and lets it go down. The ref lifts it up again... and it goes down. The referee lifts up for a third and final time, and it goes do-NO! Triple H is still in the match! Visibly shaking, Triple H builds up some steam, before fighting to his feet, and Michaels jumps on his back, but it turns out to be a bad move, as Triple H reverses into the corner of the ring, with HBK taking the crash into the turnbuckles! Triple H seats Shawn Michaels on the top rope and he climbs up. HHH grabs Michaels, going for a superplex, but then Shawn Michaels pushes Triple H off of the top rope, and he falls down to the canvas! Michaels looks around, before going for his trademark ELBOW DROP... BUT TRIPLE H MOVES OUT OF THE WAY AT THE LAST SPLIT-SECOND!

The crowd cheer at Shawn Michaels’ expense as he holds the tip of his elbow in pain, and he slowly gets to his feet, walking into a facebuster from Triple H, which is followed up by a vicious clothesline from “The Game”! Triple H makes the first pinfall of the night on Michaels, 1... 2... Shawn Michaels kicks out. HHH gets Michaels to his feet and tucks his head in his legs, hooking the arms in position for the Pedigree... but Shawn up-ends Triple H, and pins him with a bridge! 1... 2... Triple H kicks out, avoiding a scare! Both competitors quickly get back to their feet, and they clothesline each other, as they both fall to the canvas, and they both lie on the mat inanimately, as a “TRIPLE H!!” chant starts again, but is countered, rather surprisingly, by a “LET’S GO MICHAELS!” chant, despite Shawn Michaels’ inexcusable actions over the past few weeks since WrestleMania. Both slowly get back to their feet and they exchange right hands, until Michaels builds up consecutive punches and he runs off the ropes, but Triple H nails HBK with a SPINEBUSTER! Triple H slowly hooks the leg of Shawn Michaels, 1... 2... Shawn Michaels gets the shoulder up! Triple H has a glance at the referee, before struggling to his feet, and getting Michaels up and going for a back drop but Shawn lands on his feet behind Triple H and as “The Game” turns around and runs at Shawn Michaels, Michaels holds the top rope down as Triple H falls out of the ring and takes a crash on the concrete floor!

Shawn Michaels remains in the ring and waits for Triple H to get to his feet, and as HHH does, Michaels climbs to the top rope. As soon as Triple H sees Michaels, HBK leaps off the top rope, and takes out “The King of Kings”, as well as himself! The crowd cheer as Michaels and Triple H lie on the concrete floor before they get up several moments later, and Michaels drives Triple H spine-first into the security wall! Shawn Michaels wastes no time in getting back in the ring as the referee is on the count of 6, and by 8, Triple H is only just starting to get up. The referee counts 9, but a split-second before the ref can complete the count of 10, Triple H get back in the ring in the nick of time!!! The crowd cheer for “The Cerebral Assassin”, but Michaels is incensed that HHH is still in the match, and he stomps viciously at his opponent, until the referee restrains him. This gives Triple H a chance to get back up, and when Michaels runs at him, Triple H kicks him in the mid-section, and gets him in position for the pedigree once again, but Michaels up-ends him again, and instead of pinning him, MICHAELS LOCKS TRIPLE H IN THE SHARPSHOOTER!

VERY mixed reaction as the look on Michaels’ face is that of an intent one, while Triple H is going red and screaming in pain. The “TRIPLE H!” chant in the audience is louder than ever before as the Indianapolis crowd try to spur on Triple H, and it appears to work, as HHH edges his way towards the ropes and is almost there... BUT SHAWN MICHAELS DRAGS TRIPLE H BACK INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE RING! “TRIPLE H HAS TO TAP, BY GAWD HE HAS TO!!!” screams JR, as Triple H seems like he wants to, but he can’t. Triple H lifts up his hand to slam it against the mat, but before he does, he shakes his head and lets out a loud roar, before using every – ounce – of – strength within his body to crawl across the ring... AND TRIPLE H GETS TO THE ROPES! The crowd go wild as Triple H holds onto the bottom rope for dear life, as Shawn Michaels is livid, almost tearing out his hair as he screams “WHAT?!” at the awestruck referee. Michaels looks back at Triple H, before backing into the corner, and slowly waiting for Triple H to get to his feet. HHH does, and Michaels goes for SWEET CHIN MUSIC... BUT TRIPLE H KICKS HBK IN THE MID-SECTION, HOOKS THE ARMS, AND CONNECTS WITH THE PEDIGREE!!! The crowd go nuts as Triple H lifelessly falls to the floor, gasping for air, as he looks at Michaels, before slowly, ever so slowly, crawling across the ring, and making the cover! This – HAS – to be it!

1...

2...

3-NO!!! SHAWN MICHAELS GETS HIS FOOT ON THE ROPE!

The crowd think that the match is over and they’re going wild, as does Triple H, but when the crowd and HHH see Michaels’ foot on the rope, they heavily boo, and “The Game” roars in anger. Triple H ruthlessly gets Michaels to his feet, but Michaels pushes HHH away, and when Triple H runs at HBK, he goes for Sweet Chin Music, but Triple H catches Michaels’ leg, but Michaels knocks Triple H out with an ENZUIGURI!!! Once again, both competitors fall to the floor, until several moments later, Shawn Michaels slowly climbs to the top rope. Michaels takes one last breath, before flying off the top rope, AND CONNECTING WITH THE ELBOW DROP!!! Shawn Michaels and Triple H lie on the canvas until HBK nips up!!! HBK stands in the corner of the ring and waits for HHH to get up. Triple H gets up, and Michaels goes for it... YES! SHAWN MICHAELS NAILS TRIPLE H WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!! Michaels slowly edges towards Triple H, and is about to lay his arm over Triple H, when...

???: STOP!!! STOP THE MATCH!!!

~ The crowd are confused, but boo heavily, when the Raw General Manager WILLIAM REGAL is standing on the stage, recurrently shouting “STOP!”

William Regal: This match has gone on for too long! My deepest apologies, but the show is almost over, so this match must end in a TIME LIMIT DRAW!!!

~ The heat in the arena is unimaginable, as the crowd are incensed that the match has finished in a time limit draw.

Winner – Time Limit Draw @ 20:00

Jim Ross: Aww, for God’s sake, first the John Cena and Randy Orton match ends in a disqualification thanks to Shawn Michaels, and now the match between Triple H and Michaels ends in a damn time limit draw! I thought we were going to see two fantastic matches, and we did, but why the heck did they both have to end like this?!

The crowd are continuing to boo, as Triple H and Shawn Michaels lie inanimately in the ring, but then RANDY ORTON sprints down the ramp, and enters the ring! Orton grabs hold of Triple H’s leg and pulls him out of the ring, and when Orton and Triple H are on the outside, the WWE Champion tears up the padding from the concrete floor, unceremoniously throwing it to the side, and when Orton grabs Triple H, who has been propped up only by the ring apron, Orton goes for the RKO... BUT TRIPLE H COUNTERS, AND GETS OUT OF IT AS RANDY ORTON CRASHES ONTO THE UNPROTECTED CONCRETE FLOOR!!!

The crowd go nuts as Triple H stands over Randy Orton, and is about to make a pose, when Shawn Michaels leaves the ring, and takes down Triple H on the ramp, pummelling him with punches, but then JOHN CENA RUNS DOWN THE RAMP, AND GOES STRAIGHT FOR SHAWN MICHAELS! Cena and Michaels exchange right hands, and HBK goes for Sweet Chin Music, but Cena counters, and lifts HBK up, PLANTING MICHAELS WITH AN FU ON THE RAMP!!!

The volume in the crowd is at an all-time high as John Cena stands over Shawn Michaels and makes his “Word Life” pose, whilst Triple H looks at Cena before walking up the rampway and leaving. Cena takes his shirt off and throws it into the crowd, before leaving, as the show comes to a close.

Jim Ross: BY GAWD, WHAT A WAY TO CLOSE MONDAY NIGHT RAW! ALL HELL HAS BROKEN LOOSE IN INDIANAPOLIS, FINALLY JOHN CENA HAS GOT HIS HANDS ON SHAWN MICHAELS, AND HE WILL IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, AT BACKLASH!!! GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY, AND WE WILL SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEK, RIGHT HERE ON RAW!!!

There's Raw, then. I hope I've got back on track with this, as I wasn't pleased with my Smackdown, and I really enjoyed writing Michaels/HHH, I wish I could have written a match twice the length of it but it's just a regular show

Raw review:

Intro: Good that you show a video package to catch everyone up to last week, and announcers lead in and acknowledge HBK's recent turn. Very cool that he turned instead of Jericho btw.

Y2J/Kennedy: Good segment here. Gah, Kennedy is a lot better as a face to me. D: But anyway, you did alright, it is hard for me to imagine Kennedy saying a lot of those things, but I understand it as I read it over and this is probably gonna be the show stealer at Backlash and this segment was good setup, Y2J was in character, very nice.

Melina/Beth/Mickie: Hmm, Beth keeping the title is good, although I like Melina. =. Odd angle with Melina attacking Mickie, maybe this will set up a 3-way at the PPV for the title.

Santino/Burchill: Good segment, here. Nice comedy with Santino and good job with Burchill fortifying his status in his feud with Kane and even rooting forward to Kane was funny. I am hoping Katie plays some kind of role in this feud going forward.

McIntyre: Good promo setting up him wanting to get the title followed by a decisive squash.

HBK/Trips: Talk about out of character! Triple H is like the ultimate asshole, that isn't how it would happen. :shifty: But seriously, that was a good segment illustrating Shawn's heel character, even though I personally despise Trips, you did a good job, especially with HBK wanting to take him out for good.

Kane/Santino: Ha ha! I like that Burchill tripped Santino, it was humorous and then showed that Paul is a jerk, when he pushed off Kane. I would have rather just have had a Kane suash than this though, Santino sucks. The post match was well-done though, Burchill looked tough and Kane looked like a badass, as usual. Good job.

Randy Orton interview: It did a good job showing his cold character, he was very in-character here. He addressed Cena and Trips in there with no crap pretty much. He got to the point and you did a good job with it.

JBL/TJ Wilson: Gah, poor TJ. But at least he got put over by the announcers and had a good showing against JBL, and good thing DH was made to look good. This feud looks close to a blowoff, I am unsure as to who is gonna come out on top.

Carlito/Punk: Sweet segment, except I thought you overplayed Carlito's talking a little bit, he really does not sound that bad in real life. Ha ha. Anyway, it was a "cool" segment, pun intended. Punk looks strong and all, I think Punk is gonna win anyway at Backlash.

RVD Video: Sweet.

Kennedy/Shelton/Y2J: Nice! I am glad this at least gives Shelton something to do with the "deal" with Kennedy. I am pretty sure it would be an IC Title shot. Y2J's probably winning at Backlash.

Cena/Orton: Nice match here. I liked everything you did here in the match, it was all good up until the interference, though I guess it had to be done. And Backlash is looking pretty good so far.

Trips/HBK match: Great job but time limit draw? Doh! You should do something to announce time limits before every match if you are gonna do that, otherwise it just looks like a copout, especially since there was a brawl afterward, it made no sense. But the brawl was well done so you did okay.

Overall: It was a good show to read, you just need to work on your matches a little and some booking isn't perfect but it was enjoyable. Nice job. I am looking forward to reading your next show and stuff. So keep it up!

Quote:
In a surprising turn of events, it appears that Paul Heyman is back with the WWE. Heyman left almost 2 years ago and didn't leave behind a very good relationship with Vince McMahon, but if this is true then obviously the two have patched things up. Rumours are going around that Heyman could be a manager for a certain Superstar, and Chris Masters, who has been re-signed, could be in line for Paul's services, and ultimately a push. With Rob Van Dam back as well, never say never to an RVD/Masters feud in the coming months, with obvious links between Van Dam and Heyman from their old ECW days.

It appeared that there was a bit of tension between Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins after they lost to John Morrison and The Miz on Smackdown, but it will probably not go anywhere in the near future. The WWE creative team have high hopes for Ryder, and could launch a solo career for Zack soon. A scenario would be drafting him to Raw and making him a face and also giving him a Shelton Benjamin-like introduction, by making a big impact with a victory over an established, or he could turn on Hawkins and forge his own path.

Once one more match is announced, there will probably not be any more matches scheduled for Backlash. 6 are announced so far and it is most likely the maximum, so feuds like Paul Burchill/Kane and DH Smith/JBL might have to wait to get PPV exposure if the last slot is taken. However, one, or both, of the feuds will possibly be featured at the PPV after Backlash, Judgment Day, which takes place in May. The creative are happy with how the Burchill/Kane feud has gone so far, but think that the feud between DH Smith and JBL could do with more development. The introduction of TJ Wilson has spiced things up a little, and he could get involved in a way.

The tag team division on both Raw and Smackdown is floundering, and the creative are doing their best to come up with ideas to spark interest in it again. The division on Smackdown is more in-depth than on Raw, but JTG and Shad, collectively known as Cryme Tyme, are back in the company, so they will likely go to Raw.

The latest edition of Raw drew a 3.6 rating, which is not too bad from creative's point of view.
As for Smackdown, it should be up in the next week or so. I've put out an advertisement for a potential new writer for the show, but until then I'll remain as writer for it.

Okay first-off, you're giving away too much with your news-stories. It's more spoiler than rumour. Second, I'd advise that you stick to this thread and continue writing both. Seriously, remember the last two times? This is the most consistent thread going at the moment, either that or Nige's, so don't get someone in who takes ages to write and is unreliable.

Hey, I Know I'm new here but I'm looking to join up someone's BTB. I'm going to be honest and say that this is my first BTB on this site but I have some on other forums. I've read both your shows and know what's going on, so I know the Palumbo/Finlay feud you have going as well as the Fatal Four Way for backlash for the US and even the Main Event feud and finally the SHane vs. Vickie feud. I read it all just so if you were to chose me I wouldn't destroy everything you were building, I'm willing to continue writing it the same style you do and everything. I've got some ideas and so I'm looking to join you if you let me. I guarantee I want ditch you.
