Default Extreme Championship Wrestling 2008

This is the first BTB I have ever done. I enjoyed reading other BTBs, but I decided it’s time to make my BTB.

Backstory: This will be a ECW BTB only. ECW takes place after Survivor Series. With CM Punk successfully defending his ECW Championship on SS. Mr. McMahon was disappointed with the ratings. He was very close to disbanding it, until Shane McMahon suggested to hire Paul Heyman to be the head booker. Mr. McMahon agreed and called Heyman. Paul Heyman accepted the offer, but the roster was very small. So Paul got some superstars from both Raw and Smackdown!

From Smackdown! to Extreme Championship Wrestling
Kane
Kenny Dykstra

From Raw to Extreme Championship Wrestling
Carlito
Cody Rhodes
Jeff Hardy
Umaga

Wrestlers signed
Marcus Cor Von
Rob Van Dam
The Sandman

Main Event

H-MVP
F-Rob Van Dam-ECW Heavyweight champion
H-Rhino

Mid Card
F-Jeff Hardy
F-CM Punk
F-Colt Cabana
H-Rodney Mack
H-Kenny Dykstra
H-Carlito
F-Cody Rhodes
F-Marcus Cor Von-ECW Television champion
F- The Sandman
F-Tommy Dreamer
H-Shelton Benjamin
H-Brother Ray
H-Brother Devon

F-Sabu
H-Jamin Olivencia

Summary on Jamin: Jamin Olivencia is a Puerto Rican just like Carlito. As of right now Jamin is having Carlito's back in his matches. In real life he is in the active roster of OVW.

Opening promo was good liked how Morrison would never get another shot if he loses.

Sandman Vs Cody Rhodes was just like all the other Sandman matches with him only using the can i dont know but it was nothing special to me however did like the ending.

Nice backstage segment with Rob and Elijah i liked how Rob finished by actions speak louder than words.

I think Jeff and Dreamer make a really good team and maybe should form some kind of alliance in the future ?

Main event was the match of the night it had a good high flying moments but the only thing that bugged me was that Rob wouldnt do the frogspalsh after only doing a dropkick maybe like a kick to the head but not a dropkick.

Overall i good first show i give 6.5/10

I like that you're trying to keep this realistic and making it a challenge for yourself. Looking around at a lot of new BTB's you see the repeated habit of making booking easy by bringing back the likes of Kurt Angle, Christian Cage to the WWE as well as signing AJ Styles, Samoa Joe amonsgt others. Choosing just ECW too is a challenge of its own anyway!

I think you brought over some good talent from Raw & Smackdown and the roster is as it should be for an hour show so i would limit it to the amount of new guys you bring up from OVW, which is great to see instead of poaching TNA stars

Good luck man, i will be following this

Chimel: This match is scheduled for one fall, coming to the ring from Chicago, Illinois weighing in at 222 pounds, CM Punk.

Nige’s ECW Review

The opening promo was pretty good despite being a little too short, but that’s to be expected as you’re in the very early stages. As time passes, you learn to write better and in more detail. What a match in store at DTD

First match would have been good to see, but the only problem was that you had Jeff kick out of the Backstabber early on. Having someone kick out of another’s finisher is a bad move as it doesn’t sell the move or the wrestler. Having him win with it later helped repair the damage but it was a mistake to use it early and have Jeff kick out. Nevertheless, a decent match up and a great opener

The Marcus Cor Von interview was good, very intense and you get the feel that he is a real danger, but if he loses to Punk clean tonight, it’s all been for nothing, but I expect some interference from RVD & Carlito

The next match was good and it’s great that you’re putting on good matches. Elijah Burke is a great talent but you can’t job out your number one contender without interference, even if it was a dirty win. RVD looks really weak now and he shouldn’t be beating Punk at DTD

The main event was very good, these two do work well together in the ring. I was glad that you had Cor Von look like a real threat, and he hit the pounce too! Yay! Mark Out! Carlito had to get involved and maybe Punk got up too quickly, not selling the pounce to get the win. An altercation between Cur Von & Carlito would have given him time to recover

Overall. You could have done another one or two promos to fill up the time. As time goes by, you will get more detail into the shows as it’s a progressional thing. The booking of RVD losing when he has a title shot at a PPV and Jeff no selling the Backstabber was not wise, but it’s only your second show
