SAVE_BTB.222
Hello to everyone who remembers me... and the other 99% of this forum . As you can see i have returned with what i’m hoping will be a successful thread. However saying that, due to my current hectic schedule i’m not sure how much of this thread will be in full/recap... so we’ll just see how it goes. This is a WWF/WWE BTB set after Wrestlemania 17, with the only difference being that Eric Bischoff defeated Vince McMahon in the bidding war for WCW. He would then go on to re-build the company and hence the Monday Night War continues . What will the WWF do in order to produce high quality shows?... Well we’ll never know, but here you’ll find the ideas leaking out of my disturbed mind . Enjoy.
Also as you’ll see from the WM17 results, i’ve written Benoit out. Partly because of the controversy surrounding him, and partly because i needed an excuse to make more room in the upper card.

Awesome thread name sneapy, and glad to see you return. Pretty cool time period, look forward to this. By the way, I LOL'd at how you wrote off Benoit...just so random and obvious that you didn't wanna use him, haha.

Re: SAVE_BTB.222
I like the fact that WCW still lives, but I think you could've gone into a bit more depth with explaining about Bischoff outbidding McMahon and all the rest. This is a juicy time to start from, and I hope that you can stay committed to this thread despite your busy schedule, good luck.

Re: SAVE_BTB.222
Thanks for the comments guys, they're very much appreciated. I was hoping that the first show would be up by now, but after reading what i'd done so far i decided that i needed to redo quite a bit of it. But hopefully it should be up sometime this week (hopefully i'll also be able to write some reviews and comments for other people during that time.)Anyway for now, here's a good old generic preview.
Raw Preview
If Wrestlemania 17 proved anything to the world, it's that indeed anything can happen in the WWF. Before last night, nobody would have dreamt that former arch enemies, Vince McMahon and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin could ever form any sort of union... However that's just what happened when the WWF champion helped Austin defeat the Rock and become the new WWF champion. This week on Raw, both men will be in the building. Will Austin explain his actions? And what will other WWF superstars have to say on the matter?
At Wrestlemania, 5 new champions were crowned... But for some, their reigns are already in jeopardy. Two men have been granted rematches for the belts they had going into Wrestlemania, and both of these matches will take place on Raw. Tune in to see Raven attempt to reclaim his hardcore title from the big red machine Kane, whilst Test challenges "latino heat" Eddie Guerrero for the Europeon title that was stolen from him.
It's confirmed that other big names, such as Chris Jericho, Triple H, William Regal and The Big Show will also be in the building... However it's also been rumoured that Shane McMahon will be there. After he defeated his Dad, Vince at Wrestlemania in a street fight, this could only lead to a volatile situation.
Tune in to Raw to witness what is sure to be the explosive aftermath of Wrestlemania 17.

Re: SAVE_BTB.222
Well after a few months of trying to decide on how much detail to write in, a style i like and a layout i like (seriously there's about 5 different versions of this show on my computer, XD). I've finally made a decision. I'll probably be doing all of my shows in recap like this (yes including PPV's) which i know will displease some, but please others. Anyway i'll probably be fine tuning the layout and such during future shows, but for now here's the first edition of Raw.
Edit: Ok i've changed the layout, since there was a problem with the text on the right being cut off.

· Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated the Rock at Wrestlmania 17 to become the new WWF champion. However to do so, he formed an alliance with his former arch nemesis, the WWF chairman Vince McMahon.
· Vince McMahon was in action himself that night, against his son Shane in a street fight. After some help from special guest referee Mick Foley and Shane’s mother Linda (who was thought to be sedated), Shane o Mac was able to gain the victory.
· Edge and Christian defeated the Dudleyz and the Hardyz (with some help from Rhyno) in a TLC match to become the new WWF tag team champions.
· Chris Jericho defeated William Regal, retaining the Intercontinental championship.
· Kurt Angle defeated Chris Benoit in a grudge match, and in the process, put Benoit out of action with a neck injury.
· The Undertaker defeated Triple H in a hard fought grudge match. However due to a sledgehammer shot received in the bout, “the deadman” is unable to make it to Raw.

· Kane defeated the Big Show and Raven to become the new hardcore champion.

A video package is played showing the main highlights and results of Wrestlemania 17.

The more familiar video package is aired, showing some of the most iconic and chaotic moments from Raw in the past years, while “all together now” plays in the background.
|
Opening
We are taken into the arena, which is suddenly lit up by fireworks erupting from, and around the stage. Afterwards the lights come on and the camera pans around the jam packed arena. We see signs such as “Why? Austin Why?” “DTA: Don’t trust Austin” “sellout: 3:16” and “This is not a Stone Cold sign”... J.R. and Paul Heyman welcome us to the show from their broadcast table. They talk about how monumental Wrestlemania 17 was and all of the historic events that took place during that show. While J.R. expresses his disgust at the situation between Austin and McMahon, Paul mentions that tonight Test will cash in his rematch clause for the Europeon title, and Raven will use his to challenge Kane for the hardcore title right here tonight. J.R. tells us that he hopes we also get some answers from Austin.
Promo 1
Coincidentally, just after J.R. finishes speaking, “No Chance in Hell” starts to play, and the WWF Chairman, Vince McMahon makes his entrance. He strolls down the ramp, with a wide smile on his face, despite the fact that the crowd are showering him with heat (as well as J.R. making several references to the devil). Once he gets into the ring, he asks for a microphone and attempts to speak to the Texan audience. However he has to wait for an “asshole” chant to die down before he can do so... Once he’s able to speak, he continues to hype up WM 17 as being one of the best events of all time. But he claims that for him personally, “Wrestlemania carried with it a whole spectrum of emotions”. On the one hand... he was beaten and embarrassed by his ex-wife and former son. (The crowd pop in memory of this). However he then goes on to say, that while he lost one son... in a way... he gained another. This receives a lot of heat from the fans, who are disgusted by the fact that McMahon just compared their former hero to a son. Vince spends the next several minutes annoying the fans even further by rubbing the new alliance in their faces. Eventually he says that he knows they want some answers (they cheer in agreement) before annoying them again by asking for anyone who wants answers to give him a “hell yeah”... But the crowd just give him heat for his use of Austin’s catchphrase. He tries a second time, after which he gets a few “hell yeahs” but still mostly boos. It doesn’t matter though because Vince goes on to enthusiastically state that the people “Don’t deserve any answers”. The crowd continue to boo the chairman, who was just about to go on a long rant about why they don’t deserve anything... when.
“Time to play the game” blasts out of the speakers, and Triple H makes his entrance, along with his wife/Vince’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon. Despite being a heelHHH gets a strange pop from the fans (probably for interrupting Vince). The pair of them enter the ring, both looking extremely angry, which seems to surprise Vince... After the music stops, Triple H snatches the microphone from his father-in-law (which gets him another pop) and yells at him, asking him what the hell is going on. He claims that these people may not deserve any answers (which finally gets him a bit of heat) but he sure as hell does, and demands that Vince explains to him why he’s shaking hands with a man who spent the past half a year trying to kill him. At this point Stephanie screeches into the mic, asking her Dad how he could do such a thing, after everything Austin has done to HHH and herself...Looking nervous, Vince asks for another microphone and unconvincingly claims that he’ll explain it to them backstage... However HHH claims that he won’t let Vince try and weasel out of it, and that he wants the answers RIGHT...NOW!!! While the crowd pop for the game’s intensity (and even start a small “Triple H” chant) Vince nervously explains that he can’t do that right now. Hunter paces the ring angrily before suddenly changing his mind, claiming that “it doesn’t matter, because there’s no excuse for betraying his real family like this”. The chairman looks from Triple H to his daughter and attempts to apologise, claiming that he should have talked to them about it first... he then asks how he can make this right?... At this point a smile spreads across the face of the Cerebral Assassin, as he sees an opportunity. He tells Vince, that there is a way for him to make it right... and that’s by giving him a shot at the WWF title... Vince looks a bit shocked at first, but after considering it for a few seconds, starts to look ok and tells Hunter, that they could probably work something out... But this doesn’t satisfy Triple H, who demands a crystal-clear answer right here and now... does he have the title shot?... But before Vince can answer, things go from bad to worse for him.
The words “If you smell... what the Rock... is cooking” echo around the arena, and the fans explode with cheers as the The Rock makes his way down to the ring with a microphone in hand, and a scowl on his face. Vince stares back at him in fear, while Triple H and Steph look extremely displeased about the interruption. The Brahma Bull enters the ring, then when he completes his entrance and goes through his opening routine (finally, the rock has come back... to Houston). He tells Vince, that the only way he can avoid getting his candyass whipped across Texas, is by giving the Rock a rematch for the WWF championship, right here tonight. The crowd pop for the suggestion, however Rocky continues before Vince can reply... He explains, that over the years he and Steve had been in some wars, however whether Austin was opening a can of whoop ass on the Rock, or the Rock was laying the Smackdown on him, deep down the Rock always respected him, because Austin was a man who fought for what he believed in. He then reminds Vince that he once went down the same path, he was once Vince’s corporate champion. He asks McMahon if he remembers... McMahon goes to say “of course” but gets told that it doesn’t matter if he remembers. The Rock continues his story, saying that when The Rock was “Vince’s boy”, Austin would whip his ass for it, because that’s what he believed in and the Rock respected that... However he states that now The Rock sees him for what he truly is, and what he’ll truly be... and that’s the biggest two faced, bald headed bastard to ever be checked into, THE SMACKDOWN HOTEL!!!. The crowd pop yet again, while the Rock demands an answer from Vince... but he’s interrupted again, this time from his son-in-law..Triple H sarcastically tells the Great One that his story was “cute”, however crying won’t get you a title shot... beating the Undertaker with a sledgehammer so badly that he isn’t even going to be here tonight (the fans boo this news) is what gets you a title shot. The Rock responds by telling Triple H to keep his 15 foot nose out of the Rock’s business. HHH replies by claiming that if it involves the WWF title... then it involves him... The two men argue for another minute or so about who deserves the title shot more, when Vince finally decided to speak. He interrupts by yelling at them to stop, then yells at the Rock that he’s going to do everything in his power, to make sure that the Brahma Bull nevers sees that belt again!!!... The Rock scowls at McMahon, who then tells HHH, that if he comes backstage with him, he’ll try and arrange his title opportunity for some time in the future.
But things get more complicated, as a voice is heard throughout the arena. The crowd cheers as Linda McMahon appears on the titantron, from what looks like WWF headquarters. Vince stares at her in shock as she tells the crowd that after her long break (which Vince so kindly paid for), she has re-taken her post as the C.E.O of the WWF!!! And as her first action...” in the interest of fairness”, she announces that a number one contendership match for the WWF title will take place... between Triple H and The Rock... right here tonight. The crowd cheer for the decision, while Vince stares at his son to be ex-wife in anger and the Rock and Triple H stare menacingly at each other... However that isn’t all. Linda claims that she has a second announcement to make, and this one regards the broadcast team, or more specifically, Paul Heyman. (The camera focuses on Paul E, who’s eyes are wide with surprise) She goes on to remind the crowd about the time we saw Mick Foley sign the contract to become the special guest referee for the WM17 match between Vince and his son Shane. She reminds us that this was one of many contracts Mick signed that day... One of which stated that Mick could take up the post, of color broadcaster whenever he desired... and that he has decided to take the job, starting tonight. Therefore Paul’s services are no longer required... The fans cheer and J.R. laughs in glee while Paul stares at her, frozen in shock... Meanwhile the sound of a car crashing is heard, and Mick Foley makes his entrance, to a big ovation from the fans. Paul doesn’t make a move until Mick is standing right next to the table. At which point he slowly takes off his headset and stands up, looking heartbroken. A few security members come down to escort him away... and for a moment it looks like Paul isn’t going to cause any problems. However just as Mick sits down and is greeted by J.R. Heyman makes a run towards him, looking to attack!!! Only to be grabbed by the security staff just before he makes contact, and is dragged away screaming like a twat... Meanwhile Triple H and Stephanie also leave the ring. However Vince stays inside, glaring at Foley,( the man who helped his son defeat him the night before) who just happily gives him the thumbs up... A few seconds later, Vince turns around, and when it looks like things can’t get any worse... HE RECIEVES A ROCK BOTTOM!!!... The fans cheer happily as the Rock’s theme music starts to play. The Great One stares at Triple H, who looks back from the ramp with a bemused expression... Afterwards we leave this chaotic start to raw for a commercial break.
Match 1
Kane (c) VS Raven
Hardcore Championship
Before the match begins, Raven brings his usual shopping kart full of weapons down to the ring and uses them in all out offensive strategy against his much larger opponent. He beats Kane with all of the weapons in his arsenal, along with the trolley itself... However even though his attacks show a lot of bravery on his part, they don’t do much to weaken the Big Red Machine. Kane spends most of the match decimating the former champion with his raw power, no weapons required. After around 6 minutes into the contest, Kane seems to have it won after hitting several of his signature moves. He looks to finish it off by delivering a chokeslam... But in a moment of brilliance, Raven manages to grab his head in mid-air and counters it into the Raven Effect (DDT). The crowd gasp, thinking that they might be about to see an upset... But as Raven goes for the pin, Al Snow enters the ring and breaks it up!... He then hits Raven in the skull with his signature mannequin head and pins Kane himself, looking to take advantage of the title’s 24/7 rule... But unfortunately for him Kane kicks out. Afterwards Al’s idea is stolen by Steve Blackman, Hardcore Holly and Tazz who run down to the ring one after the other and begin a brawl, each also taking a turn to attempt to pin Kane... But eventually, in the middle of the chaos... Kane sits up. The crowd cheer as Kane takes it upon himself to chokeslam all 4 of the opportunists and then Raven who he chokeslams right onto the side of his own shopping kart. H | |
