Raw Review

Good opening to Raw with Mr. McMahon addressing Hornswoggle. I’ll be interested to see what develops in the tag match next week against whoever you choose the team to be.

Mr. Kennedy gets a strong win over Cody Rhodes who looked to have had another impressive outing. Jeff Hardy at ringside watching a man that he will no doubt defend the IC title against in the near future, I’m looking forward to that one.

Good promo for Shawn Michaels, promising a win at Survivor Series and it also set up a main event between Orton and Jeff Hardy, champion versus champion.

Mickie gets an impressive win over Melina but is taken out by Beth Phoenix. Interesting build to what will be no doubt a future match between the two.

Lol at Maria wanting to watch the Condemned.

Save us 222, I wonder who that could be?

Triple H then goes on to gain a massive handicap win over Snitsky & Umaga. Looking forward to the Triple H & Umaga encounter at Survivor Series, a win for either would propel them into title contention.

Murdoch & Mickie, I’m shocked that you stuck with this one, I’ll be interested to see if you have any long term plans for this angle too.

DH Smith now has his first official loss of his career, just as well too because Carlito really needed this win to gain a little momentum going into Survivor Series.

Santino cuts another promo on Austin, and challenges him to show up for the Raw anniversary, this pretty much confirms Austin’s involvement because it wouldn’t be like him to refuse a challenge. Santino has a very promising future imo.

Orton also cuts a strong backstage promo to hype the WWE Championship match, I’d like to see the feud escalate to a point where they are being pulled away from each other, but you might be holding off on that for a little while.

The main event then ends in DQ with Kennedy jumping one of his Survivor Series opponents, Michaels then slides in to make the save, and Orton runs away which suggests he might be worried about facing Shawn at Survivor Series. The title match could go either way, should make for a cracker.

Overall: A good show, obviously you had commitments this week but the recap was very good anyway. It had good build for the Survivor Series matches as well. Good job

Default Re: WWE: The Revival

Weird opening promo, I guess we're gonna see some "tough love" in this thread for Hornswoggle too. Don't care for his involvement in the WWE anymore, it's getting boring with him booked in matches every week but we'll see where you go with this

Thankfully Kennedy goes over Rhodes. Not really there to do much except give Hardy/Kennedy a bit more build and their SS Tag Match should be intruiging to say the least with two good looking teams ready to duke things out. I don't like Cody at all, so I could care less as to what happens with him

Michaels isn't gonna beat Orton, no way. Hardy vs Orton tonight? Sounds good to me. Decently described promo, seemed like what HBK would say and do etc

Mickie beats Melina, good. Beth squashes Mickie like a fly afterwards. Not good, because we all know Beth is gonna win this feud already really. That move you described, I think she calls the Down In Flames...

Haha Maria wishes they could've watched The Condemned. I want a Santino/Austin feud!

Save_US.222 = Y2J.

Triple H looking strong here as he drills Snitsky and he and Umaga are gonna tear each other apart at SS, should be a good match full of brutality and the like. Expecting Trips to win it, but you never know. Snitsky is nothing more than a big man jobber tbh, he bores me to some extent now, doesn't even have his funny catchphrase

Oh God please don't split Cade & Murdoch up until you have a decent Tag division. Then, you can have Cade go solo like I know you fancy trying out. Murdoch has no chance with Mickie though, if he somehow happens to get with her in an angle, I'll be so disappointed

Carlito > Smith. Good booking. Smith shot himself in the foot in the real E, I wonder what your plans are for Bulldog Jr. here? Carlito could finally do something meaningful

Santino vs Austin at the Anniversary would be special, I hope you go through with this as Santino on the mic is gold. Total gold

Meh Orton bores me so much on the mic, he's gotten better though and you never have a problem writing with him so that's good. Seemed like another run of the mill Randy speech and I can see HBK factoring in the ME tonight

Good ending to the show, solid match and the aftermath gives more build to Hardy/Kennedy and of course Michaels/Orton which needs an extra kick to take it up a notch, because it wasn't really covered at all tonight in the vein it should've been, needs more oomph in it. Still, well worked ending to a solid recap

Default Re: WWE: The Revival

It's been a minute since I reviewed a show in this thread.

Monday Night Raw
Monday November 4, 2007
Los Angeles, California

Short but decent promo to start the show. Shane and Hornswoggle teaming up to face a team of Mr. McMahon's choosing for next week's Raw? I wonder who Mr. McMahon will choose two face Shane and Hornswoogle.

Good opening match between Kennedy and Rhodes. This was Kennedy's match to win. However Rhodes did look credible in this match. Looks like the Jeff/Kennedy feud is continuing, which is good.

Good promo from Michaels. Looking forward to his match against Orton at the Survivor Series. Orton vs. Jeff on Raw should be a great match.

Mickie/Melina-Great but short match between the two divas. Mickie winning was great. However Beth attacking Mickie after the match really gets the feud between the two started. I'm not sure, but I haven't read or seen a Women's Champion hit a challenger with their title belt before across the face. Phoenix hitting her finisher move on Mickie as well, was a great way to keep the heel heat on Beth.

Team Mickie vs. Team Phoenix at Survivor Series should be great. Funny, yet good segment with Santino and Maria. Santino's reaction to Maria after Maria speaks about wanting to watch "The Condemened" was great. Can't wait for Santino's promo later on in the show. Save_US.222, can only mean Jericho is returning. Can't wait for the return of Jericho in this thread.

Triple H's promo was decent and it got the Handicap match over with the fans. As far as the Handicap match goes, not surprised to see the frequent tags made between Umaga and Snitsky. At the same time, not surprised to see Hunter make a comeback, and pedigree Snitsky. I have a feeling that Hunter will face Umaga at the Survivor Series.

As I expected Hunter will face Umaga at the Survivor Series. That match should be good. I see that you're continuing the Murdoch/Mickie storyline, which seems to have been dropped from Raw, in real life. Good segment to keep the storyline continuing. I have a feeling that soon Murdoch and Cade are going to break up as a tag team.

The Carlito/D.H. Smith match was as you mentioned, was a match just to be "there" on the show. With both wrestlers given limited time for the match, as well being on opposite teams at the Survivor Series, this match was good. Carlito getting the cheap heel win was expected, following his loss to Smith two weeks ago on Raw in this thread.

Excellent promo from Santino Marella. Interesting challenge to Austin for a match at the 15th Raw Anniversary of Monday Night Raw. That should be a great segment between the two.

Good but short promo from Orton. Orton admitting that Hardy might be on his A-game was good booking from Orton as it was realistic.

Great match to end the show. Orton and Hardy put on a great match. Kennedy interfering and attacking Hardy was great booking. Hardy wins though by DQ. I have a feeling that a possible Orton/Hardy feud will be taking place in this BTB soon. However Michaels attempting Sweet Chin Music to Orton and then stopping was great booking as well.

Overall Comments: Once again this was a great show. Even though it was in recap, the matches and definately the promos were great. Some feuds were started, while others continued. Once again, great show, and looking forward to ECW, Smackdown, and next week's Raw in this thread.

ECW on Sci-Fi
Tuesday November 6, 2007
Bakersfield, California

Don’t Question My Heart hits across the arena as the normal ECW video package plays before we cut out into the arena. The camera pans around to show the fans before we quickly cut down to ringside to our commentators.

Joey Styles: Hello one and all and welcome to one wild edition of ECW on Sci-Fi tonight. Two huge main events set to take place as we are in for one big ride!

Tazz: Tonight we crown a number one contender for CM Punk’s ECW title and to be honest, I’m thinking it’ll be Big Daddy V!

Joey Styles: Can the man be stopped is the main question but right now, speaking of CM Punk, we’re going to kick it off with a grudge match!

Match #1
CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke

Match Overview: A match that gets about ten minutes on TV to showcase both of these superstars talents. Punk is able to work with Burke here as Burke has been off TV rather recently but seems as if he is coming back soon to a regular schedule. Anyways onto the match, Burke got a close call after smashing Punk’s head off the turnbuckle and rolling him up but only getting the two count. Burke shook his head in dismay knowing he needs the win. Burke heads into the corner looking for his finisher the Elijah Express. Burke charges into the corner but at the last second, Punk moves as Burke collides with the turnbuckles. Punk quickly grabs Burke running off the ropes and hitting the running bulldog! Punk dares Burke to get back onto his feet as Burke slowly does and backs right up into the arms of Punk! Punk delivers with the GTS as he drops down onto the mat and hooks the leg getting the one, two, three and the win!

Winner: CM Punk

Punk celebrates his victory as he holds his title in the air as we cut off to a commercial.

---Commercial---

A video slowly shows a black screen. The lights are dark and you can hear breathing. The camera starts to zoom in and all of a sudden, a face pops up. A black mask however is being worn and you can only see the eyes of this man. Heavy breathing is heard now as the camera starts to zoom back and then watches as you can hear the breathing continue on. Suddenly, a loud yell is heard and then you see red letters come across the screen. “He’s Coming….Three Weeks”

We head back down to ringside to the commentators.

Joey Styles: Whoever this Paul Burchall guy is, the ECW roster has just been put on notice.

Tazz: Burchall looks like a scary man, which is of what we saw of him. But Joey right now, we’ve been told that we have a surprise right now.

Joey Styles: Really? I won…

Drums in the Night hits across the arena as out steps “The Lethal Weapon” Steve Blackman! Blackman makes his way down the ramp as he throws out a few kicks and punches before rolling into the ring.

Tazz: Really, could this be? “The Lethal Weapon” is back in the WWE! I’m so excited to see Blackman back here.

Match #2
Steve Blackman vs. Mike Knox

Match Overview: Blackman and Knox work a quick match as it’s simply just to get Blackman onto TV. Blackman used his martial arts background to his advantage as Knox was never able to really get anything started. Knox’s downfall came after Blackman was able to hit a Jumping High Kick straight to the chin of Knox before Blackman quickly walked over and picked Knox back up. A groggy Knox didn’t have enough to try and close it out as Blackman did it for him as Blackman finished off Mike Knox with the Blackout Kick! Blackman quickly hooks the leg, One…Two…Three.

Winner: Steve Blackman

Blackman rolls out of the ring with a serious look on his face as always as he backs up the ramp looking at Knox getting a decent round of ovation from the fans.

---Commercial---

We head backstage to see Matt Striker standing by with Big Daddy V.

Matt Striker: Tonight here on ECW, I must say that after watching CM Punk’s lucky fluke win tonight over my former New Breed member Elijah Burke, I am appalled by how dumb you fans are. You people actually think an old ECW superstar like Tommy Dreamer could actually compete much less survive in the ring with Big Daddy V?

Striker turns and looks at Big Daddy V who is staring at the camera along with Striker.

Matt Striker: The intelligence of you senile people makes me wonder something? How can you all actually think that Big Daddy V could be stopped? Big Daddy V is a monster, a beast, someone unlike any other monster that ECW has ever seen. Big Daddy V is one of a kind, a monster that demands respect because of who he is. Not only that but because of what he is capable of doing. Big Daddy V is capable of incapacitating the body of just about any superstar on ECW yet you dimwits feel that if, wait when he wins tonight, that CM Punk could beat him at Survivor Series?

Striker shakes his head in disagreeance.

Matt Striker: CM Punk? Please the man stands no chance. He lacks brains, something that I am blessed to have. He lacks power, something I also have….

He points to Big Daddy V at this time.

Matt Striker: And he lacks confidence…

Big Daddy V beats his chest right now as Striker prepares to finish the segment.

Matt Striker: So this is a signal for every man or women on ECW, be afraid because Big Daddy V is coming for the ECW Championship.

We quickly cut backstage after this segment to see Kelly Kelly with Balls Mahoney.

Balls Mahoney: Look Kelly, just be careful out there tonight.

Kelly Kelly: Balls, don’t worry about me. How are you feeling after last week?

Balls Mahoney: I’m still a little sore. But don’t worry Kelly; you need to get out there right now.

Kelly Kelly: Bye Balls.

Balls Mahoney: Bye Kelly!

In walks the Miz and Layla.

The Miz: Look who it is, Balls Mahoney! How you feeling after last week’s massacre from Big Daddy V?

Balls Mahoney: None of yo…

The Miz: Wow Balls, calm down! We don’t need you getting an attitude with the one and the only, Miz! HOORAH!

Balls Mahoney: W…

The Miz: Balls, just know that your little precious Kelly, she’s about to pay a dear price.

The Miz and Layla walk off and head off to ringside as we take another commercial break.

---Commercial---

Match #3
Kelly Kelly vs. Layla

Match Overview: A rather quick divas match that is pretty much just being used to hype the Survivor Series elimination match pitting these two against one another. Nothing much really comes of it at all to be honest as Kelly and Layla do a little bit of cat fighting. Miz inserts himself into the match about halfway through as he trips up Kelly causing her to face plant into the mat. Layla walks over to take advantage as she covers but only gets a two count. Layla picked Kelly Kelly back up but just at the last moment, Kelly quickly rolled Layla up and she got the win!

Winner: Kelly Kelly

Layla grabs her hair in disappointment but quickly takes her frustration out on Kelly as Miz slides into the ring and holds Kelly Kelly. Layla reaches back and slaps Kelly in the face. Miz encourages Layla to continue on and she slaps Kelly one more time! Layla reaches back for one more time but Balls Mahoney hits the ring! Balls scares Miz out of the ring as Miz and Layla retreat up the ramp. Balls picks Kelly back up and Kelly looks into Balls eyes. Balls simply picks Kelly up and helps her out of the ring as we head to ringside.

Joey Styles: If it hadn’t been for Balls Mahoney, Kelly Kelly could have been in some serious trouble from Layla and the Miz.

Tazz: This just shows how much of a coward a man like the Miz is. But right now, I hear that backstage John Morrison is standing by.

Anastacia: Right now I’m here with John Morrison and John in ju…

John Morrison: What was that Amber? In just a matter of moments, the “Shaman of Sexy” John Morrison will make his way down to that ring. See, tonight I’m on a mission. A mission to get MY ECW title back that was stolen from me by CM Punk. Punk has no right to even be holding my title and why he has it is wrong!

Anastacia: John, you’ve been back for less than a month and since then you’ve been on a tear through ECW. Why is this?

John Morrison: It’s time for the “New Face of Extreme” to step up once again. People have already been comparing me to the likes of Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the like but I don’t like it. I am the one and only John Morrison, the one and only “A-list Elitist” and I am the one and only man that will be the next ECW Champion.

Anastacia: Are you at all worried about the threat that Big Daddy V poses?

John Morrison: Big Daddy V is of no concern to the “Tuesday Night Delight” John Morrison. I’m here simply tonight to take back what was never lost. Something that still should be mine to this day and whenever I get my title back, you can rest assured that I will reign with the ECW Championship for a long, long time.

Morrison walks off as he heads into the arena for the main event.

----Commercial---

Match #4
#1 Contender’s Triple Threat
John Morrison vs. Big Daddy V vs. Tommy Dreamer

Match Overview: The match is pretty decent but doesn't get as much time due to the first match earlier in the night, that being Punk vs. Burke getting about ten minutes or so. However the superstars work with what they have and really make it a decent TV main event. The match starts to break down towards the end whenver Striker tries to interfere in the match but Dreamer pulls him into the ring looking for a DDT. Big Daddy V then charges at Dreamer but Dreamer moves and Big Daddy V flies to the outside of the ring. Dreamer throws Striker to the side as Morrison quickly ran up from behind on Dreamer and planted him with the Corkscrew Neckbreaker! The fans boo as Morrison covers Dreamer and gets the win!

Winner: John Morrison

Morrison has his hand raised in the air as Punk makes his way out on the ramp looking down at Morrison. Morrison and Punk have a brief stare down signalling their feud is going to continue on at Survivor Series.

Joey Styles: What a night it was Tazz and now we know that Morrison will face Punk at Survivor Series.

Tazz: A wild night it was and good night everyone from Bakersfield, California.

ECW kinda got thrown together real quick this week. Sorry about the shows being posted so late. The Steve Blackman thing is more or less of him going to be kinda like Al Snow was in his latest run in ECW. He's probably going to put over superstars. But anyways, enjoy ECW and Hollywood shoul have Smackdown up sometimes this week.

King of Pain’s ECW Feedback.

My first review in this thread, so please excuse my ignorance should there be any.

Solid win for Punk to kick off the show and it’s good to see you’re continuing with him as the Champion, for the time being anyway. Punk v Burke has been done pretty regularly now, so I think this match really was jus there to get the fans going and to basically get Punk in a match for tonight. I’ll be interested to see what you do with Elijah, though.

Paul Burchall on ECW? That’s cool.

Lol you’ve bought in Steve Blackman. That’s pretty cool. He picks up the win over Mike Knox here tonight, I’ll be interested to see what kind of push you give him though. I dare say he’ll be more of an enhancement talent that is loved by the fans.

Strong promo from Striker here. Although I hate Viscera’s new persona, as I did the last one, I still enjoy what Striker can do. You captured him very nicely and his dialogue was definitely very characteristic of him. Solid promo but I can’t see him winning tonight nor winning the ECW Title.

Balls & Kelly stuff… meh. The Miz and Balls’ confrontation was pretty generic, pretty much exactly what you’d see on tv, so props on the realism.

A Quick diva’s match is a good diva’s match in my book. Kelly picks up the win but the aftermath is what is the major talking point. Solid but obvious booking in having Balls come out and save Kelly from Miz and Layla.

Really nice promo from Morrison. You captured his cocky, arrogant heel persona very nicely and portrayed it just as well. I’d say he’s odds on tonight. I can’t see him losing and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him take the title off Punk. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with him as judging by this promo I think we could be in for something good.

Short Main Event. I thought you might’ve added a little more to the recap, but not to be. The way you got Big Daddy V out of the picture was innovative and I guess, although it is unfortunate, it keeps him looking strong as Morrison picks up the expected victory. A victory in this manor for him definitely further establishes his heel persona even more so.

Overall, a solid show. It didn’t really set the world a light in terms of star power in the matches but that’s ECW, so the realism was definitely there. This show did seem a little short, it could just be me though? The build for Survivor Series continues and it really looks as if it will be a top PPV. Solid show KOP and I’ll be dropping some feedback for your next Raw!

ECW Review

Opening segment: Joey Styles/Tazz & CM Punk/Elijah Burke
A bit more build for the show from Styles/Tazz would have been nice, but great to see the action kicking off the show. Punk/Burke is a great way to start any show, and given ten minutes the two would put on a decent match. Punk getting the win was unsurprising, but I would have preferred to have seen Burke go over and regain momentum towards the ECW Title.

Paul Burchill
Burchill in ECW could, and should, be great. He's a great talent, and I'm glad you didn't bring his previous run on Smackdown up. Pirate Paul is best forgotten. I just hope you don't put him against BDV for a while, allow him to get that monster aura first, so as to be a second monster on ECW.

Steve Blackman/Mike Knox
Not quite sure whether Blackman could realistically come back full time, but it's great to see the Lethal Weapon getting used in a thread once more. I expected Knox to get the victory to get further pushed, but I guess Knox is going to be used to stare at the lights in this thread. Hopefully Blackman won't get lost in the shuffle, and is there a chance of Head Cheese coming back?

Matt Striker/Big Daddy V promo
First of all, Matt Striker seemed out of character. Whilst the general gist of his character was there, it just didn't seem to be him. Primarily because of the use of words such as dimwits and dumb, and seemed to rambling in parts. Got BDV over and plugged his match with Dreamer/Morrison, so the purpose was met. However, Morrison should have been mentioned, makees him look unimportant by not mentioning him.

Balls Mahoney/Kelly Kelly/The Miz/Layla
A decent segment, with everyone in character. Layla and Kelly Kelly should be kept out of the ring in my opinion, but at least it should help further the Balls/Miz storyline.

Layla/Kelly Kelly
Glad to see the match was kept short and no surprise to see Kelly get the victory. One thing I was surprised at was the lack of interference from Miz and subsequently Balls. Nice to see a clean finish to help further a feud. Even after the match, there was nothing more than encouragement from Miz before Balls made the inevitable save.

John Morrison/Anastacia Rose
Not sure why Smackdown's Anastacia Rose is on the show, considering no one else on the Smackdown roster was on the show. You could have just used Styles and Tazz, who have been doing the interviewing on ECW for a while. Anyway, a good promo with Morrison in character and putting himself over. Brushing off BDV was a good move, keeps him in character, but don't make him the number one contender.

Big Daddy V/Tommy Dreamer/John Morrison
First, great to see Dreamer in the main event mix, although his chances of winning are zero. The match, in my opinion, should have been given more time by not having the Kelly/Layla and Blackman/Knox matches, being as important as it is. Morrison getting the victory is a big negative in my opinion. I was sick to death of the feud when Punk finally won the title, but another match just seems pointless, except to get rid of the return match clause. Hopefully their lackluster feud will end at Survivor Series, and a new challenger (BDV, Striker, Thorn, Dreamer, Burke) can get to the top spot.

Overall
A solid show that put over everyone you wanted. With the exception of Striker in his promo, Punk beating Burke and Morrison becoming number one contender, I thought the show was very good, although they were only my opinions. For example, PARANoIR seemed to have the opposite opinions.

Sorry for not being able to get a review up sooner, but uni work has limited any chance to be active here for the past couple of weeks.

ECW Comments

Very short show, but then again, 2 hrs of this would be painful no matter who writes it with this roster (even you guys)...

Opening was solid, Punk beating Burke was always gonna happen. I hope to see some fresh faces in ECW soon, because everything becomes so repetitive on it. Burchall coming? Sounds good, no pirate gimmicks plz. STEVE BLACKMAN! I marked out. Big time. Great to see him back, he's still ripped as for a guy in his early 40's. Push plz. I don't like Striker. You do, obviously KOP, and you like to write with him but this promo seemed incredibly bland by your standards. HATING Big Daddy V, cannot stand him being used in any form other than jobber. Layla is teh sexiness. Her > Kelly I will be hoping for. Balls & Miz hanging around, but Kelly gets the win . WHY???
I'm sorry but who the fuck is Anastacia Rose? Solid ME, although I'd mark for a Tommy Dreamer win, it didn't happen. Morrison wins, yay. Not keen on it happening AGAIN with Punk/Morrison. As A-Dust said it'll be time for new challengers, and aslong as it's not BDV I'll be happy with Burke, Dreamer, Thorn or even Blackman after a push...

Solid show.
