Re: Szumi & Wolf Beast Present - WWE: For The Children
Smackdown: April 4th 2008: Orlando, Florida:
Opening Video & Theme
Pyro
Michael Cole: Hello everybody, and welcome to WWE Friday Night Smackdown! We are just five days removed from thee biggest event in the history of this company, Wrestlemania 24! We are live from the Amway Arena, here in Orlando, Florida, and tonight, all the fallout from Wrestlemania begins!
JBL: Michael Cole, these people don’t give a damn about hearing you yak and yak about Wrestlemania 24! These people already know it’s the best damn thing in sports entertainment today, and that Wrestlemania is the biggest stage of ‘em all! But tonight, like you said before I could, is the fallout! We have a new United States Champion, new Tag Team Champions, but worse of all, somehow, someway, The Undertaker is still the World Heavyweight Champion and still undefeated at Wrestlemania! Cole, it’s a disgrace!
**METALINGUS**
Michael Cole: Well JBL, it looks like the man who failed to beat the Deadman at Wrestlemania 24, The Rated R Superstar, Edge, is on his way out to the ring!
JBL: Ya’ gotta feel for Edge, Michael Cole. He is the rightful World Heavyweight Champion, and the Undertaker screwed Edge at Wrestlemania! The Phenom reigns supreme, my ass!
How Does One Bank A Dead Ass?
‘The Rated R Superstar’ Edge finishes making his way down the entrance ramp and into the ring, where he receives a mic from ring announcer Justin Roberts. Edge is dressed in a leather jacket, his own t-shirt, jeans, and sunglasses on top of his head. He’s been booed since coming out, received chants of ‘Undertaker’, and has looked pissed off the entire time. Edge raises the microphone to his mouth, only for another loud ‘Undertaker’ chant to start up.
Edge: You people can just shut the hell up!
The crowd boos, but then eventually goes quiet
Edge: Yeah, that’s what I thought! You know, tonight was supposed to be my night! My night, my time! I was supposed to walk out to this ring tonight, World Heavyweight Champion! But no, at Wrestlemania 24, the grand daddy of them all, the biggest spectacle sports entertainment has ever known, the Undertaker… the Phenom, defeated me in the Smackdown main event, and retained my World Heavyweight Championship. You hear that, ‘Taker!? My night, my time, and MY BELT!
The crowd boos as Edge pauses to spit to the outside of the ring, furious
Edge: At Wrestlemania 24, it was supposed to be the start of the Rated R Era! I was going to end the “historic” and overrated legacy that the Undertaker has created at Wrestlemania, snapping his undefeated streak! But go figure, the one time, the one time the Undertaker wrestles someone with talent at Wrestlemania, he gets a fluke victory!
More boos from the crowd
Edge: You people can boo me all you want, but the truth is the truth! The Undertaker is an old fraud. The Deadman… The Phenom… sorry, but the Rated R Superstar isn’t seven years old anymore, I don’t buy into all that supernatural crap! I think that the Phenom is a crock, and just like the entire aura of the Undertaker, his victory over me at Wrestlemania was a crock too! Deadman, you could never beat me again!
More boos from the crowd
Edge: I don’t know what it is with you people, but for some reason, you blind sheep buy into the Undertaker! Well sorry, not Edge! I’m not going to stand back and praise your precious Undertaker to high heaven, or high hell, or whatever it is you Undertaker worshipping freaks believe in! Ah no, not me, not Edge! I refuse to stand back and let the Undertaker “reign supreme” on Smackdown; I am going to take a stand!
Edge paces around the ring as the crowd listens on
Edge: I’ve told you people before, and I’ve been telling you ever since the Royal Rumble, this year, this is my time! This is the Rated R Era! I refuse to let injuries, affairs, Triple H, the Undertaker, or anyone else stand in my way! I don’t care what I have to do, who I have to beat, I am going to get my rematch with the Undertaker, and I am going to win back my World Heavyweight Championship that I never even lost! I won’t slip up, and I won’t lose to the Deadman, not again! And like I said, I don’t care who I have to beat, or what I have to do. That starts right here, tonight! Tonight, I team up with The Great Khali to take on the wheelchair buddies, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair and ‘The Heart Break Kid’ Shawn Michaels…
The crowd cuts Edge off with cheers for the two men
Edge: Cheer all you want now, but after tonight, those two old geezers are going to be lying on the canvas, broken and beaten, their ribs and hips shattered by the Rated R Superstar!
The crowd lays into Edge with more boos
Edge: But you know what? HBK and the Nature Boy, I’ll focus on them later, but for right now, Deadman…
Edge walks over to the camera, and gets inches away from it before speaking one last time
Edge: Deadman, I’m not gonna back down from you… you don’t scare me. The time will come, Taker, when you and I meet up in this ring again for my rematch… I will beat you, and I will win back my World Heavyweight Championship! And Taker, you can bank your dead ass on it!
Edge backs away from the camera as **Metalingus** hits again, and Edge looks around the arena as the show cuts to its first…
Commercial
When Smackdown comes back, the Major Brothers, Brian and Brett, are already in the ring, doing absolutely nothing.
Michael Cole: Welcome back to Smackdown folks! We had some strong words there from Edge to start the show, so John, what’s your take on the situation?
**SOMEBODY’S GONNA GET IT**
JBL: Michael Cole, I’ve been preaching it ever since Sunday night, and I’ll continue to do so: Edge was screwed out of victory at Wrestlemania 24! The Undertaker is not the caliber of talent that Edge is, and whenever the Undertaker comes out from hiding, because that’s what he’s doing right now, hiding from Edge, Edge will kick his ass and win back the World Heavyweight Title! And that’s a fact, Cole!
The WWE Tag Team Champions, Big Daddy V and Mark Henry, slowly (because they can’t go fast, they’re fucking fat) make their entrance to the back from some boos
Michael Cole: Now John, I know we have some differing opinions, but this time, your opinion is even more ridiculous than before! The Undertaker was the better man at Wrestlemania, and he cleanly defeated Edge. Saying anything else is nothing but a lie and an attempt to tarnish the Deadman’s credibility!
Remember folks, that’s the wrestler Deadman’s credibility, not the internet Deadman; he never had any. Nevertheless, Big Daddy V and Mark Henry enter the ring, and prepare for the squash match.
First Match: Non-Title Tag Team Match
Big Daddy V & Mark Henry © vs. The Major Brothers
BDV & MH are two of the biggest fat asses in this company, and as individuals, they were un-over-and-at-times-unstoppable-monsters, but as a team, they are un-over-and-unstoppable-monsters. Tonight, they were again, the latter, making quick work of Brett and Brian Major with a barrage of right hands, big slams, and ‘running’ avalanches. After some more sloppy offense, Big Daddy V plants Brian Major with an elevated scoop slam while Mark Henry gives Brett a powerslam. Simultaneous splashes follow, and a double cover leads to the quick and easy three count from referee Mickie Hansen.
Winner: Big Daddy V & Mark Henry @ 2:13
**BIG BEHEMOTH** hits this time, and Big Daddy V and Mark Henry pose with their respective WWE Tag Team Title Belts, looking monstrous as ever
Michael Cole: JBL, Big Daddy V and Mark Henry continue to look more and more dominant each time they team up here on Smackdown!
JBL: For the first time in a long time, you got something right, Cole! Big Daddy V and Mark Henry are two bad, bad men, and they’ve been kicking ass and taking names ever since they’ve teamed up! They beat the two Mexican jumping beans at Wrestlemania, and now tonight, the wonderless twins get their asses handed to ‘em.
You Don’t Know Why
The show cuts to the back, where Smackdown interviewer Josh Matthews is standing by with Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin and Layla El.
Josh Matthews: At this time, I’d like to everyone to welcome, The Miz.
The camera gets a close shot on just The Miz, who smirks cockily
Josh Matthews: Miz, at Wrestlemania 24, you were one of five men who participated in the Money in the Bank ladder match, only to come up short as Mr. Kennedy won the Money in the Bank for the second straight year. What are your thoughts on competing at Wrestlemania, only to come up short?
The Miz: Josh man, at Wrestlemania 24, a tragedy occurred. You know what that tragedy was called? Exactly what you just described; Ken freaking Kennedy winning the Money in the Bank ladder match, and everyone in that match not named The Miz working together to make sure The Miz didn’t win Money in the Bank! Oh yeah, it’s true, Josh. All those no namers, Mr. Kennedy, DH Smith, CM Punk, Kane, and Chris Jericho, they purposely went out of their way to make sure that yours truly, The Miz, could not win Money in the Bank. Wrestlemania was nothing more than a classic example of 5 inferior wrestlers ganging up on one superior superstar, and somehow finding a way to get lucky and stop the superior one from winning.
The Miz closes his eyes and shakes his head in disbelief and sadness. Layla rubs Miz’s arm and shoulder to soothe him
The Miz: But do you know something, Josh?
Josh goes to reply, but The Miz cuts him off and speaks over him
The Miz: Of course you don’t, so let me fill you in. A man of my caliber, a man like The Miz will not be deterred from becoming a Champion in the WWE because of one fluke, one incident. And tonight, I will prove just that! Tonight, yours truly, The Miz, Mike Mizanin, is going to walk down the aisle, step into the ring, and kick the crap out of that overrated midget, Rey Mysterio! And you know why, Josh?
Matthews goes to respond again, but The Miz replies before Josh can
The Miz: Again, of course you don’t. I’m going to beat Rey Mysterio tonight because I am The Miz, and I am an all-star! Rey Mysterio, he’s billed as a legendary cruiserweight, but I got news for everyone. By weight definition, Mike Mizanin is a cruiserweight, and The Miz will show that he’s the best damn cruiserweight, and the best damn wrestler, period, in this company! Now Josh, step back, and let The Miz give the fans what they want.
Layla gives Josh a nasty look while The Miz shoves him out of the shot. The Miz then puffs up his chest, staring off to his right. As The Miz swivels his head from the side back to the center, he delivers his final line of…
The Miz: HOORAH!
The Miz strikes a signature pose while Layla rubs her hand on his chest, as the scene fades out, and a video fades in
The Phenom Era… Continues
A dark night scenery is shown, with a lone cross-shaped tombstone engraved into the mossy ground as the center piece, a large tree in the background as well. A bolt of lightning strikes the tombstone, filling the screen with a bright light for a few seconds. The bright light dims, and rolls straight into clips of the current World Heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker, in several of his Wrestlemania matches, featuring mainly his victories over ‘Superfly’ Jimmy Snuka at Wrestlemania 7, Giant Gonzalez at Wrestlemania 9, Sycho Sid at 13, Kane at 14, Ric Flair at 18, Batista at 23, and then his latest victory over Edge at Wrestlemania 24. A series of text flashing “16-0” shows, and then more clips of The Undertaker kicking ass and taking names, showing clips of his Hell in a Cell matches against Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley, and various other clips. As the video package starts to end, very quick flashes of the Undertaker throughout the Deadman years in quick succession, ending with the text of “The Phenom Continues”. Another quick flash of lightning appears, making the screen white for a quick moment. The whiteness disappears, cutting to a shot of the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 24, on his left knee, right knee sticking into the air, his right arm extended out and holding the World Heavyweight Championship Belt. The video ends with that still shot.
Commercial
Michael Cole: Welcome back to Smackdown, folks! We don’t have much time to talk right now folk because it’s time for the United States Championship to be decided between CM Punk and the new Champion, Finlay!
**THIS FIRE BURNS**
CM Punk charges out from the back to a loud ovation from the fans. Punk makes his entrance down the aisle and to the ring, trying to get the crowd pumped up all the while.
JBL: I really don’t like this CM Punk kid. No alcohol, no, drugs, and especially no premarital sex? It doesn’t take a genius to know what’s really going on with CM Punk, Michael Cole! I think someone spent a little too much time at the Catholic Church as a kid!
Michael Cole: Now you stop that, JBL! That’s just tasteless and disrespectful! CM Punk is a man of morals and values, and if you ask him, that’d probably make him better than you!
**LOVE TO FIGHT**
The United States Champion, Finlay, walks out to the back to boos. Finlay, shillelagh in hand, marches right down the aisle and into the ring, staring down Punk all the while, ready, for well, a fight.
JBL: Now here’s a real man, Cole! Finlay is a tough son of a gun who has no problems knocking your teeth out, and then heading over to a bar and pounding back a Guinness! A real man, Cole, something you or CM Punk would know nothing about! I can’t wait for Finlay to knock this kid on his ass!
2nd Match: WWE United States Championship Match:
CM Punk vs. Finlay ©
Ever since there’s been a brand extension, Smackdown has always had some of the best work horses in the company, and in 2008, CM Punk and Finlay are two top horses. So what does that mean? A hell of a match. The two men go through an extensive series of chain and mat wrestling for the first several minutes of the match, putting on a clinic for the Orlando fans. There’s near falls galore in the mat wrestling, as the two men roll this way and that, doing things words can’t describe. For those who have no interest in mat wrestling, then maybe it was stiff strikes they like; after ending their mat wrestling in a stand off, the two start to lay into each other with stiff strikes, throwing punches, forearms, elbows, knees, and kicks, as well as a few head butts from Finlay. Finlay starts to take advantage after the heavy hitting brawl, thanks to a quick combination of stinging jabs and a stiff lariat to Punk’s chest.
The matches continues on with Finlay starting to take somewhat of an advantage, and the Irish man continues to use hard-hitting strikes and various slams and suplexes to Punk to try and keep an advantage. However, Punk fights back after just several minutes of being on the defense, and scores with a big spinning heel kick to Finlay’s face, followed by a snap hurricanrana to give Punk the advantage. It’s CM Punk who goes on the offensive then for the next several minutes, using an all-around approach to just wear down Finlay. As the match eclipses the ten minute mark, CM Punk tries to finish the match off with the GTS, but Finlay squirms off of Punk’s shoulders, lands behind CM Punk, and nearly decapitates him with a running lariat.
From there on at, Finlay keeps laying into CM Punk with hard punches, another lariat, and an elevated scoop slam, before trying to finish him off with the Celtic Cross. However, Punk squirms out, and knocks Finlay silly with a leaping knee to the face. Finlay staggers into the corner as CM Punk charges, looking for a shining wizard. However, as CM Punk leaps off his feet and into the air, Finlay, in desperation, grabs his shillelagh and drills CM Punk across the face with it, knocking him senseless, right in plain view of referee Charles Robinson. Yeah, DQ.
Winner: VIA DQ- CM Punk @ 12:16
The bell starts ringing, but no music plays as Finlay doesn’t care about being disqualified, instead just stomping away at the back of Punk’s head. Finlay stomps away for several long moments, despite Robinson trying to persuade Finlay not to and Mark Yeaton continuing to ring the bell… which of course, has so much importance and significance! Finlay backs off eventually, only to pick up the shillelagh. Finlay twirls the shillelagh in his fingers as he waits for CM Punk to start to revive himself. After several seconds, Punk slowly starts to come to, trying to pull himself up to his knees. As Punk starts to do so, Finlay pulls back to swing away, home run style, but instead of booing, the crowd starts to cheer heavily. Why, you ask? Because here comes Matt Hardy! Matt Hardy sprints down the ramp from the back in street clothes, making a beeline towards the ring. Hardy dives into the ring as Finlay goes to swing the shillelagh, who is unbeknownst to Hardy’s presence, apparently. Hardy tackles Finlay from the side before he can drill the shillelagh across Punk’s temple, again, sending both men stumbling to the canvas. Hardy pounces right on top of Finlay, however, swinging away with a flurry of punches, trying to lay into Finlay’s head and face. However, Finlay is able to kick and squirm and then shove his way free from Hardy’s mounted position, and quickly rolls out of the ring. Finlay backs up the ramp in retreat as Hardy picks up the shillelagh, and chucks it out of the ring and at Finlay’s direction, landing near his feet. Hardy stares down Finlay for a few seconds, looking pissed as can be at the man who defeated him for the US Title at Wrestlemania 24, before turning to CM Punk, and check on him.
Michael Cole: Well John, despite what you say about CM Punk, he was the better man tonight, and if Finlay fought fairly, CM Punk would be our new United States Champion!
JBL: Finlay’s Irish, Cole! A shillelagh is fair game to those crazy bastards! CM Punk should’ve taken it like a man, but instead, he got knocked on his punk ass and failed to win the Title! And you know why, Cole? Because CM Punk is a loser!
Michael Cole: Well he’s walking away a winner, tonight, JBL, but if it wasn’t for Matt Hardy, he may not have walked at all for the rest of the night. Hardy saved CM Punk from a sure-concussion by running down to the ring and attacking Finlay.
JBL: There’s another chump if I ever saw one! Matt Hardy and CM Punk are the dream team, Cole! Punk’s a little pansy, and Matt Hardy’s a whiny baby. I hope Finlay knocks ‘em both out next week!
Michael Cole: You’re truly |
