Kyle_wwe's Review Of The Royal Rumble

IC Title match- Jeff Hardy(c) vs. Kennedy vs. Lashley: First off i would like to say that this sounds like a very good match that i would love to see in real life. All of their different styles would go together cool IMO. So far i am liking how Lashley is using his power to dominate the match. I really like how you had Lashley leap over the top rope, kinda like something Taker or Lesner would do. Just as i said at first, i like this match because of the three different styles, I like Kennedys loud mouth trash talking style, Jeffs high flier style and Lashleys power and they all go together well in this match. I like that Lashley won as I always wanted him to win the IC title. Cant really complain about this match because it is pretty good and realistic.

Royal Rumble number picks: I like how you have both the GMs backstage as well as the divas doing the tumbler. MVP is in character and so is HBK. For some reason i have a feeling these two will face at Mania, which would be great IMO. Lol at MVP getting a crap #.

Triple H vs. Umaga: I like how you do the refs count on the outside, describing what they are doing between each number. Umaga gets the Samoan spike out of no where and thats good, also good that Triple H kicks out of the pin fall. Good way to have Trips get the momentum back on his side, having Umaga miss the diving head butt. Umaga reversing the pedigree into a powerbomb is kinda unbelievable. I like how Umaga Samoan spiked the ref and getting a chair. Triple H using a low blow and using the chair is smart also. The only thing that i didnt like is that if Umaga Samoan spiked the ref, when the ref got up, wouldnt he DQ him? Anyways, a pretty good match, I wanted Umaga to go over Trips personally but thats just me.

Royal Rumble # pick: Edge seems in character. Hoping that he will win, as this is the only thing Edge hasnt done in the buisness.

World Heavyweight Title Match- Batista vs. Undertaker: Im half way threw the match right now and there is nothing i dont like. Alot of great back and forth action. You describe well and i really like your style. I like how you are having Tista sell his shoulder the whole match so far. I like the reverse from a chokeslam to a DDT. I dont like how Taker used the last ride as he doesent use it much anymore but its good that Tista didnt lose to that move. I like how Tista is kicking out of everything that Taker can throw at him, good stuff. A tombstone on the announce table would be HUGE! But wouldnt Taker be DQed? I would think so but maby thats just me. Taker kicking out of the bomb is great. I didnt want Tista to win at all. I wish Taker would have won but that was still a great match. MOTN for sure (so far).

Carlito/Morrison/Hardys: I like the sound of a Carlito/Morrison tag team. Could be a great combination. Maby a Hardys v. Carlito & Morrison at No way out? Or Mania?

WWE Title Match- Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton(c): I've never heard Jericho called the "King Of Bling" before. Anyways. So far a good match up with both of them controlling some of the match. I noticed that you had Jericho catch Ortons foot a few times, why wouldnt he go for the walls? I didnt like how the ref got knocked out for the second match in a row. That sucks that Orton won, especially because it was Jerichos last shot. I was hoping for a transitional champion kinda thing, maby Jericho loses it on Raw or No Way Out. But its all good.

Royal Rumble Match- Hoping Edge will win the match. MVP and Mysterio are two pretty good starters to the match. I guess MVP wont see Shawn. I like how you had Hardy, Mysterio and MVP all eliminate Snitsky. A good way to get him out of the match but still make him look strong. I dont like how they are still working together but i really like how you had MVP eliminate Jeff from behind. I like how V is just beating them all down with headbutts. Kane hitting the chokeslam on V is kinda unbelievable IMO. Kane eliminating him is good though as he is the only believable person to do it. Kane is going on a elimination spree with 3 in a row, i like that, maby he will break his previous record? Why would JBL eliminate Rey? He was a commentator when the match started. Rey did nothing. Kinda weird and I didnt like that at all because there was no reason for it. I like how you had Kane, Matt, Kennedy and Flair eliminated Henry, same as V, good way to get him out but still make him look strong. I really like how MVP distracted Matt by holding his US title. Maby a title match at Mania? Would be nice. Im liking Khali eliminating three in a row, i wonder who will get more eliminations, Kane or Khali? Maby they will eliminated each other. NVM, at Kane and Khali eliminating each other but still a good way to get the new team of Carlito and John over by eliminating the largest men in the match. Triple H elimininating Umaga is good because it will help continue their feud, i was hoping that Umaga would get pissed and come back in and eliminate Trips. Pretty good stuff having Triple H and Shawn slugging it out mid ring, i was thinking they would work together but this is good to. Maby Trips and Shawn will work together, after that elimination on Kennedy. Some good picks for your final four, Lashley, Edge, Trips and HBK. I always find that hte final four in the Rumble (in real life atlease) always do big things in the coming years, maby a Lashley world title reign? Anyways. I like how Edge ducked the sweet chin chin, a good way to get Trips out without having Shawn turn on him. Wow a great rumble with Edge winning just like i wanted. Cant wait to see if he faces his former partner Orton or his long time rival, Batista at Mania.

Overall: A great PPV. Great matchs. Some good backstage stuff. A great Rumble. Overall it was great. I really like your style and i was wondering if i could use it. What font do you use?

Default Re: WWE: A New Year Revolution

The Royal Rumble Poster: Batista the main theme of the poster, Does this mean he will be retaining the championship, I ask myself, Anyway this was a good poster

Opening Promo: This was very well written, gets us readers more up for the rumble and makes us want to read on, Very good

Match 1: What a way to kick of The Royalrumble, I mean this 100%, What a match, the length was good and their was really nothing bad to say about this match, I am pleased to see Bobby Lashley picked up the victory as i would like a push for him

MVP and Michaels Promo: Good Promo, Both men in character, Liked MVPs confidence and liked Michaels looking over MVPs shoulder to see his number

Match 2: To tell you the truth i wasnt really interested in this match, I feel this rivalry has went on for aslong as it could, I would have liked to see Umaga pick up the victory, I do not know why but just would but i know Triple H should not lose to Umaga at the rumble, anyway the match was actually alright, as good as it could have been in my opinion, the length again was very good

Edge Promo: This was a nice filler, he seems really up for it and if MVP was not to win the rumble ( Please god he does ) here is a man that i would love to see win it, I believe it would be very unique

Match 3: In my opinion the best match so far of the night and i never thought the third match would be better than the first coz the first was really really good, Anyway this match was very entertaining and i just didnt no who was going to walk out victorios, you chose Randy Orton and i feel you made the correct decsion, Orton was in character even though it was a match with him basically cheating to get the win, Good match!!!!!

Sorry i just noticed i totally missed the Batista Undertaker match

The Actual Match 3 ( lol ): This was a decent match, Nowere near as good as Orton Jericho in my opinion, Not alot of people would have liked your choice in winners but i personally was, Batista getting the win is great, I think you like Batista but i am not sure

The Royal Rumble Match: This is a match i am dreading to write for my own BTB but you done one hell of a job in my opinion, I thought it was written very well and wrote out neatly which helped reading it, The match went on for ages as expected and had a good flow to the match in my opinion, I was thinking to myself Shawn Michaels is going to get the win but i am over happy that he didnt and the rated R Superstar Edge did, Now my only problem is Edge against Batista at Mania but somehow i do not think this will happen again, I would be really surprised if their wasnt any changes and shock storylines in between this very lengthy time

Overall: This was a very good show, Great detail in the matches, your best point is the matches, you write them in great detail and keep the flow good which helps the entertainment of the match, The only bad thing i would say is promos, Dont want to go on about it to much as it would make it like i never enjoyed this show when i did but i personally like lengthy promos on your PPVs but anyway i give the show a 9/10 Good luck in the future

Lashley beats Kennedy and Hardy: 8/10
Great opening contest. Great to see Lashley get the big win. I hope you plan to take Hardy out of the IC title picture and have a Kennedy/Lashley feud from here. The big point pf the match was probably the superplex/powerbomb combo. It's come expected in the WWE.

Michaels/MVP segment: 7/10
I think Royal Rumble segments were meant to be funny, but this is just as good. I'm assuming that Porter has a number above 15, so Shawn getting under his skin is a good call.

Triple H beats Umaga: 8.5/10
First off, it's good to see Umaga show his rage and come right out and attack Hunter at the start. The Samoan spike to the ref was pretty okay. Triple H seemed too dominant near the end. I mean, I at least expected a Samoan spike countered into the pedigree, but I guess you wanted to show that Hunter was not fooling around.

Edge stayed in character on the segment, but it seemed like it was too short.

Batista beats Untertaker: 8/10
Good job on this match. I was wondering how you would approach this feud. Anyhow, I was really expecting that the tombstone through the table would be the end, but that doesn't sound realistic. I can't really imagine 'Taker coming off the top and trying to hit his brother's clothesline, so I guess that was his big mistake that costed him the match. Looking forward to seeing where you go from here.

Awesome set-up for the Hardy boys to enter a feud with Carlito and Morrison.

Orton beat Jericho: 8.5/10
Orton's roll-up using the ropes was pretty nice, much like New Year's Revolution, but Jericho kicking out was even better. Awesome ending with the referee being knocked down. And as he's getting up, Orton hits the low blow, following with the RKO and the pin. Great to see Jericho out of the title picture. Leaves room for the Rumble winner to face Orton.

Edge wins the Royal Rumble Match: 9/10
I was pretty foolish to vote for Matt Hardy. Ken Kennedy eliminating him seemed like the probable call to make. Carlito and Morrison eliminating Kane and Khali seemed like the perfect set-up for a tag team match in the near-future. DX eliminating Kennedy was not too bad. The double back body drop was innovative. Edge was actually a good choice. I should've voted for him instead. Michael's elimination was nice, but it could've ended with the popular spear. Anyway, great ending.

Overall: 96/100 = A

Four out of five ain't bad. DH6, you've come a long way since Slammer. TheROCK RULZ_23, I don't know you all that well, but you seem like a pretty good match-booker as well. Looking forward to see where you two are headed as the road to WrestleMania has begun. I'll be reading.

P.S. DH6, thanks for the points.

Howdy guys. I'm sorry this review is kinda late, but I let you know that I was gonna get to you at the Rumble-here it is. Some flaws, but it was mostly overall a very good PPV. Let's get to feedbacking...

619's Feedback For DH6 & (though he wants no credit, he'll get some anyway) TheROCK RULZ_23s Royal Rumble

The main thing I liked about your match writing was that it was well spaced out. I never got lost in any of the matches. Well...okay, I got lost in some, but only because the combatants did uncharacteristic things at times. This first match for the IC title was one of them-Lashley choking someone in the corner. I pretty much skimmed over the first two matches (sorry ), but I did pick up some things. Good to see Lash retain, but I'll be looking more on how each performs tonight in the RR.

Alright, thruought the show I like the little segments that showed tension between all the Rumble combatants. It pretty much made the match more worthwhile than it already would be when each of those men really don't like each other. Anyway, decent promo here with a small exception-Michaels was a wee out of character. Michaels mentioning the succesive Rumble wins was out of character-Shawn doesn't really promote himself (unless he's heel).

Skimmed this one-I apologize again. However, I will say that, yet again, I still love your match writing format. Your style-I'll get into more of that in the next match. Good choice with the Trips win here.

Edge in a segment alone...foreshadowing maybe? I really see him winning the Rumble with this segment, to be honest.

Ah, now we get to the nitty gritty-the world title matches. The first flaw I noticed in your writing layout was the fact that your countouts didn't stick out of the match. There was only one, but I might not have noticed it had I not been so into it. Really great match here, though the flow was klunky. Signature move after signature move, and then there was one moment that confused me. When Batista attempted a Batista Bomb, it says that 'Taker reversed it into a Last Ride...awkward reversal. I couldn't really picture it, but now I'm curious now that Batista retains. The ending seemed rushed, too.

A new faction on the block, eh? Nitro/Carlito sounds sweet. Can't really comment on Matt's mike skills here since he's not that great on the mike anyway.

Y2J/RKO was pretty sweet here, but again, klunky. Failed sig after failed sig, kickout finisher after kickout finisher. I thought it was better than 'Tista/'Taker, but the finish flawed it. Not sure why Jericho didn't win here-unless you've got something real big planned for the title come the next few months.

Alright, here we go-the Royal Rumble match. I have to say, I was almost looking at a re-run of last year's when Rey came in first lol. The whole match in itself was great, though Khali getting eliminated by just two people is really out there. I know you were trying to make Nitro/Carlito look strong, but Khali requires several more people to move. That aside, the rest of the match was great...and the result was shocking. More on that in a bit...

FINAL THOUGHTS: WELL PLANNED OUT, GREAT BUT KLUNKY MATCHES. The matches themselves were great, but like I said, alot of the flow felt really klunky and uneven for me. It's probably just me, but I can't really take anything away from the show. Edge winning is sort of a blessing and a curse, seeing as how he's a top heel going into 'Mania for a title...not a whole lot of momentum can be built. That or the fact that a Rumble win might be what it takes to turn Edge back face-which I wouldn't subscribe, but if that's what this leads to-gung ho. Slight character flaws, even out match flow, and this is set to go places
OVERALL: 8.5/10

I'm going to post the preview for Raw, but Royal Rumble Reviews are still welcome

---

WWE Raw Preview
January 28, 2007
Buffalo, New York

Just twenty-four hours after The Royal Rumble, what will implode on Monday Night Raw as we head towards No Way Out.

Randy Orton was one man who was successful at The Royal Rumble, defeating Chris Jericho in a Last Chance Match to retain his WWE Championship. With Jericho out of the title picture, who will be next in line for Orton's precious championship? And what's next for The Savoir?

Triple H may have finally got Umaga off of his back by defeating him at The Royal Rumble. It may have taken a Steel Chair, a Sledgehammer and a Pedigree to get the job done, but his hand was raised and that's all that matters.

Bobby Lashley pulled through in a Triple Threat Match to win his first Intercontinental Championship. What's in store for the new champion? Who will be next to step up to the plate?

Shawn Michaels came so close to winning The Royal Rumble Match by making it to the final two. What kinds of feelings and emotions will Shawn be having?

Last week we found out that Mr. McMahon's illegetimate son, Hornswoggle, will be in action this week. Who will the little guy go up against?

Find out the answers to these questions and more by tuning into
Monday Night Raw.
Confirmed for Raw

Umaga vs. Chris Jericho

DH Smith vs. Santino Marella w/Maria

Hornswoggle vs. ???

Jeff Hardy vs. John Morrison

---

Raw will probably be posted on New Year's Day. This will hopefully give some people more time finish a Royal Rumble review if they've started one.

WWE Monday Night Raw
January 28th, 2008
Buffalo, New York

**We are shown a clip from last night at The Royal Rumble. It shows Lashley winning the Intercontinental Championship, Triple H defeating Umaga, Batista retaining the World Heavyweight Championship, Randy Orton retaining the WWE Championship, and Edge last eliminating Shawn Michaels to win the Royal Rumble Match**

"To Be Loved" plays throughout the arena

*PYRO*
*PYRO*
*PYRO*
*PYRO*
*PYRO*

**We are shown thousands of WWE fans throughout the audience waving their signs in the air and cheering**

JR: Just 24 hours after the spectacle, The Royal Rumble, we present to you Monday Night Raw, live from Buffalo, New York! This is Jim Ross, along side Jerry 'The King' Lawler, and King, I still can't get over how amazing The Royal Rumble turned out to be.

King: You said it, JR! There were some amazing matches last night!!

JR: Speaking of amazing matches, later tonight, the man who got screwed out of the WWE Championship, Chris Jericho, will go one-on-one with the man who was defeated by Triple H, Umaga!

King: Neither of these guys will be happy, JR, and I can guarantee that they will take it out on each other!

**BURN IN MY LIGHT**

The WWE Champion, Randy Orton, walks out with his title over his shoulder to major heat. Orton is dressed in a t-shirt and black tights, even though we are informed that he isn't scheduled to compete. He gets in the ring, and the crowd does not let up on the heat.

Randy Orton: Is booing the only thing that you people know how to do, because it seems like every time I come out here, that's all I hear.

"You-Suck! You-Suck"

Randy Orton: Is it because you're all jealous of my charming good looks?

Heat

Randy Orton: Or maybe it's because you don't like the fact that I'm the WWE Champion.

More Heat

Randy Orton: But the real reason why you continously boo me, is because time after time I beat Chris Jericho.

Huge Heat

Randy Orton: I mean, we all know that Chris is probably a little rusty since he just returned a couple of months ago, but he can't possibly use that as an excuse. I mean, c'mon, Chris, you're always going on about how you're going to save all of these people from me, how you will be their Savoir, and leave as the WWE Champion. (Orton chuckles to himself) Well, sorry Chris, it was a nice attempt, but it wasn't good enough against me!

Large Heat

Randy Orton: But really, you have nothing to be ashamed of, Chris. Triple H and Shawn Michaels both suffered the exact same fate, so now the question is, what's next. What's next for me, The Legend Killer.. The WWE Champion? The way I see it, there's not a superstar back in that locker room who deserves a shot at this title, so for now, I might a well sit back and relax while I wait for someone to step up to my league.

Orton pauses and looks around the arena at a bunch of fans trashing him

Randy Orton: I have eliminated all of the competition... I have destroyed challenger after challenger, and there is nobody back in that roster who put on as good of a showing last night as I did!!

Orton gets some decent heat

Randy Orton: So from here on out... it is officially the beginning of the Orton Era!!

Orton holds up his title in his right hand to celebrate the 'Orton Era'

Randy Orton: And with that said, let's ge-

**POWER OF THE PUNCH**

William Regal walks out onto the stage and gets a mixed reaction, with some people hating him like always, and some people glad that he shut Orton up.

William Regal: Mister Orton! Now by the sounds of things, you feel that nobody back there deserves a shot at your WWE Championship, because they didn't perform as well as you last night at The Royal Rumble?

Orton nods his head in the ring

William Regal: Well I'm afraid that isn't so!! There is one superstar who put on quite a showing last night at The Royal Rumble, and since you decided to be so arrogent, you will have to put your WWE Title on the line against him, and you will have to do it right now!!

Orton looks shocked and infuriated as the crowd cheers.

**SEXY BOY**

The crowd goes wild as Shawn Michaels goes down to the ring.

***COMMERCIAL BREAK***

Match 1
WWE Championship
Randy Orton(c) vs. Shawn Michaels

The two put on a fairly good opening match, especially on this short notice for the Buffalo fans. The finish comes when both Michaels and Orton are on the outside of the ring, and Orton crawls towards the timekeepers box. Michaels walks over to him, and gets cluncked in the head with Orton's championship belt for the DQ
Winner: Shawn Michaels at 6:32

William Regal is still on the stage and begins to talk

William Regal: Mister Orton!! If you think that you're going to get off easy because you got yourself disqualified, then you better think again! Because of your actions, you will have to defend your WWE Championship against someone else who put on a good showing last night at The Royal Rumble, and that will be happening right now!

**THE GAME**

The crowd goes crazy as Triple H enters. Orton looks chaotic as Regal leaves

Match 2
WWE Championship
Randy Orton(c) vs. Triple H

The match turned out to be solid, with Triple H having the upperhand because Orton had already competed. The finish comes when Triple H goes for the Pedigree, but Orton twists around and then delivers the RKO for the pin fall victory.Winner: Randy Orton at 5:37

Orton holds up his WWE Title and leaves

***COMMERCIAL BREAK***

We cut to the backstage area to see an office that has William Regal in it. Shawn Michaels storms in.

Shawn Michaels: Regal, I was screwed out there from becoming the WWE Champion, and you damn well know it! I want a rematch, and I want it tonight!

William Regal: Shawn, Shawn, just please calm down and you just may get a rematch! Now I know that Triple H will probably storm in here for a rematch as well, so I'll give you both a chance. What's going to be happening, is that Randal Orton will be defending his WWE Championship at No Way Out. And to decide his opponent, later on in the main event, it will be Shawn Michaels, going one-on-one... with Triple H!!

Huge Pop

Shawn stares at Regal before leaving

And what makes it worse, is that I lost to that over-sized freak of nature, Bobby Lashley!

Heat

John: Yeah, well that's real nice, Kennedy, but you see, Bobby Lashley is a lot weaker than you think. Bobby Lashley doesn't deserve that Intercontinental Championship. If there's anybody that should be holding it, it should be me!

Heat from the crowd as Carlito nods his head

John: And I'm about to prove that once I defeat a former Intercontinental Champion himself, Jeff Hardy.

Shane McMahon: Look, William, I'm sure that if Coach wasn't fulfilling his duties as Executive Assistant, I would notice. And I bet none of you here know why. Yeah, you people don't have a clue. You know why? Huh, do you know? It's because you people are too clueless to know!!
