Re: BTB Discussion Thread - May 2008
I don't like it one bit. i think you should have both of them Championships defended at Wrestlemania. I mean Wrestlemania is the biggest pay-per-view in wrestling, and well the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship are the two biggest Championships in wrestling.
Kind of goes without saying in my opinion.

If you've got the right match, go for it. I thought Hogan-Rock should've headlined Mania 18, and Flair/Michaels Mania 24, quite frankly.

A shame too as Flair/Michaels would have been a perfect Main Event as it turned out. Just a shame Ric Flair is the greatest wrestler and man alive today.

Re: BTB Discussion Thread - May 2008
It really depends on the match. If it's a VERY high profile match, and is being built above the title matches in terms of how much is going into it, then it can be pulled off. With that said, usually title matches are put over 'high profile' matches anyway.

Re: BTB Discussion Thread - May 2008
Well, what you could do is the HIGH PROFILE match before the Championship match in which the face will win, and after the Championship match in which the Heel wins. It can work, seeing as WWE usually does it that way at WM anyway (this year's, for example)
If the faces win both Championship matches, place the high profile match BEFORE the Royal Rumble Winner's match instead, then. If both Heels retain, well, fuck it. Do what you want.

I agree with Hogan/Rock, that should have headlined the event, but am on the fence with Flair/Michaels, as whilst it was a great match and moment, I'm not sure if its build and their status upon the shows prior to event helped it seem as important as the major title matches.
In essence though, I'm all for big non-title matches headlining Mania or other major PPV's if they are built as such or are of that high grandeur.
An example for me would be for next years real life Mania main event, as if Austin and Hogan came to some agreement on they're long talked about match, then I'd likely want that to finish the show over the major title matches. Of course thats unless the major title matches have Taker vs HHH/Cena or something nearly as big.
I think having tunnel vision on what should or shouldn't happen in real life or BTB booking, leads to missed opportunities of creating really spine tingling special moments, something Flair/Michaels did more than title matches and would have been even more special had it been the ending to show. So in truth I'm actually more on the side of the fence that agrees with Flair/Michaels main eventing Mania this year. See changing opinion or mindset should be considered, as sometimes doing things differently is better/can work.
p.s. Having just re-read some 10 odd pages of BTB discussion, I'm glad I voted this thread a big 1 star during the monthly repeated wrestler death rule debate, as some of the posts deserved such, that and the constant pathetic advice questions, crikey some peeps need to think before posting, that or grow some bigger VKM sized grapefruits (currently some seem to be working with grape sized ones ). And I'm done.

You're freakin' welcome. Btw, you're right. Szmui does have grape-sized grapefruits.
Where do you fools stand on the subject of segments like Piper's Pit, the Peeps Show, Carlito's Cabana... seems to me like in the real WWE, it's gotten sour lately. Honestly. What advice would you give to someone whose doing a segment like that.

Lol at your stab at Szum. So uncalled for.
Anyways, as for your question, I'd have fresh guests each week. Involve other feuds into the segment, mix it up. The more mixing, the more excitement, if you ask me.

Re: BTB Discussion Thread - May 2008
I really love these type of segments. Adds to the entertainment, of course only if it's booked right. It's a nice little way of adding hype to a certain feud.
Also Youngbloodchampion, why do you act like a 'heel' on WF?
