World Wrestling Entertainment: New Era

On September 1st 2009 Vince McMahon stood down as Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment. Stephanie McMahon was then appointed the new chairman of the WWE with Shane McMahon becoming the CEO Of the WWE.

Stephanie’s first action was to re brand the WWE, she cancelled the ECW and Smackdown shows and made Raw a 2 and half hour show. Superstars would be used for up and coming wrestlers.

Then it was announced that the WWE would be cutting its Pay per views to just 6 pay per views and year. They said that cutting the ppv calendar down give storylines more time on the TV Shows.

On the roster front the WWE announced that it had released some of its superstars and may consider signing up new talent in the next month or so.

The WWE Creative team was changed as well, In charge of booking Shows was Triple H, Shane McMahon and Michael Hayes. And William Regal and Dave Finley were promoted as talent scouts.

It was also announced that there will be no more Guest Hosts of raw and that a Head of Authority will be installed
