If I ever do another project on here, I'd like to book RAW from SummerSlam 1997 on, with a partner booking Nitro during the same era. Every few weeks both shows would be posted together, head to head. Think it would lots of fun.
There aren't many people on here that could book 1997 successfully, especially on the WCW side of things. June 1997 to June 1999 was by far my fav time period in wrestling. just so much change over those 24 months.

There aren't many people on here that watched wrestling in that time period or were old enough to get an understanding of it. It would be interesting to see a thread like that i have to say.

Sitting in front of the TV, got everything crossed. Wish they kept it until prime time, when you could have a party, few drinks. I think it's on every TV in the house. LOL.
I was pretty young during 1997, like 11, but as I got older I went back and rediscovered the product at the time and it helped me a lot.
I think there was a 1998 or a 1999 RAW IS WAR BTB around a few weeks ago. Unfortunately retro threads tend to fail due to lack of attention. T
Retro threads also fail because it's so different to what you watch now. It makes it awfully hard to adjust, as you're so used to a particular pattern, yet you're writing in a totally different one.
I don't like threads from the past. The whole point is to change the current direction, not recreate or better the past, at least imo. I can't get into threads from before 2006 because they were all good years, 99/00/01/02/03 in particular. People bring up current talent WAY to quickly and are influenced by what happened IRL.

Disagree with the first two sentences. BTB is about booking anything you want to, really, as long as it's wrestling. Saying people shouldn't be able to reshape history yet should be allowed to reshape the modern day seems wrong.
I do agree about the push thing though. Just about every WCW '01 BTB that pops up comes with the guy saying "Oh yeah, I'm going to push AJ, don't worry, he's awesome." It's quite amusing.
