WOAH! First Post! YAY! Happy May everyone

Now onto topic, does people ever feel that their BTB is just stale without any images whatsoever such as graphics/gfx?

Thoughts?

Images and graphics do aboslutely nothing to make a BTB appealing to me.

Infact, certain people's use of graphics and their coding/layouts/colour schemes are what can put you off a BTB.

I would also like to take this time to let you all know that the next edition of the BTB Newsletter is on it's way and should be up within the next 2 weeks, depending on a certain lazy moderator

Exactly right. As long as the writing in the BTB is good, I will read.

Some people on this forum (not going to use names) use to many graphics. Using graphics to advertise things on weekly shows is terrible, using thirty different colors to code one show is appalling. The bookers who do this do not impress me one bit, if anything they just turn me off more because their BTB's end up looking like a coloring book.

Just write good material and you will be alright, if you use all those graphics and images and shit, you will turn me and probably many other people off.

Also regarding this stuff before some people come in here and start sticking up for themselves and their lackluster layouts I just want to say something. I remember once someone brought up the crappy layouts and someone mentioned that it's because to many people are old school in their taste, and that these colorful things are new school, this is not true, there is no comparison at all between new school/old school, the colorful things just suck.

BTB Newsletter coming along is great, I really, REALLY, can not wait to read it. I better be in name association this time Reney .

I only use two colors per show, though I consider myself an afficianado for graphics. However, graphics, if done horribly and choppy, turn me off considerably. If they're done well, good enough for me. I like graphics, and as the old tired adage goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and sometimes conveying events in graphics can be beneficial, in my opinion of course. Good writing > good graphics anyday, but put them together, and they work well.

That's another problem. The people who pride themselves on suing graphics for weekly shows don't even have decent ones. From the couple i have glanced at, the writing ain't all that flash anyway, work on the writing before coloring in your page people .

Good graphics are a nice addition to a thread but of course, they aren't necessary.

I like a graphic to pump up the PPV, but honestly when it comes down to fonts and all that jazz, I think the writing is really what it is about.

I hate large amounts of graphics in one page just because it slows my PC down so much. However, a great graphic can be pretty pleasant to see in a BTB, and when used right can make it easier to read some parts of a BTB. But they aren't essential for a BTB.

In terms of layout, a over-colored show can be pretty annoying. I prefer reading a cleaner, black and white type format.
