Re: WWE - The Time Has Come
Okay, I saw your CAPS Lock confused name once again in this section, and I gotta say, I got wet.
Welcome back. Like KOP said, you just can't stay away, even when never may seem like never. Kinda disappointed EPW got flushed, but I expect you to put the 'E in a good spot. Sucks what happened to the EPW stuff, but the bar is high for this thread in my eyes.
Good luck.

Re: WWE - The Time Has Come
I read a little of your EPW, and I know you were an awesome booker. Sucks what happened to it. But, now your doing a WWE thread and the rosters are terrible. Can't wait to see what your going to do with them.
Good luck

Re: WWE - The Time Has Come
This looks really good man. The first post it set out and presented neatly. So kudos for that. Im usually not the biggest fan of modern day WWE BTB's, which is the reason I have never done one myself. But still I am hyped for this one, keep it up, and shoot a pm my way when the first show is up. Good luck.

Re: WWE - The Time Has Come
Oooooh, you're back! Quite wonderful, if I do say so myself. I remember reading EPW at first, but like most threads, I just lost myself in the shuffle of my periodic absences. Nonetheless, this looks like a well presented thread, and the JD '08 results are adequate.
You're kinda like me; I've said numerous times, "I quit BTB," but alas, there'll always be something that'll compel you to return, whether it be the personalities of the bookers or the irresistable allure of booking. I wish you luck in this endeavor, my friend, and may this thread prosper. If you can bring the EPW goodness to this thread, I'm sure it'll prosper.

You dirty Queenslander.
Why was I not informed of this return? Hmm?
Anyways, goodluck to you. I missed EPW, but I guess it's time for you to give something else a go.

Re: WWE - The Time Has Come
Thanks for the positive responces so far everyone. Now, here are the first set of recaps. As I said, in my recaps, I will be making mention of all what I consider to be "important" events from each show.
Without furhter ado, here is the END OF MAY recap and KING OF THE RING RESULTS!
Monday 19th RAW… same old shit.
Jeff Hardy kicked off the night with his return match on Monday Night Raw! He took on his old foe, UMAGA! The match ends after Umaga’s head smashed off the top of the turnbuckle and he ate a Swanton Bomb!
General Manager, William Regal made an appearance and announced that on the 1st of June the King of the Ring Pay Per View will return! Regal says that there will be 16 entries in the tournament and the qualifying matches, which will be inter-brand will start tonight. Mister Kennedy interrupted, telling Regal that he wanted to be involved. Regal says that after the way Kennedy has carried himself in recent weeks that he will NOT even get a chance to be considered as a possible entrant to the tournament. Kennedy naturally reacted indifferently to this news and immediately started beat the hell out of Regal until the music of VINCE MCMAHON struck out and around the arena and acknowledged the fact that the King of the Ring Tournament will indeed begin tonight and the winner of the tournament will face the champion of their choosing at Vengeance: NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS! As for Kennedy and Regals’s little problem, he tells them that tonight they’re going to sort their problems once and for all because they’ll face off in a match, a FIRST BLOOD MATCH… The Winner will advance in the King of the Ring Tournament and the loser will be… FIIIIIIIIIIRED! Vince tells Kennedy and Regal to keep their hands off each other until their match and to get the hell out of his ring. He then addresses another issue – WWE Pay Per View events. He says a few months ago he made the decision to rid World Wrestling Entertainment of Brand Exclusive Pay Per Views but he is going to do something he’s never done before and admit he made a mistake in doing that so commencing at the Great American Bash, Brand Exclusive Pay View View’s will return to the WWE!!!
In the first of the Round 1 King of the Ring matches Charlie Haas made his first appearance on Raw on who the fuck knows how long and defeated Lance Cade to advance.
In the second round one match, one half of the World Tag Team Champions – Cody Rhodes defeated ECW’s Elijah Burke in a strong match when Burke missed the Elijah Express
In Tag Team action, Brian Kendrick and Paul London defeated Santino Marella and Carlito.
JBL ran down John Cena saying that he hated the way Cena stole the victory at Judgement Day and it was a lucky win. Bradshaw said he wasn’t done with Cena and challenged him to a Falls Count Anywhere match at King of the Ring. No sign of Cena.
In the Main Event, Mr Kennedy defeated William Regal in the First Blood Match. Afterwards Vince appeared at the top of the stage and blasted out “WILLIAM REGAL… YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU’RE FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRED” as Raw cut off the air with Regal on his knees in the ring, blood pouring out of his skull.
Tuesday 20th ECW
The show opened with Shelton Benjamin in the ring with a microphone. Benjamin had the King of the Ring on his mind and said that not only is it right that he be entered in the King of the Ring tournament but it would be an outrage if he didn’t win it. He puts over that he is the Gold Standard of the WWE and there isn’t anyone in ECW that can do anything about him winning the King of the Ring because “There ain’t no stoppin’ him!” Armando Estrada came out and told Shelton that he was indeed entered in the King of the Ring but he shouldn’t get his hopes up because his opponent was no easy beat, he says that Shelton has to battle the toughest individual not just in all of the WWE at the moment but in professional wrestling history. With that said, Colin Delaney then made his way out looking scared shitless as Estrada and Benjamin share a laugh in the ring. Naturally the match didn’t last long – Shelton picked up the win with the T-Bone Suplex to advance.
In the next match Tommy Dreamer battled Elijah Burke. Looking to prove a point after his defeat on Raw last night at the hands of Cody Rhodes, Burke nailed the Elijah Express and picked up the victory. Burke got on the microphone after the match and said last night, Cody Rhodes made the biggest mistake of his life.
In the third match of the evening, Kofi Kingston defeated Mike Knox to keep his undefeated streak intact.
There was a promo from Kane welcoming the challenge from the winner of the King of the Ring tournament. He went as far as to dare the winner to face him.
In the Main Event, an old rivalry was rekindled as the former ECW Champion; Chavo Guerrero took on Mr Money in the Bank, CM Punk. After a solid match which featured constant interference from La Familia; namely Ryder and Hawkins and also featured an appearance from Edge, Punk prevailed – nailing the GTS for the Win!
Friday 23rd Smackdown!
Vickie Guerrero and La Familia opened the show. Vickie reiterated that the World Heavyweight Championship was still vacant but she said at King of the Ring, that is going to change when Edge takes on The Undertaker in a TLC MATCH! Vickie then announced tonight we would see a Handicap match in our Main Event as The Undertaker and the ECW Champion, Kane would be taking on Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Zach Ryder and Kurt Hawkins in a 4 on 2 tag match.
The Big Show took on Big Daddy V in the first match of the evening. In a total snore fest, the match was declared a no contest when both men were counted out after Big Show booted BDV over the top rope and down to the floor. After a slight scuffle, Show’s strength proved to much and he over powered Big Daddy V and CHOKESLAMMED THE BIG MOTHERFUCKER THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!!!! Is he dead? I sure hope so. Show got on the microphone after the match and re-declared his status as the most dominant man in WWE after defeating The Great Khali and now Big Daddy V.
Chavo Guerrero was found backstage totally decimated. Edge panicked momentarily until Vickie announced that Edge had until the end of the show to find a suitable replacement for Chavo.
MVP def. Finlay via the Playmaker to advance in the King of the Ring.
The United States Champion, Matt Hardy defeated one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison after a Twist of Fate to advance in the King of the Ring.
Mark Henry destroyed Jamie Noble with the Worlds Strongest Slam to advance in the King of the Ring.
In the Main Event after Edge had spent the last part of the show looking for another partner (since Bam Neeley was apparently unavailable too), The Rated R Superstar revealed his partner to be non other than… THE LEGEND KILLER, RANDY ORTON! Taker and Kane got the victory thanks to simultaneous Chokeslams on Ryder and Hawkins but Orton and Edge had the last laugh with Kane copping an RKO and Taker getting nailed with a big Spear from Edge!
Monday 26th Raw
Randy Orton opened the show and talked about turning up on Friday Night SmackDown to team up with Edge once again to take out Kane & The Undertaker. He says it made him believe in himself again and made him believe that he can beat anybody. He goes on to say at King of the Ring since he was not entered in the tournament he will be hosting “The Legend Killer Invitational”. He is inviting anyone to come to King of the Ring and get into the four sided circle with him – it doesn’t matter if it’s a Legend or a nobody, he will destroy them. He says he is more relentless then ever, he says that Triple H has awoken a sleeping giant and now he has lost the title all he is worried about is winning it back and he will stop at nothing to do just that. He says he will take out absolutely anybody that gets in his way when suddenly Randy turns around in the ring sharply into the cameraman that was filming in the ring. Orton immediately sees red and pushes the cameraman backwards before dropping him with the RKO out of nowhere!!!!! The fans shat on Orton’s actions while the commentators put over just how volatile Randy can get.
In our opening match for the evening, Jeff Hardy took on Snitsky. Typical comeback from Hardy after Snitsky beat the fuck out of him early on. Jeff picked up the win after a Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb. After the match Umaga came out and started to decimate Hardy. The Samoan Bulldozer nailed the Swinging Side Slam followed by the Samoan Spike. Umaga stood over Hardy, slapping his chest and yelling viciously at him.
Vince McMahon announced at King of the Ring Jeff Hardy would battle Umaga in a Stretcher Match. Vince then made another announcement – Randy Orton’s “Legend Killer Invitational” will NOT be happening at King of the Ring due to the fact he decided to lay his hands on an employee of WWE who is not a wrestler and was just doing his job. This bought about Orton’s arrival back to the ring, absolutely livid. Randy said Vince couldn’t do that which Vince obviously reminded him he could as Orton got into the ring, Vince told him if he takes one more step towards him he would suspend his ass. Orton gets in Vince’s face so McMahon says he is Suspended Indefinitely. Orton went to leave but turned back and dropped Vince with the RKO! Randy seethed as McMahon laid down and out in the middle of his own ring to a tone of heat.
Shelton Benjamin and Cody Rhodes did Battle in the first of the King of the Ring Quarter Finals. Shelton picked up the win after he distracted the referee by pulling off the turnbuckle cover, which gave Elijah Burke who accompanied Benjamin to ringside enough time to enter the ring, nail the Elijah Experience on Cody Rhodes, leaving him down for the count before Shelton made the cover for the victory.
Triple H cut a promo warning the victory of the King of the Ring against choosing to face him at Vengeance.
In the second King of the Ring Quarter Find match of the evening – Mark Henry beat Charlie Haas with the Worlds Strongest Slam.
John Cena defeated Santino Marella and after the match he told JBL to prepare himself for a war at King of the Ring because he accepts his challenge!
In the Main Event, Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels did battle in a rematch from Judgement Day. Jericho won via DQ after Michaels was down clutching at his knee looking once again as if it was injured but as soon as Y2J approached he got nailed with Sweet Chin Music. SmackDown’s Batista then sprinted down the aisle and pulled Michaels off the pin and planted him with the Batista Bomb! Batista stood over the fallen Michaels to end Raw.
Tuesday 27th ECW… YAWN!
John Morrison & The Miz def. Jesse & Festus
Kane & Kofi Kingston def. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely
CM Punk def. Mr Kennedy after the GTS in a strong match that lasted nearly 15 minutes to advance in the King of the Ring.
Friday 30th Smackdown
Batista opened SmackDown explaining his actions on Monday Night. He said he just happened to be backstage on Monday Night and we he saw Michaels fake that knee injury again he just saw “red” and was absolutely fuming and he didn’t want to see someone else fall victim to Michaels fabrication so he came out to prevent Chris Jericho from being embarrassed by HBK. Chris Jericho’s music then hit and Y2J came out saying he didn’t need or want Batista’s help. He says he was the first ever undisputed champion and he can fight his own battles… Jericho then rushes Batista and starts hammering away on him with erratic lefts and rights when suddenly Vince McMahon’s music hit to a big shock pop. Vince says he’s sick of all these games between Michaels, Batista & Jericho so at King of the Ring they’re going to sort out their issues once and for all in a Triple Threat Match and since the winner of the King of the Ring will not be from Raw, the winner of the Triple Threat will face Triple H at Vengeance, Night of Champions but if the KOTR winner chooses to go after the WWE Championship then it will be a Triple Threat match.
Jamie Noble def. Funaki
Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore defeated Deuce and Domino to become Number 1 Contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championships and would get a shot at those championships at King of the Ring. Vickie Guerrero then made an appearance and announced that at King of the Ring it would be a 3-way Tag Match as she is adding The Rated R Entourage, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins to the mix. Hawkins and Ryder then came through the crowd and beat the shit out of Yang and Moore from behind.
Matt Hardy defeated MVP with the Twist of Fate clean as a whistle to move on to the Semi Finals of the King of the Ring.
In the Main Event Kane pinned Edge after The Undertaker produced one of his freaky thundershock’s in the middle of the ring and scared the fuck out of The Rated R Superstar and he walked right into a Chokeslam!
King of the Ring Results
Shelton Benjamin def. CM Punk to advance to the FINAL of the King of the Ring
It took just over 12 minutes for Shelton to pick up the win after Elijah Burke who was again at ringside exposed a turnbuckle and Benjamin threwPunk straight into it face first and Mr Money in the Bank stumbled backwards out of the corner and straight into the T Bone Suplex to give Shelton the win.
Matt Hardy def. Mark Henry to advance to the FINAL of the King of the Ring
In a massive miss match, Henry absolutely destroyed Hardy until the United States Champion caught Henry with the Twist of Fate out of nowhere giving Matt literally a MASSIVE victory after 7 minutes.
Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins def. The Miz & John Morrison & Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore to WIN the WWE Tag Team Championships
Ryder rolled up Moore @ 7:34 after Miz & Morrison inadvertently took each other out.
JBL def. John Cena in a No Holds Barred Match
Cena and JBL threw everything at each other but it was Cena who managed to pick up the win @ 17:12 nailed a Powerbomb to Cena on the Steel Ring Steps and then nearly decapitating him with a Clothesline from Hell.
Jeff Hardy def. Umaga in a Stretcher Match
In a brutal Hardy hit Umaga with everything but the Kitchen sink. He hit a Twist of Fate on a Steel Chair, a Whisper in the Wind from the Guard Rail and with Umaga laid out on the Stretcher… Hardy nailed a very risky SWANTON BOMB from up on the top turnbuckle down on to the Samoan Bulldozer to put him away and wheel him up the aisle @ 15:34
Batista def. Chris Jericho & Shawn Michaels to become Number 1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship
SmackDown’s Batista managed to prove to strong for both Michaels and Y2J as he eventually put Shawn away with a Batista Bomb after Jericho was down and out on the floor after missing the Lionsault on Batista on the outside. This allowed Batista time to get back into the ring, counter an attempt at Sweet Chin Music with a Spinebuster and then finish Michaels off with the Batista Bomb @ 19:29 to end a surprisingly good match.
Shelton Benjamin def. Matt Hardy to become the 2008 King of the Ring
Again Shelton made the most of some help from Elijah Burke at ringside as Burke made his presence known on the apron for long enough to distract the referee and Matt Hardy allowing Shelton enough time to prepare himself before nailing Paydirt @ 20:39!
Edge def. The Undertaker to WIN the Vacant World Heavyweight Championship
In a brutal 25 minute plus epic, Edge finally managed to capture the World Title after it looked like The Undertaker was about to climb to the top of the ladder and pick up the title but Edge tipped up the ladder and sent ‘Taker reeling down to the outside crashing through a table in the process. Edge then successfully set up another ladder and got the win.
Well, that's that. Nothing much of note, except the Orton suspension. Comments are welcome, hoped for, encouraged and appreciated.

Re: WWE - The Time Has Come
KOTR Comments
Shelton beating Punk was a surprise, and after Hardy beat Henry there was me thinking this will be Vee-Onnah's time to shine, but SHELTON WINS! Fucking big surprise to me, and this will be great to push Benji aslong as a: You don't Mac Jesus push him or b: Fuck with his ego character. Gonna be interesting to see how you handle this one.
Edge beating Taker. MEH. I'm sick of this feud and hopefully soon we can see some new challengers for both men. I am NOT looking forward to seeing Batista back near the title either after he beat two much better superstars in Y2J and HBK. No marks for that I'm afraid
Edgehead's winning the Tag straps is sweet. Fuck off Miz and that jobber tag team down to jobber status and elevate Morrison back to the midcard plz. JBL beating Cena is fucking rare, Superman losing is good. Looked like a brutal match and it's nice to see someone giving a shit about stipulations instead of the fearsome CAGE MATCH!~
And the Stretcher match looked quite good too. Jeff winning I'm not too fond of but I would hope Mags does more than Jeff because really, who needs an overrated spotmonkey in the title scene when you've got Mags. Nice ending to that match.
Solid stuff but I'd crave for a bit more detail in recaps next time. No major complaints, except for the fact you NEED some better workers on your aformentioned SHITTY roster atm. Much love.

Re: WWE - The Time Has Come
<3 Reney.
Yes, the Roster sucks balls. I hate it. Shall change in the next few episodes.
Edge & Taker will have a blow off to the feud and then that'll be done. As for the Batista inclusion in the Title match, I'm well aware that Y2J and HBK own him in every way possible but it's necessary for 'Tista to be involved in the Title match for future storyline development.
I thought I'd pull somewhat of a "swerve" by having Punk actually lose, something that never happened in EPW as anyone who knows me, knows I'm a huge Punk mark.
Anyways, thanks for the comments bud. As I said, they are not full show recaps, basically just important shit that went down on said particular shows.

Re: WWE - The Time Has Come
First of all Batista OWNS ~___~. Him winning was more than okay
Shelton Benjamin as King of the Ring is quite a surprise to me too. It'll be interesting to see what you do with him. Insert King in the gimmick to use him to full potential. Edge vs. Undertaker blow off match? I'm not looking forward to it and since Edge won I can't see Taker getting the belt back. JBL beating Cena isn't that good of an idea considering JBL is washed up and Cena is the biggest face in the company and will be for a long time. Jeff beating Umaga is acceptable considering they're both huge assets. Edgeheads as tag champs = sucky . Miz and Morrison OWN just as hard as 'Tista tbh. Orton feuding with McMahon = face McMahon = bad for ratingz...
Some slight errors, spelling, grammar and other but the booking aspect is good
