Adam Reviews Renegade’s Raw
Very solid way to kick off Raw in this thread. Bischoff seems a bit too keen to talk about Austin, which gets me thinking… will Stone Cold return soon with a feud ala Rattlesnake/Vinnie Mac? Time will tell. Booker is getting a rematch at H, can’t really say I see him winning at all as taking the strap off of Hunter on the first Raw would deliver a huge blow to him so soon in the thread. The Evolution/Jericho vs. HBK/Maven/Hurricane got a laugh out of me. If Funaki was on Raw, I could almost see him in that match. I’m expecting a clean Evolution win. Anyway, back to the promo. Scott Steiner comes and delivers an early line about The Rock, I’m sensing something… Rock comes out, possible Backlash match? I’m thinking it. Steiner manages to hold off the Rock to finish the promo, this is over just yet.
Dudleys/Morley shall soon be departing. Something in the coming weeks before Backlash possibly leading to something at the PPV.
New Tag team champions in the first match? It works for me. So long as it’s not the World title changing hands, I’m not too fussed about a swap. I quite liked the team of RVD and Kane, so I’m happy to see them with the gold. But the win doesn’t come without the Dudley’s help. The relationship with Morley looks to be crumbling faster than I had thought. Morley cops the 3D and the Bischoff Administration cops a huge blow.
A solid match announcement to continue this newly sprung fued. I see Morley screwing the Dudley’s next week.
It’s a bit weird to see Jeff lose to D’Lo after seeing his recent real life push, but then again, this IS 2003, not 2008. Not sure where you plan to go with D’Lo, but I’m going to keep an eye on him and where he goes.
Simple yet effective hype promo from Evolution. I would’ve liked to see Orton and Batista get some mic time, even if it were to be the single line or whatever.
Promo of the Night thus far, full marks for being a pisser, great promo! Rock gets owned by Trish and then staged up by the Hurricane, gold.
I really didn’t see Trish losing the first night after gaining the title, so no surprises that her team one. Having Molly pinned was the smartest choice for this match, with Jazz and Victoria not looking as weak as possible, good booking.
I hope for a Christian push. I was a huge fan of his IC title run five years back, so I hope he takes a similar if not better path soon. I could see the win over Test coming.
DIESEL IS BACK! I could see it coming a little, but not too much. Diesel evens up the odds and I’m thinking Win from here. And I’m right, no surprise to see Nash score the fall. Interesting run-in backstage, more to be revealed soon I’d imagine.
Right To Censor is back, I like. For some reason, I liked the Mack/Nowinski tandem. Under the wing of Stevie Richards, they should get a little bit more credibility, and maybe a push to the tag titles.
Another hype interview, this time with Booker. No way he’s taking it. And I’m right, really no surprise like I explained earliar. Evolution beat down works, as there is strength in numbers, didn’t really see Goldust doing much. GOLDBERG IS BACK~! But two big returns on the first show might be a bit overboard, I reckon. War with Evolution looks to be on the cards
Overall, stellar first show, enjoyed it from top to bottom. Wishing you and Mac luck with a long lasting thread, and I can’t wait for the next Raw and Smackdown!
