Smackdown! (5/23/08)

Rise Up hits and the opening video plays followed by tons of some great pyro. We jet across the arena to see all the screaming fans holding their signs up high. Cole and Mick welcome us to Smackdown! And run down the card for tonight. Edge vs. Undertaker, Matt Hardy and CM Punk vs. MVP and Chuck Palumbo have been announced for tonight…..

Sexy Boy hits and the crowd goes crazy for RAW’s Shawn Michaels. Everybody is shocked but happy. He comes down in wrestling attire with a mic in his hand. After the crowd quiets down Michaels begins to speak. He says that at Judgment Day he beat Chris Jericho…but not the way he wanted too. The win by DQ was not the kind he wanted, and he wasn’t happy about Batista interfering. He says that after Batista attacked him at Judgment Day he figured Batista could put this rivalry behind him. Then, when Batista attacked him on RAW, a new fire was lit inside of him. He says that if Batista cant put it behind him, then he’s gonna wrestle him again if he has too, no fake injuries. Michaels is about to go on a little bit more, but I Walk Alone hits and Batista comes down the ramp. Batista also has a mic and he gets into Michaels’ face. Batista says Michaels is just a lying scared little bitch. He says that growing up people look up to Michaels, and he let down all his fans we had to fake an injury instead of fight with honor like a normal man. Michaels says this time it will be different. He challenges Batista to a match at Vengeance. Before Batista can tell Shawn his decision Vickie Guerrero comes out onto the ramp. Vickie looks angry. She tells HBK to go back to RAW, the B show. She says Shawn cant compete with the Smackdown! Superstars. She also calls Batista a disgrace and tells him to go with Shawn. Teddy Long then comes out onto the ramp right next to Vickie. Vickie asks him why he is out there because he quit. Teddy says that he got a message from the board. The message is that tonight Batista and Shawn Michaels would be in tag team action going up against……..Edge’s lackies, Zack Ryder and Kurt Hawkins! Vickie tries to argue the decision but Teddy shakes his head. Michaels and Batista get face to face…

Commercial……

The first match of the night is the tag team match putting Matt Hardy and CM Punk against MVP and Chuck Palumbo. This was a good opening contest and did what it was supposed too, entertain the crowd. Palumbo did not get much time in the match as he is not so over with the crowd, but the other three got a good amount. The end saw MVP and CM Punk in the ring. MVP was winning the battle and had Punk in position for the playmaker. Punk was able to reverse his way out of it just in time. MVP ran back to Punk, but CM ducked slightly and put MVP on his shoulders, hitting the GTS and covering for the win.

Cole and Foley talk about the match a little. After that a Rey Mysterio return video airs, with no clear indication when it will happen. We then head backstage to Eve at the interview hall. Her guest is Chavo Guerrero. Even before Eve can ask the question, Chavo begins ranting and complaining. He says that it was Kane’s fault ECW closed. He says that Kane should never have been aloud to win the title. Chavo calls Kane a disgrace to the business. Chavo says that if he got one more chance at Kane he would beat him easily. Just then Finlay walks up to Chavo. Finlay says that he’s faced Kane many times before, so he knows Kane is not a disgrace. Chavo says that Finlay wouldn’t know because Finlay is even worse. Finlay challenges Chavo to a match. Chavo accepts and on the bottom of the screen we see its up next.

Commercial……

When we return we head straight to our second match of the night. This match was shorter than opener by about five minutes. The match comes to and end eight or nine minutes in. Finlay still plays the face roll and shows no signs of turning heel. No Hornswoggle in this match. In the end we see Chavo hit and enziugiri taking down Finlay. Chavo heads up to the top rope. He leaps going for the frog splash, but Finlay rolls over and dodges it. Finlay gets up to his feet and lifts up Chavo on his shoulders. He’s about to hit the Celtic cross, but Chavo rolls down his back and rolls him up for the win.

Finlay cant believe it…neither can Chavo. He hops up to his feet and smiles before getting his arm raised.

We cut to the back to see MVP icing the back of his head. CM Punk walks up to him. Punk tires to show his good sportsmanship by saying MVP put up a good fight, but just couldn’t finish. MVP tells him to shut up. He says he doesn’t need someone he is better than to tell him he put on a good match. He says that even though he lost to Punk, he’s going to get the US championship back in no time. Punk begs to differ. Punk says that being Mr. money in the bank is great, but he wants a championship to go along with it. MVP says it wont happen because you need skill to be the champion. Punk asks if MVP is challenging him but MVP doesn’t answer back. Vickie walks up to the two men. She says that either one of them can be number one contenders. She announces that next week on Smackdown! MVP will take on CM Punk in a number one contenders match.

We then cut to Edge, Hawkins, and Ryder sitting on a couch. Hawkins and Ryder have their heads buried in their hands. Edge tries to pump them up. He says that Batista and Shawn Michaels are both people he has beaten in the past. He says he went over them with ease, and since Hawkins and Ryder were trained by Edge, it should be easy. Edge then says that after tonight he will be the world champion, and with a win over two big superstars Hawkins and Ryder will be the next tag team champions. Edge says that the three of them will be the biggest Smackdown! Superstars ever, and will hold all the titles.

A quick promo for Vengeance airs and we head back to the ring. Cole and Tazz announce that a Judgment Day rematch is going to place right now.

The third match of the night is a rematch from Sunday. Mark Henry takes on the Big Show. The match at Judgment Day was sloppy and with Mark Henry, this was not too different. This match got about the same amount of time as Finlay and Chavo’s, six or seven minutes. This match had a pretty good ending though. Big Show lifted up Henry for the chokeslam, but Henry grabbed a hold on Show and locked in a bear hug. Big Show was fading quickly and most people figured Henry was going to win this one. Then, in the last seconds, Big Show grabs Henry around the neck and forces his way out of the hold. He lifts up Henry and plants him with the chokeslam. Show covered to get the win.

Commercial……..

When we return Joey Styles is standing by with HBK to conduct an interview. Styles asks Michaels about the challenge made earlier in the night. Michaels says that he didn’t want to go down as the guy who beat Batista for faking an injury, because he knows he can beat Batista anytime. He then says that he didn’t get an answer from the animal, but would like one before the end of the night. Shawn talks a little more and caps of the interview by saying even if Batista says no to the challenge, Shawn will not rest until he gets in the ring with him one more time.

After that interview, the Edgeheads make their entrances, followed by Shawn and Batista. This was a great match. This one got some time, about 12-14 minutes. Anytime HBK and Batista seemingly got a slight edge, the edgeheads would cheat their way back into control. The ending of this match was pretty good. Batista and Ryder in the ring. Ryder runs at Batista thinking clothesline, but Batista lifts him up and hits a spinebuster the crowd go wild and get pumped, as does Batista. Behind him, Michaels enters the ring. Ryder gets to his feet, but Batista senses Michaels. He turns around and Michaels goes for sweet chin music! Batista ducks and Michaels hits Ryder. Batista doesn’t know who Shawn was aiming at, but he doesn’t really care. He covers Ryder and gets the three count.

Before Batista and HBK can get their arms raised, Michaels asks for a mic. He grabs it and asks Batista if he will accept the challenge. Batista takes the mic and reluctantly says yes. Michaels smiles and nods his head…then out of nowhere hits SWEET CHIN MUSIC! Batista goes down and Michaels paces around the ring.

Commercial…..

When we return Foley and Cole hype up the main event. Their video package promo that was used for Judgment Day airs. After that they show the highlights from the match at Judgment Day.

Both Undertaker and Edge make big entrances for this world title match. The match lasts about fifteen minutes, and is another good match put on between these two. We pick up with Edge whipping Undertaker into the corner. Edge runs at him, leaps up, and dropkicks his chest. Undertaker falls down into a sitting position. Edge runs at him and slams his knee right into Undertaker’s face. Edge pulls Undertaker into the middle of the ring and covers….but Taker kicks out! Undertaker sits up scaring Edge. Undertaker rises to his feet and walks toward Edge. Undertaker runs at Edge and goes for a clothesline, but Edge ducks. Undertaker goes flying off the ropes and comes back at Edge. He grabs Edge around the throat. The crowd cheers as Undertaker is about to lift up Edge. Edge kicks Undertaker in the gut, and Taker lets go. Edge reverses into the impaler DDT! Edge thinks he’s got it and he cockily covers….but Taker kicks out again. Edge is furious. He lifts Undertaker up mocking him by trying to hit a tombstone….Undertaker reverses into a tombstone of his own! He hits it and covers and gets the win.

Undertaker receives his belt from the referee and does his signature pose right next to Edge’s body. The crowd goes crazy and Michael Cole and Foley hype this match on commentary. Undertaker begins walking up the ramp. The final shot of this broadcast is Undertaker standing at the stage lifting one arm up to the sound of cheers and thunder.

RAW Preview

Every champion is only a complete champion if he or she has a contender. As of right now, there is no clear number one contender for the WWE championship. Triple H is coming off a big win against Randy Orton and as usual, Randy Orton is not happy. Orton personally announced on WWE.com that he would be throwing his name back into the hat to recieve another title shot. There is however, a problem with that. Many others on the roster such as JBL, Mr. Kennedy, and John Cena, are all looking for their own chance at the WWE championship. Chairman of the WWE- Vince McMahon- has said that after RAW there will certainly be a contender for the WWE championship....but who....and how?

Last week on RAW, Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy were having a small discussion on the Intercontinental title. At that time, GM William Regal came over to both men and made a match that's big enough to main event a pay per view event. Monday on RAW, Jeff Hardy will team up with Chris Jericho to take on Batista and Shawn Michaels. All four men have held championship gold, three have been world champions, and three have main evented Wrestlemania. Sounds big, right? Well Chris Jericho promised the world that on Monday he will announce something that will surely spice up the match.

Last Thursday on WWE.com (seen first by the holders of WWE mobile) Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly were forced to vacate their titles due to Cody's injury. Monday on RAW, we start our tag team tournament to find the two teams that will meet for the titles at Vengeance. The first match of the tourny will be between Cryme Tyme and the Highlanders. Which team will punch their ticket to Dallas?

Love JBL in i am eveything everyone is nothing mode....shits on everyone else while self promoting himself even craps on Orton his partner....matches have been set up nicely between HHH/JBL and ORton and Kennedy....hope Kennedy and JBL come out on top as i love their mic skills....

Michaesl feigning injury as usual but came out with win at ppv leads to match with Jericho and Batista interjects himself unofficialy and we have dq...bit unoriginal for 2 dqs but what the hell your the boss lol .....hoepefully Hardy takes the belt as its holding Jericho back...he doesnt need it...

nice little filler match and the momentum with mickie james and cant say much fairer than that really ...should have had a end of match beatdown by beth though...beth rocks

…To Be Loved hits and the RAW opening video plays. After that we cut across the arena seeing all the screaming fans holding their hands up high as the pyro shoots up into the sky.

JR: Ladies and gentlemen! Hello and welcome to another edition of Monday night RAW, here in the Conseco field house in Indianapolis. It’s our first time here this year, and we’re bringing a good show.

King: That’s right JR, we don’t too much but we do know that Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho will team up to face Shawn Michaels and Batista. After Friday, I don’t think Batista wants anything to do with Shawn.

JR: Also, as announced on WWE.com John Cena will open the show.

The Time Is Now hits and the crowd mainly cheers for John Cena as he comes out onto the ramp. He does a quick entrance, grabs a mic, and slides into the ring.

Cena: Yo, yo, yo Indianapolis, what up?

Cheap pop

Cena: I gotta admit…every time we come here, we get a great crowd.

Another cheap pop

Cena: After all, Indianapolis is the city of champions. The Colts won the super bowl just two years ago, after beating my Pats in the AFC championship game.

Loudest pop so far, nobody likes the Patriots, they are as cool as aids.

Cena: But that’s all in the past. The champion in this city right now…is Triple H.

Pop

Cena: And every good champion has a line of hungry contenders behind them. As we saw last week, there are 3 men on HHH’s back. JBL, Randy Orton, and Mr. Kennedy.

Heat at JBL, but a rather positive reaction for the other two.

Cena: But, ladies and gentlemen…there is a fourth man. A man that would have announced his determination to be the champion again if he wasn’t put in a loser leaves RAW match. That man is me.

Pop

Cena: Last week William Regal wanted some sort of revenge on me. And so it was all planned. I would face Umaga, get my ass kicked, and stop working Monday nights. However there was one thing Mr. Regal forgot. He forgot that I have a drive…a determination….a will to be champion, more than anybody in this business. I’ve beaten Umaga before and I damn sure beat him last week.

Pop

Cena: And Regal…well he paid the price for interfering…I don’t think he has a choice but to add me to the mix.

Voices hits and the crowd gives off a mixed reaction for the legend killer, Randy Orton. He comes down the ramp with a mic in his hand and gets into the ring.

Orton: Ya know John…I find it funny. I find it funny that you come out here and try to put yourself in the same league as me. I was the man who injured you. I was the man who won the title that you called your own, and I held it for six months. I beat Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, and Jeff Hardy. Obvio-

Cena: Oh, yes Randy, yes. That is correct. You beat the heartbreak kid…well so have I. you beat Y2J…so have I. but Randy let me ask you this…when was the last time you beat me?

Pop

Cena: I risked my career by coming back. But I came back to win the title and I’m gonna do just that.

Longhorn hits breaking up the tension between Orton and Cena. He walks to the ring slowly with a mic in hand.

JBL: How about both of you shut your mouths. To tell the truth, I don’t why either of you are out here. Randy…you’re out here bragging about holding the title for 6 months? I am Smackdown’s longest reigning champion!

Heat

JBL: As for you Cena……you need to understand that I am the WRESTLINGAAH…GAWD! I haven’t been champion in three years so ,Cena….my time is now.

Turn up the Trouble hits to another loud pop. Kennedy comes down to the ring with a mic in hand. He looks at JBL, then Orton, then Cena, and all three look annoyed.

Kennedy: JBL that was a nice little rant you put on there, but uh…well the next WWE champion isn’t gonna be you….or you…(points to Orton) defiantly not you!

Kennedy: Its gonna be Mrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Kennedyyyyyyy………Kennedyyyyyyy.

Macmillitant hits and Teddy Long walks out onto the ramp.

Teddy: Gentlemen, gentlemen calm down. Now I know you’re probably thinking, “what’s Teddy doing here?” Well I’ve become the boards official representative. And Cena, after your little attack on William Regal last week, he cant make it to RAW. And as long as he can’t be here, I am the interim GM.

Teddy: Now it seems we have a small number one contender problem, isn’t that right playas? Well I’ll tell ya what. We can handle this the old fashioned way…with a wrestling match. Tonight’s main event is a fatal four way match between John Cena-

Teddy: And Mr. Kennedy!

Teddy: But this match needs a special referee…and as far as I know Triple H isn’t doing anything tonight…so he’s gonna be the ref playas, good luck.

Pop from the crowd and all four competitors look at each other, not knowing what will happen later.

JR: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Monday Night RAW. If you were with us last week you might have seen the tag team match in which Cody Rhodes was involved. It turns out Cody has pulled his left pectoral muscle. This injury has plagued superstars like Edge and John Cena and will keep him on the shelf for a number of months. This means that Cody and Hardcore Holly have officially relinquished the tag team titles.

King: That’s right, and it seems that there is going to be a four team tournament, with the finals taking place at Vengeance.

Bringing the hood to you hits and Cryme Tyme comes down the ramp. They have never held tag gold and this could propel them right to Vengeance.

Highland hits and the Highlanders come down the ramp to heat from the crowd. They get into the ring and the match begins.

This was a quick match, about five minutes passed. JTG and Rory in the ring. Rory whips JTG off the ropes. JTG comes back at him, leaps over him and goes for a sunsets flip pin……but Rory kicks out. Both men get up to their feet. JTG whips Rory into the corner. JTG runs at him, leaps up, and hits a knee lift right to the face. JTG walks over and tags in Shad. Shad grabs Rory and lifts him and hits a scoop slam. Rory gets up rather quickly. Shad runs back off the rope. He comes at Rory and hits a shoulder block. Rory gets up quick once more and Shad does the same thing again. Shad coves Rory but Rory kicks out once more. Shad lifts Rory to his knees. Rory then low blows Shad! He tags in Robbie. Robbie lifts Shad to his feet. He double underhooks him and tries to go for a powerbomb, but Shad reverses into a back body drop. Robbie lands on his back and gets up with his back to Shad. He turns and Shad runs at him and hits a big boot to the face. Shad covers….and gets the win!

Winners: Cryme Tyme

Cryme Tyme celebrates in the ring and their ticket for Vengeance has just been punched. They say “money, money” as they walk up the ramp.

We head backstage to see Triple H sitting by a TV, watching RAW backstage. Then Randy Orton walks up to him…

Randy: I can assume you heard about the match tonight.

Triple H stares right in Orton’s eyes.

Randy: Now, I know me and you…we don’t really get along. We have a terrible past going all the way back to 2004 when you became jealous of my world title win. Since then nothing has really changed. We still hate each other and we do everything we can to sabotage each others careers. But listen to me…I swear that if I find one bit of your reffing tonight unfair, I’ll-

Triple H: Tell me Randy, what are you gonna do? You gonna RKO me again? Because I think we both know that wont change anything. I have proof that you’re little sneak attacks don’t work…that proof is right here on my shoulder.

Triple H pats hits title belt…

Orton: Listen to me. If I lose tonight…you better sleep every night with fear and with one eye open…because one loss is not going to keep me out of the hunt. I will get my title back, no matter what it takes…so go ahead, cheat me! You’re gonna find out what happens first hand. You’re gonna find out why we are STILL in the era of Orton.

Triple H: I have no intention to cheat you out of a win tonight…I’m calling it right down the middle…you’re gonna lose for the same reason you lose every other match. Because you suck. So go out there and try wrestle your heart out…it wont matter. You’re never beating me for MY WWE championship.

Triple H walks away and we cut to another room, this time both Y2J and Jeff Hardy are in the room. Jeff is hopping around all pumped up, while Jericho is sitting down lacing his boots.

Jericho: Good to see you’re ready.

Jeff: Yeah…well it’s a big match man, but I just want to let you know one thing. The goal I made when I returned to WWE was to win back my intercontinental championship. I’m not gonna lie to you and tell you that this match is the only thing on my mind. I want my chance at the title dude.

Jericho: Well let me tell you that our match coming up next is a huge match for me…for both of us. I want revenge on the man I lost to at Judgment Day, and I want revenge on the man that caused that to happen. Tonight I wanna destroy Shawn Michaels and Batista, but as good as I am, I can’t do it alone. You need to get one hundred percent focused on what’s happening right now, and I think I can help you with that.

Jeff looks interested.

Jericho: You want this title back? Ok, fine. You have your match…on one condition. We win tonight. All you have to do is help me beat those two, and I will gladly lace up my boots at Vengeance to face you.

Jericho extends his hand and Jeff shakes it. Jeff then runs off toward the entrance, leaving Jericho behind with an evil smirk on his face.

No More Words hits and the crowd gives off the biggest pop of the night for the rainbow haired warrior, Jeff Hardy. He gets into the ring and waits for Jericho.

5…4…3…2…1

Break the Wall Down hits and the intercontinental champion, Chris Jericho, comes walking slowly down the ramp. He eventually gets into the ring and hands the belt to the ref.

I Walk Alone hits and the animal, Batista, comes walking down the ramp. He does his usual pyro and gets a big pop. He gets into the ring and keeps his eyes on both other men.

Sexy Boy hits and Michaels comes down the ramp to a huge pop. He does his usual entrance as well. He gets into the ring and stares down Batista. The four men sort out who’s starting and the match begins.

This match gets some time, about fifteen minutes. Jericho and Michaels in the ring now. Michaels whips Jericho off the ropes. Jericho comes back to him and HBK ducks, but a little too soon. Jericho kicks him in the shoulder and drives HBK’s head into his knee. Shawn stands up in an upright position and Jericho chops him right across the chest. Michaels fight back with a chop of his own. Jericho rakes the eyes of Michaels. Michaels turns away and Jericho grabs the back of his head. He goes for the bulldog, but Shawn won’t let it happen. Jericho runs off the ropes and comes back to Shawn. Both men go for a clothesline, and both hit! Both men crawl to their respective partners. Inches away, Jericho reaches out and just tags in Hardy. HBK makes a dive and tags in Batista. Both men storm into the ring. Jeff runs to Batista, and Batista clotheslines him down. Hardy gets up quick though. Jeff runs back at Batista. Batista scoops him up and hits a scoop slam. Batista doesn’t see Michaels stand up behind him. Batista turns around and Michaels plants him with sweet chin music! Batista falls to the mat and HBK leaves the ring. Jeff begins to stand up. He gets to his feet and walks toward the turnbuckle, with Jericho cheering him on. Jeff climbs and stands up high about to jump….but Jericho pushes him down from behind! Hardy falls down on his head and Jericho climbs into the ring. He grabs Batista and drags his arm over Hardy’s. The ref counts the 3 and the match is over.

Winners: Shawn Michaels and Batista

I Walk Alone plays as Jericho stands over the two men. He gets his title from the ref and bends down to Jeff. He smiles and mouths, “not getting your chance” before leaving the ring.

When we return we are taken right to Maria standing backstage ready to interview.

Maria: Ladies and gentlemen, I am now being joined by the three time WWE champion, John Cena!

Pop

Maria: John, tonight you inserted yourself into a championship hunt, and now you have a fatal four way match to determine if you will face Triple H at Vengeance. Do you think you can beat the other three?

Cena: Well Maria, I do think I can beat them. After all its not like I’ve never done it before. Remember Wrestlemania 21? I fought JBL for the WWE championship and I beat him. Remember Summerslam? I beat Randy Orton and did the same at No Way Out. As for Kennedy…I beat him with a torn pectoral muscle. Beating the 3 of them shouldn’t be too hard. But I know I have a huge target on my back because I have problems will all four other men that will be in that ring. I plan on going out there and do what I always do. Prove to the world that I deserve to be the champion again.

Pop

John: But, Maria, there is one man who wants to hold me back. He wants to make my life hell and he almost succeeded. That man is the GM of RAW, William Regal. See, last week he tried to get rid of me, but he couldn’t do the job. I know Regal, I’ve seen the stuff he used to pull, so I know he isn’t done. He isn’t gonna rest until I’m gone. Even if I win tonight, he has the power to take away my win and reverse the decision. I know he isn’t here tonight, but I just want him to know that I will fight back. If he wants some…he can come get some.

Crowd cheers as Cena walks away from Maria. We then cut back to the ring where Lillian announces that the following match is a number one contendors match with the winner receiving a women’s title match at Vengeance.

Phoenix Rising hits and Beth comes down the ramp to heat from the crowd.

Paparazzi hits and Melina comes down the ramp getting a mixed reaction, with more cheers than jeers.

This was your typical divas match, hardly getting anytime. Only about four minutes. Beth has been dominating the whole match. She has a sleeper hold locked in on Melina. The crowd figures this is the end. Melina slowly elbows her way out of it. Melina kicks Beth in the gut and goes for the bulldog, but Beth reverses and slams Melina down to the mat. Beth covers but Melina is able to kick out. Both women get up. Beth lifts up Melina and goes for the fisherman’s suplex. Melina is able to rolls down behind Beth. She rolls her up and gets the win!

Winner: Melina

Crowd doesn’t really care, but Melina looks excited in the ring. She gets her arm raised much to Beth’s dismay. King obsesses over how hot they look and we head to the back.

Jericho is walking down the hall with the belt on his shoulder. He stops dead in his tracks and Teddy Long walks onto the screen.

Jericho: Teddy…

Teddy: Chris Jericho! Its been quite along time since I saw you in the ring playa. How ya been?

Jericho: I’ve been great Teddy. As you can see I’m the intercontinental for a record setting eighth time, and now I won’t have to defend my title against Jeff Hardy at Vengeance. Not that he could beat me anyway, but its just good to get the night off.

Teddy: Yeah playa…about that. I don’t know if you heard earlier, but I was made the interim general manager of RAW for as long as Mr. Regal can’t be here.

Jericho: Yeah…

Teddy: And I like to think I’m a fair GM, and that I did a good job as GM of Smackdown! And playa, what I saw tonight was a betrayal and a trick.

Jericho: Genius, wasn’t it?

Teddy: Well you might have thought so, but I have a genius decision. I can make matches for Vengeance…and I’m gonna make one now! I could care less if you promised Jeff the match if he won. You lost, but he’s getting it anyway!

Jericho: What??

Teddy: That’s right, at Vengeance you will take on Jeff Hardy for the intercontinental championship!

Jericho: What? No Teddy, you quit, you can’t-

Shawn Michaels then walks into the office to a nice pop.

Teddy: Chris, you can go now, I need a word with Shawn.

Jericho walks out of the room.

Teddy: Shawn, I just thought of a way to make your match with Batista even better.

Before we find out what it is, we cut back to the ring.

London Calling hits and Paul London comes running down the ramp with Kendrick by his side. It’s going to be a singles match.

Cool hits and Carlito comes down the ramp with Santino right by him. It is announced that they will face London and Kendrick next week in the tag team tournament.

This match was pretty good, got about eight minutes. London has mainly been in control with his fast speed. We pick up with both men in the middle of the ring. Carlito is hammering away at London with some lefts. London is finally able to block one, and he grabs the fist of Carlito. He pulls down Carlito in a snapmare variation, making Carlito sit down on the canvas. London dropkicks the chest of Carlito and covers but Carlito is able to kick out. London gets to his feet and stands over Carlito. He gets the crowd pumped and goes for the standing shooting star pres….but Carlito moves! London hits the canvas and holds his chest. Carlito rolls him over and covers, but London kicks out! Carlito lifts up London to his feet. London springs into action and whips Carlito off the ropes. Santino hops up onto the apron distracting London. He turns to face him, not seeing Carlito come behind him. He grabs London’s back and hits the backstabber! He covers and gets the win.

Winner: Carlito

Carlito gets to his feet and gets his arm raised by the ref. Santino runs into the ring excited, also raising Carlito’s hand up high.

We then see an add for Vengeance, just 2 weeks away! The video lasts about two minutes, before a commercial break. After the commercial we see a Smackdown! Rebound.

After this its time for our main event. All four men get into the ring after their entrances and get ready for a fight. The match lasts about fifteen minutes, with many exciting near falls and signature moves hit. Orton and Cena in the ring now, exchanging rights and lefts in the center of the ring. Orton grabs Cena’s arm and whips him off the ropes. Cena comes back at him and hits a shoulder block takedown. Cena working quick, signals for the five knuckle shuffle. He does the “you can’t see me” and runs off the ropes. He comes at Orton and hits the fist to the face. Cena backs up a little and signals for the FU. Orton gets to his feet and Cena lifts him up. Just then, Regal comes running down the ramp. He has brass knuckles in hand again. He punches Cena right in the back of the head with them, taking him down and making him drop Orton. Regal smiles and leaves the ring, but not before he throws Cena over the top rope. With both two men down, Kennedy slides under the ropes and covers Orton…but Orton kicks out. Kennedy lifts Orton to his feet. He kicks Orton in the gut and hits the mic check! Kennedy is about to cover, but JBL slides into the ring right in front of Kennedy. JBL charges at Kennedy and hits the clothesline from hell! JBL covers Kennedy to get the win!

Winner and new number one contender: JBL

JBL gets to his feet smiling. Triple H walks over to him and slowly raises his hand up. At this time, Kennedy and Orton both get up to their feet. Orton doesn’t like how Kennedy took him out of the match, and he runs over and RKO’s Kennedy. Triple H drops JBL’s arm, and JBL kicks him right in-between the legs! Triple H goes down on one knee, JBL runs off the ropes and back to him, hitting the clothesline from hell. All the faces are down as RAW comes to a close.
