WWE Monday Night Raw

Monday February 12th, 2008
Greensboro, North Carolina

*6 DAYS BEFORE NO WAY OUT*

"To Be Loved" plays throughout the arena as fireworks blast off the stage. JR and King welcome us to the show and say that we have an action packed show planned for tonight.

Non-Title Tag Team Match
World Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. John Morrison vs. Carlito

The Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley does commentary for this match, scouting his No Way Out opponent, John Morrison. In Carlito and Morrison's first tag team match together, they put on quite a good showing. London and Kendrick come out with their high flying style and hit some big moves on Morrison and Carlito. However, the new duo came back after Morrison illegally kicked Kendrick in the spine from the apron. Morrison and Carlito made frequent tags back and forth and isolated Kendrick in their half of the ring. Kendrick eventually fought back and got the tag to London. He hit some high-impact moves, but only got near falls. Morrison managed to save the match on several occasions, before getting tagged into the ring. After some more back and forth action, Morrison got the finish after Carlito held Kendrick by the foot on the apron, and Morrison hit the Corkscrew Neck breaker on London.
Winners via pin fall: John Morrison & Carlito at 10:53
Aftermath: Morrison and Carlito celebrated in the ring while Lashley stood up on the outside. Morrison pointed at Lashley's Intercontinental Championship before he and Carlito left.

We cut to the backstage area to see DH Smith walking down a hallway. Maria walks up to him and timidly begins to talk to him. She thanks him for saving her last week from Santino, and that she really appreciates before she leaves.

{Commercials}

Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon are all sitting in a room backstage, when Mr. Kennedy walks in. Kennedy says he's still feeling the McMahon greatness, but he asks Vince why he's not involved in No Way Out. Vince goes to put him in a match at No Way Out, but Stephanie cuts him off. She tells Kennedy that since she has authority, she'll put Kennedy in a match, but it won't be this Sunday, it will be tonight. She says he should go get prepared. Stephanie puts on a smirk as Kennedy stares at her before leaving.

Tag Team Match
WWE Women's Champion Mickie James & Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina

Before the match-up starts, JR and King tell us that Raw General Manager William Regal has set up a match for No Way Out, and it will pit Mickie James defending her title against Beth Phoenix in a Two out of Three Falls Match. Mickie and Melina started out in the ring, with Mickie and Candice making frequent tags, gaining an advantage. Melina desperately pulled Candice down by the hair to shift the momentum back into their favour. Melina and Beth dominated Candice, but she eventually fought back and got the tag to Mickie. Mickie began to build some momentum, getting all over Beth. After some big moves, Mickie went for the cover, but it was broken up by Melina. Candice wouldn't put up with it, and got into a cat fight on the outside. Mickie got up, only to be raked in the eyes by Beth, and then hit the Cradle Suplex on Mickie for the pin fall victory.
Winners via pin fall: Beth Phoenix & Melina at 6:49
Aftermath: Beth and Melina head up the ramp as Beth signals that she wants the Women's Title.

SmackDown! Rewind
-Rey Mysterio qualifies for the Elimination Chamber
-The Great Khali qualifies for the Elimination Chamber
-Ric Flair qualifies for the Elimination Chamber
-Teddy Long tells Edge that he will compete at No Way Out against a Mystery Opponent

{Commercials}

Kane vs. DH Smith
DH Smith got a small advantage in the beginning with the upset. He hit some forearm shivers and punches, but Kane came back with a vicious clothesline. The Big Red Machine then dominated the rookie Smith. The son of The British Bulldog tried to fight back, but it wasn't enough, and Kane destroyed him with a devastating Choke Slam for the pin fall victory.
Winner via pin fall: Kane at 5:01
Aftermath: Kane stared down at DH Smith, before picking him up, and planting him with another Choke Slam. The Big Red Machine then sadistically laughed before leaving.

We cut to the backstage area to see Todd Grisham. He announces his interview guest, Chris Jericho, who gets a tremendous pop. Jericho says that Kane giving DH Smith two Choke Slams was pathetic, and if he was trying to make a statement, he didn't make one. Jericho says Kane has some serious problems, and thinks that attacking people for no reason will get him far in this business. Jericho says Kane is a load of crap, and once he gets through Santino Marella tonight, Kane will be in for a hell of a match up this Sunday.

We see Bobby Lashley backstage leaving with his Intercontinental Championship over his shoulder, when suddenly; Carlito walks up to him to a lot of heat. Carlito says that he hopes Lashley was scouting Morrison closely, because he'll be full of surprises this Sunday, and right now. Lashley looks confused, but moments later, Morrison attacks him from behind, knocking him down. Morrison and Carlito beat down on Lashley, before they leave.

~JR and King preview the Raw Matches for No Way Out in this order:
Kane vs. Chris Jericho
Bobby Lashley vs. John Morrison w/Carlito
Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix
Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H

Mr. Kennedy w/Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon & Stephanie McMahon vs. Jeff Hardy
Mr. Kennedy and Jeff Hardy put on a great match, with the fans really getting behind the Rainbow Haired Warrior. Jeff controlled the opening part of the contest, but Kennedy fought back and the momentum swung into his corner. Kennedy used some ground and pound style along with some submission holds, but Hardy fought back and used his high-flying tactics to gain control. Hardy got the crowd pumped up with some high impact moves, but when he headed to the top turnbuckle for the Swanton Bomb, Vince hopped up on the apron. As the referee went over to Vince to get him off of the apron, Shane nailed Jeff in the back with a Steel Chair, causing him to fall down onto the mat. Kennedy picked him up and then delivered the Mike Check for the victory.
Winner via pin fall: Mr. Kennedy at 15:32
Aftermath: Vince, Kennedy and Shane all celebrated in the ring, while Stephanie just stood there beside them with a frown on her face.

{Commercials}

~A video airs promoting the DVD "Raise Hell," which is in stores now.

Chris Jericho vs. Santino Marella w/Maria
Marella and Jericho put on a good match, with Jericho getting all over Marella in the opening part of the contest. The tables turned when Marella hit a drop toe hold to Jericho, causing him to go face first into the second turnbuckle. Marella punched and stomped all over Jericho, only for The Lion Heart to get back into the match with an Ensiugiri. Jericho began to build some momentum. After some high-impact moves, Marella raked Jericho in the eyes and lifted him on his shoulders, but Jericho wiggled out and locked in the Walls of Jericho, forcing Marella to tap.
Winner via submission: Chris Jericho at 6:57
Aftermath: Jericho celebrates his victory before Kane makes his way down to the ring. The two brawl in the ring, before taking it to the outside. Eventually, Kane Choke Slams Jericho right onto the steel ring steps.

{Commercials}

~We are shown a video package on Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels and Triple H separately while the contract signing is being set up.

The ring is set up for the contract signing, with a table and a contract, along with William Regal and Coach in the ring. **Burn In My Light** hits and the WWE Champion, Randy Orton, walks down to the ring. He gets in and says that he's the WWE Champion, and making him sign something stating that he will defend his title is disrespectful. He is then interrupted by **Sexy Boy** as out comes Shawn Michaels to a huge pop. Shawn says that Orton is crazy to think that having to sign a paper is disrespectful. Shawn said he has to do it because we all know how Orton doesn't always walk the walk. Orton tells Shawn to shut up, and that he's better than Shawn's ever been. Suddenly, **The Game** hits, and Triple H makes his way down to the ring to a huge pop. Triple H says that's nice that Orton thinks he's better than Shawn, but last week, he got the better of the three, and that will happen again this Sunday. All three men begin to yell at each other and get in each other's faces, but Regal gets their attention, and reminds them that if any of them want to leave Sunday as WWE Champion, they need to sign the contract. Orton signs first, before staring a hole through both Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Triple H signs next, lastly followed by Shawn Michaels. Immediately after Shawn finishes signing, he nails Orton with Sweet Chin Music, followed by Triple H!! He gets a large pop as his music plays. A dazed Orton slowly crawls up the ramp with title in hand while Triple H leans up against the barricade at ringside.

END OF SHOW

Hey DH. Show looks really good (guessing it's in recap), but I might be able to review later today or sometime tomorrow. No Way Out looks good so far, but I'm surprised there's no Jeff on the card . Oh well. Keep it up, man.

YoungBloodChampion reviews DH6's Raw

Starting the show off like this seemed a little unrealistic. This being the last show before N.W.O., I expected a HHH/HBK/Orton promo. This was a little un-expected, and no offense, but a little un-welcome. The match itself was pretty good, though. Morrison and Carlito picking up the victory was the obvious choice, what with Lashley ringside.

The Maria/DH promo seemed just a tag bit useless, and short.

Good to see Steph book Kennedy in a match. Stephanie's chuckle makes it look like she's got something up their sleeve. I'm interested.

Nice win for Phoenix heading into the PPV. I'm still going by my theory saying that whoever has the momentum towards the PPV ends up losing, but I could be very well wrong.

Kane squashes DH Smith. DH isn't the first person I would have in mind, but an okay squash nonetheless.

Jericho didn't look in character in this promo, but everything he said was pretty much right. An okay feud heading towards the PPV.

Morrison and Carlito get the beatdown on Lashley. Wow. I thought after the beginning, these three would be done. But making a second appearance? You gotta be freakin' kiddin' me! I really don't think this beatdown was nesscesary (if that's how it's spelled).

The McMahons cheating? Again? This is getting old, man. It feels like it's been used so many times. The distraction, the chair, the end. Pretty typical. I wanna see some excitement and un-expected finishes.

Jericho squashes Santino. Ooookayyy. Nothing special about that. Kane coming out and the brawl seemed so... so... what's the word I'm looking for? I don't know. Let's just call this un-realistic. I mean, seriously. Kane makes a second appearance and chokeslams Jericho? Well, I guess you could say it was in response to Jericho's words earlier. Not a big statement made, but a decent feud.

"All three men begin to yell at each other?" I just can't see something like this happening! And the ending seemed pretty lame, too. I mean, come on! Michaels signs the contract and then hits SCM on both men? I mean, would something like this really happen on Raw? No! It wouldn't! And then Orton crawls up the ramp with the title? Michaels should've grabbed the title and stood tall over both men in the ring and raised the title high! This seemeed like it never could happen in real life.

Overall: 67/100 = C

This is the lowest rating I've ever given any show in years. It felt almost as if you didn't try hard enough on it. And what's up with the Stone Cold thing? What happened to him? I saw very few good points. Dude, I really hope the PPV's better than this. Good luck. I'll be reading.

Kyle_wwe's review of Monday Night Raw

Let me just first say, that i cant wait for No Way Out. I'm hoping it will be in full, dont forget to PM when its up!

Tag Match: Good to see you putting them in a tag match. Lashley doing commentary would be terrible lol. I would have liked to see them go over a smaller team first, such as the Highlanders but its all good. I like that you had them win, just as you should leading into the title match.

Womens Tag Match: I like the womens title match for No Way Out. Good to see you putting divas in a special match other then bra and panties like the real WWE. That should be a good match. Not much to say, pretty much the same thing as the other tag match.

Squash match: I dont really like that DH is jobbing so early into his career. Would have liked to see him get a win and gain some credability. Its all good though, as i like a good Kane push.

Kennedy vs. Jeff: I like how all the McMahons are with Kennedy, good stuff there. I like how Vince distracted the ref while Shane cheated. Not much to say here as you dont describe the moves, recaps i know. I like how Steph isnt celebrating with them, maby a Steph vs. Other McMahons kinda thing?

Jericho vs. Santino: Decent. I like how Santino got some action in. Good to see that you are still having him win with the walls rather then just using the code breaker. Kane coming down is good and i like how you are making him into a monster again.

Contract signing: Not much to say here. The sweet chin to both is good. Last week HHH got the better of them, now Shawn, Orton is looking kinda weak but its all good. Feud is getting good and i hope it doesnt end at NWO, hoping it will go threw until Mania.

And what's up with the Stone Cold thing?
Last week Stone Cold was talking in the ring and Orton came out. Eventually Orton hit him with the RKO, followed by a punt. This will also answer the next quote.

Quote:
Orton is looking kinda weak
The punt and RKO on someone with as much credibility as Austin was too make Orton look quite strong.

Quote:
I really hope the PPV's better than this.
I feel it is. I don't think it will be as good as the Royal Rumble for some reason, even with the Triple Threat and Elimination Chamber, but I still feel it will be at least four stars.

Quote:
"All three men begin to yell at each other?"
It means that they were all arguing in loud tones.

Quote:
I'm hoping it will be in full
Yeah, NWO will be in full, or at least the Raw side anyway. All of my matches will be done in full, but I don't know about The Rock. I'm doing all of the promos and segments, so they will also be in full.

RsX Reveng3's RAW Review:

No Way Out looks good, can't wait for it!

John Morrison & Carlito vs. Paul London and Brian Kendrick: Nice job putting John Morrison & Carlito in a tag match, Lashley coming down was good. Having them picking up a win over Paul London and Brian Kendrick was good, make them look stronger, overall nice match.

two little small promos in there, nice job having Kennedy walk in demanding a match at N.W.O.

Womens Tag Match: Another tag match, with Divas. Looks good, nice match

DH Smith vs. Kane: Having DH Smith job so early in his career doesn't look that good, i wouldn't have made it a squash match, but it has to happen, and i like how u are pushing Kane, GO KANE!

Nice little interview in there, Y2J seemed in character even though you only recapped it.

Kennedy vs. Jeff: Nice idea having all the McMahons helping Mr Kennedy out, wonder why Stephanie didn't celebrate??? could this be another storyline

Jericho vs. Santino: Ok match, i liked how you use Santino in a match instead of doing promos, also i liked how u used old Y2J moves, having Kane come down gives him that monster gimmick back.

Contract signing: Fued is looking good, but i can't say much because you recapped it but it looks like a decent promo.

Overall: Nice show, it would be better if you recapped the matches and wrote out promos and commentary, but its your BTB, i will be looking for N.W.O.

Nige’s Raw Feedback

First impressions are the show looks really short. The Morrison/Carlito push carries on, but it kind of makes no sense this week as you really made the tag champs look vulnerable, which would be fine if they were feuding with this new combination, but Morrison has a singles match. A singles win for Morrison with Lashley watching would have made far much more sense than having Londrick look like weak champions

Maria/Smith, not much to comment on really, but it sets up some potential love interest with him and a triangle with Santino. That could work out quite well. The Kennedy/McMahon promo was okay, kinda nice to see Steph on screen and showing some kind of resistance to the whole situation. Vince surely would have said something after that though from Steph

Divas tag match was okay, nothing too spectacular and a lack of detail with the words big moves used instead of the actual moves that were used. You won’t be able to get away with that at No Way Out. Mickie doing the job shows that she is under pressure on Sunday, but will probably end up walking out on top having done the job here

Poor DH Smith, he looked like he was in for a good night, but all that momentum is gone now. If you having on Smith doing something, you’ve pretty much wrecked it now by putting him in a squash with Kane, who looks strong on the flip side

Jericho interview was okay, looked and sounded like Jericho to me, but he has to do the job this Sunday, cos Kane looking like a monster and then losing would just be a car wreck after all he’s done recently. The Lashley/Morrison/Carlito promo was okay, the jump attack is realistic for the heels before the title match on Sunday. I hate Morrison and don’t see him and Carlito as a team at all

Kennedy/Jeff action was fine, but again no real description of moves, god I hope this won’t be the case at No Way Out. At least Jeff didn’t lose clean and I liked that Vince and Shane helped Kennedy out to start this little connection going. You’ve got a decent situation here man

Jericho beating Santino was obvious and it had to be done quite honestly. It gives him a victory going into No Way Out, but it would be horrific booking if he beats Kane, and for some reason I can see it happening

The contract signing was okay, but I had to laugh when Triple H said he got the best of last week, which is hilarious after he jobbed to Orton, clean un under six minutes. That was a bad thing to say but Michaels hitting Trips with the super kick was a shock, guess that’s their friendship down the drain

Overall, it was short for sure but not too bad. I thought the promos were effective for what you wanted to do, but the matches need more detail. The Morrison/Carlito double act doesn’t click for me and making Londrick look like crap doesn’t help either. It did show a lack of effort with a pay-per-view, and seems like you don’t care too much for how the TV’s turn out, as long as they build up to the PPV. That’s seriously what it looks like. It would have been fun to watch as the booking was pretty good with a few glitches that I mentioned earlier, but good enough to keep people interested
