Re: WWE | -TR™- Takes Charge

WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
FRIDAY 9TH MAY, 2008
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI

Friday Night SmackDown begins with a video recap of last week's edition of SmackDown, primarily featuring The Undertaker defeating Kane in a Title Unification Match, and The Big Show making his intentions clear, confronting The Undertaker.
"Rise Up"
The SmackDown Video Package plays, afterwards the camera pans the packed- out Savvis Center, as the pyrotechnics explode from the SmackDown HD Set.
"Crank It Up"
Pop, as The Big Show emrges from a pyro, and walks down the rampway, entering the ring and receiving a microphone from Justin Roberts.
The Big Show: Last week, on SmackDown, I made my intentions very clear to everybody. If you didn't realise what I was trying to get across, then I'm going to cut to the chase - I want the World Heavyweight Championship, and I'm going to do anything neccessary to achieve that.
Good reaction for The Big Show, and the camera focuses on a sign in the audience, stating "World's Largest Future World Heavyweight Champion."
The Big Show: The Undertaker, I bear no grudges against you, but right now, you're in a bad situation, because you are standing between me and the World Heavyweight Championship. I know you can see me, and I know that you can hear me. So, you, Undertaker, know very well what I want. Every time you look around, I'm gonna be there, waiting for my oppurtunity to take your World Heavyweight Championship. Being the fighting Champion I know you are, you won't refuse my request. Undertaker, I am officially challenging you for the World Heavyweight Championship!
Huge pop at The Big Show's challenge.
The Big Show: Anybody in the back who considers themself a worthy challenger, step aside, because the vacancy has now been filled. I've bided my time, and I'm ready to make the step up. Nobody will dare get in my way, and-
"Metalingus"
Major heat, and The Rated-R Superstar, Edge, emerges from a smoke pyro, staring a hole through The Big Show. Edge strides towards the ring, and immediately confronts The Big Show upon entering.
Edge: I was involved in other issues last week on SmackDown, but I must have missed something quite significant here. Less than two weeks ago, I was the only valid challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship. Next thing I know, my position has been taken by a big buffoon.
Cheap heat for Edge.
Edge: Big Show, it's been barely three months since you made your return to the WWE, and you are egotistical enough to consider youself a worthy challenger for the most prestigious prize on Friday Night SmackDown? Big Show, I withstood 4 months of rigorous rehabilitation to return when I was at the prime of my illustrious career, and now, I'm not even mentioned in the title picture? Quite honestly, I find this
unbelievable, and I find this diabolical.
More heat for Edge, and The Ultimate Oppurtunist's remarks provokes chants of "You Suck!"
The Big Show: You know what I find unbelievable, Edge? Being told that I'm egotistical by the WWE Superstar who was so desperate to get back in the World Heavyweight Championship picture, that he slept with the SmackDown General Manager.
Mixture of cheers and laughter, as Edge clenches his fists.
Edge: Big Show, you have no idea whatsoever of the love that Vickie Guerrero and I share. Besides, you wouldn't know anything about romance, due to how unappealing you are. You know what, I know what's behind your actions. You're jealous of me and my accomplishments, aren't you? Quite frankly, I can't blame you, man. Finally, you have something in common with the rest of the guys in the back.
Massive heat for Edge, and The Big Show smirks.
The Big Show: Edge, I know you're trying to diminish my credibility, but it's not gonna work. I've made my challenge, and I'm gonna stand by it. I'm not going to let an over-confident guy like you get in my way, so I'm going to become the World Heavyweight Champion sooner or later, and you can't do anything about it whatsoever.
Edge: Oh, can't I?
Edge clicks his fingers, and Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder and Chavo Guerrero jump over a security wall, rushing into the ring and assaulting The Big Show. After a lengthy assault, The Rated-R Entourage hold The Big Show up, and Edge is about to pull the trigger on the spear, when the lights go out, and the familiar gong tolls. Moments later, the lights come back on, and The Undertaker is standing in front of Edge! Edge immediately flees, as do Chavo Guerrero and The Rated-R Entourage, until only The Undertaker and The Big Show remain in the ring, with The Big Show getting to his feet. The Undertaker stares at The Big Show menacingly, as the screen fades.
The camera switches backstage, where Chavo Guerrero is taping his wrists in his locker room, with Bam Neely looking over. Montel Vontavious Porter walks in, looking very focused. Bam Neely steps forward, and M.V.P signals for Bam Neely to calm down.
M.V.P: Yo, Chavo. Look man, we've got our Tag Team match against Kane and Matt Hardy later tonight, and I just wanna make sure we see eye-to-eye, know what I'm sayin'?
Chavo Guerrero: Look Montel, you don't need to worry about a thing. I haven't got a problem with teaming with you tonight, I'm looking forward to it, as a matter of fact. We've both had problems with Kane, I still do, and you've got issues with Matt Hardy. As long as we're both looking to achieve the same goal, everything's gonna go smoothly, esse.
M.V.P: You know, that's great, dog. Matt Hardy and Kane, they don't know what's coming to them tonight. It's great that-
M.V.P pauses, as the United States Champion, Matt Hardy, walks in beaming, to a huge pop, in deep contrast to the emotions of M.V.P and Chavo Guerrero.
Matt Hardy: Look, guys, I haven't got a problem with you two seeing eye-to-eye, but I can say the same for me and Kane. You two better not forget that Kane and I have both got the better of both of you before, and nothing's gonna be any different tonight.
Pop for Matt Hardy.
Matt Hardy: Montel, you better not forget that I beat you at Backlash, and-
M.V.P: Yeah, I know, and it was nothing but a fluke.
Heat for the former United States Champion.
M.V.P: I ALSO believe that last week, I left you in the ring flat on your back! Remember that, Matt? Although, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you don't.
More heat for M.V.P, and Matt Hardy smirks.
Matt Hardy: Oh yeah, I do remember, M.V.P, and I won't forget it. Whatever I do to you later tonight, you and I can classify it as a little payback.
Good reaction for Matt Hardy, and the United States Champion exits the picture, leaving M.V.P and Chavo Guerrero disgusted.

Shawn Michaels walks past almost the entire roster, who look on with an expression of jealousy. Shawn Michaels is about to enter a locker room, when Lena Yada comes running up to HBK, with a microphone.
Lena Yada: Shawn Michaels, later on tonight, you will sign a contract to sign on as an official SmackDown Superstar. Shawn, why are you signing?
Shawn Michaels: Well, Lena, my decision is all down to one man, and that's Batista.
Heat at mention of Batista.
Shawn Michaels: Everybody else has coped with Ric Flair's retirement, and everybody has forgiven me, and they have understood my reasons for what I did. But not Batista. There's a lot more guys in the back that have known Ric Flair for longer than Dave Batista, and if they can handle Ric not being around, then he can. Dave, I've tried to beat some sense into you, but you've haven't quite got the message yet, have you? I'm going to be wherever you are, until you can finally handle not having Naitch around. You provoked me to come here, Dave, and here I am, on Friday Night SmackDown.
Lena Yada: Shawn Michaels, this past Monday on Raw, you challenged Batista to a last man standing match at Judgment Day. Have you stood by your words this week?
Shawn Michaels: When I challenged Batista to a last man standing match, I damn well meant it. What I said, and did, on Raw, it was a promise. On Monday, I got just a small amount of the redemption I will get at your expense, and the process will be complete at Judgment Day, when I'm the last......man......standing.
Big pop for HBK, and Shawn Michaels walks away, as the camera switches back to the Savvis Center.

Edge: Vickie, baby, you saw what happened earlier. The Big Show's gonna do whatever it takes to anialate me tonight, whenever, wherever. What am I gonna do? Chavo's got a match, Curt and Zak have got a WWE Tag Team Championship match, there's nobody in the Familia to back me up tonight.
Vickie Guerrero: Don't worry, baby, I've got it all covered for you.
Edge: I couldn't thank you enough, Vickie-kins. What's your plan?
Vickie Guerrero: Edge, I've discussed the possibilities with Teddy, and I've thought of an ideal main-event tonight, involving you, baby. It's going to be The Big Show and The Undertaker versus Edge......

Edge: That sounds good to me, Vickie-kins. How can I ever repay you?
Vickie Guerrero: I think you know......
Edge: Oh, I know.
Edge kneels down, and closes in on Vickie Guerrero. Edge and Vickie Guerrero share a kiss which gets out of hand, and there's no holding back, as SmackDown heads into a commercial break.

Edge: You'll do it? Seriously? Don't worry, if you're getting ready for Raw this Monday, then you don't have to come tonight. Are you sure? Thanks man, I owe you one, big time. Okay, see you out there. Bye.
Edge hangs up his cell phone.

Eve Torres: Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to my guest at this time......The Rated-R Superstar, Edge!
The brief moments of silence are abruptly broken, as Edge walks in with a jubilant expression on his face, getting tons of heat.
Eve Torres: Edge, in just moments, you step into the ring with The Big Show, The Undertaker and one partner of their choice, to face you and two partners of your choosing. Edge, can you give us any hints on who your partners are going to be?
Edge: You know, Eve, I would love to......
Eve Torres: So......
Edge: But I'm not gonna. Why? Because these people don't deserve to know. These people have given me nothing, so why should I give anything in return? Look, the fact of the matter is, I'm not dropping any kind of "hints" whatsoever. When it comes down to the point, the Rated-R Superstar always has all the tricks up his sleeve, and nothing's gonna change tonight. That's how I've made my career. Three of my four World Title reigns, I've pulled out all the stops in my favour, when I cash in the surprise factor. That's just my personality. I don't give a damn who The Undertaker and The Big Show have lined up, because the only thing that matters is me, and my plans, and that's the way it should be. At the end of tonight, these half-witted people will be standing on their feet, coming to their senses, and showing their appreciation for The Rated-R Superstar.
Major heat for Edge.
Edge: Although I am in St. Louis, Missouri, so I better not keep my hopes high.
More chep heat for The Rated-R Superstar.
Edge: After tonight, everybody will know my intentions, and I will let them be known loud and clear. You know how the saying goes, actions speak louder than words.
Heat, as Edge walks out of the scene, as SmackDown heads into a commercial break.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Friday Night SmackDown returns, with the Raw Rebound. The Raw Rebound includes highlights primarily of the rivalry between WWE Champion Triple H, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton, with highlights of the opening segment, William Regal announcing Chris Jericho versus Umaga, Chris Jericho defeating Umaga via disqualification, and William Regal announcing a WWE Championship triple-threat match at Judgment Day with John Cena as special guest referee.
The camera switches to the Savvis Center, where the ring is adorned with a red carpet, and a table situated in the center of the squared circle, a contract and pen resting on top. SmackDown assistant General Manager Theodore Long is standing by the table, a microphone in hand.
Theodore Long: Alright, playas, now's the moment. You are all about to witness Shawn Michaels sign an exclusive contract with Friday Night SmackDown!
Great response from the St. Louis audience.
Theodore Long: Now, I'm a very busy man, so I ain't got all night for this. So Shawn Michaels, come on down!
"Sexy Boy"
The St. Louis fans rise to their feet and go wild, as Shawn Michaels emerges from the back, and walks down the aisle to the delight of the audience. HBK enters the ring, shaking hands with Theodore Long and receiving a microphone.
Theodore Long: Okay, Shawn, it's now or never. This contract fulfills every single one of your requirements, so all you have to do is sign. Any words before you officially become a SmackDown Superstar?
Shawn Michaels: I sure do, Teddy, and what I'm about to say is directed towards you, Dave Batista. I know you're back there, livid that you're taking a backseat to HBK, so you can hear me. Dave, I'm not coming to SmackDown for the money for the fame, and I'm not coming for the money. I'm coming to SmackDown, so I can beat some sense into your thoughtless, careless head. I hope you watch closely as I sign this very contract that is right in front of me, because this event is only the beginning of your future.
Shawn Michaels lays his microphone on the table, to a faint pop.
Theodore Long: Well, thank you for those words, Shawn. Now, could you please sign the contract, so we can finalise the deal?
Shawn Michaels: Sure thing, Teddy, this is what I've been waiting for.
Shawn Michaels picks up the pen, and signs the SmackDown contract, to a huge pop. Shawn Michaels smirks at the audience, when......
"I Walk Alone"
Heat, as The Animal Batista, wearing casual gear and shades, heads down the rampway, looking disgruntled. Batista grabs Theodore Long's microphone from Long's grasps, and removes his shades at the sight of Shawn Michaels.
Batista: Everything that you just said, Shawn, was total bulls**t. I have never heard so much crap come from somebody's mouth in a long time.
Major heat for Batista.
Batista: You're only here so you can overshadow me, aren't you? You're afraid to admit that it's you, not me, who's taking a backseat right now between the two of us. What kind of publicity stunt is this, Shawn? This is a new low, even for you, Shawn Michaels. The first oppurtunity I get, I'm gonna kick your ass so badly, you'll wish you didn't come here, and you'll be packing your bags straight away. Right here, right now, is one of the best oppurtunities I'm gonna get to do so, so you better stand your ground, Shawn. There's nobody to save you over here on SmackDown. There's no Triple H, there's no, dare I say, Ric Flair, which is all thanks to you, so you're alone in the doghouse, right in front of the guy who's gonna anialate you whenever he wants.
Tons of heat for Batista.
Shawn Michaels: I'm in the doghouse? If anybody's in the doghouse, then it's you, Dave. I've got the upper hand between the two of us, Dave, so you're at a blatant disadvantage. I've been in this business a lot longer than you have, Dave, so-
Batista: And that's exactly why I'm the better man right now, Shawn! I remember that you challenged me to a match at Judgment Day - A Last Man Standing match. And that's partially why I'm out here, but that's completely why I'm out here now, as I couldn't put a stop to this total fiasco.
More heat for The Animal.
Batista: So Shawn, I wanna let you know that I accept your challenge to a Last Man Standing match at Judgment Day!
Big pop at Batista accepting HBK's challenge.
Batista: Shawn, this is the beginning of the end for you, because from this point onwards, I am gonna do whatever it possibly takes to make your unfulfilling life a living hell.
Big heat for Batista, and Batista looks round the Savvis Center.
Batista: And you know what, Shawn? I think I'll start now!
Batista drops the microphone, crashing to the canvas with a thud. Batista suddenly kicks Shawn Michaels in the mid-section, and Batista bombs Shawn Michaels through the table!
Batista: See you at Judgment Day.
"I Walk Alone"
Batista leaves the ring to tons of heat, as Shawn Michaels lies over the broken table, unconscious.
The camera switches backstage, where Edge is walking down a corridor. Footsteps are heard behind Edge, and a shadow can be seen.
Edge: Okay, this is it. You guys ready?
???: Yeah, I'm ready.

Melvisboy's Review
Melvisboy's SmackDown Review
Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship... Awesome. Great to see that he definitely is going for the Championship, as he showed last week. Nice promo, I could really imagine this happening on my TV screen. Well done, 9/10.
Chavo, two promos in a row, and no break. By taping his wrists, it made it look like he had been in his changing room for a while, too. Not very realistic, but mostly, the speech was good. Matt Hardy was a bit off, but he's always hard to write for. Ok promo, 6/10.
Tag Team Match was good, lots of near falls, very realistic. I would expect Moore and Wang Yang to win, mainly because D 'n' D... well, they're rubbish. No Cherry supporting Moore and Wang Yang? Doesn't matter. Good match, 8/10.
Nice, realistic HBK promo. Builds up well to his contract signing later. HBK sort of assumes that Batista will accept his challenge, but then again, everyone would assume that. Anyway, good promo. 9/10.
Good diva match, if Natalya was going to win, it would be with the Sharpshooter. Natalya's streak keeps going, but for how long? Anyway, good match, 8/10.
Great ME announced, and I can definitely imagine the snog-fest at the end. Very realistic promo, cannot wait for the partners that everyone will choose. 10/10.
Miz/Morrison keep the titles, which means more cocky Dirt Sheet. Goody! Anyway, much rather them as Champs than Hawkins and Ryder, and that lowers the momentum of the 'familia' heading into Judgement Day. Nice match, 8/10.
Short and sweet Edge promo, made me think 'Orton'. Still, made me wonder. 8/10.
Great Tag match, really interesting participants, and a great finish. Good to see Kane win heading into Judgement Day, builds his momentum and further drops that of Chavo, and the 'familia' as a whole. Good match, 9/10.
Wow. Don't mess with Edge. He really insulted the whole crowd and bragged about himself. Really wants you want to kill the Rated R Superstar. Great writing, well done, and great suspense, well done. | |
