ECW Review

So here is my first review for this BTB. KOP and Hollywood Event; The Power Trip 2k7? Maybe, let’s check out ECW on Sci Fi!

The ECW General Manager, Armando Estrada comes out here. Whoever wrote this, was dead on Estrada. I can picture Estrada in real life saying this. So let me get this straight, the winners of tonight will advance to a triple-threat match and the winner of that match next week gets a title shot? Sounds pretty fair. Nothing special.

The first match of the night is between The Miz and Tommy Dreamer. It appears The Miz is going to win, but Dreamer lands the DDT and gets the win. It would be nice seeing Dreamer in the title match against Punk.

Alright, the next promo is I guess a comedy promo with The Boogeyman. I understand it is very hard to write ECW with the roster they have right now. I do not care about The Boogeyman, but this seems realistic.

Elijah Burke is asking Estrada why he is not in any of the matches tonight. Estrada is right, what the fuck has Burke done? Well Burke will face CM Punk next week on ECW. Not bad, just that Elijah Burke, I am not a fan of him either.

So the next week is between Balls Mahoney and Big Daddy V. Is it possible that in the triple threat match, all three competitors are ECW Originals? Nah, because Big Daddy V wins. That was predictable, nobody is going to stop Big Daddy V.

Typical CM Punk promo, nothing else to say about it.

Stevie Richards in the main-event? Something I thought I would only see on Sunday Night Heat. Surprisingly, Richards and Morrison have a pretty good match, but Morrison wins. I knew that was going to happen. Richards hasn’t had a title shot since, uhm, yeah let’s just move on.

Overall: To tell you the truth, this show did nothing to me. It was your typical ECW show. It was a bit bland, but the triple threat match should be good. I am not going to grade the show; Now I do not grade weekly shows, only pay-per-views. So as for this show, it was nothing special, but I am looking forward to future shows from both of you.

ECW Review

- Estrada was spot on in the beginning although 'estude me' was used a lot during the entire show. I'd rather him spare them as when he uses them they'll seem special. He makes 3 matches, all of which seem rather predictable and lackluster. So you are not having the talent exchange program in the BTB. The Opening promo was too queit with no action. Normally I hate clean promos where nothing really happens but this was a nice change of pace

- By predictable I meant that Miz was going to win. I mean he's defenitely better than Dreamer. I actually am a huge Miz-fit so maybe I'm being biased. Dreamer gets a good win as there needs to be a face in next week's triple threat, which should be better than this week's whole show

- I am a huge fan of the Boogeyman as well. Maybe you should put him in a feud against someone of Kevin Thorn's caliber. Both men could be elevated. Boogey promo was funny with the last two lines. I can picture Nunzio and Boogeyman having a promo like this. So good realism there

- Burke could be used so much better and with him, Thorn and Boogeyman the tournament for the ECW title shot could've also been made much better but I guess you need side storylines as well. I hope this developes. I know ECW is the breeding ground but you could make it so much better. Next week's Burke vs. Punk should be good

- Okay this prediction came off right, BDV won over Balls Mahoney. I don't see him winning next week as I see Morrison or Burke being the #1 contender next up. BDV and Punk could also carry on their feud, which should be in some sort of gimmick match. Otherwise the contrast in styles would be horrible for the match

- Another sound promo, where nothing really happens. This just made me think that BDV might actually win next week. Next week's show seems much better than this week's with the triple threat and Punk vs. Burke. Add another good match and give Miz, Boogey, Thorn etc some air time and you've got a great show

- Richards vs. Morrison was another predictable match where the right man won of course. Triple threat seems good but there needs to be some contraversy to spice things up a bit. The show was pretty meh. I didn't like any of the 3 matches but some promos were well done

ECW Review:

Estrada's opening promo was good even though it was kind of short. However the announcement of the matches scheduled for this edition of ECW, looks to be interesting, and next week's Triple Threat match with the winners of this week's show facing against one another should be great as well.

The opening match was well written, even though Miz lost the match. I'm a mark for the Miz, but since he lost the title match against Punk at Cyber Sunday, I don't think it would be right for Miz to face Punk again at Survivor Series, as Miz still has some improvement to make before becoming a part of the Main Event scene on ECW.

The Nuzio/Boogeyman segment was done since this ECW show is based around the Halloween theme, right? With that said both men say their regular lines, and the promo was decent, since it was a comedic promo in the first place.

The Burke/Estrada segment IMO, should have been done after Estrada announced the matches in the ring at the top of the show, as it would have been much better and gave Burke even more heat heading into his match against Punk on next week's show.

BDV beating Mahoney was expected, and fortunately the match was kept short. With that said, I don't expect to see BDV to win the Triple Threat Match next week.

Punk's promo was good, as while it seemed somewhat generic based on Punk's character, it was good since it got across the point of the segment which was to show that Punk always will always prevail against the odds and never give up.

While the Main Event was a great match, this match was always Morrison's match to win. I also have a feeling that Morrison is going to win the Triple Threat Match next week and face Punk for the ECW Championship at the Survivor Series PPV.

Overall Comments: I know that ECW is being written by the both of you, KOP and Hollywood Event, as the two of you have mentioned before in this thread, and with that said this was a good show. However I'm surprised that there were only three matches. I know there were quite a bit of promos and backstage segments, but I thought there would be at least another match, like a squash match or a match featuring the divas of ECW, like a Kelly Kelly vs. Layla match. With that said, once again this was a great show, and looking forward to the upcoming Smackdown show in this thread.

Friday Night Smackdown!
2nd November 2007
Uniondale, New York

Rise Up plays throughout the arena and pyro goes off. The camera shows the crowd on the screen with their signs before a graphic featuring Batista versus the Great Khali appears on the screen.

Michael Cole: Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown! Michael Cole and JBL at ringside and what a night we have in store for you!

JBL: Will Batista be in the right frame of mind tonight after losing the World Heavyweight Championship last Sunday to the Undertaker? He has to be as tonight he’s got The Great Khali!

Michael Cole: Also tonight we’ve heard that Kane will be in action!

JBL: But more importantly Michael Cole, Rey Mysterio gets the ultimate honour he gets to get back into the ring with me ….JBL the Wrestling God as I interview him and trust me there won’t be any holding back or sucking up, we’ll see if Mysterio really does have the “machismo” to answer the tough questions that I’ll be asking him later on!

“I Walk Alone” plays throughout the arena to a huge pop from the crowd as Batista makes his way to the ring with an intense look on his face, he doesn’t bother with his pyro and just heads straight for the ring. Batista climbs into the ring and goes straight for a microphone, then stands in the middle of the ring as his music cuts off. He is about to speak but the crowd starts a “Batista” chant so he waits for a minute, and then begins to speak when it dyes down.

Batista: Last Sunday, at Cyber Sunday…I lost MY World Heavyweight Championship to The Undertaker...

Batista pauses and nods his head, as the fans give that a mixed reaction and wait to see what he has to say.

Batista: Now I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve never beaten The Undertaker, we’ve had four matches, two have been drawn, and the other two have been won by The Undertaker…and there are doubters out there that say that I CAN’T defeat him…

Batista turns around and looks at JBL at ringside for a minute then turns his attention back to the crowd.

Batista: I just want to say to these doubters…that they’re wrong!

The fans begin to cheer as Batista starts to get more intense.

Batista: Undertaker, the matches we’ve had have been close encounters, they could have gone my way and even though on two occasions…they didn’t go my way…so don’t think for one second that this is over…because it’s not!

Batista pauses for a minute then continues to speak again.

Batista: At Survivor Series, I am cashing in on my rematch clause to face you one more time for the World Heavyweight Championship, and believe me…this time I’ll win!

The fans give that a mixed reaction.

Batista: This time I’m more focused, this time I’m hungrier than I’ve ever been in my career. I’ve overcome every single obstacle in my career up until now, I’ve beaten competed in every type of match, and I’ve beaten everyone…except The Undertaker!!

Batista then begins to force a smile out as the fans start to chant for the World Heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker.

Batista: So far in my career up until this point ever since Wrestlemania 23, the Undertaker has been a road block, a bump on the road if you will, the only one I haven’t overcome, and most people when faced with such a challenge just look for ways around that bump in the road, but me? I go at it, and I keep going at it until I run right over the top of it, and finally overcome it!!

Batista then walks over and looks directly into the camera with a menacing look on his face.

Batista: Make no mistake about it…I will do ANYTHING to regain my World Heavyweight Championship…and at Survivor Series…I will!!!

Batista drops the microphone as his music plays and he leaves the ring.

Michael Cole: A very intense Batista there vowing that at Survivor Series he will regain what he says is his World Heavyweight Championship!!

JBL: Well Batista will need that intensity for later on Michael as he takes on the 7 foot 3 monster, the Great Khali!

Michael Cole: Also coming up tonight, my broadcast partner JBL interviews Rey Mysterio!

JBL: Believe me I have a BIG surprise in store for Rey Mysterio!!

-Commercial-

“All about Cool” plays throughout the arena to heat from the crowd as the former tag team champions Deuce and Domino make their way to the ring along with Cherry in their car for the following match.

Michael Cole: Here comes the former tag team champions who will be looking for a win in this next match up to put themselves back in contention for the tag team titles

JBL: Tag Team titles currently held by the most functional dysfunctional tag team in the history of Smackdown, Matt Hardy and the captain MVP!!

”Biscuits & Gravy” plays throughout the arena to a big pop from the crowd as Jesse & Festus makes his way to the ring with Jesse guiding Festus to the ring.

JBL: This is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in all my years in this business, the transformation that takes place on Festus when the bell rings is unbelievable

Michael Cole: Well as Jesse says when that bell rings, heads are gonna roll and that’s exactly what’s happened since this young team debuted on Smackdown just a few weeks ago!

Match #1
Deuce & Domino (w/Cherry) vs. Jesse & Festus

Match Overview: The bell rings and the transformation of Festus happens almost instantly as he chases Deuce and Domino from the ring. Jesse has to stop him and convince him to go to his corner. Jesse and Domino then start the match for their respective teams. Both men lock up and Domino pushes Jesse into the corner but Jesse reverses it and has Domino in the corner, the referee calls for a break. Domino sneakily rakes Jesse in the eye and takes control of the match for his team. Deuce and Domino continue the beat down of Jesse by utilizing quick tags and hitting several double team moves. At one point in the match Cherry even gets involved by choking Jesse over the bottom rope and slapping him. The match continues with Deuce and Domino beating down on Jesse with Festus absolutely dying to get into the action. The fans will on Jesse as he tries to build momentum and he eventually gets the tag to Festus who comes in and cleans house with a series of clotheslines followed up by several scoop slams on his opponents. The match ends when Jesse does a flying clothesline sending both him and Deuce to the outside, and in the ring Festus hits a running Powerslam on Domino for the 1-2-3.
Winners: Jesse & Festus

As soon as the bell rings after the match the transformation of Festus happens again and he stands in the middle of the ring looking confused, Jesse jumps back in celebrating and guides him out of the ring, after raising his hand.

Michael Cole: Did you see the way Festus transformed again after he got the 1-2-3 and the bell rung?

JBL: Do you think he even knows what he accomplished? It’s just a look of bewilderment like he doesn’t comprehend what he’s just done; it’s one of the strangest things in Smackdown history Michael!

Michael Cole: Well with that win, you have to believe that Jesse & Festus might possibly be in for a shot at the tag team championships?

JBL: Hey if they keep getting the wins then there’s no reason why they wouldn’t get a shot at tag team gold, stranger things have happened! On that note Michael Cole it’s time to take care of business!

”Longhorn” plays and JBL takes off his headset and puts his cowboy hat back on, he then heads towards the ring with a microphone in hand.

Michael Cole: Up next my broadcast partner JBL will interview Rey Mysterio, when we come back!

-Commercial-

We come back from the commercial to see JBL standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone in hand and a broad smile on his face.

JBL: My guest at this time is a former World Heavyweight Champion…Rey Mysterio!

”Booyaka” hits throughout the arena to a huge pop from the crowd and the pyro of Rey Mysterio goes off as he bursts his way down the ramp, lightening up the New York crowd. JBL watches Mysterio clapping the fans hands with an arrogant look on his face as if he’s better than Rey. Mysterio climbs into the ring and goes up on the turnbuckle with JBL watching on, refusing to take his eyes from Rey. After Mysterio has finished saluting the fans he gets a microphone and joins JBL in the middle of the ring. JBL begins to smile once again as he begins to speak.

JBL: Well Rey first things first, you have a DVD coming out am I right? Titled the Biggest Little Man is that correct?

Rey Mysterio: Yeah

JBL: Would you like to tell us about this DVD?

Rey Mysterio looks bewildered at JBL’s sudden interest in the DVD and then goes on to answer the question.

Rey Mysterio: This DVD called “The Biggest Little Man” basically documents my career from my early days in ECW all the way through until Wrestlemania 22 when I won the World Heavyweight Championship. The title represents the fact that I’ve always been an underdog throughout my career and I’ve battled my way through everything and always came out on top…

JBL interrupts Rey Mysterio abruptly.

JBL: To hell with this, what a load of crap, I thought we heard enough of this Cinderella story, this is ridiculous. Guys like you Rey are what are wrong with our business today, people that come out here and sweet talk the fans when you really don’t give a damn about them!

JBL takes a breath with the rage clearly visible on his face.

Rey Mysterio: What’s your problem JBL? Why….

JBL cuts Rey Mysterio off again, a move that gets the crowd booing.

JBL: What’s my problem? I’m JBL dammit! Where the hell is my DVD? I was the longest reigning champion in Smackdown history, I wasn’t some four foot nothing underdog that held the title for a cup of coffee and only had the thing in the first place because he was in the right place at the right time!!

The crowd starts a “JBL sucks” chant as Rey begins to walk closer to JBL who backs off slightly.

Rey Mysterio: Well this “four foot nothing” underdog is the reason you’re sitting on your ass every week instead of still being in the ring!

The crowd cheers as JBL throws his cowboy hat down and looks as if he’s about to snap.

Rey Mysterio: Don’t you remember JBL? I retired you! I…

JBL cuts Rey Mysterio off quickly again.

JBL: We’ve all heard it before Rey, yes you did beat me, yes you did retire me, but that was just one fluke in a superstar that’s made a career on just plain flukes, and it makes me sick! You see you can call yourself the biggest little man in the WWE but I’m not fooled, all that tells me is Rey that you’re sugar-coating the fact that your career is just one big fluke!!!

JBL gets in Rey’s face and starts to become more aggressive.

Rey Mysterio: A fluke huh? Well JBL, me and you…any type of match you want, any time you want! How about right now huh?

JBL stands back and smiles.

JBL: Rey, remember I’m an announcer, as much as I’d love to beat your ass right now I’m not allowed to! But not to worry, I had a feeling you would resort to cheap tactics as to calling out an announcer that hasn’t wrestled in over a year, so I went and got you someone that would be more than happy to kick your ass! As a matter of fact, this is someone you know very well…

JBL points to the entrance way and Mysterio looks around waiting to see who it is as JBL heads back towards the announce table.

Michael Cole: Who will Rey Mysterio’s opponent be? Find out when we come back from this quick break!

-Commercial-

We come back to see Rey Mysterio standing in the ring waiting on his opponent, and much to his shock the familiar music of “Ooo Chavo” hits throughout the arena to heat from the crowd. Chavo Guerrero comes sprinting down the ramp and slides into the ring getting the match started with Mysterio.

Match #2
Chavo Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio

Match Overview: This one starts really quickly with Chavo and Mysterio brawling and having to be separated by the official. The brawl goes to the outside and even over to the announce table where JBL takes great pleasure in seeing Rey’s head slammed on the table. Chavo then rolls Rey back into the ring and continues to beat down on him in what is a very physical contest. The crowd gets on Chavo’s back chanting the familiar “Chavo sucks” and tries to will on Rey by shouting for the “619”. Chavo Guerrero then goes to work on the ribs of Mysterio that Finlay weakened during the stretcher match at Cyber Sunday. Chavo then does his best to weaken down the ribs throughout the match and stay on the offence but Rey manages to battle back after being willed on by the crowd. Rey manages to hit several quick moves including a drop kick sending Chavo to the outside. Mysterio then tries to fly over the ropes going for a cross body and hit it. Mysterio then picks Chavo up but a resourceful Chavo manages to send Mysterio into the ring steps. Chavo then quickly goes after Rey, slamming is ribs across the barricade before sliding him back into the ring but only getting a two count. Chavo applies an abdominal stretch trying to work down the ribs of Rey but has to break it because the referee catches him using the ropes for leverage. Chavo then wastes valuable time arguing with the referee which lets Rey back into the match. From here onwards Mysterio builds offence and shortly afterwards he manages to hit the 619 followed by a springboard leg drop for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

Michael Cole: Mysterio beats the odds again!

The referee raises Mysterio’s hand in victory and Rey then turns his attentions to JBL, staring at him.

JBL: Michael, I think I’m about to do something I’ll regret!

JBL takes off his headset and slowly makes his way towards the ring, shouting at Mysterio who is challenging him to come in. JBL looks as if he is about to get in but stops and starts to smile, Mysterio then turns around and is cracked in the ribs by Finlay and his Shillelagh, Finlay then nails Mysterio in the head with it, before picking him up and delivering the Celtic Cross!!

JBL then walks back to the announce table and puts his head set on with a huge grin on his face.

Michael Cole: A vicious attack by Finlay on Mysterio!!

JBL: If it wasn’t Finlay that done that Michael it might have been me, Rey Mysterio got what he deserved here!

Michael Cole: What exactly is your problem with Rey Mysterio anyway?

JBL: My problem is that he’s undeserving of all the attention he gets when there are people with twice the talent that don’t get half as much attention as he does!! But to hell with him Michael let’s continue the show!!

Michael Cole: Switching gears ladies and gentlemen, we’re hearing right now that its official, at Survivor Series it will be the NEW World Heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker defending against the former champion, Batista!!

JBL: Batista guarantees he will be the World Champion again, to do so he has to beat the dead man!

-Commercial-

We come back to see Matt Hardy sitting back in the locker room watching a monitor still nursing the cut around his eye. You can hear the door opening in the background and MVP comes strolling into the picture with both his title belts in hand. Matt Hardy stands up as MVP begins to speak.

M.V.P: Hey partner, I just wanted to say I feel really bad about what’s happened to you…I mean it meant me and you weren’t able to get in the ring last Sunday…

Matt Hardy: Yeah well I know how much you wanted that to happen right?

M.V.P: Yes, in the spirit of competition though because we’re partners man, me and you…amigos man!

Matt smiles then replies to MVP humouring him.

Matt Hardy: Homies right?

MVP looks at Matt funny then nods his head.

M.V.P: Yeah but most importantly, we’re tag team champions, and it hurt me that you weren’t able to compete tonight because well I was scheduled to defend my United States Championship and well my sources tell me that you would’ve been in line for that shot!

Matt Hardy: Really?

M.V.P: But it doesn’t matter man, I’m sure you’ll have the honour of competing against me again in the future, so tonight since you can’t I’ve got the night off

MVP turns around about to leave when Matt claps him on the back.

Matt Hardy: Hold on a second…I was supposed to pass a message on to you…

MVP starts to look worried.

M.V.P: What message?

Matt Hardy: A message from Vickie Guerrero that she managed to find a replacement, someone deserving of a United States Title shot…

M.V.P: What? Who might that be?

Matt Hardy: Chuck Palumbo?

MVP looks at Matt in a rage.

M.V.P: You’re just telling me this now?!?

Matt Hardy: Yeah sorry about that…but you better hurry up, your match is up next!

MVP stares at Matt then turns away in a rage leaving the locker room to go out for his match, the camera just focuses on Matt standing with a smile on his face, he then shouts to MVP.

Matt Hardy: Good luck captain!!

-Commercial-

“You Will Remember Me” hits throughout the arena to a big pop from the crowd as Chuck Palumbo rides to the ring on his motorcycle along with Michelle McCool.

Michael Cole: Since his return here on Smackdown, Chuck Palumbo has been on a tremendous role here picking up wins week after week and this will be his first opportunity at singles gold since he’s came back!

JBL: I’ve been saying it for months Michael, if Chuck Palumbo kept picking up the wins it wouldn’t be long before he had championship gold, and now he’s got a chance to capture the United States Title tonight!!

”I’m Comin” hits throughout the arena to huge heat from the crowd as MVP makes his way to the ring, coming out from his usual blow up entrance way.

JBL: PRIMETIME!!

The pyro goes off as MVP swaggers his way to the ring with both the tag team title and the US title belt in hand. MVP enters the ring drops the belts and does his trademark “Ballin” taunt.

JBL: How unfair is this to MVP? His own tag team partner Matt Hardy tells him that he has to go out there and defend his title, five minutes before the match against an athlete like Chuck Palumbo, its ridiculous Michael!

Michael Cole: Well if MVP is as good as he says he is then it shouldn’t be a problem!

Match #3
WWE United States Championship
MVP © vs. Chuck Palumbo

Match Overview: Chuck Palumbo out powers MVP at the start of this match forcing him into the corner twice with the tie-up. MVP acts cocky by slapping Palumbo in the face until Palumbo drops MVP with a big right hand. Palumbo tries to follow up on this but MVP drops down and rolls outside of the ring. Palumbo tries to follow Porter and chases him around the ring, Porter then slides back in the ring and tries to elbow drop Palumbo as he re-enters but Palumbo moves out of the way sending MVP to the canvas. Palumbo then picks up MVP and delivers several right hands, taking him into the corner and pounding him in the corner with several big back elbows. Palumbo then controls the match with several power moves from here onwards until he tries to charge at MVP who is in the corner but a resourceful MVP moves out of the way sending Palumbo into the ring post. MVP controls the match from this point on, getting a near fall with the Ballin Elbow. The crowd wills Palumbo back into the match and he hits MVP with several power slams which get near falls. The ending to the match comes when Palumbo goes for the Full Throttle but MVP counters by nearly pushing Palumbo into the referee, but Palumbo stops managing to shield the referee, MVP then nails a quick low blow whilst the referee has his back turned and then nails the Playmaker to get the 1-2-3!
Winner: and STILL WWE United States Champion…MVP!

Michael Cole: MVP steals one from Chuck Palumbo!

JBL: He didn’t steal one Michael; he took advantage of the situation, winning this match with very little preparation that is the mark of a true champion. That is why he’s half man, half amazing, half tag team champion, the only man that can be three halves!

Michael Cole: He shoved Palumbo into the referee then hit a low blow on him when the referee wasn’t looking; Palumbo got robbed here in my opinion…

JBL: You do whatever it takes to win and that’s why MVP is still the United States Champion!

We cut backstage to see Vickie Guerrero in her office reading the latest edition of the WWE magazine when Jamie Noble comes walking in.

Jamie Noble: Hey Vickie Guerrero!

Noble has a sort of sly smile on his face.

Vickie Guerrero: Hi Jamie…

The two stand silent with Noble heavy breathing, leaving Vickie looking freaked out.

Vickie Guerrero: Well?

Jamie Noble: Oh right well Vickie Guerrero; you know I seen earlier on that Rey Mysterio is getting this new DVD out right, Biggest Little Man, well I was just wondering what’s the chances of Jamie Noble getting one of those DVD things huh?

Vickie Guerrero starts to laugh.

Vickie Guerrero: YOU want a DVD?

Jamie Noble: Yeah I want a DVD, I mean Rey Mysterio isn’t the only one that’s overcame the odds, I’ve faced giants too, I mean just these past few weeks you’ve put me in matches against The Great Khali, Batista, and even the Undertaker!

Vickie Guerrero: Yes but Jamie you didn’t win any of those matches…

Noble then cuts off Vickie raising his hand then beginning to speak.

Jamie Noble: But we know the reason I’m in those matches right? You’re trying to make Jamie Noble a main event guy aren’t you?

Vickie shakes her head but Noble keeps talking.

Jamie Noble: I suppose it makes sense I mean I’ve already dominated that little cruiserweight division, and I’m double tough…It makes perfect sense and thank you Vickie Guerrero for finally recognising the talent of Jamie Noble!

Vickie Guerrero smiles and nods her head.

Vickie Guerrero: You know what Jamie you’re right…if you impress me, maybe you just might get a DVD…

Noble nods his head smiling.

Vickie Guerrero: As a matter a fact I’m going to give you a chance to impress me tonight…as it’s you…one on one…with Kane!

Noble’s eyes nearly pop out of his head upon hearing his opponent for tonight.

Jamie Noble: VICKIE GUERRERO YOU’RE CRAZY!!! KANE VERSUS JAMIE NOBLE???? KANE GRABS JAMIE NOBLE (motioning for a chokeslam)…SLAM!!!!! JAMIE NOBLE GOES SPLAT!!!! DAMN YOU VICKIE GUERRERO!!!!

Noble turns around and leaves the office as Vickie Guerrero continues to laugh.

-Commercial-

”Slow Chemical” plays throughout the arena to a huge pop from the crowd as Kane makes his way to the ring with a very intense look on his face.

”Pitbull” then plays as a very nervous looking Jamie Noble makes his way to the ring.

Michael Cole: Jamie Noble is a fantastic athlete but his mouth is getting him in trouble week after week JBL!

JBL: It is Michael, but do you see Jamie Noble backing down? I don’t…personally I’d rather a Jamie Noble DVD than a Rey Mysterio DVD…

Match #4
Jamie Noble vs. Kane

This match is a quick match with Kane hitting all of his trademark moves, basically toying with Noble. The end comes when Kane picks Jamie Noble up and hits a thunderous chokeslam and covers for an easy 1-2-3.
Winner: Kane

Kane’s celebration however is short lived as he is taken down by a clubbing forearm from behind by Mark Henry.

Michael Cole: Wait a minute!!! Mark Henry!!!

Kane is taken down by the Worlds Strongest Slam, Henry then follows up with a big splash!

JBL: He’s decimating Kane!!

Michael Cole: Mark Henry getting revenge for his loss last week against Kane!

Mark Henry picks up Kane and locks in the Bear Hug!!

JBL: That’s it Michael! Ball Game! He’s the World’s Strongest Man, and once he locks that in then it’s over!!

Several referees come to the ring but are unable to pull Henry off as he squeezes the life out of Kane. Henry holds the submission on until Kane just completely fades away in his arms passing out. Henry lets Kane drop to the mat and stands over him victorious.

Michael Cole: Mark Henry making a statement!

“Somebodies Gonna Get It” plays to heat from the crowd as Henry leaves the ring having taken out Kane.

We come back to see The Great Khali on the camera backstage with translator Runjin Singh. The Great Khali goes on to speak in Indian, then stops to allow his translator to speak.

Runjin Singh: The Great Khali says that tonight he has a match with Batista, and unlike Batista, The Great Khali has beaten The Undertaker…

The crowd boo in the background.

Runjin Singh: The Great Khali also says that this means that he should be facing The Undertaker at Survivor Series…The Great Khali realises that Batista has a rematch clause which means that Batista and only Batista will challenge The Undertaker…but The Great Khali says that tonight he will take out Batista…then after that, The Great Khali will take out The Undertaker…and prove that he is the only man on Smackdown…that deserves to be the World Heavyweight Champion…

A graphic featuring Batista versus The Great Khali appears on the titantron.

Michael Cole: Up next it will be The Animal, Batista against the Punjabi Giant, The Great Khali…two former World Champions collide…when we come back!

-Commercial-

The Great Khali’s music plays throughout the arena to huge heat from the crowd as he makes his way to the ring along with his translator Runjin Singh.

Michael Cole: Does The Great Khali have a case JBL? Should he be the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Title?

JBL: I think he does have a case Michael, when the Great Khali was the World Heavyweight Champion, there was a period of time where nobody could beat him, and it took a super human effort from Batista at the time to do so…but if The Great Khali was to beat Batista here, then that would have to put him in contention…

“I Walk Alone” plays throughout the arena to a huge pop from the crowd as Batista makes his way to the ring with a fired up look on his face. He is attacked immediately by The Great Khali upon entering the ring.

Match #5
Batista vs. The Great Khali

Match Overview: The Great Khali dominates the match from the early going after attacking Batista as he entered the ring. There was a point half way through the match where Khali charges at Batista who pulls down the top rope sending Khali to the outside, this allows Batista to start to build momentum, and Batista sends Khali into the ring steps then hammers in the back of the head several times before flinging him back into the ring. Batista then tries his best to keep Khali down, hitting a spear on the giant and covering but only for a two count. The Great Khali soon regains control though with a unique spinning kick. Khali covers Batista but this time he only gets a two count. Khali then stalks Batista and uses his giant hands to put the nerve hold on Batista. Batista yells in pain as the crowd try to will Batista back into it, but Batista slowly begins to fade. It looks as if Batista is down and out but somehow the former World Heavyweight Champion manages to battle back, he tries his best to get to his feet and manages to get up to his knees, he begins to battle away with several rights and lefts to the midsection of Khali, then manages to break the grip. Batista continues to hammer Khali then runs against the ropes and delivers a huge clothesline which causes Khali to stagger back and fall into the ropes, accidentally tying himself up. Batista seizes the opportunity to open up with loads of right hands to the head of Khali until the referee finally manages to pull him away allowing Khali to free himself from the ropes. Batista then stalks Khali and nails a big spine buster and covers for the 1-2-3 and a very hard fought victory!
Winner: Batista

Michael Cole: Batista defeats Khali!!!!

Batista stands up and begins to celebrate when the lights in the arena suddenly go dark and a gong is heard throughout the arena. To the delight of the crowd, The Undertaker appears on the screen.

The Undertaker: Batista…

Batista keeps his eyes focused on the screen watching intently.

The Undertaker: …At Survivor Series…

The camera shows Batista again before cutting back to the Undertaker.

The Undertaker: …You will…REST…IN…PEACE!!!!

The crowd cheers as a gong is heard again, The Undertaker disappears from the screen and the lights go back up. Batista then turns around unaware that the Great Khali is waiting on him, Khali locks in the Vice Grip on Batista. Batista tries his best to fight out of it but just fades away and passes out. Khali holds the grip on Batista until several referees come to try and restrain him but to no avail. Khali then relinquishes the grip and stands tall above Batista!

Michael Cole: Has the Great Khali staked his claim? The Great Khali wants to be the World Heavyweight Champion!!

JBL: But was the distraction from The Undertaker…a deliberate one?

The show goes off the air with Khali standing tall on the entrance way and Batista regaining consciousness in the ring.

End of Show.

Default Re: WWE: The Revival

SmackDown looks good. I'll have a review up sometime later today

EDIT

SmackDown Review

- Good opening commentary hyping the show. The JBL interview of Mysterio seems old and generic but it should be okay as long as it makes something interesting out of it. Batista vs. Great Khali sounds like a meh main event but if it is kept short and sweet then it should be fine as well. Losing at Cyber Sunday made Batista lose a lot of credibity but this promo was very good. Batista vs. Undertaker again at SS? Should be gimmick or somebody else should get involved like maybe Edge. Batista was very intense and I actually like him as champion

- A good push going for Jesse and Festus. The match was good for SmackDown but D&D could've gotten a lot more offence as they were former tag team champions. I like them as well. They still have to get better to be ready for the titles imo. JBL interview up next?

- JBL promo with Mysterio was okay but it was almost just the same as with Finlay interfering. This was a good way to advertise the Rey DVD and both men were caught well in character. Chavo returning is not something I imagined. I would've thought it was Finlay again. Rey won but Chavo could've. This was a good way to give Mysterio a mini push. So Finlay does attack Rey. This just continues this rivalry and I hope you can have a good match with the two in a blow off. JBL teasing a fight was a good part as well. I hope he comes back soon and with an angle. I don't want him to just come out of retirement.

- MVP/Hardy promo was just the usual but it meant that both men were well written. Chuck Palumbo vs. MVP is predictable and I hate Palumbo as well. The match was better than I expected but it's still Palumbo. Glad that MVP retained the title, which I knew would happen. Matt Hardy vs. MVP @ Survivor Series in a ladder match pls

- Jamie Noble with his usual antics in Vicky's office. Usual Noble promo but instad of CM Punk it was Kane here. A little similar to real SmackDown but since it is the first episode, you still have time to take things in a different direction. I hope Noble gets some kind of push as I really like him. Another obvious winner in a sqash match. Noble could've gotten a little more offence as well. Kane is not at the level of Batista, Taker of Khali so Noble could've done some decent damage on Kane atleast. Kane and Hanry could have a good feud if done right. I'm intrigued but maybe if this was to happen when the referee was down then Noble might've been able to pick up a win over the Big Red Monster. The beatdown was really good

- I don't really know Runjin Singh's character but he looked alright here. Khali should speak something. This is BTB, you could've have him learn a little bit of English and speak some time as a monster would. The main event is not going to be short is it? The match was not as boring as it could've been. But Khali shouldn't have lost to one spinebuster. Atleast 2 or maybe even 3 spinebusters would work. You could've done a Batista Bomb as well in ways in which Batista doesn't actually have to lift him up. The finish made Khali looks weak but it was okay. Undertaker distraction after the show was good but there needs to be a little more physicality if you're continuing this feud. Khali taking down Batista afterwards was good but a sour end to a show. I like Batista and Khali and JBL implying that Undertaker may want Batista out of the title picture is a good way to end the show with a question mark

- Overall the show was pretty good like RAW, leaps better than ECW. I'll tune in soon for the next series of shows

EDIT II

I don't have a BTB running right now. I'm just reviewing shows that I like

Smackdown Feedback:

Good opening promo to get the night kicked off with. Only complaint was that maybe it ran a little bit too short. Just a bit more as Batista doesn't talk much on the mic anyways but you were able to make him sound realistic. That's a good thing as normally he's probably one of the hardest people you can write with. Batista vs. Khali is a solid main event tonight as well.

I haven't seen Jesse and Festus but once and that was just this past Tuesday on ECW so I don't know too much about them. Apparently this Festus thing happens in the WWE too right now I'm guessing. I can see a future title shot but really, I doubt MVP and Hardy lose to Jesse and Festus.

Good little promo here and seems similar to the one that happened on WWE a month or two ago however long that was. Chavo coming back was a good idea on your part and never really did expect that to be honest. As far as Finlay goes, not too much of a shocker for him to interfere as I knew this storyline was going to continue on.

Hardy and MVP segment was enjoyable and I really did like how it went about. Palumbo actually has been getting a decent push on Smackdown so it's a credible match for MVP tonight which is always great. No shocker to see him win and use those cheating tactics. I'm guessing you're going to hold off MVP/Hardy for a bit still like WWE had.

I love Noble. He's great and his push on Smackdown he had been getting was great too. This little storyline with Vickie elevates him a bit despite him losing. At least he's on TV now. Hopefully when he gets done with this, he'll still stay on SD and wrestle pretty often as I really do enjoy him.

And onto the main event we move. Batista vs. Khali is always a credible main event as mentioned earlier. Um, no shock to see the Animal get the win as really I never had a doubt all along. The ending is rather interesting to see Khali take down Batista so we must be seeing Khali try and get back involved into the title situation. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.

It's great for you to be back and great to see your first show. Overall, main thing is maybe one or two more promos could be added. That's the only thing I saw as you could have easily had maybe one other superstar cut a interview which would have gotten him some more air-time. But it's fine considering that you are taking off from where WWE left off.

Ok, done with that review. I've been busy/grounded for the past week so I need to try and return the 5 or 6 other reviews. Look for those this weekend or early next week. No promise on the date. I might end up posting a news page tomorrow, depending on if I get news from Event or not. Most likely Raw preview will end up going along with the news page too. If it doesn't go up tomorrow, look for it Sunday or Monday. Ok.
