WWE RAW Preview for January 23, 2005

Just six days away from the Royal Rumble, RAW comes to you live from JR's hometown of Oklahoma City.

Last week, RAW closed with Randy Orton walking out of Toronto unharmed, after defeating Christian in the main event despite efforts from the challenger to Orton's World Title, Edge. This week, Edge and Orton will be standing across the ring from one another in a six man tag team match. Orton will team up with Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin as well as Shawn Michaels to take on Edge, Christian and the man who will be facing Benjamin at the Royal Rumble, Chris Jericho!! A lot of egos will be in this match, and being that Christian and Edge have not teamed in almost four years, will they coexist? Tune into RAW to find out.

Also last week, Batista abruptly left Evolution, tired of Ric Flair and Triple H's actions. This week, Batista will face none other than 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair in one on one action. Is 'The Animal' steaming up momentum to the Rumble, or has Batista not left Evolution, and is just doing this as a smokescreen to fool everyone? The world will be watching to see what happens.

Last week, Kane was brutally assaulted not once, but twice by the newly formed alliance of Chavo Guerrero and Ken Kennedy. The two devised a plan to lure Kane backstage early in the night, where they attacked him hoping to keep him out of the main event match. Later that night, Kennedy and Chavo rolled Guerrero’s opponent Tommy Dreamer down to the ring on a stretcher, battered and bloody. The referee was forced to ring the bell and with a mocking frogsplash, Chavo picked up the win and is now the ECW Championship’s number one contender. After the main event, Kane came out in an attempt to get revenge, however, Kennedy and Chavo had a backup plan. The two took control of Kane, and nearly took him out. The ECW General Manager interrupted, and made a handicap match— Kane vs. Chavo & Kennedy! Will Kane finally get his revenge tonight? Or will the numbers game prove to be too much for the Big Red Machine?

ALSO:

**The Hardy Boyz will be in tag action against the Miz & Morrison for the tag titles.

**The new Cruiserweight Champion The Hurricane will take on Cody Rhodes in a non-title contest.

**Shannon Moore will represent Smackdown in another “Battle of the Brands” match.

BackStory = This BTB takes place after The Great american bash and weeks before summerslam. McMahon is pissed off when he finds out his daughter is pregnant AGAIN and he goes on a streak of rage and at the Great american bash he defeated his son in a NO DQ match thanks to Shane when he ''accidently'' hit HHH with it instead of Vince. McMahon says his celebration he will create a huge and powerful new ''Era''
