Re: PatMan Presents: WWE 2006 Revisited

Monday Night Raw - May 22nd, 2006 - Las Vegas, Nevada
Jim Ross and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler start the night by running down the card of matches, which includes Chavo Guerrero & The WGTT vs. 3 members of The Spirit Squad, The Motor City Machine Guns making their WWE debut, and ‘Caribbean Cool’ Carlito vs. Matt Striker.
We kick off the night with our first match, as ‘The Doctor’ John Cena takes on The Big Show. The crowd doesn’t know who to cheer, as both wrestlers are heels, but both men have something to prove, and they put on a very good contest. J.R. and King talk about Cena’s promise to take out title contenders, as well as Big Show’s recent altercations with Kane. Big Show dominates the early going, before Cena makes his comeback and begins to take the advantage as we near the finish. Cena looks set to finish the match, as he hits the Five-Knuckle Shuffle but he can’t get Big Show onto his shoulders for the F-U. Big Show takes Cena down with a clothesline, but doesn’t get time to capitalize … as KANE slides into the ring and BLASTS BIG SHOW WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!
The referee calls for the bell, giving Big Show the win by DQ at 7:23. Big Show doesn’t go down after the chair shot, simply wobbling on his feet, but Kane begins to wail on him with right hands, as Cena slides out of the ring. John begins walking up the ramp, waving his hands, saying that he doesn’t need to get involved, and he is passed by about a dozen security guards, who get into the ring and pull Big Show and Kane apart. Both men are being held back by six officials, as they don’t take their eyes off each other, with nothing being decided here tonight.
{Commercial Break}
Todd Grisham stands by with Armando Alejandro Estrada, who DOESN’T have Umaga by his side. AAE says that he gave Umaga the night off because he heard that Chavo Guerrero is back and he doesn’t want Chavo to get hurt. Estrada tells Chavo that he may be back from the assault Umaga laid on him two weeks ago, but he better keep his distance, because Umaga can put him out FOR GOOD without even breaking a sweat.
In the communal locker room, the I.C. Champion Gregory Helms talks with ‘The Masterpiece’ Chris Masters. Helms says that he was glad to see Masters walk out on Carlito last week, because Masters was only being held back by his former tag team partner. Helms calls Carlito a disgrace to the wrestling business, saying that he will never get anywhere without someone watching his back. Masters agrees, saying that he is relieved that his days with Carlito are finally behind him, and now he can focus on his own career. Helms wishes him luck, before leaving the locker room.
The second match of the night features 3 of the five members of the World Tag Team Champions The Spirit Squad, Johnny, Nicky, and Mitch, going against Chavo Guerrero and the World’s Greatest Tag Team. Both teams hold the advantage for a short time, with the numbers advantage of the Spirit Suqad being the difference early on, before Kenny tells the three in the ring that they need to win the match themselves. This puts the match in favor of Chavo and TWGTT, as they are able to isolate Mitch for a little while, before Haas finishes him off with the Haas of Pain to get the submission victory at 5:41.
Chavo, Shelton, and Haas celebrate in the ring, as The Spirit Squad dejectedly walk up the ramp, clearly disappointed that they couldn’t get the job done tonight. Chavo slaps hands with both members of the WGTT, as J.R. and King put over all three men.
{Commercial Break}
Smackdown Lowdown:
- Marcus Cor Von makes his WWE debut, defeating Juventud Guerra by pinfall.
- Clips of both Batista’s and Booker T’s pre-taped interviews, as both talk about their match at Judgment Day.
- Kid Kash defeats Rey Mysterio, thanks to a distraction by Ken Kennedy.
- Orton and JBL defeat The Hooligans after an RKO to Kendrick. The lights go out after the match, with Undertaker laying out Orton with a chokeslam, as JBL walks out on Orton.
***METALINGUS***
‘The Rated R Superstar’ EDGE makes his way down to the ring, with LITA by his side. Edge is getting booed, as usual, and he holds the WWE Title high above his head, before receiving a microphone from Lillian Garcia.
Edge starts by saying that the tag team match from last week means nothing because it was Kurt Angle who got the loss, not him. Angle wanted to win the match on his own, so Edge let him wrestle on his own, and Angle did what he has done since WM22 … he lost!! This gets a pop from the fans, but Edge quickly continues, saying that Triple H shouldn’t get the next title shot, because he has never beaten Edge with the WWE Title on the line. Edge says that the next #1 contender should EARN their shot, and he is going to wait for Jonathan Coachman to make that happen. Edge is about to continue, but he is soon cut off…
… as ‘The Game’ TRIPLE H steps out onto the stage, getting a huge pop from the fans. Triple H goes through the usual motions on the way to the ring, before he steps in and gets his own microphone. Triple H begins by saying that Edge is right, he didn’t lose the match last week … but he acted like a little BITCH by walking out on his tag team partner. Edge fumes after this last comment, but Triple H continues by saying that Edge is nothing but a coward, and that is why he won’t face Triple H one-on-one for the WWE Title. Edge is set to fire back, but Triple H doesn’t want to hear it, instead he CHALLENGES EDGE TO A MATCH AT VENGEANCE … FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP!! This gets a huge pop from the fans, but Edge shakes his head, and is about to tell Triple H off, but is again interrupted…
… as the GM of Raw Jonathan Coachman steps out onto the stage, getting major heat from the fans. Coach says that he is not going to make the match between Edge and Triple H for Vengeance (heat) … at least not right now. Coach says that we will be having a #1 contender’s match … LATER TONIGHT!! It will be ‘The Game’ Triple H … going one-on-one with ‘The Wrestling Machine’ KURT ANGLE!! This gets a big pop from the fans, as Triple H nods his head, knowing what he has to do, as Edge looks concerned, while the show fades to break.
{Commercial Break}
Maria conducts an interview with ‘The Doctor’ John Cena. Cena is very pissed off, having just heard the news of the #1 contender’s match between Kurt Angle and Triple H in tonight’s main event. Cena says that Coach is an idiot and he can’t be expected to just sit around and watch other guys take the title shots that HE should be receiving. Cena closes by saying that he proved to the world just how dangerous he is with his assault on HBK two weeks ago and anyone else who steps in his way will get the same treatment.
In the third match of the night, Carlito takes on Matt Striker. After losing to the Redneck Wrecking Crew last week because Chris Masters bailed on him, Carlito seems to show a fire we haven’t seen in a while, as he now has the crowd (somewhat) behind him, and he dominates the inferior former schoolteacher. Carlito runs through his arsenal, not being tested very much by Striker, as he finishes off the match with the Apple Core to get the three count at 4:50.
Carlito gets his hand raised, as we cut backstage, with ‘The Masterpiece’ Chris Masters watching his former tag team partner on a monitor, shaking his head in disgust, while Carlito plays to the fans, seemingly gaining more and more support with each passing week.
In the diva’s locker room, Victoria and the Women’s Champion Mickie James talk about their win last week. Mickie says that they dominated and proved that they are better than Trish Stratus and anyone she wants to take to the ring with her. Victoria says that Trish isn’t here this week, probably because she doesn’t want to be embarrassed for the second week in a row. Mickie says that with Trish gone, the next challenger for the Women’s Title could be anyone, causing an awkward staredown between Mickie and Vickie, before we fade out.
{Commercial Break}
We see Jonathan Coachman sitting in his office, looking over some paperwork, before a knock on the door is heard, and in walks ‘The Game’ TRIPLE H. Hunter, now dressed to compete with a ‘King of Kings’ t-shirt on over the top, says that he is glad Coach made the match between him and Angle tonight, because now H can prove to the whole world why he should be facing Edge at Vengeance. Hunter says that Coach has been holding him back by not giving him a one-on-one match with Edge, but after tonight, Coach won’t have a choice, because Triple H is facing The Rated R Superstar at Vengeance … and that’s a guaran-damn-tee.
In the fourth match of the night, The Motor City Machine Guns make their WWE debut, taking on the former tag team champions, La Resistance. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have a ton of followers in the WWE audience from their days in TNA and ROH, with the crowd 100% behind the newcomers. Sabin and Shelley don’t miss a beat in their first match, taking it to the Frenchmen for the majority of the contest, before Sabin finishes the match with the Cradle Shock to Conway for the pinfall at 5:03.
Sabin and Shelley get their hands raised by the referee before they each scale a turnbuckle, getting more cheers from the fans, with their first WWE match a success and hopefully, a sign of things to come.
{Commercial Break}
In a backstage hallway, Sabin and Shelley are heading back to the locker room, talking about their first win but they are cut off … by the REDNECK WRECKING CREW. Cade and Murdoch look the newcomers up and down, before they both begin to smirk. Cade says that it is funny how Sabin and Shelley can come into the best company in the world and think that they are great just because they beat some no-name team. Sabin fires back by saying that he hasn’t see the RWC win a real match in a while, and if they ever meet down the line, Sabin and Shelley will show them why they are the best team on Raw. The two teams have a staredown before Cade and Murdoch walk off.
In another hallway, Triple H talks with ‘The Nature Boy’ RIC FLAIR. Naitch wishes Triple H good luck in his match against Kurt Angle, stating that he wants to see Hunter beat Edge at Vengeance and become WWE Champion. H tells Flair that he can get the title shot whenever he wants and it would be an honor to face him with the belt on the line. Flair says that we will see who the better man is when the time comes.
In an interview with Kelly Kelly, Kurt Angle talks about the main event match against Triple H. Angle says that the one thing he has been working for since WM22 is a one-on-one shot at the WWE Championship, and now he has that opportunity. Angle says that he is not letting this chance pass him by and he is going to beat Triple H tonight and then take down Edge at Vengeance. Angle closes by saying that you’d better believe it’s true … DAMN TRUE. J.R. and King give the main event one final sell, and it will be right after this commercial break.
{Commercial Break}
In the main event, Triple H and Kurt Angle do battle to determine the #1 contender for Edge’s WWE Championship at Vengeance. The match plays out pretty well, as both men get in their shots throughout, as neither get the advantage for very long and we get to the ten-minute mark before any big shots are fired. Angle breaks off three German suplexes for a two count. Angle goes for the ANGLE SLAM … but Triple H floats over and ducks a clothesline before taking Angle down with a DOUBLE “A” SPINEBUSTER!! Angle gets his shoulder up after two and Triple H tries to go back on the advantage, looking for the PEDIGREE … but Angle slips out and takes it to Triple H with right hands into the corner. Angle and Triple H begin to trade rights and lefts around the ring, and the referee tries to break the two up, but things get too out of hand … and the referee calls for the bell, ending the match in a no contest at 12:20.
Even after the bell is rung numerous times, Angle and Hunter continue to go at it, now making their way to the outside, and they don’t intend on stopping … UNTIL NUMEROUS REFEREES RUN DOWN TO THE RING AND BREAK THE TWO UP. Much like Kane and Big Show earlier, Angle and H stare each other down, as we cut to a shot of ‘The Rated R Superstar’ EDGE watching the goings-on on the monitor, with a big smirk on his face. J.R. and King close the show by wondering who the number one contender will be for Vengeance, as Angle and Triple H continue to stare each other down.
END OF SHOW

Re: PatMan Presents: WWE 2006 Revisited
Raw Feedback
VERY strange choice of match to kick things off with. The only way I can can of understand Cena and Show being in the same ring, one-on-one is that they are both in the running to be #1 Contender and this was ... uh, a way of impressing Coach? Yeah, I'm lost. Didn't really make sense at all, Pat. Strange yet cool that Show was in control when Kane got involved {monster heel push for White plz}, since he usually just jobs to Cena. The Show/Kne dynamic was slightly more exciting this week, but it's still generic as hell.
AAE has been unleashed on your thread finally and he's already owning it after 3 weeks. Strange that 'Mags is AWOL after only 2 appearances, but I guess it always makes sense with a character like his. I expect Chavo/'Maga to be announced for Vengeance pretty soon.
Ah ha, I guess you won't be going with a straight 'Lito/Masters match at Vengeance after all. Triple Threat for the IC title it would seem. A small heel alliance between Helms and The Masterpiece could be fun and make CCC look pretty strong.
WGTT WIN A MATCH~!!! Wow, thank god for that. Looks like they'll be getting the next shot at the SS {believe me, it's a fun as hell match to write}, and Chavito gets a bit of momentum before being fed to the Bulldozer. Nice.
Edge is awesome. Nice placement for this segment from the champ, especially with the blockbuster main event you've set up. With all of these showdowns, Hunter/Edge is almost guaranteed to happen soon. My bet? SummerSlam, with Angle/H going nowhere tonight, so the Triple Threat is up for Vengeance with Angle getting pinned by Edge. Not what I originally guessed, but it looks to be the direction you're going with it. Coach OWNS btw.
Hmmm, these words by The Doctor make me think that he might get involved in the main event later tonight; though I'm not sure. I can't see HBK coming back by Vengeance to havea third match in a row with Cena, but you never know.
Good win for 'Lito to continue his face push. Shame about Striker eh?
Looks like you're going the Mickie/Victoria route then. It'd be a shame I reckon because this 'alliance' of sorts between the two of them could really go places.
"I am The Game, I am the King of Kings, blah blah blah". Yeah, anyway, Coach owns Helmsley in every way possible so I hope he continues to stiff H after these little showdowns.
I'm interested to see how you handle the MCMG in WWE. I think you exagerrated their following a bit. Most of the WWE fans have never even heard of TNA, let alone ROH, and especially in Las Vegas, a place not renowned for its smarkish views. Still, I hope you do good things with them. Just, no Jesus push plz.
Bit soon for MCMG to have a feud isn't it? Oh well, looks like you're wasting absolutely no time with them. I have a horrible feeling I can see a Jesus push on the horizon. Shame the RWC are mere fodder for them. Tone it down.
I guess Hunter might be the one who takes the belt from Edge then soon and thus we get Flair/H down the line. I hope not though, since Trips is boring as hell as a champion.
Angle OWNS. Win for him tonight ... plz.
Yeah, I suspected as much. Angle/Hunter goes absolutel nowhere and a Triple Threat match is very much on the horizon. Maybe Cena gets in on the act too? Maybe Kane and Show too? Either way, after all this, no way in hell do we get a one-on-one match for the title at Vengeance.
Solid recap as always, Pat.

Re: PatMan Presents: WWE 2006 Revisited
Thanks for the feedback, John. This is the final SD! before Judgment Day. The PPV will be posted in recap around Monday or Tuesday of next week. ENJOY~!
***

Friday Night Smackdown!; May 26th, 2006; Bakersfield, California:
After the usual opening video and pyrotechnics, we get a promo to start the show, as Ken Kennedy comes down to the ring. KK, using his awesome old school mic, talks about his match with Rey Mysterio at Judgment Day, which was made official last week. Kennedy says that this is his first chance to prove why he is a future World Champion and the future face of the WWE. He says that Rey is not in his league, and that will be proven at Judgment Day. This of course brings out ‘The Master of the 619’ Rey Mysterio, who gets a decent pop from the crowd. Rey tells KK that he is too confident heading into the match on Sunday, and that will be what ends up costing him a victory. Rey says that he is always overlooked, and he will do the same thing to Kennedy that he did to JBL, and that is beat him on a big stage. KK fires back by saying that he is not JBL and he doesn’t underestimate Rey … he just knows he’s better. The two have a stare down as we cut to break.
{Commercial Break}
Cole and Tazz run down the card for tonight, which includes: Marcus Cor Von against Vito, Orlando Jordan against Hardcore Holly, Booker T & Finlay against Matt Hardy & Batista, Ken Kennedy against Jamie Noble, and the main event - The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton in a non-title match.
In the first match of the night, Orlando Jordan takes on Hardcore Holly. The two go back and forth for a short amount of time, with Hardcore seemingly having the advantage until The Basham Brothers cause the distraction, allowing OJ to hit the Complete Shot for the pinfall at 5:20. After the bell, Doug and Danny help Jordan beat down Holly, but The Hooligans come out and make the save. London and Kendrick help Hardcore to his feet, as the members of The Cabinet head up the ramp.
In an interview with Steve Romero, Jamie Noble talks about his match with Kennedy tonight, and also his match with Kid Kash at JD. Noble says that Kennedy talking about being in the main event is a joke, and he will beat him tonight … before finishing the job against Kash on Sunday.
{Commercial Break}
Backstage, we see the arrival of ‘The Wrestling God’ John Bradshaw Layfield, along with Jillian Hall. Cole and Tazz talk about JBL walking out on Randy Orton after the main event last week.
Raw Rebound
In the locker room, Melina is standing in front of the mirror, seemingly just to give the guys in the audience something to gawk over. As she finishes up her makeup, she is startled as The Mexicools come up behind her. Melina tells them to leave but Super Crazy and Psicosis don’t listen, saying they just wanted to watch her get ready. They ask her if she would be with them instead of Nitro and Mercury … but their fun comes to an end, as the WWE Tag Team Champions enter the room. They ask Crazy and Psi what they are doing, but don’t give them a chance to answer … as they jump the #1 contenders! MNM lay into The Mexicools with stomps and right hands, before some officials break them up, and Teddy Long comes into the room tells MNM to wait until JD. We fade out with Super Crazy and Psicosis struggling to get to their feet.
{Commercial Break}
In the second match of the night, Vito takes on the newest Smackdown! superstar, Marcus Cor Von. Like last week, the match is just to showcase Cor Von’s talents in the ring, as he runs through Vito with ease, hitting The Pounce for the win at 3:24.
In an interview with Kristal Marshall, JBL talks about what happened at the end of last week’s show. JBL says that Orton made the mistake of assuming that there are alliances when everyone should be looking out for themselves. Bradshaw says that he is going to be taking the night off and heading to Phoenix early, so that he can be ready for the Three Way Dance at Judgment Day. He wishes Orton and ‘Taker good luck for tonight’s match … and says he hopes they don’t hurt each other too bad.
{Commercial Break}
In the third match of the night, the Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble faces Ken Kennedy. The two young superstars put on a decent contest, with numerous near falls and counters, as we head into the finish with Noble’s speed being too much for KK to handle. KK rakes the eyes and looks to hit a neckbreaker but REY MYSTERIO comes running down to ringside. Kennedy gets distracted for a moment, allowing Noble to roll him up from behind for the three count at 8:23.
Kennedy pops back up and rolls out of the ring, but Rey is already heading up the ramp. Back in the ring, Noble gets his hand raised but is taken down … BY KID KASH! Kash blasts Noble with the CW Title from behind, sending the final message before JD.
Backstage, Matt Hardy and Batista talk about their tag team match later on, saying that they have won as a team before and they can win again. Hardy looks set to walk off but Batista pulls him back … and says that he wants to face Booker in the ring … and Matt should stay out of the way.
{Commercial Break}
At ringside, Cole and Tazz run down the Judgment Day card, which is now complete with a six-man tag team match - Hardcore Holly & The Hooligans vs. Orlando Jordan & The Basham Brothers.
In the fourth match of the night, Booker T & Finlay face off against Batista & U.S. Champion Matt Hardy. Every time Booker is tagged into the match, Batista demands a tag from Hardy, which sees Booker tag back out to Finlay. After numerous near falls, we finish with Booker T and Matt in the ring. Hardy looks set to hit the Twist of Fate, but Sharmell distracts the referee while Finlay gets into the ring and BLASTS HARDY WITH THE DAMN SHILLELAGH!! Batista forces Sharmell up the ramp while Hardy goes down on one knee, with Booker hitting the Scissors Kick to get the win at 10:23.
Finlay grabs the U.S. Title from ringside, gets back into the ring and looks set to blast Hardy with it … but then stops short, and holds the U.S. Title above his head instead. The crowd boos this, as Finlay looks to have all of the momentum heading into JD.
{Commercial Break}
Before the main event gets underway, we cut backstage to see The Cabinet leaving the arena, getting into their limo and seemingly heading to Phoenix for Judgment Day.
In the main event, we get a non-title match between ‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton and ‘The Deadman’ The Undertaker. Due to time constraints, the two don’t get a ton of time, but put on a decent match at a good pace, with Undertaker dominating heading into the final stretch. Undertaker looks set to hit the Chokeslam, but Orton kicks him in the knee and rolls out of the ring. Orton grabs his title from ringside and heads up the ramp slowly, as the referee counts TLK out at 9:26.
Orton holds the belt above his head on the outside, telling Undertaker that he won’t be getting it at Judgment Day. Orton heads up the ramp, but just as he gets to the top … UNDERTAKER HOLDS HIS HANDS UP AND LIGHTNING STRIKES THE RAMP!!
Orton backtracks down the ramp, with Undertaker meeting him halfway and dragging him back into the ring! Before Undertaker can do more than hit a few right hands … JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD AND THE ENTIRE CABINET COME DOWN TO THE RING!!
JBL and Orlando go after Undertaker, while The Bashams take Orton. Undertaker pushes back Orlando … but turns around into a Clothesline From Hell!! Orton tries to fight off the Bashams but after he drops Doug with an RKO … he is taken down by a Clothesline From Hell as well!!
The show ends with JBL standing tall in the center of the ring, holding Orton’s title in the air, as he has outsmarted BOTH of his JD opponents just forty eight hours before the Three Way Dance.
END OF SHOW

Re: PatMan Presents: WWE 2006 Revisited
World Heavyweight Championship; Three Way Dance:
‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton vs.
‘The Phenom’ The Undertaker vs.
‘The Wrestling God’ John Bradshaw Layfield w/ Jillian Hall
(JBL got the advantage this past week so logic dictates Undertaker or Orton. I'm going with Taker with Orton and JBL continuing an angle on the side with eachother in the process of gunning for the title.)
Grudge Match:
‘The Animal’ Batista vs. Booker T w/ Sharmell
(Face goes over. Batista is awesome and I'm not terribly addicted to Booker's character either.)
---
United States Championship Match:
Matt Hardy vs. Finlay
(Like I alluded to a few weeks back in my review, Hardy wins and Finlay goes on a rampage whilst trying to get a shot at the US Title. Would make for an epic few months between the two.)
Grudge Match:
Ken Kennedy vs. Rey Mysterio
(Mysterio, imo, based soley on bringing Kennedy back down to earth and making up for losing in his hometown a couple of weeks ago.)
WWE Tag Team Championship Match:
MNM w/ Melina vs. The Mexicools
(No other choice)
Cruiserweight Championship Match:
Jamie Noble vs. Kid Kash
(Kash, imo, if not for my purely coincedental love for him.)
Six-Man Tag Team Match:
Hardcore Holly & The Hooligans vs. Orlando Jordan & The Basham Brothers
(A win would do more good for Holly/Hooligans than Jordan and 'le Bashams, imo.)

Re: PatMan Presents: WWE 2006 Revisited
SD! Review
Opening Segment: This provided great hype for the match, but I feel that the World Title program should've been given the opening. It's the hottest, not to mention main, feud of the show. But, having Rey and Kennedy here made their feud seem more important, and overall it was a very solid promo. I like Kennedy's last line, particularly.
Orlando/Holly: Pointless, really. Just used as a way to put over the Hooligans/Bashams feud, but I'm glad that it came at Holly's expense. I've never liked that guy.
Noble Interview: Noble vs. Kennedy is a solid match, and even though this was very short, I could just imagine Noble's intensity. I also envisioned a comedic scenario, as Noble is absolutely hilarious. More so than the overrated Santino Marella.
MNM/Mexicools Segment: A funny segment, set up quite nicely with Melina. I like that the Mexicools asked for her to be with them, as it would be interesting (my first thought was kind of like LAX). Mercury' and Nitro's (I hate calling him that, Morrison rules!) attack I didn't feel was timed right. It didn't feel all that justified. If they let Crazy and Psicosis explain themselves beforehand, then I thought it would've been better. I kind of laughed at Teddy appearing, since he just kind of showed up.
Cor Von/Vito: Cor Von is a great talent, and I hope that you find a program for him sooner than later. Not much to say about this, although I'm not sure if Vito's wearing the dress here or not.
JBL Interview: A great interview here, I loved the line about not counting on alliances. JBL was perfectly in character here, and props for mentioning my hometown, haha.
Noble/Kennedy: A solid match, but I found Rey coming out unprovoked a little out of character for him. The rest of the segment flowed very smoothly, and it put over both feuds well. I hope that Kash doesn't win the title, as I've never liked him.
Matt/Batista Segment: A nice little segment here, lets the people know that these two have worked together before, and that they should do well in their match. I kind of got the impression of a Batista heel turn after that list bit, but I'm going to shrug it off because it was perfectly in character for him to be like that, and there's a lot of heels in this thread already.
Tag Match: A good match, a lot of great psychology here. I loved that Finlay opted not to hit Matt with the belt, it shows a new side to the Finlay character of this time, showing honor and a little respect, while still being disrespectful. Great stuff. But, Hardcore Holly gets PPV time after getting squashed? Wow.
Main Event: Strong booking here, man. I love the lightning, it's always a treat. The final segment came off very well, with JBL taking both 'Taker and Orton out with his crew, who were surpisingly not completely killed. But, I don't see JBL walking away with the belt at Judgement Day.
Overall: I haven't reviewed lately, but I've been reading, and I've definitely been impressed by the way things are going. Strong shows on both RAW and SD!'s sides of things, and Judgement Day should be a hell of a PPV, even in recap. I didn't think there was much wrong with the show, and I'll continue reading for sure. 7/10.
Judgement Day Predictions
World Heavyweight Championship Three-Way Dance:
Randy Orton (c) vs. JBL vs. The Undertaker
Grudge Match:
Batista vs. Booker T
United States Championship Match
Matt Hardy (c) vs. Finlay
Grudge Match:

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:

Re: PatMan Presents: WWE 2006 Revisited
SmackDown! Feedback
Boo and hiss at this being recapped, Pat; especially when you have Kennedy opening the show. Rey and KK started off on fire but has cooled off to feel like a bit of a mid-card match, rather than an upper-mid-card bout like it should be. Standard banter between the twp really, but the mere fact that these two got to open the show gives this match a lot of hype going into the PPV, where, I hope, Kennedy will go over Mysterio clean as a fucking whistle.
Jordan still getting a semi-push it seems? Most people just use him as a glorified {ex-U.S Champ} jobber, but you do that as well as give him some wins. He owns Bob Holly though, so that's okay. What is going on with The Hooligans/Bashams; do they have a match or what?
It was big last week when Kash got the win over Rey; big for him and the CW division. It would be even bigger if Noble beat Kennedy tonight. I can see it happening if Ken goes over this Sunday, but maybe not if you really mark for the guy.
What the hell is up with The Mexicools? When did they become perverts? Lol @ them. I hope the jumping by MNM doesn't means you're taking the belts off them this Sunday, because that would be terrible considering who they're facing. No thank you.
POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUNCE~!!! He owns. 'Nuff said.
Weird that JBL doesn't want an alliance going into the Three-Way. He is the type of guy to use it to his advantage at the PPV and then turn on his partner. I guess 'Taker forced his hand last week though. No way is this all we're getting from him tonight though. He'll be back.
NOBLE BEAT KENNEDY~!!! Oh shit, I didn't think you'd actually do it, Pat. Yay for one man I mark for in Noble {big push plz} but boo for the legendary Kennedy, as it takes him a step back from being the World Championship contender he should be. I guess this confirms he'll be owning the midget this Sunday, and with that post-match attack too, Noble will be retaining. All is well then.
Tension between Big Dave and Matt it seems. Decent tag match too, though it's a bit of a let down that this is all the hype we got for the semi-main event match between Booker and 'Tista; whilst Hardy/Finlay got more exposure it seems with another shillelagh attack to Mattitude. He goes over me thinks.
Lmao @ Hardcore Holly on a PPV. Job to OJ plz.
I knew old John Bradshaw Layfield wasn't done for the evening. No, sir. Lame main event seeming how good it could have been. The aftermath was very cool though, first with 'Taker freaking the shit out of Orton {you'd think he'd be used to it by now}, and then The Cabinet owning them both. Looks like Mr. Layfield will be eliminated first this Sunday then {by 'Taker}, before Randy beats The Deadman in the last fall to retain. Sounds quality though.
