I agree, and I think Nige's Royal Rumble was a very good show as well. jbloser's Royal Rumble in his 2005 thread was another stand-out PPV.

Well I'm in the stages of planning a BTB and the first PPV is the Royal Rumble. I was wondering how would i got about planning the Rumble?

First get a plan out. A basic foundation like the 30 guys and the order of entrants will be a good place to start. Any special interactions like a sneak attack and get a basic plan on how the stories will progress on to 'Mania if you want to build them up the Rumble is the place to do it. Reading the aforementioned Rumbles will also help.

Read DDMac and Nature Boy's (especially his Summerslam) recapped PPV's.

Wolf Beast's recapped PPVs are pretty good ... but they also have a lot more match description than Mac's and NB's.

Well to answer the question concerning the Rumble PPV, basically figure out what two wrestlers you think would be best to start the match out. From there, try to incorporate some big names with midcarders through the first fifteen. From there, add some comedy or some surprises. As you get to the final eight remaining, begin to establish a possible winner in the match. When you reach the final four, you should be able to start working on the finish. I've written two full Rumble matches in my BTB, and will say that it is the one match where you MUST plan out before writing, or you might have a problem when writing the match.

As far as recapped PPVs go, as many have mentioned try reading DDMac's, NB, and Wolfy's recapped PPVs.
