Re: The Inner Circle Presents - The BTB Newsletter
I am very happy that I was playing football last night and didn’t have to read through all of this tbh, but now, I’m going to have my say on this.
Like DC pointed out, this is no different to previous newsletters. It has the interview, who just happened to be a member of the IC. Para is a guy who’s been around a long time and deserves to have been interviewed. The fact he is part of the IC is pretty much irrelevant here. There have always been digs, and as far as I can see, there were only two, at Kanefan & Grendrill, and both were clearly jokes, and not even that offensive to those in question.
The Hall of Fame part by Szumi wasn’t about the Inner Circle at all, and it was a very intelligent piece, as well as being very informative in regard to the Hall of Fame next month.
I can however see why people outside of the IC have made certain comments, but some of them are quite ridiculous to be fair in regard to trying to take over, which has been addressed. I think having other people outside of the IC involved would be beneficial in the future, and I know that others have asked to help out.
The problem that I have with it is that having “The Inner Circle Presents” plastered on the newsletter and comments like “This is IC approved” are the reasons why relations are becoming strained at the moment. I don’t have a problem with you guys whatsoever and I appreciate you putting it together, but headlining it “The Inner Circle Presents The BTB Newsletter” was always going to provoke a reaction out of everyone else after what happened last week. People did indeed overreact to an innocent mention of the IC, and that’s why I warned them that they would be dealt with spamming up the discussion thread if there was another reference to it or any bitching about it.
You guys aren’t naive, far from it in fact, but there was no reason why you had to say The Inner Circle was presenting the newsletter. Had the IC angle of it been removed, I don’t believe there would been any negative reaction at all as the interview and Hall of Fame spotlight were fine. The headline and banner were the real problems, and I think you have to take responsibility this time for inciting the reaction instead of complaining about it. The more you promote The Inner Circle, and there was a lot of it at the end, it stops becoming a joke and becomes very tiresome and annoying to everyone that sees it.
The BTB community has been getting on very well until the Inner Circle references came back a week or so ago, and those references along have caused these reactions that you protest about. It was an innocent mention last week which sparked a very immature reaction from some members, but it died down with the warnings placed by myself and KOP. There were some over the top reactions here too, but this needless and repetitive “IC” joke did overshadow the newsletter somewhat, and that is why things got out of hand this time round. It needs to stop now before a divide does form, because quite frankly, there wasn’t one before until this “joke” came in to play.
