This date is exactly two weeks away from today. I will post the Official Preview Next Saturday, but you can start making your predictions now if you wish.

The card looks great, but why is there only one Smackdown! match?

Re: DH6 and TheROCK RULZ_23 present WWE: A New Year Revolution
AJ-The reason why there's only one SD! match is because I just took over SmackDown recently, and there wasn't enough time to really develop a match for the Rumble. My appologies for this.
Here's some notes regarding the Royal Rumble Matches
Quote:
Royal Rumble-There are many big stars that could win the Royal Rumble, such as Triple H, Edge, Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Ric Flair, or Finlay, and even those that are unexpected, like CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, and other mid-carders. It's definitely a toss-up at this point, but the final two in the Rumble have been decided. The creative staff is still deciding which would be better to win the Rumble. The Rumble winner will most likely win the World Title/WWE Title at Mania, unless something different comes up. The Royal Rumble is always full of surprises, and this year may not be any different
Orton vs. Jericho-Most people on the creative team would like to see the end of the Orton/Jericho feud which is why they set up the Last Chance Match. However, others feel that they can put the title on Jericho and still end the feud, possibly with Orton getting injured, some interference, or some other ideas. At this point, Orton is the favourite to win, but some are still pushing for the title to be put on Jericho.
Batista vs. Undertaker: The entire creative team is sick of this feud, but Vince kept pushing it along, even though there was no point. Undertaker is the favourite to win, because the creative team's afraid that having Undertaker continuously lose to Batista would make him look weak. However, some think that it would be better for Undertaker to win a World Title at Mania, rather than defend it. Chances are that Undertaker will walk away with the gold at this point, but nothing has been confirmed.
Lashley vs. Hardy vs. Kennedy-Kennedy is expected to drop the title, since he will be involved in a storyline with the McMahons. Lashley is a favourite, because he had a confrontation with Morrison on an episode of Raw, which could lead to a feud between the two. However, the staff would like to see Jeff win it, and then him face his brother Matt, since they'd both be champs. It's definitely a toss-up between Hardy and Lashley, with Kennedy out of the picture...but never count anyone out.
Triple H vs. Umaga: Umaga has been jobbing quite a bit lately, especially to Triple H, so we may see the same thing. If Umaga wins, the rivalry will continue, which is not wanted backstage. Triple H is expected to become the WWE Champion sometime soon, so this win could definitely boost him there. However, there is also talk about Umaga winning the title soon, so a win for him could help that push.

Hey,
I don't know if i am still doin Smackdown, but i hope i am.
The reason i have not been online is because there was a huge icestorm out where i live, and i just got electric about a hour ago.
If i still am doing Smackdown, i think i will write one match for the rumble then i will start doing Smackdown after the rumble.

Re: DH6 and TheROCK RULZ_23 present WWE: A New Year Revolution
Raw Review
Don’t take offense to anything I say. It’s all to help.
Right off the bat, I noticed that you’ve made a couple of mistakes when it comes to spelling and all that jazz. When referring to a place, the word to use is ‘there’ not ‘their’, which shows possession (and “they‘re” is short for ‘they are’). Hunter’s part was alright. He seemed to change temperament rather quickly but it was okay. Once Michaels came out, it went downhill. I think you tried to get too cute with the Michaels-Hunter relationship and it came off forced and awkward. Same with Jericho, except worse since he’s never been a fan of Triple H (or Michaels really). Orton was solid. Vince’s part was short and he should’ve addressed Helmsley’s comments from earlier. The matches set up for later tonight are pretty solid as well.
The Kennedy-Regal segment was off. Why would Regal cave in so easily to Kennedy’s threats? He should’ve threatened to strip him of the title if he didn’t compete, not just make a different match for the Royal Rumble. And how did he have another match set up for Kennedy, when you just said that KK would be facing Hardy and Lashley moments ago? Huge gap in logic.
Beth squashes Kelly? Good move.
Ugh, Santino is awesome but yet you have him lose to the roided-up moron and the ECW jobber? For shame. J/k, actually probably a decent move to have Smith go over here since Carlito and Santino can regain their heat relatively quickly on the mic.
Really not a fan of Hornswoggle, and most certainly don’t want to see him action. It’s run it’s course on television but I’m willing to give this a chance. Wonder who he’ll be facing next week…
With Shane McMahon in the match, the monster is the one who takes the pinfall in the match up? That’s definitely a booking mistake, especially since Umaga is heading into a PPV match with Triple H at the PPV. What’s Shane doing? Nothing. And he’s not even a wrestler. Have him take the loss.
Decent match. Obviously a smart move to have Jeff Hardy go over John Morrison, building up momentum heading into the IC Title Triple Threat.
“I am tired of being treated like I mean absolutely everything!” Pretty sure you meant nothing instead of everything. Anyway, a decent promo from Orton though it was quite a bit short and ended just as it seemed Orton was picking up a healthy bit of momentum. Do yourself a favor and use the last name or whole name of the wrestler who’s speaking. Not only is it the standard, and look better, but it’s what we know the wrestlers as. I say ‘Steve’, that can be a couple of people. I say ‘Austin’, you get who I’m talking about.
"Hellfire and Brimstone" is Ross’ phrase. Kane’s a nice addition and I’m very glad Kennedy came out of this (the match at least) looking like he could hang with Kane. The aftermath was good as well with the other two competitors in the 3threat getting involved, but I doubt the crowd would cheer Lashley for spearing Hardy. Still, a nice way to give the match some momentum.
Carlito/Morrison tandem? Interesting.
Two hours through the show and I'm still not what the exact stipulation for this main event is? The stipulation will be taken away? What are the stipulations? Definitely should've been elaborated on at some point throughout the show. Anyway, nice match with a nice finish; Orton getting the victory by the skin of his teeth. Jericho's attack afterward was unnecessary but didn't hurt anything.
Overall, a decent show. A few booking mistakes here and there but my main problem with the show deal with semantics, improper usage of the word 'their', lack of detail to the main event stipulations, etc. Not a bad one.

I will still be doing Smackdown in this thread!

Velocity results
Mike Knox defeats Funaki
Shannon Moore defeats Jesse
Dave Taylor defeats Nunzio

Smackdown news/Notes
Quote:
After the Royal Rumble, Smackdown looks to host a 8 man tournament with the winner facing the World Heavyweight Champion at No Way Out. No word if that will happen or not.
There are talks of possibly a Hardcore Battle Royal on the next Smackdown for the Hardcore Championship. A Hardcore Battle Royal is the same as a Battle Royal except there is weapons scattered all over the ring.
There are also talks of maybe a push of Dave Taylor. He has been working Velocity shows for a while now. But some people on the creative team would like to see him as a contender for the US Title.

Re: DH6 and TheROCK RULZ_23 present WWE: A New Year Revolution
Mac-Thanks for the review, I appreciate it, and I'm repping it right now. Just to clear things up about the stipulations, it was that if Orton purposely got himself disqualified or counted out at the Rumble, he would lose the title, but if Jericho didn't win the title, he would never get a shot at the title again during Orton's current title reign.
---
My apologies for forgetting this in the final card post, but you can also guess the match order and answer some pre-show questions I'm about to post. We will add up your scores at the end, and the person with the most will get rep, and points. Not sure how many points right now, but probably around 10k (geesh, we're poor people!) If it's a tie, well, that hasn't been decided yet. Anyways, here's what you need.
Match Order
1-
2-
3-
4-
5-
Pre-Show Questions
1) Will there be any interference during the Triple H/Umaga match?
2)What superstar will enter at number 1 in the Rumble Match?
3)What superstar will enter at number 30 in the Rumble Match?
4) Who will get the most eliminations in the Royal Rumble Match?
5) Who will last the shortest amount of time in the Royal Rumble Match?
Some people have already placed their match predictions, so they already have some points, but please take a minute to fill out these and your predictions if you haven't already
Thanks,
DH6 and The Rock

Re: WWE: A New Year Revolution
Royal Rumble Preview

Event: Royal Rumble
Date: Sunday January 27th, 2008
Location: New York City, New York
Event Music: "Scars" by Papa Roach
Brands: Raw and SmackDown! -->Cross Brand

The 2008 Royal Rumble Match
Confirmed Superstars: Big Daddy V, Bobby Lashley, Boogeyman, Carlito, DH Smith, Jeff Hardy, John Morrison, Mr. Kennedy, Santino Marella, Shawn Michaels, Shelton Benjamin, Snitsky, The Miz, Triple H, Umaga, Chavo Guerrero, Chuck Palumbo, CM Punk, Edge, Elijah Burke, Finlay, Kane, Kenny Dykstra, Mark Henry, Matt Hardy, MVP, Rey Mysterio, Ric Flair, The Great Khali, Tommy Dreamer
***
Thirty men will battle inside the squared circle. For just one of them, their dream will come true, and they will headline the main event of WrestleMania. Things can get shocking, things can get surprising, and things can get out of hand in a hurry. Many superstars have stated that they will win the Royal Rumble Match, but there can only be one winner.
***

Last Chance Match for the WWE Championship
Randy Orton(c) vs. Chris Jericho
***
The WWE Champion, Randy Orton, has managed to hold onto his championship since October. Whether he's cheated, screwed, or even been dominated by his opponents, he's still walked away with his gold. However, Orton has a tough challenge to face in The Savior, Chris Jericho. Orton cheated in their last encounter for the title, but this time around, Jericho will have none of it.
After winning the contract match on Raw, Orton's stipulation of losing the title if he gets himself purposely counted out or disqualified has been taken off. However, Jericho's stipulation of this is his last shot at the title during Orton's current title reign, is still on. However, don't count The Savior out just because The Legend Killer has the upper edge going into the match. Jericho has been remembered for his fighting spirit and his will to win.
These two will face off for what may be the last time at the Royal Rumble, and you can bet that whoever comes out on top, will have earned it.
***

World Heavyweight Championship
Batista(c) vs. The Undertaker
***
It was known as the rivalry of 2007... The rivalry of the decade... the rivalry of the century. These two men have been through it all; WrestleMania, Last Man Standing, Steel Cage, Special Referees, and even Hell in a Cell. The Royal Rumble will feature the sixth chapter between these two warriors, and after what we've seen in the past, we hope that this chapter isn't the last.
Both champion and challenger have made their statements during the past couple of weeks. It was Undertaker a couple of weeks ago who first signalled that he wanted the World Title, but just one week later, Batista nailed The Deadman with a Spear. Undertaker gained the advantage going into their match at the Royal Rumble this past Friday night on SmackDown!, when he Chokeslammed Batista.
These two rams will lock horns at the Royal Rumble, but who will be the one who holds up the World Title at the end of the encounter?
***

Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Mr. Kennedy(c) vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Lashley
***
Mr. Kennedy hasn't been the happiest guy of the new year, and who can blame him, after losing to Jeff Hardy once, and Bobby Lashley twice. Kennedy's losing streak to his triple threat opponents began at New Year's Revolution, after The Real Deal, Bobby Lashley defeated him in Lashley's return match. The following night on Raw, Lashley helped Jeff Hardy pick up a win against the upstart from Green Bay, leaving Kennedy frustrated.
However, don't count the cocky Green Bay Warrior out. He managed to defeated the newest and big addition to the Raw Roster, Kane, this past Monday Night on Raw. Kennedy's victory turned out to be short-lived after a Twist of Fate from Hardy, who was soon speared by Lashley.
The Triple Threat for Kennedy's Intercontinental Championship could go either way, but the deciding factor is who wants it more?
***

Singles Match
Umaga vs. Triple H
***
And so it continues. The hatrid rivalry that left fans gasping from their scars, bruises, crushes bodies, and pools of blood. But their encounter at The Royal Rumble will be different. Umaga looks to finally defeat The Game, while Triple H hopes to get rid of The Samoan Bulldozer once and for all.
Things began between these two in September of last year. Since then, it has been living hell for both superstars. Triple H has fallen victim to several beatdowns, one of recent that just happened two weeks ago. However, The King of Kings always manages to pull through and knock off Umaga.
What will happen when these two stare down each other once more. Will Triple H continue to upset Umaga, or will The Samoan Bulldozer unleash something we've never seen before?
