Smackdown Review For Lashley By Kanefan4E
First thing's first. I don't really like the fact that the opening video was based on just the Matt Hardy/Montel Vontavious United States Championship feud. I mean if I was you here, I would have had the video based on the main feud for the World Heavyweight Championship. However it did get the US Title feud a little bit more over in my eyes so I can't complain that much. MVP and CHavo taking on Matt Hardy is a good move, but surely Hardy can't get out of this one with a victory.
The face divas picking up the win is a must to get the fans pumped I guess for the rest of the show. A nice little diva match and it's always good to see the divas start the show. I'm not so sure if you have any diva feuds going on at the moment on your Smackdown brand, but if you haven't I suggest you start one immediately
The Matt Hardy interview was just more hype for the handicapped match later tonight. I can see a swerve happening before the match maybe. otherwise I don;t see a way out for Hardy. I'll have to wait and see I suppose.
I didn't know if the whole Kenny Dykstra reference was a joke or not. But if it was I didn't really find it funny, probably because I didn't get it lol. Have I missed something here? Anyway this sets up a nice match between Kofi Kingston and Jamie Noble. One that I wouldn't actually mind seeing in real life if I'm honest. You kept Edge and Vickie strong too in this segment which was a must in al honesty. The match itself was very good I must say so. You're certainly improving with the matches even if they are a little short. It's great that you gave the match almost ten minutes, credit for thatLashley. Overall it was a good match with a good outcome. Noble is nothing but a comedic jobber in the WWE now anyways.
Backlash hype video. Meh nothing much to say apart from I'm really looking forward to Backlash. The draft video however really did catch my attention. This seems to be a very special occasion for the WWE and I'm really looking forward to it. Nice job in keeping me and other readers hooked for that. I would have liked you to specify more when the announcers were running down the Backlash card. You could have put who was in the matches.
Edge looking for Teddy Long is certainly interesting, and I'm intrigued to see why he is looking for him. Or what he has to say.
I'm a total mark when it comes to Chuck Palumbo. So give him a god damn push soon plz
Nah but in all seriousness I think when used right he can be very entertaining. With that aside, it was a decent squash-ish match. It served it's purpose anyway.
Again the whole Edge thing is really interesting and I still can't wait to see what he will exactly do himself.
although the line about no one watching ECW was funny. I really don't think Vince would allow that, considering they have ECW hype videos on Smackdown. I also noticed a mistake. You put Chavo instead of Matt if I'm not mistaken. No big deal though. The match again was great and I stand by my word, your matches are deffo improving. Kane coming up through the ring though was a bit too much like the attitude era for me. I would have prefered him to come from the stage, or even the crowd, but meh. Nice win for Matt Hardy, and you kept MVP and CHavo looking kind of strong with the interference. However if Kane interfered wouldn't the match be stopped due to a disqualification? Oh no my bad, MVP wasn't the legal man so that should be okay.
A nice little segment here with Edge. Undertaker running the gauntlet eh, that sounds good, espeially for a TV main event. Looking forward to how that one pans out. I love the mind games by The Undertaker too. Nice touch.
ECW Rewind was just, well there I guess.
Benjamin and Burke was a team that I tried to make work in one of my threads. However you seem to be doing a better job than me as I tried to make things too complicated. But you're booking them simple which in the long run makes it very effective. A nice win too.
Lol classic Edge making a shit situation shitter for poor old Ryder and Hawkins. I think Edge will either screw Taker out of the gauntlet match, or Taker will win clean.
Hawkins and Ryder got jobbed out, that was kinda cool. Hell yeah Dykstra getting more than five minutes with The Deadman is awesome. Great job there even if it isn't all that logical. Wasn't Finlay a face after Wrestlemania 24? If that's the case why is he heel tonight? Anyway Undertaker wins again. However this match seems to be going an extremely long time for a TV main event. Hell 18:44, that's longer than some PPV matches. I think this was way too long, some might disagree though so I guess the saying 'different strokes for different folks' works well here.
With all that out of the way it was a bloody good read. And I agree with it being your best show yet. Nice job building up to Backlash and I really can't wait to read that. Again good show Lashley.
