Pro Wrestling Evolution

PWE is a new company owned by ‘The Franchise’ Shane Douglas. Douglas, real name Troy Martin, saw a gap in the market and decided that it needed exploiting and he has hit the scene hard with a promise of a new era of wrestling. After the success of the Hardcore Homecoming events, Douglas has decided to venture out into running a full time indy promotion. Douglas knew attaining a full-time roster would be extremely difficult, so instead he decided to book workers to short term contracts, and have them work a schedule before returning to their home promotion. This system has its obvious advantage, but it also rules out using current WWE or TNA stars. However, the company still has access to the top indy stars as well as some Japanese workers.

The company does currently not have a TV Deal, instead PWE performs events all across America, while relying on the internet and dirt sheets for exposure. The company runs regular two hour shows but there is no time between them set in stone. The first show will be held in the Hammerstein Ballroom which is seen as the spiritual home of Pro Wrestling Evolution.

The company has two titles. The main strap is the PWE World Championship, the title belt which holds the most prestige. It is for predominantly main eventers. There is also the PWE Trios Championships, which is, as the name says, competed for in Trios matches, better know as 6-Man matches. There is no Tag Belts as of now. All the titles are currently vacant but will be decided on the first show in the New York Hammerstein. If a champion comes from a different company, he is eligible to win or lose a belt.

The company does not really have a particular style, although the current booker Gianni Interjestakostas is said to be a big fan of extreme rules matches. Owner Douglas has also promised lucha libre, strong style and technical wrestling though. Everybody involved is said to be very excited and is looking forward to getting the project running.
