WWE Monday Night RAW PREVIEW FOR March 31st 2008

Last night at Wrestlemania, Randy Orton shockingly retained his WWE Championship in a Triple Threat Match over Triple H and John Cena. What will Randy Orton have to say about his victory at Wrestlemania, but Orton's victory celebration will be short lived, as in the main event, Orton will find out who he will defend his WWE Championship against at Backlash. Shawn Michaels, Triple H and John Cena will do battle in a Triple Threat Match, where the winner will face Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Backlash.

At Wrestlemania, both Chris Jericho and Mr. Kennedy came up short in their bid to be called "Mr. Money in the Bank." Tonight, these two men will do battle for the Intercontinental Championship, as Chris Jericho will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Mr. Kennedy.

Also tonight on RAW, John "Bradshaw" Layfield is expected to make a "Huge Announcement" regarding his wrestling future. Find out what it is on RAW.

ALL THIS AND MORE ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW!

Confirmed for RAW tonight:
- Randy Orton victory address
- Intercontinental Championship- (C) Chris Jericho Vs. Mr. Kennedy
JBL makes a Huge Announcement
John Cena Vs. Shawn Michaels Vs. Triple H, winner is #1 Contender for the WWE Championship.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
RAW should be posted within the first couple of hours. This won't be my best work, as this is my first show I have written in about four months. It is in recap form.

WWE Monday Night RAW
March 31st 2008
Orlando Florida

The show opens in grand style, as we get a very nice pyro display. We then go to Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler, who welcome us to Raw. They mention that tonight, we will have a triple threat match between Triple H, John Cena and Shawn Michaels. The winner will face Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Backlash. Also announced is that Chris Jericho will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Mr. Kennedy.

We hear the familiar music of Randy Orton fill the arena. The WWE Champion comes out to a good amount of heat from the crowd. He asks the crowd if they suspected that he would walk out of Wrestlemania 24 still the WWE Champion. He answered for them, which was no! He said that no matter who he faces tonight, he will go on to Backlash and defeat them and continue the Age of Orton! We then hear the music of Shawn Michaels, who comes out to a HUGE pop from the crowd even though he retired Ric Flair last night. He told Orton that he and Orton still have some unfinished business from a couple of months ago. Orton asked Michaels how many times does he have to beat him before he gets his point across. We then heard the music of Triple H. He also came out to a good pop, but not as big as Michaels’ He told Orton that after he wins the Triple Threat Match tonight, he is going to Backlash and take back his WWE Championship and become WWE Champion for the 12th time in his career. Before Orton could say anything to Triple H, we heard the music of John Cena. Cena came out to the usual mixed reaction he gets from crowds. Cena told Orton that he never beat him in a one on one match and that Backlash will be no different. Orton told Cena that he could beat him on his worst day. This lead to Cena challenging Orton to a fight. Before anything came of this, RAW General Manager William Regal came out. He told Cena that he would not be fighting Orton tonight, and that he better focus on his Triple Threat Match tonight against Triple H and Shawn Michaels. He told Orton that he is going to fight tonight. Regal told Orton that he will face Finlay tonight in a Belfast Brawl. Regal mentioned that Finlay is not in a good mood after last night. Orton yelled at Regal, telling him that it was unfair, but Regal walked back to the back. Triple H then mouthed to Orton” Your Fucked.” Orton stood in the ring looking really pissed off as we went to a commercial.

Our first match of the night is a contest for the Intercontinental Championship. The champion Chris Jericho defended his title against Mr. Kennedy. The match was pretty slow paced for the first couple of minutes, as both men were selling their injuries from the Money in the Bank ladder match last night. Kennedy had most of the offense in the match after Jericho missed a dive to the outside of the ring. Jericho made a comeback, hitting Kennedy with many of his signature moves. Jericho hit the Codebreaker on Kennedy. He pinned him, but Kennedy got his foot on the rope at two and a half. While Jericho was arguring with referee Chad Patton, Kennedy came up from behind Jericho and nailed him with the Mic Check. Kennedy then rolled Jericho over and got the three count. Kennedy celebrated with the title, as Jericho walked up the ramp, and looked back at the ring in disgust as we go to a commercial.

When we came back from the break, we see Chris Jericho messing up the backstage area (throwing down water coolers, breaking stuff.) He eventually walks into Smackdown assistant General Manager Theodore Long. Jericho asks Long what he wants. Long cut to the chase and told Jericho that they are offering Jericho a seven figure salary to come over to Smackdown. Jericho tells Long that he is going to think about it.

Our second contest of the night was between the Tag Team Champions Hardocre Holly and Cody Rhodes and the team of Carlito and Santino Merrela. This was a non-title match. This was just a match to get the Tag Team Champions on RAW, since they are not doing anything. Holly and Rhodes picked up the victory after Holly pinned Merrela after The Alabama Slam. Holly and Rhodes celebrated the victory as we went to a commercial break.

When we come back from the commercial break, we see Finlay getting ready for the Belfast Brawl that he has tonight against Randy Orton. While he is preparing, William Regal walks into his locker room. He tells Finlay that tonight, Hornswoggle cannot be at ringside. When Finlay asks Regal why, Regal tells him that he wants a fair match and no stupid antics at ringside.

We then go back to the arena, and we hear the music of John “Bradshaw” Layfield fill the arena. JBL comes out to a HUGE amount of heat. He brags about how he beat Finlay at Wrestlemania at his own game. He then tells the fans that he has the unfortunate duty to tell them that tonight is going to be his last night of Monday Night Raw. JBL says that he feels that he is too good for RAW, and that he is going back to Smackdown where he was the longest reigning World Champion in the brands history. He adds that the competition on RAW is inferior and that he needs better competition, which he knows he will get on Smackdown. This brings out General Manager William Regal. He tells JBL that since he thinks the competition on RAW is so inferior, he wouldn’t mind having one last match on RAW. JBL agrees to it, and says that he is a wrestling god and will accept any challenge. Regal then tells JBL that he will be facing…THE BIG SHOW!! We hear the music of The Big Show, and he comes out to a good pop from the crowd even though he lost to Floyd Mayweather last night. JBL immediately flees the ring in fear. Regal then tells JBL to get ready, because the match is next!

When we get back from the commercial break, The Big Show Vs. JBL match begins. JBL acts like he is afraid of The Big Show, and every time Show gets close to him, he flees the ring. Show eventually grabs JBL by his head on one of his escape attempts. Show brings JBL into the ring and headbutts JBL. Show then grabs JBL by the throat. JBL elbows Show in the face and escapes the hold. JBL then goes for the Clothesline from Hell, but Show moves. JBL then turns around, and Show grabs him by the throat. Show picks JBL and Chokeslams him to the mat. Show covers JBL for the three count. Show celebrated his victory as we went to a commercial.

When we come back from the break, we see Randy Orton walking to the ring with the WWE Title around his shoulder. We then go to Finlay’s locker room, where he is telling Hornswoogle that he has to stay in the locker room.

Our next match is the Belfast Brawl between WWE Champion Randy Orton and Finlay. This is a Non-Title match. This was a very violent match, that saw the inclusion of Kendo Sticks, Tables, Steel Steps and Steel Chairs. Both men ended up bleeding in the match. Finlay got busted open when Orton nailed him with a chair to the face. Orton got busted when Finlay threw Orton into the steel ring post. The end of the match came when Finlay tried to superplex Orton threw a table, but Orton fought out of it. Orton then RKO’ed Finlay from the top rope threw the table. Orton then put a arm over Finlay’s body for the three count. After the match, Orton picked up Finlay, and RKO’ed him on Steel Steps. This got Orton a whole lot of heat. Orton stared at his handy work for a couple of seconds, and then left the ring to a lot of heat as we went to a commercial.

When we came back from the break, we see the EMT’s putting Finlay on a stretcher. While, this is happening, Randy Orton comes back down to the ring. In the ring, Hornswoggle is right next to Finlay. Orton comes into the ring and kicks Hornswoggle in the head. This gets Orton extreme heat, as the crowd loves Hornswoggle. Orton then walks out of the ring with a sick smile on his face to a lot of heat.

We then go to the backstage area, where Maria is interviewing potential number one contender for the WWE Championship Triple H. She asks Triple H on his thoughts on potentially getting another WWE Championship match at Backlash. Triple H tells Maria that if he gets another WWE Title shot, he guarantees that he will walk out the WWE Champion.

Our fifth match of the night was the debut of Paul Burchill. His opponent is one half of the Highlanders Robbie Mcallister. This was a very short match that barely got to the two minute mark. Burchill looked very impressive in his debut. Burchill picked up the victory over Robbie after the C-4 after about two minutes.

After the match, we went backstage to where Raw General Manager William Regal was watching. Vince McMahon then walked into his office. He told Regal that starting next week on RAW, we will start the KING OF THE RING tournament, with the finals being held at Backlash. Regal nodded his head in approval of the idea.

The final match of the night was a Triple Threat match to determine the Number 1 contender for the WWE Championship at Backlash. It was between John Cena, Triple H and Shawn Michaels. This was a very good main event. This match went on for damn near twenty minutes. This match also had a lot of false finishes, with Michaels kicking out of the F-U and Cena kicking out of the Sweet Chin Music. The end came when Michaels got himself out of a Pedigree, and Superkicked Triple H, knocking him out of the ring. Michaels then immediately turned around and Cena picked him up and nailed him with the F-U! Cena immediately covered HBK and hooked the leg for the three count. After the match, Randy Orton came out and stood on the entrance ramp. Him and Cena had a staredown. Orton held his WWE Championship up high as Cena stared at it, telling Orton that he is going to take the WWE Championship.

END OF SHOW

RAW Review
Ok, I like how you opened the show on all three main event men and the WWE Champion to hype up the main event for the night, that was a good idea. The IC Title match was also a good idea because Jericho is a bit too much in the older area for the IC title. It should be bulit up on up and coming or younger stars. Ken Kennedy is a perfect example and that was a smart move. I loved how T.Long offered Jericho a seven figure contract as it brings the brand wars back again. Good job on that too. The Tag Team Title Match just seemed like it was a filler for the titles to get on the show. I'd put them in a heated feud to put more credibilty on the belts rather then just have them defend it every week for no reason like the WWE did. Big Show vs JBL would be a stinker in real life but this looks like it was quick to put Show over, which WWE has failed to do since Mayweather faced him at WM. I like that too. I liked the Orton and Finlay match but it seems weird that you'd have the same stipulation in a match that was used at Wrestlemania. None the less, I loved Orton punting Hornwoggle, good idea haha. KOTR? Fuck yeah. Good plans with that and I hope it works out. Burchill was your typical debut, not much to say about that other then start making him face more credible guys in a bit so he doesn't get stale. Good idea having him use the C-4 Though! Now the main event. It seemed like a very good match and I'm not a Cena hater but I think the fans would groan at seeing Orton vs Cena again after seeing it alot in mid/late 2007 and then at NWO and then a verison of it at WM24. But hey, They were good bouts so i'm looking forward to this one.

Good results 7/10

I'll be looking forward to Smackdown

WWE Friday Night Smackdown
April 4th 2008
Miami Florida

Smackdown opens up with a very good pyro display. We then go over to the announce table, to where Michael Cole and Johnathan Coachmen welcome us to the first Smackdown after Wrestlemania. Michael Cole announced that tonight on Smackdown, It will be Edge taking on Batista in a match where the winner will face Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Title at Backlash.

We then hear the music of The Rated R Superstar Edge. The former World Heavyweight Champion comes out to a good amount of heat from the crowd. He gets on the microphone and immediately denounces Undertaker’s victory at Wrestlemania, calling it a fluke and that at Backlash he will get his World Heavyweight Title back. This brings out Batista. He tells Edge that he will not get the chance to get his World Heavyweight Title back because he is going to beat him tonight and win the World Heavyweight Title at Backlash. Edge tells Batista that he has beat him before and that he will do it again tonight. Edge then goes to punch Batista, but Batista ducked. Batista then nailed Edge with a Spinebuster. Edge then rolled out of the ring and shouted at Batista that he is going to regret doing that.

Our first match of the night was a non-title match between United States Champion MVP and Jamie Noble. This was pretty much a squash match. Noble got a few punches in on MVP and a dropkick, but that was it offense wise for Noble. MVP picked up the victory after hitting the Playmaker. After the match, Matt Hardy ran into the ring, and kicked MVP in the gut. Hardy then delivered a Twist of Fate to MVP. Hardy then picked up the United States Championship and stared at it. He then laid it over MVP. Hardy then signaled that he will be holding the United States Title very soon.

When we come back from the break, MVP burst into Vickie Guerrero’s office. He complained that Matt Hardy had no right to attack him tonight. He also said that he wants revenge on Matt Hardy for costing him the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at Wrestlemania. Vickie Guerrero then told MVP that he will have his chance at revenge at Backlash, but the United States Championship will be on the line.
