Default Re: WWE 2005: A Fresh, New Start

SmackDown Feedback

Undertaker vs. OJ is kind of a weak main event. OJ is nowhere near Taker's level but I guess it makes sense since he's feuding with JBL and all. Cena vs. Angle Alliance also seems like another match solely based on build. I like good buildup but this show seems weak from the get go. I liked the promo that started the show. Some justification for the booking of the NWO match was good. Cena escaping makes him seem like a heel but this is Japan afterall so Angle might have a slightly bigger fanbase, I don't know

Seems like a squash tag match to me. The aftermath was obviously the bigger part of the show. You need atleast one hot match on a SmackDown, especially when it's in Japan and so far nothing seems to crack that barrier. The aftermath was brilliant though. With it being Dudleyz, Rey and RVD I see a TLC match coming. I would prefer a tables match and save the TLC for a bigger match. @ underlooked. I didn't like the way that Matt vs. Haas was setup for No Way Out. Matt is better than Haas anyway

A surprise from Carlito? The Cabana would be ideal for this job imo. Again, this was another setup for something to come. Funaki was nowhere near the jobber status that he is in now. London picking the victory over Funaki should put him in the contender's spot but again, if so it's another weak way to setup a match. Now if Funaki asked for the rematch, then it would be better

Imagine the heat Carlito would've gotten if he had spoken in spanish. The guest referee stipulation is a good way to push all invovled in the match if done correctly. Surprised that there wasn't more heat between Shawn and Eddie. This feud really does have to get more personal but since it's the early stage, this is quite good. A side angle to an angle isn't used as much as it should be. I'm sure Michaels will call the match down the middle next week...and at NWO

It would've made more sense for Angle to attack after Cena got the pinfall victory unless you plan to push the Angle Alliance guys to top stardom. Angle run in again this week was a good throwback but if it happens again, that will be the theme of the entire rivalry and trust me that's not good. I'm sure the hype up promo would've been quite awesome. Nothing more to say

Yeah, diva match. What was the cabinet doing since they got out of their locker until they were heading to the ring?

It took Undertaker 11 minutes to beat OJ? Too many run ins for one show imo. But the aftermath was brilliant and I hope JBL walks into NWO without the official belt. Set something up pls. But it would've been deadly for the lightning to strike JBL's shoulder. Not very realistic but you're writing with Undertaker, so all's a given. No Booker run in confuses me

The show seemed a little weak although the writing was quite good. RAW was better. WrestleMania looks okay escept for the Interpromotional match, which looks amazing

SmackDown! Feedback

Decent way to open the show with some hype for the semi-Main Event, Angle/Cena. The Japanese fans usually love Kurt if I remeber correctly, due to his pure wrestling background and all that. This match did happen in reality at No Way Out with Cena inevitably going over, so from the stand point you haven't really made a great deal of effort to be original. Brawl was okay I guess, though I'm not looking forward to seeing Jindrak and Reigns get buried later. One burial {Orlando} is enough for one night in my opinion.

Never really been a fan of the Dudleys since about 2002 I think, so seeing them still dominating the tag team world in WWE in '05 is a bit bland. So you've reunited RVD and Rey Rey it seems? Meh. I prefer them both as singles stars personally. This had the look of Rey and Van Dam as heels, but I can almost guarantee that isn't the case right?

Glad you decided to bring Matt Hardy back in a different way than they did it in reality, as that would have been pretty pointless. Shame that Haas is the one who's going to be getting fed to Matt to boost Hardy's credibility. Charlie can be fairly awesome when pushed right.

Not sure what 'Lito has in store for Eddie later tonight. Hopefully this high profile feud with Latino Heat helps get Carly somewhere fast, despite the fact that he will probably job at NWO.

Uh, 'Naki's already wrestled, rt? Funaki actually lasting nine minutes? No way. London > him though, so title soon plz.

Pretty weird stipulation for the match at NWO, with Michaels as Guest Referee. Maybe now Carlito might actually get a very, VERY cheap win somehow, thanks to HBK. So Michaels is a full heel now? Nice. Him and Eddie work brilliantly as villains, so one of them had to turn.

Well, Cena did kill most of the Alliance, but at least he didn't completely bury them with a pin fall or submission loss. No real surprise to see Angle gaining the upper hand in this feud, as he will almost certainly be losing at NWO.

Not sure how I feel about the Barbed Wire Steel Cage stipulation at all. It's just TOO similar to real life I think. Same PPV. Same Champ. Obviously it will be a better match though.

Ugh, Torrie and Michelle do not = ratings.

I actually quite like Orlando, so glad he lasted so long against Taker. He obviously needs the credibility for his match with Booker T at NWO. Typical Taker mind games afterwards, though he is of course losing at NWO ... or he definitely should do. It needs to be brought up more that JBL and Taker have faced one another three times before and this is like a feud culmination almost. JBL 4 and 0 against the Deadman is rather awesome for Bradshaw.

Overall a solid recapped show, JBL, with a couple of nice Main Event angles playing out. Still on the fence with the Anle/Cena and Barbed Wire Steel Cage re-uses, but I guess that's just me. Nice job.

Wink Re: WWE 2005: A Fresh, New Start

Right starting off with hyping the main events for tonight. Cena vs Angle Alliance makes sense but I don’t see it ending in a way a normal Handicap match would and infact see a surprise round the corner don’t know what. Taker vs OJ. This is a poor main event but I suppose if you are going to give OJ some Air Time then I suppose that putting him in a match with a person of undertakers calibre is perfectly alright.

First promo of the night. Angle receiving the reaction is ok as I suppose angle is a well liked wrestler in Japan . Claming that he is the rightful contender is a good way of twisting it and is a typical heelish phrase. Cena coming out to a Face reception is something I didn’t expect although I suppose the Japanese audience can support both Heel and Face. Cena goes on the typical rant yes we have hear it all before. Running away is something I didn’t like from cena at the end as that is something you would expect angle to do not cena. A bit heelish there but overall a nice way to kick of the show.

Dudleyz > Funkai and S2H is something I expect all the time. Rey and Rob hitting the ring this week taking out the Dudleyz is only adding on the fuel to the already burning flame. Looks like this is heading towards a match at No Way Out even WM21 if you can make it that interesting. Anyway moving onto matt hardy it is nice to see Hardy back in the WWE after a long absence. That was only fair last week to let Hass job. The match at No Way Out should be good between the two. I see Hardy going over.

OK a surprise for Eddie for his and Carlito’s match. Something makes me thinks that HBK is involved somehow someway. You are giving some Air Time to Funkai tonight. He has already been a jobber once now once again he is a jobber jobbing to Paul London. That cannot be good for Funaki’s Credibility. Special Referee HBK between Carlito/Eddie. Somehow I think he will call it down the middle but next week I don’t think he will because HBK is good at playing them mind games.

Kind of knew that this match was going to end fairly. Angle gaining momentum is only a sure sign that he is going to Loose at No Way Out. Typical briefing their from JBL. Take out the opponent so I can win the match. Somehow I don’t see that happening and infact more mind games will be played I reckon. WOW a Diva Match. Well I knew that OJ would be jobbing tonight. Anyway nice way to end Smackdown with the lighting bolt onto the WWE Championship. All these mind games and momentum makes me think that JBL will be the one walking out of No Way Out with the WWE Championship. Overall another good smackdown. It can only get better as we head towards Wresltemania and No Way Out.

Default Re: WWE 2005: A Fresh, New Start

February 10th Smackdown Recap Review:

Cena vs. Reigns/Jindrak and OJ vs. ‘Taker are two lackluster matches … hope the rest of the shows make up for it.

Angle explaining that the Board gave him the chance to get the main event spot from Cena makes the attack last week make sense. Good back and forth between both men and Cena escaping from the AA is good because he still has to face them later tonight. Angle may attack Cena again but I doubt it.

Dudleyz beating Funaki and Scotty is expected so I am glad to see that you kept the match short. The feud between Rey/RVD and the Dudleyz isn’t voer and I’m glad that Rey and RVD are being aggressive. Tables match at NWO plz.

Matt Hardy should be pretty awesome on Smackdown and Haas interrupting is a pretty good starter feud for Hardy. I hope that you give both men a push … and Hardy should be in MITB at WM21. Nice burn from Haas and I look forward to the match at NWO … should be a goodie, imo.

Carlito has a surprise for Eddie in their match at NWO?? I wonder what that could be…

Funaki in two matches?? Another obvious mistake … like the Flair blunder on Raw. At least Funaki didn’t win … I guess you just hate him so much that having him job twice in one show is your way of taking out anger. Regardless, I like this little push that London has been getting as CW Champ. Keep it up plz.

Carlito insulting the fans … especially in Japan … equals ratings, imo. And the special referee is … HBK!! I kinda assumed this because of the feud going on between Eddie and Shawn. HBK being the ref in Eddie’s match next week should be good … but I still don’t trust that HBK will call the match down the middle. Intriguing to say the least.

Cena wasn’t going to lose to the AA and just as he comes back … Angle causes the DQ!! Need something to make this feud a little better and I hope you do that next week. Maybe Cena will lose his US Title next week … with Angle being the cause.

Classic JBL conspiring but if I were a betting man … I’d say ‘Taker is heading to NWO stronger than ever. No way that OJ is getting the win tonight.

Nice way to get the divas on the show … but as Legend said … just a filler that give many people a bathroom break.

No surprise that ‘Taker beat JBL’s right hand man … but glad that the match wasn’t a complete squash. ‘Taker playing mind games always = ratings … and the lightning bolt onto the WWE Title was pretty awesome. JBL is scared out of his mind … but he will still win the match at NWO.

Another solid recap, JBL. I can just tell that you want to get to the home stretch before WM21 and that is why your shows aren’t as good as they can be. Just keep up the solid work, 8/10.

Much apologies for not returning reviews. I haven't had a lot of time lately to do so, summer's really hitting me hard. I'm gonna do my best to get them all returned today, as I'm not doing much with my life today. So again, much apologies. But here's the next RAW:
________________________________

Monday Night RAW; February 14th; Cincinnati, Ohio

The show opens with a video recap of the major events stemming from last week, beginning with Batista winning by disqualification thanks to Triple H. It then shows the fall out of the match where Ric Flair quit on Triple H ending the era of Evolution. Triple H’s match with Shelton Benjamin is then shown, and shows The Game winning setting up tonight’s match against Batista in the finals of the Road to WrestleMania Tournament. Finally, the package culminates with Randy Orton defeating Edge to retain his World Heavyweight Championship.

The opening video for Monday Night RAW plays with “Across the Nation” by The Union Underground in the background. Following it, we jet inside the U.S. Bank Arena where pyro and fireworks rock the stage, and after we fly across the arena seeing the fans on their feet who are excitedly ready for tonight’s show to begin.

Jim Ross: We welcome you ladies and gentlemen, to a sold out U.S. Bank Arena, for an historic edition of Monday Night RAW!! We are live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and what a show we have for you. Hello everyone I’m Jim Ross along with my esteemed broadcast partner Jerry “The King” Lawler, and King this may be the most explosive edition of Monday Night RAW, in a long, long time.

Jerry Lawler: You aren’t kidding JR!! The Road to WrestleMania 21 Tournament FINALLY concludes tonight – and what a match that’s going to be!!

Jim Ross: You’re right about that King ladies and gentlemen tonight, in the Road to WrestleMania Tournament Final Match, Batista, ‘The Animal’ will take on his former mentor, Triple H with the winner going to WrestleMania and the main event. And King with the history between these two men, and how they’ve interacted the past few weeks, no doubt this one should be a hell of a slobberknocker.

Jerry Lawler: I couldn’t agree with you more JR. And we might have some explosions right now in the ring, because it’s time for the Highlight Reel!!

*5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 … BOOM!*

*Break the Walls Down* Chris Jericho heads down the ramp receiving a bit of a mixed reaction despite displaying heel qualities to his character as of late. Jericho isn’t dressed in wrestling gear, but is instead in casual attire, as he seems to also be growing a bit of a beard. Jericho is ready to host what should be a very explosive Highlight Reel and one that could produce some grand, grand spectacles.

Chris Jericho: WELCOME TOOOOOO … RAWWWWWW … ISSSSSSSSS … JERICHOOOOOOO!!!!

Cheers and boos.

Chris Jericho: And this!! Is the Highhhhlighttt Reeeeel!

PYRO shoots off of each ring post, as Jericho smiles as he walks around the ring.

Chris Jericho: And just like every other episode, of the Highlight Reel, tonight will be filled with excitement, surprises, and maybe a few cold ones here and there. (Cheers) Because TONIGHT, marks the return, of a man whom we haven’t seen in almost a full calendar year.

More cheers, as ‘Austin’ chants arise.

Chris Jericho: This man, is notorious for running amok just a few years ago around this place. In fact some would say, that he was the toughest son of a bitch to ever step foot in the squared circle. (More cheers) And this man, trusts absolutely nobody … so it is a wonder to me how he even accepted my invite to attend this broadcast. But without further ado, ladies and gentlemen Jerichoholics of all ages, would you please welcome my guest. He is the ‘Texas Rattlesnake,’ a former six-time WWE Champion, ladies and gentlemen … ‘STONE COLD,’ STEVE AUSTIN!!!

*GLASS SHATTERS*

**I Don’t Do What You Tell Me** THE CROWD BECOMES UNGLUED, AS THE BIONIC REDNECK MAKES HIS WAY OUT INTO THE ARENA!! ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin makes his first appearance on WWE television in nearly a year, and he doesn’t stop for too long to look at the fans. He does the BMF walk down to the ring, and brushes past Chris Jericho once inside, and heads to all four corners, in signature Austin fashion, and raises his fists up in each corner. He heads back down off the fourth corner after making his rounds, and grabs the microphone on ‘his’ chair.

Chris Jericho: First of all Mr. Austin it’s a pleasure to have you on the show.

Stone Cold Steve Austin: First of all kid don’t call Stone Cold ‘Mr. Austin.’ It’s Stone Cold and if you call me that again I will whoop your ass.

HUGE pop, as Austin seems to already be on to his old ways.

Chris Jericho: Alright, I’m sorry ‘Stone Cold’ …

Stone Cold Steve Austin: What?

WHAT

Chris Jericho: I said that I was—

Stone Cold Steve Austin: What?

WHAT

Stone Cold Steve Austin: You’re sorry? (WHAT) You’re sorry for what? (WHAT) What? (WHAT) You’re sorry for making a mistake? (WHAT) Kid people make mistakes. (WHAT) People like you make mistakes. (WHAT) Don’t be sorry. (WHAT) I don’t take it personally. (WHAT)

Few murmurs from the crowd.

Chris Jericho: Alright, alright fine. Stone Cold, I would like to first ask you what you’ve been doing in your time away from RAW and the WWE?

Stone Cold Steve Austin: Well, (WHAT) it’s quite simple. (WHAT) I’ve sat at home, (WHAT) been outside on the deck in the backyard, (WHAT) drinking beer, (WHAT) shootin’ deer, (WHAT) drinking more beer, (WHAT) shootin’ more deer, (WHAT) drinking more beer, (WHAT) and thinking about what I would do if I came back to the WWE.

Big pop from the crowd, as Austin seems to be getting relatively over.

Chris Jericho: Alright well, could you care to tell us just why you came back to the WWE?

Stone Cold Steve Austin: You want Stone Cold to tell why he came back to the WWE? (WHAT) Is that what you want? (WHAT) Look at me. Do you want me to say why I came back to the WWE?

Chris Jericho: Yes I would Stone Cold, and I think the people here would like to know as well.

Pop.

Stone Cold Steve Austin: Well I’ll tell ya. (WHAT) See I was sitting at home, (WHAT) about two weeks ago, and I was watching SmackDown. (WHAT; boos) And I was watching it, drinking beer and I couldn’t help but notice somethin’ stupid. I couldn’t help but notice, some guy named John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield call himself ‘The Greatest Texan to ever walk inside of a wrestling ring.’ (Heat) Quite frankly ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin thinks that’s a bunch of crap, and if that jackass were here right now, I’d have no problem in slapping the taste right from his mouth.

Lots of cheers from the fans, as they despise JBL.

Chris Jericho: So, Stone Cold if you’d let me interrupt here, the reason that you came back to the WWE is because you would like to slap the taste out of John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield???

Stone Cold Steve Austin: Whaddya stupid? (WHAT) Yes that’s what I just said. (WHAT) The words that came from Stone Cold’s lips, were that “if that jackass were here right now, I’d have no problem in slapping the taste right from his mouth.’ Do – I – make – myself – clear?

Cheers.

Chris Jericho: Yes … yes you do Stone Cold but, the fact is that if you did that … J, JBL is the WWE Champion. (Boos) And he in his Cabinet, no disrespect, would probably kick your ass all over the ring. I mean the fact is Stone Cold, the ‘Stone Cold Truth’ if you will is that you haven’t wrestled in two years. JBL is a fine competitor, possibly the greatest WWE Champion of all time. Stone Cold … do the fans a favor, and don’t make that statement so vividly.

Lots of boos from the crowd, as Austin’s expression seems to have turned sour.

Stone Cold Steve Austin: Are you questioning me? (WHAT) I said are you questioning me? (WHAT) You don’t think I wouldn’t get my ass kicked if I slapped JBL in the face? (WHAT) Oh you do. You do. Well why don’t I ask somebody else … … … (Turns attention to the crowd) If you think ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin could slap the taste out of John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield, and whoop his ass and stomp a mudhole in him and walk it dry – GIMME A HELL YEAH!

HELL YEAH!!

Stone Cold Steve Austin: Well it sure seems to Stone Cold that you’re wrong aren’t ya?

Chris Jericho: Here’s a bit of a newsflash Stone Cold. Nobody cares about these people and what THEY think. I’m the King of the World, I’m the first Undisputed Champion, I’m–

Stone Cold Steve Austin: The next guy who’s about to get a can of whoop ass unloaded on him.

HUGE pop.

Chris Jericho: Oh yeah? Oh yeah Austin?? Why don’t hit me right in the mouth? A washed up has been like you could never – e – e – EVERRR be able to handle, someone as great … as me.

Austin stares at him with intent, as Jericho smirks. He mouths “you won’t do it” as Austin continues to stare. He drops his microphone, as the crowd begins to lose its mind, as Austin moves forward towards Jericho. The two butt heads, with Jericho continuing to smirk – BEFORE AUSTIN POPS HIM IN THE MOUTH LIKE HE REQUESTED!! Austin hammers away, right hand after right hand, one after another backing Jericho into the corner!!

Austin begins to stomp on his sternum repeatedly, as he is stomping a mudhole in him. Austin walks it dry, quickening the pace of the stomps, as the crowd is going absolutely bananas. Stone Cold turns around and walks around, as the crowd is still going crazy, as we see Jericho slowly getting up in the corner. As Austin approaches him, JERICHO SUDDENLY KICKS HIM LOW IN THE GROIN!! The crowd boos, as Austin crumbles down to the ground.

Y2J smirks as he grabs his legs, looking for the WALLS OF JERICHO, but he’s having difficulty getting him over! The crowd begins to chant vicariously for ‘The Texas Rattlesnake,’ who suddenly maneuvers out of Jericho’s grip!! ‘The King of the World’ hits the corner, as he then staggers out, and walks into a middle finger from Austin, who kicks him in the gut – AND DELIVERS THE STONE COLD STUNNER!! Jericho bounces off the mat and does his best to sell the move, as the crowd goes ape shit.

Jim Ross: STUNNER!! STUNNER!! STONE COLD STUNNER!! STONE COLD HAS STUNNED THE KING OF THE WORLD!!

Jerry Lawler: Ohh nooo!! Jericho shouldn’t have asked Austin to hit him.

Jim Ross: King that’s what happens when you mess with a Rattlesnake. Jericho said it best – he cannot be trusted. If you mess with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin – you will pay the ultimate price. And Jericho just learned that first hand.

Austin remains in the ring, as he is in the corner, and he smashes two beer cans together and guzzles them down in signature Austin fashion. He demands more beer, as he leaves the ring and heads up the ramp. He gives the crowd a salute, before finishing off the two other beers, and heads to the back.

(Commercial Break)

A replay of the events that just transpired, between ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and Chris Jericho, with Austin hitting the Stone Cold Stunner on Y2J.

Match 1: World Tag Team Championships Match
Christian & Tyson Tomko vs. Triple X
In their first match in the WWE, Triple X performs very well under the new atmosphere compared to the atmospheres they were around in other industries. The crowd was very much into it, the indy crazies in the attendance mostly, as they showed their high-flying fast-paced tag team wrestling abilities that made them look like the better team in the match despite never competing in the WWE and not wearing the Tag Team Championships. The finish of the match saw Christian dominating Elix Skipper, but miscalculating a jump off the top rope when looking for a cross body, and Christian would crash and burn! The crowd cheered as Skipper ran to the corner, leaped onto the top rope SOMEHOW, and hit a Whisper in the Wind!! The crowd cheered loudly as he made the cover, but Tyson Tomko came inside the ring and stomped on Skipper’s back breaking the cover. The Fallen Angel headed into the ring and threw a big right hand at Tomko, while Skipper and Christian were getting up. Daniels clotheslined Tomko out of the ring, and Skipper would hit a one-armed thrust spinebuster (Instant Replay), which was followed by Daniels leaping onto the second rope – then to the top rope – and coming off with a moonsault!!! Skipper covered, while Daniels watched Tomko on the outside making sure he couldn’t get inside – AND THE REFEREE COUNTED TO THREE – SKIPPER AND DANIELS WIN THE TAG TEAM TITLES!!!
Winners AND NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Triple X @ 13:11.
NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!! In their debut match, Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper have defeated Christian and Tyson Tomko – to win the World Tag Team Championships!! Skipper and Daniels embrace in the ring, and receive the title belts, falling to their knees in AMAZEMENT that they have reached the big time and have shocked the WORLD by winning the Tag Titles!!

Jim Ross: I don’t believe this!! Triple X have won the World Tag Team Titles in their first match here on RAW!! What a moment!!

Jerry Lawler: Noooo!! This is not good! Captain Charisma what happened?!!?!

Jim Ross: A talented team won King. This team has a bright future and I’m amazed at what I’ve just seen. Make me a believer, I beg of you. What a night this is and it’s only just begun!

Skipper and Daniels head into the crowd and celebrate, while Christian and Tomko are livid inside the ring. Their one plus month reign as champions have ended, at the hands of the new team on the block – Triple X! The NEW Tag Team Champions continue their celebration as they head up the arena steps through the crowd, high fiving and embracing with them, and they raise their newly won title belts up high, as the crowd is continuing to go crazy…

(Commercial Break)

A shot of Daniels and Skipper continuing their celebration, now up in the concession area with the fans. Moments ago they won the World Tag Team Championships, which is highlighted in a replay video.

Cutting now to the General Manager’s office…

Knock on the door.

Eric Bischoff: Come in.

Theodore Long enters the office to a nice pop.

Eric Bischoff: Teddy … what in the hell could you possibly want?

Theodore Long: Hey, slow your roll Eric. I’m just here for one reason. And that’s because, yours truly has a proposition. Ya dig?

Eric Bischoff: A proposition … huh? Well Teddy, what kind of proposition, would this be?

Theodore Long: Well Eric, the proposition that I have, involves WrestleMania. (Cheers) And this proposition … has to do with the superstars of RAW … and the superstars of SmackDown. Being as there are so many competitors on both of our shows that deserve WWE or World Heavyweight Title shots, I have a compromise.

Eric Bischoff: A compromise?

Theodore Long: Yes. What I propose, is that you get 3 of the best RAW superstars that you’ve got, and I get 3 of the best SmackDown superstars, that I’ve got, and at WrestleMania, we put ‘em in the ring, and hang a contract above the ring, that guarantees the winner of the match, a World or WWE Title shot before WrestleMania next year.

Murmurs, and a couple cheers from the crowd, as Bischoff looks awfully intrigued.

Eric Bischoff: So what you’re saying, is that after the finals of the Road to WrestleMania Tournament tonight, and after No Way Out, we both take 3 superstars, and put them in a match, where a contract hangs above the ring, and using a ladder I assume, one superstar will gain a guaranteed title shot with the next year? Teddy … (Laughing) you know I don’t say this often about you, but that’s GENIUS. I LOVE the idea. Absolutely love it.

Cheers, as Long looks happy.

Theodore Long: Sounds good to me dawg. Holla’.

Long leaves the locker room, as we head to JR and The King.

Jim Ross: Well King I might have to agree with Eric Bischoff for once in saying that is a marvelous idea, by SmackDown’s General Manager Theodore Long.

Jerry Lawler: That match sounds like it could be huge JR! WrestleMania has me excited already and we still have a long road ahead.

Jim Ross: I’m afraid you’re right King and ladies and gentlemen, later on tonight one man’s road to WrestleMania will be a lot clearer, as the finals of the Road to WrestleMania Tournament will occur in the main event (Graphic appears) – as Batista takes on ‘The Game’ Triple H for a main event shot at Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title.

Camera cuts backstage, and we see the World Heavyweight Champion, almost on cue, backstage in his locker room. Stacy Keibler is giving him a back massage, which Orton seems to love {gee who wouldn’t } as he has the night off tonight.

Randy Orton: You know Stace, even though I’m gonna know my WrestleMania opponent later on tonight … right now I couldn’t feel any better.

Stacy Keibler: (Continuing to massage) Well Randy … I’ll make you feel a LOTTT more comfortable by the end of the night …

Randy Orton: (Raises eyebrow) That right??

Stacy Keibler: Mhmmm … just … relax … (Continues massaging)

Orton exhales as he shuts his eyes laying back on the chair he’s on, as Stacy continues to do her work.

WrestleMania Recall – WrestleMania XIV – The Undertaker defeats Kane after not 1, not 2, but 3 Tombstone Piledrivers

Match 2: Singles Match
Val Venis vs. Kane
Yeah, you pretty much guessed it … SQUASH. Kane pretty much slaughters The Big Valbowski from bell to bell, and doesn’t leave anything behind. Much of the crowd gets behind him, despite Val being face as well as Kane, as The Big Red Machine hits a Chokeslam to end the match.
Winner: Kane at 4:15.
Kane gets up, and throws his arms down as fire shoots up off the ring posts, as we see him leave the ring as the arena lights turn red.

No Way Out – THIS SUNDAY ON PAY PER VIEW!

Backstage … Batista is just arriving into the arena. He is dressed in a suit and seems to be intent on getting to his locker room, when we see Marc Lloyd come in from the outer part of the screen.

Marc Lloyd: Batista, Batista if we could please get a word.

Batista stops, takes off his shades, and waits.

Marc Lloyd: Batista, what are your thoughts going into your match later on tonight, knowing the one thing that is preventing you from getting to the main event of WrestleMania – is your former friend Triple H?

Batista: My thoughts? You want my thoughts? My thoughts are that I couldn’t give a damn about the past. I couldn’t give a damn about the history between myself and Triple H. The fact is, tonight it’s all gonna end, because tonight I will be the one who moves on to WrestleMania, and finally get out of the shadow that Triple H has cast over me for the longest time around here.

Cheers.

Batista: Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a match to go prepare for.

He walks off as we then cut inside the arena …

…**Sexy Boy** The music of ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels infiltrates the U.S. Bank Arena, as we see him come out to a tremendous mixed reaction, leaning towards the negative side however. Michaels, the newly named special guest referee for the match at No Way Out between Eddie Guerrero and Carlito, heads down to the ring after going through his usual motions, not in wrestling gear.

HBK struts a bit going towards the ringside area, and once there, steps up the steps in signature showboat style, as flashes of ‘the old HBK’ are being shown almost each and every single week. Michaels twirls inside the ring, and then grabs a mic from a stage hand on the outside.

Shawn Michaels: It seems to me … like we’ve got some people in the stands, who aren’t very supportive, of ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ anymore …

Some boos from the fans who agree with Michaels’ statement.

Shawn Michaels: Y’know I don’t understand WHY you people are like this. I haven’t changed a bit!! What about me is different, from what you’ve been used to see each and every week since I returned three years ago? Huh? I can’t seem to find it. I mean really people, have I really gotten on your nerves so much that now you’re gonna boo me when I come out here??

Boos.

Shawn Michaels: Guess I got that answer.

‘H – B – K – sucks!’ chants.

Shawn Michaels: Really … REALLY loving the originality around here. I mean, can you really say anything else besides that?

Boos.

Shawn Michaels: You know I think it’s better off if I ignore the majority of you, and instead move on to why I’m out here. And this is about, me, ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels, being the special guest referee this Sunday at No Way Out – which is on Pay Per View BY THE WAY – in the match, between Carlito Caribbean Cool … (boos) … and my opponent for WrestleMania … Eddie Guerrero.

Cheers for the mentioning of ‘Latino Heat.’

Shawn Michaels: Yeah, I know. He’s a great guy and everything … (grimaces) but, he’s been getting on my nerves lately. And you wanna know why? (Boos) Because he just doesn’t get it …

Much of the crowd, as well as JR and The King, are confused by Michaels’ statement.

Shawn Michaels: He doesn’t get, that our match at WrestleMania should be nothing more than a battle of respect. He’s trying to push all of the buttons that can possibly be pushed, in my mind. And Eddie … let me make a promise to you right now, that’s something you don’t wanna do … (Mixed reaction) it’s something you don’t wanna do, because TRUST me, when I’m angry, when I’m mad as hell, I don’t stop at nothing to get in the head of the man who is making me go insane. And that Eddie … is why I am one of the best of all-time.

Some cheers, some boos, while Michaels stands in the ring looking out at the crowd and then at the camera.

Shawn Michaels: So all … that I’m suggesting that you do Eddie … is leave the issue alone, and let this match be based on nothing but respect, because quite honestly, that’s all I want it to be about. I don’t wanna go – to the next level Eddie Guerrero. And YOU don’t wanna go there either. I can feel it Eddie. You too want this to be about respect, and nothing more. But the addiction that you still have burning inside of you, for competition … is making your blood boil Eddie … it’s making it boil, because you know you cannot outdo me.

You can’t outdo me, because you’re just not good enough to do it.

OH!

Shawn Michaels: Eddie Guerrero … I have a word of advice – don’t … don’t make this personal.

Michaels’ music hits, as he slowly leaves the ring. After delivering the message to Eddie, it seems that HBK may just be the good guy after all … maybe. Either way, HBK heads up the ramp, looking out at the crowd, before turning towards the backstage area and leaving through the curtain.

Backstage we see Triple H getting his wrists taped, as his match against Batista is vastly approaching.

Jim Ross: Well intriguing words from HBK King, but as we can see now ‘The Cerebral Assassin’ is slowly getting prepared for what should be a war against Batista later on tonight.

Jerry Lawler: JR I don’t know if I really like Batista’s chances. Look at how focused ‘The Game’ looks. I’ve never seen him look the way he does right now. It might be the end of ‘The Animal’ tonight, as far as I’m concerned.

Jim Ross: Well we will find that out later on tonight, but now ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to find out the second inductee into the Class of 2005 for the WWE Hall of Fame – check it out …

The second inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2005 is … … … …

… … …“The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart … … …

(Commercial Break)

Match 3: Tag Team Match
Shelton Benjamin & Rhyno vs. Simon Dean & Maven
Mainly a filler tag team match that does get some time. The Intercontinental Champion gets a lot of action in this one, taking almost full control over the entire contest over the team of Dean & Maven, who don’t seem to be working out the kinks of being a tag team on RAW as of yet. Rhyno also gets a lot in this one, despite being out for a fairly long time, for seemingly odd under looked reasons. As the match progressed Benjamin and Rhyno kept getting further and further in control, and more and more and more were Maven and Simon Dean falling apart. Rhyno would hit a runnin powerslam on Simon Dean to attempt a cover, but Maven came in and broke up the pin before the count of three. Benjamin came right in and decked Maven taking him out of the ring, and then set Dean up as Rhyno came off the ropes with the GORE!! GORE!! GORE!! GORE!! GETTING THE VICTORY!
Winners: Shelton Benjamin & Rhyno at 7:23.
After the match was over, Benjamin shook hands with Rhyno, as te young Intercontinental Champion then grabbed the microphone from a stage hand at ringside.

Shelton Benjamin: Lemme tell ya, just exactly how it is … this year at WrestleMania, there’s supposed to be a match where the winner gets a World Title shot. A shot that they can use for within a year of this year’s WrestleMania, onto next year’s WrestleMania.

Cheers.

Shelton Benjamin: Well I … I am going to BE in this match, and I can prom –

**Arabic Prayer**

Much of the crowd is very disappointed and boo the arrival of the Arab sympathizer Muhammad Hassan, who as always is dressed in a robe and is wearing a headdress. Hassan walks WITHOUT Daivari for some reason …

Muhammad Hassan: Shelton … Shelton do you know, why I’m out here right now?? And do you know why I just interrupted you?

Shelton Benjamin: (Thinking) … … … … Because you’re annoying?

Cheers, as Hassan begins to ‘laugh.’

Muhammad Hassan: Very funny … (Continuing to laugh, but then stops) No. I am out here, because it is an injustice that you can claim that you’re already in this match – when it hasn’t even been officially agreed upon by the Board of Directors up in Stamford, Connecticut!!

Boos from the crowd, as Shelton seems annoyed.

Muhammad Hassan: It is also an injustice … … that week after week, after week – I am excluded from being on this show!! Two weeks ago, I wanted to make an impact and I did. I surprised the world, and showed up and stood face to face with the Royal Rumble Winner, John Cena!! I –

Shelton Benjamin: Got my ass kicked.

Cheers.

Shelton Benjamin: Isn’t that what happened Muhammad? Or am I mistaken, because you’ve had a couple of ass whoopings over the past few weeks if I’m not mistaken.

More cheers.

Muhammad Hassan: You know I seem to remember yourself getting YOUR ass kicked last week by Triple H, and you couldn’t even make it to WrestleMania if you WANTED to Shelton.

OH!

Shelton Benjamin: Muhammad … I’m sick and tired of you. I’m sick and tired of you whining and complaining – like a bitch – about how you keep getting excluded and excluded. Well how about this. Next week, right here on RAW, you and I go one on one, for the Intercontinental Championship – and also, it determines who goes to WrestleMania and who goes to the 6-Man match to determine who gets a shot at the World Heavyweight Title within the next year. How’s that sound??

Positive reaction.

Muhammad Hassan: Alright … alright I’ll agree to that. (Cheers) And one more thing Shelton … watch your back …

Suddenly, DAIVARI CRACKS A STEEL CHAIR OVER THE BACK OF SHELTON BENJAMIN!!! Benjamin drops to his knees, as Hassan begins to stomp on his back repeatedly. Much to the chagrin of the crowd, the Intercontinental Champion is receiving a beat down courtesy of possibly the most hated man in the entire WWE! Hassan continues with the boot stomps, before dragging him up to his shoulders.

He holds Benjamin’s seemingly ‘dead weight’ as he knees him in the gut, and then drops him with a Complete Shot!! BUT – HE – ISN’T – DONE – YET! Muhammad steps over Benjamin, who is laying down on his stomach knocked out cold, as Hassan pulls his neck up and locks in the Camel Clutch!!! Daivari begins speaking the Arab dialect, as Hassan continues to rare back on him and his neck. The crowd is booing the shit out of the Arab sympathizer, who is showing no compassion or remorse for the current longstanding Intercontinental Champion.

Hassan doesn’t want to break the hold, as security members now rush to the ring. Hassan finally lets go, as he then looks up to the ‘heavens’ with his arms wide. He leaves the ring, as Shelton is helped to his feet moments later by security and officials, a bit woozy from the attack by Hassan and Daivari, who set him up without him even knowing.

(Commercial Break)

SmackDown Rebound:
·The Undertaker defeats Orlando Jordan; afterwards JBL tries to get himself involved in the match, but Undertaker disappears and with the help of a lightning bolt – sets the WWE Championship belt ablaze.
·John Cena defeats The Angle Alliance by disqualification, after Kurt Angle got himself involved, and hit the Angle Slam on Cena.

We are backstage, and we see Triple H standing next to Todd Grisham.

Todd Grisham: Triple H, in a matter of moments you will be going one on one with your former protégé, the former ‘Animal of Evolution’ one Batista, in the Road to WrestleMania Tournament Finals. Can you give us your thoughts going into this match … knowing Batista has made it clear that you’re the only thing stopping him from heading to the main event of WrestleMania?

Cheers, as Triple H steps forward.

Triple H: (Smirking, and softly laughing) You know it’s funny Todd … how things can change in a blink of an eye. Last year at this time … Evolution … was on top of the wrestling world. All of us, were champions. All of us, defined what it means to be ‘great.’ Myself, I … was the World Heavyweight Champion, proving that I am the best damn wrestler in the game today. Randy Orton? Randy Orton was the Intercontinental Champion, breeding himself for success. And Batista … and Ric Flair … were the World Tag Team Champions, we controlled RAW – we controlled the WWE.

Cheers for the nostalgia references.

Triple H: … … … but ever since Summerslam, things have changed. Things have changed, because everybody wants to be ‘the guy.’ ‘The guy’ that overshadows everyone else on the entire roster. Everybody tried … to be me. Randy Orton … Randy Orton, might be making a name for himself now, after beating that scrub of a challenger, they call Edge, but when he first won the World Title back at Summerslam, he got his ass beat the next night, and almost a month later it was all over.

Many boos, as Triple H once again seems to be cutting a top-notch promo.

Triple H: Then … then after Randy Orton was taken care of, I was back on the top of the wrestling world. Only to fall due to a bad refereeing decision, to make the World Heavyweight Championship vacant. And then at New Year’s Revolution … I had the match won, but thanks to Randy Orton, and an RKO that came out of nowhere – I’ll give him the credit for doing it – but thanks to Randy Orton, I was not the World Heavyweight Champion for the tenth time in my career.

Cheers from the crowd, as they were happy he couldn’t achieve this.

Triple H: Todd incase you’re as much of an idiot that I think you are, that is an accomplishment, which nobody in this current generation can attain to. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin? (Cheers) Yeah, he may have been great, but he’s only won it 6 times. Mick Foley? (Cheers) Gimme a break. That ‘daredevil’ has only been a 3 time WWE Champion … … … and The Rock? (BIG pop; smiling) He only got the job done 7 times … the fact is, I’m the best this current generation has laid their eyes on, and that’s a damn fact.

More boos, as it doesn’t seem like The Game is through yet.

Triple H: And then came … the Royal Rumble. Then came, the worst mistake in Dave Batista’s entire life. Batista you made the decision, to turn your back on me, and everything that I taught you how to be, and now you’re on your own. You’re on your own Dave … … and there isn’t a man that will help you now. You see it’s real simple, once you play the game, you can’ get out until you’ve lost. And tonight, I can promise you that you won’t be getting nay mulligans, second chances, do-overs, whatever the hell you wanna call them, you aren’t getting them … … …

More boos, as Triple H stares into the camera.

Triple H: … … you’ve got one shot Dave … … and if I’m a betting man … … Ric will tell you the same thing … … which brings me to my last point. Ric Flair, I don’t give a crap about anything that you say about what you’ve done. I don’t have to beat the man to BE the man … … … because I already am the man … … and I am that … … damn … … good … …

Hunter leaves the area, as we then jump to the ring.

Match 4: Singles Match
Molly Holly vs. Lita
In Lita’s return match after being sidelined for about a month, she performs fairly well but not at the greatest of levels. She shows some ring rust but manages to pull off a good match with the two-time Women’s Champion. Molly however could not get herself completely in advantage at any point in the match, leaving Lita to easily get the victory after hitting a Twist of Fate.
Winner: Lita at 4:31.
Lita has her hand raised by the referee as much of the crowd cheers. We see her then celebrate on the second rope in the corner, when the camera cuts backstage, to Trish Stratus’ locker room, as she is sitting by the television, with Trish’s eyes staring at the screen, with Lita’s words of a challenge for WrestleMania still ringing vicariously through her head …

Now switching to a split-screen of Batista and Triple H walking to the ring area …

Jim Ross: Well ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the Road to WrestleMania Tournament Final. Triple H, ‘The Game,’ the 9-time World Heavyweight Champion goes up against his former protégé, the former ‘Animal of Evolution,’ Batista for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21. This is what it’s all about folks – and it’s next.

WRESTLEMANIA GOES HOLLYWOOD – 48 DAYS

***

Main Event: Road to WrestleMania Tournament Final Match
Triple H vs. Batista
In what is quite possibly the most anticipated match in the last several years on RAW, Batista and Triple H stepped in the ring to prove who the better man was and to see who was going to have the clearest road to WrestleMania 48 days from now. Big Dave had nearly every damn fan in attendance in his corner, and on his way to the ring received the loudest pop of the night. The former leader of Evolution, Triple H did not receive such a great reaction as he was booed out of the U.S. Bank Arena for his first in-ring appearance of the night. Both men stepped forward once the dust was cleared of the opening introductions, and it did not take long for tensions to get up to unimaginable levels and explode, as the bell sounded after a POWERFUL right hand from The Animal. An exchange of blows followed this, and Batista went for an early Batista Bomb, but The Game fought quickly out of it and scurried to the outside, to a shit load of heat. The Animal called him on from the inside of the ropes, and then headed to the outside after growing tired of waiting. The Cerebral Assassin showed why he is rightfully called that, as after getting inside the ring after being in hot pursuit by Big Dave, he hit him with a powerful knee lift, and began to take advantage of the match. The Game pummeled Batista, making him look more like a pet than an unleashed animal, but never got the big man down on his back for the count of three. It seemed more and more like Triple H was losing it rather than keeping his momentum sustained, and the crowd seemed to begin to play a factor into it as well. With the raging fans ragging on The Animal, Big Dave Batista reversed the pressure of an Indian Deathlock Triple H applied in the center of the ring, and was then followed by HHH grabbing onto the ropes. Batista released himself from the move, using the ropes to help him up as well, and charged into HHH who was getting up in the corner. This was followed by a running powerslam, which Triple H kicked out of after Dave hooked the inside leg up. The crowd groaned along with Big Dave, who put his head in his hands as he was growing very disappointed that his chances of main-eventing WrestleMania were growing smaller and smaller as the time went by. The time was passing the 11 o’clock mark, when Triple H managed to counter a whip to the ropes, and picked Batista up as he came back, and drove him DOWN to the mat with a SPINEBUSTER!! A split reaction came about, as The Game pulled Batista’s legs up, going for the pin – BUT BATISTA KICKED OUT!! The crowd went ape shit as The Game looked STUNNED. He went up to consult the referee, and wound up backing him into a corner, while we saw Batista slowly getting himself up to his feet. Triple H continued arguing, as Batista kept stirring, and then charged – BUT HHH ROLLED AWAY, AND BATISTA HIT THE REFEREE!!! The referee crumbed as the crowd groaned and OOOOO’d as we saw HHH hiding now under the ring. Batista, left inside, looked confused, while The Game was seen taking the SLEDGEHAMMER out from beneath the ring!!! Dave, rabidly walking around the ring, would look out where The Game was, AND HUNTER DRILLED HIM WITH THE SLEDGEHAMMER INTO HIS FOREHEAD!!! The crowd booed, as a sadistic grin came over his face, and he tossed the sledgehammer away and rolled into the ring. He looked down at The Animal’s unconscious body, as he pulled him up between his legs, and began hooking the arms – WHEN SUDDENLY THE CROWD BEGAN CHEERING!!! TRIPLE H’S EYES LIT UP – AS HE LET GO OF BATISTA – AND HEADED OUT OF THE RING – TO MEET RIC FLAIR!!! THE NATURE BOY HAS MADE HIS PRESENCE KNOWN, AND CHOPS THE HOLY HELL OUT OF TRIPLE H!!! The crowd is WOOOOO-ing off as Flair rolls him back in the ring after hitting scintillating chops across his chest. In fury, The Dirtiest Player in the Game walks over to the SLEDGEHAMMER, and rolls into the ring. He waits and waits, before charging ahead – AND DRILLS TRIPLE H WITH THE SLEDGEHAMMER ONTO HIS FOREHEAD!!! Flair turns around to the crowd, and lets out a large WOOOOOOOO after gazing around. He DRAGS BIG DAVE OVER TRIPLE H, and then shakes the referee around before throwing him down to the mat. This seems to revive the referee a bit, but he looks up at Flair shortly before going to make the count – AND CALLS FOR THE BELL!??!!?
Winner: ???
The crowd begins to boo absolutely crazily, as Flair’s eyes light up. Obviously wanting to cost The Game a victory, the match seems to have been thrown out. Batista begins to stir, not realizing what the hell is going on, as Flair grabs the referee, and CHOPS HIM – sending him through the ropes and out of the ring!! MASS confusion is a foot, as it seems as if we DON’T have a winner of the Tournament and DON’T have a number one contender!!!

END SHOW

Default Re: WWE 2005: A Fresh, New Start

RAW Feedback

I always say that the best spot for a talk show is the beginning of the show and with Austin it was sure to make the rest of the show extremely memorable. Jericho was amazing in this promo but Austin was wierd (and I mean wierder than normal). The 'what's were overused. When it comes to Austin, I'll just round this up by saying that 'less is more'. Chris should know better than to provoke Austin. I'm really not interesting in having a feud between these two guys. We've seen it before and more than once too. I just feel like if you're bringing Austin back then he could have much more interesting feud but if you're not bringing him back to the ring and he's just there for hype, this was perfect. Jericho didn't look like a complete pushover either with the brawl. JR marking out is always awesome and he never marks out for anybody quite like he does for Austin

Triple X won the tag titles in their first match in WWE? Totally unrealistic imo but that doesn't bother me all that much. The match seemed really good and maybe Christian can now move on to bigger and better things while you can try and evolve Tomko's personality. He could do so much more than being just a 'problem solver'. I see a mini feud b/w the two in the distant future, probably after Mania

Ah, so this is how you're debuting Money in the Bank? Teddy Long and Bichoff should never coexist imo but in this case it was more than alright although Bichoff giving Long credit was a bit...meh-ish. Orton and Stacy segment was only to get Orton some screen time imo. It would also keep some of the more pervy fans interested in the show I don't know why you had Kane in a squash, it's not like he needs to squash somebody to be build up or anything. Val is a credible jobber though, especially to someone like Kane

Batista looks intense for his main event match. I'm not sure how well Batista would deliver all those lines without botching in this time period though but Big Dave OWNS - fact! Shawn Michaels got the point across while he was trying to build some huge heat without actually having to go full blown heel but I do see him turning soon. I don't know how many people would actually boo him though, especially at Mania. I'm expecting a partial crowd at WrestleMania, though Eddie as a face might have a bigger fanbase

Jimmy Hart in the Hall of Fame...good I guess. Benjamin and Rhyno beating Maven and Simon Dean. While Maven might not be totally jobbed, Simon Dean is far from credible, especially with the simon system gimmick . Give him promo time and introduce Striker. That should be promo-tastic. Benjamin announcing himself to fight in the MITB is fair considering he is the IC Champion and a good move as IRL, he stole the show. Hassan is definitely worth pushing as I've said before. I expect him to take the belt off of Benjamin on the road to WrestleMania to have some sort of story going into the MITB. Hassan getting the advantage and in a huge way will definitely propel him higher up. And where the hell was Rhyno, seemed like he would've wanted to help out Benji but this could turn Rhyno heel or Benji heel? DAMMIT, I want more heels

SmackDown rebound makes the show looks weak tbh. Triple H gave one of his usual heel promos, which were getting good again in 2005. Without Evolution though, he needs a new crutch. Lita getting the win over someone credible like Molly should put her in as the only other challenger really. But I'm not too fond of them fighting one more time but at WrestleMania, they could put on a classic. Victoria soon plz

An Amazing main event with an amazing conclusion. I called Flair interference last week but I didn't expect things to end like this. I'm expecting the Evolution 4-way come Mania even more after how the match ended. You didn't have either man look weak but you had Flair looking strong. I loved him chopping the ref out of the ring - shades from his NWA days. Pretty great show, very eventful. And now let me say this, RAW is more interesting than SD

I'm putting this thread on hiatus, considering that I've lost all focus and all ability to write shows. I need to reignite that focus, which most likely will be towards the end of the summer. Since I completed NWO, I'll post that tomorrow along with the last SD! before it.

Apologies go out to those I owe reviews to, but it's just getting to me.

Sorry to hear that you have lost focus JBL. The thread is really starting to get hot but whatever you need to do is fine. Probably best to take some time off before starting the long road to WM. Comments for NWO when you post it, imo.
