Batista: Steroids? Absolutely not.

WWE Smackdown Preview September 30th, 2004 Paris, France.
With No Mercy 10 days away, things are sure heating up on Smackdown. This week, Smackdown heads into Paris, France. One of the most recognizable cities in the world. What will happen when Smackdown invades Paris?
Hell has broken loose between WWE Champion Rob Van Dam and AJ Styles since SummerSlam. Last week, AJ Styles defeated Rob Van Dam’s Bodyguard, Ken Shamrock then after the match, RVD brutally assaulted AJ Styles and took him out with a Van-Daminator, but that wasn’t enough. Rob Van Dam then took out a Ladder and set it up in the ring where he proceeded to nail a Five Star Frog Splash straight onto AJ Styles, is this a sign of No Mercy where AJ Styles faces Rob Van Dam in a Ladder Match for the WWE Championship? Or was it just plain revenge from Rob Van Dam?
Last week in Spain, General Manager of Smackdown Shane McMahon had called out Raw Superstar Triple H in an attempt to get in the face of The Game. McMahon also said that he had no problem slapping the taste out of Triple H’s mouth. Sources tell us that Triple H has been personally invited to Smackdown to have a face off with Shane McMahon. Will Triple H show up? If he does, what will go down in Paris?
In what seemed like a statement from ‘The American Badass’, The Undertaker said on Smackdown that Christian had pissed off Taker for the past couple of weeks, and he was sick and tired of it. Undertaker also stated that at No Mercy, only one man will leave the ring. Sources tell us that Christian will be answering back to The Undertaker’s statement in the first ever, ‘Peep Show’ where he is inviting Undertaker as his first ever guest. What will Christian have to say to Taker as they stand face to face with each other?
Brock Lesnar proved last week on Smackdown that he is an unstoppable monster, and no doubt he cannot be stopped, when he destroyed Sting last week, nailing a demolishing F5 to him. If you thought that wasn’t enough, Lesnar then proceeded to nail another F5, but this time through the Spanish Announce Table. In what seemed like an endless night between the two, after Kurt Angles match with Christian, Lesnar appeared out of no where and the two brawled all over the ring until security had to separate the two, which ended up with a security member being Belly To Belly Suplexed, and another being planted with an F5. As these two but heads, what will happen this week on Smackdown?
In other news, Rene Dupree was not too happy with what Eddie Guererro had to say about his latino heritage originating in Spain, in fact The Frechman tried to get physical with Guererro, only to be taken out by Eddie. Soon afterwards, the United States Champion Raven ran down to the ring as Eddie was giving a beating to Dupree, and then soon after Raven. Eddie did stand tall on Smackdown last week, but will he stand tall this week when he teams up with Jackie Gayda to take on Rene Dupree and Torrie Wilson in an Intergender Tag Team Match. Will Raven be scouting the match?
Kicking off Smackdown, we will be seeing a Triple Threat Match between Juventud Guererro, Billy Kidman and Paul London. All three men are obviously wanting a shot at the Cruiserweight Championship, but which one will stand out from the three?
Shane McMahon has announced a blockbuster six man tag for the main event where we will see The Undertaker, AJ Styles and Kurt Angle take on WWE Champion Rob Van Dam, Christian and Brock Lesnar. What will happen in the main event? Which team will walk out with an advantage at the end of the night? Tune into Thursday Night Smackdown live on UPN!
Confirmed Matches:
Juventud Guererra verses Billy Kidman verses Paul London
Eddie Guererro/Jackie Gayda verses Rene Dupree/Torrie Wilson
Rob Van Dam/Christian/Brock Lesnar verses AJ Styles/Undertaker/Kurt Angle
Note: TNA Impact is STILL one hour long. I have not changed that yet, but plan to in the future! Below is the preview for iMPACT!
Lance Hoyt and Jimmy Rave vs Motor City Machine Guns These two talented teams will face off in is what to be a very good tag team match on impact. It is rumored that the winner of this match will go to Bound for Glory to face the TNA World Tag Team Champions Team Pacman, Pacman Jones and Ron Killings. What will happen in this match which will produce a great Tag Team Match?
Main Event
Abyss vs Kurt Angle Abyss vs Kurt Angle. No you are not dreaming. At Impact, this Main Event is going to be off the walls. No doubt about it. The TNA World champion will face off against a man that wants to be TNA World Champion. What if Abyss wins? Will he be in line for a shot at the championship? Will Kurt Angle prove once again why he is TNA World champion? Abyss wants to beat somebody up for what Black Reign did to him last week. Will it be Kurt Angle?

Batista vs. Orton

MVP vs. Jeff Hardy
Cade and Murdoch vs. CM Punk and Tommy Dreamer
The most interactive pay-per-view in the history of professional wrestling returns this Sunday night as the superstars of Raw and Smackdown anxiously await the outcome of your votes to decide their fate for this revolutionary show.
WWE Championship
Randy Orton (c) vs CM Punk, John Morrison or Triple H
Without a doubt, this is the biggest decision that you have been asked to make as the superstar you vote for will get a shot at a shot at Randy Orton and his WWE Championship. The three choices that you had were two former ECW Champions, CM Punk and John Morrison in addition to the eleven times World Champion, Triple H.
CM Punk was the first superstar to be chosen as a candidate as he made his Raw debut and was forced to give up the ECW Championship there and then. Mr. McMahon agreed that Punk deserved a title shot having relinquished the ECW title and was followed by John Morrison since he never got his rematch for the title he lost to Punk on ECW. The most interesting choice went to Triple H after months of showdowns with Mr. McMahon, the King of Kings decided to take matters into his own hands, physically threatening the Chairman of the Board to give him his rematch after losing to Orton at No Mercy.
McMahon had no choice but to give The Game what he wanted, but since then it’s all been about what McMahon has wanted. The Game has been put in handicap matches for the last three weeks, but last Monday night took an even sinister turn as McMahon placed him in a handicap gauntlet match. After overcoming The Highlanders and the debuting Deuce ‘N’ Domino, out came Randy Orton & John Morrison who became the third and final victims of the determined challenger, to McMahon’s obvious disappointment as Morrison got himself and Orton disqualified. After the match, the double team continued until CM Punk ran down to the aid of The Game after being told to go home by William Regal following McMahon’s instructions.
Punk took the beating to Morrison but was felled by an RKO from The Legend Killer who then fell foul of a pedigree from Triple H, again frustrating Mr. McMahon. Only one question remains, who did you vote in to get a shot at the gold this Sunday night?
World Heavyweight Championship
Batista (c) vs Umaga
Stephanie McMahon may have made a huge contribution in the possible end to Batista’s title reign as World Heavyweight Champion. Making herself the first guest General Manager of Smackdown over two weeks ago, she reluctantly made a decision to allow Edge act as her replacement the week later. Edge was never going to be impartial on his return and went straight after Batista. He made a huge main event as Batista went head to head with The Undertaker in a Wrestlemania rematch, but before the match came to a close, he introduced his big surprise for Batista, and what a surprise it was, The Samoan Bulldozer from behind, took apart the World Champion.
The GM for the night then announced that at Cyber Sunday, it would be Batista one on one with Umaga in a non title match where he would act as Special Guest Referee. However, seeing it as an abuse of power, the Board of Directors modified the match Edge made by making it a title match and adding two other stipulations that the fans would then have a say on, adding it to the possibility of Edge becoming the special referee. This past week, Umaga made his Smackdown debut and defeated Rey Mysterio before Batista made his way down to the ring and showed Umaga just what it would take to beat the World Champion this Sunday. With Edge looking on, Batista certainly showed him that he is not going to lie down and die.
WWE United States Championship
Matt Hardy vs Montel Vontavious Porter (c)
In what has been one hell of a ride, these two former WWE Tag Team Champions and bitter enemies will finally square off one on one for MVP’s United States Championship. For months, MVP has dodged the bullet of defending his title against Matt Hardy by suggesting such challenges as arm wrestling matches and even a one on one basketball match. With MVP coming out short for the most part, it was probably a wise decision and then the unexpected came. The duo were put together for a shot at the Tag Team titles, and with Matt doing all the work, they became the WWE Tag Team Champions.
That didn’t stop the tension and hatred between them as they continued to argue and tried get one up on each other. It all came to a head nearly two weeks ago as one of their public rows was interrupted by one of Smackdown’s newest teams, Matt Striker & Big Daddy V. Taking advantage of the earlier argument, Striker & Big V were able to defeat the champions in a non title match, but mainly due to MVP’s reluctance to get in V’s way. With Matt having hurt his ribs in the match, MVP angered him even more later on with another argument, something which would cost them a week later as they were put into a gauntlet match where they lost the titles. It didn’t take long as the long awaited title match was made for this Sunday night and maybe it will end this rivalry for good.
Intercontinental Championship
Jeff Hardy (c) vs Mr. Kennedy
To say both these superstars have been on a role reversal is an understatement. Jeff Hardy has been on fire ever since reclaiming the Intercontinental Championship and the man who was described as the fastest growing superstar on Smackdown has struggled to recapture the results he had on Friday nights since joining Raw in the draft lottery. This resulted in Jeff gaining a couple of victories over the loudmouth from Green Bay, something that irritated Kennedy. However, three weeks ago on Raw, he managed to return the favour and gained a pinfall victory in a non title match against Jeff and then asked Raw GM William Regal for a title match against the Rainbow Haired Warrior.
Regal agreed and said that it would take place at Cyber Sunday, then a week later telling him the stipulations put in place. Jeff is the King of the ladder match and would relish the chance to bring out his favourite weapon, but as Kennedy reminded us this week on Raw, he won the Money in the Bank at Wrestlemania, a match that Jeff was in too. With Kennedy having won a First Blood match against The Undertaker in the last year too, will Jeff be able to carry on climbing up Raw’s ladder, or will Kennedy finally bring his “A Game” to Raw?
Rey Mysterio vs Finlay
In what could be one of the most physically intense battles on Sunday night, Rey Mysterio will be out for revenge against Finlay after the despicable attack suffered at the hands of the fighting Irishman at No Mercy. Not many will be able to forget the images of Finlay feigning an injury and being put on to a stretcher before attacking Rey in such a brutal fashion. With Finlay showing absolutely no remorse, Rey set about revenge and cost Finlay a match against Jimmy Wang Yang on Smackdown just over two weeks ago, distracting him for enough time Yang to get the shock victory.
A week later, an angry Finlay told Rey face to face that he was going to make Rey pay for what he did the week before and said that this time, at Cyber Sunday he will make sure Rey isn’t able to walk and will get the job done. Rey didn’t seem to be intimidated and told Finlay that he was coming for payback, but Finlay then said that it would be Rey leaving on stretcher this time. And this past week, Rey put up an incredible effort against Umaga on Smackdown until Finlay interfered and cost Rey what would have been a huge victory. There will be a stretcher waiting regardless of what match is chosen, but who will walk out the winner?
World Tag Team Championship
Tommy Dreamer & Stevie Richards vs Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch (c)
Who would have thought that ECW coming to an end would have benefited Tommy Dreamer & Stevie Richards the way has it, getting a shot at the World Tag Team titles this Sunday. It has to be said, they’ve worked hard for it and they got their chance by defeating the champions two straight weeks and followed up with a third this week on Raw when they met for the first time two on two. On their Raw debut three weeks ago, the veteran, Dreamer defeated Cade in an eight man tag match and repeated the victory a week later in a singles match against Cade. It seems that The Extremists have the upper hand over The Redneck Wrecking Crew, but only time will tell.
WWE Womens Championship
Mickie James vs Beth Phoenix (c)
The Glamazon has looked almost unstoppable since returning to the Raw roster and then winning the Womens Championship from Candice Michelle, and this Sunday she faces a tough challenge from a former champion, Mickie James. Since winning an over the top battle royal to win the opportunity to get this title shot, Mickie has looked impressive, defeating Victoria two weeks ago on Raw despite Beth Phoenix’s interference causing the disqualification. And this past week, Mickie pinned the champion during a six person inter-gender tag team match when Mr. Kennedy inadvertently turned round and knocked Phoenix over with Mickie then following up with an Implant DDT for the win. Can Mickie pick up another win and the title this Sunday, or will The Glamazon continue her wrecking streak?
