TNA was just hot off its heels from a horrible PPV, Hard Justice, which drew horrible buy rates. TNA had long been in a slump and none of its employees knew what to do. So finally, after hours of deliberation, TNA sent out one final announcement. They were closing their doors. After about five years of existence, TNA was finally gone. The last mainstream alternative to the WWE had finally closed.
Or so it was thought. However, off the demise of TNA came a idea. Two former TNA employees, Jeremy Borash and Jim Cornette came together to brainstorm ideas on forming a new promotion. They contacted Paul Heyman to join them and together, the three set in motion a plan that would change the face of professional wrestling. The three men decided to form a new promotion called Cutting Edge Wrestling. It would be new, it would be innovative, and it would be mainstream and easily accessible to casual wrestling fans. With Borash and Cornette working on signing former TNA talent and Paul Heyman talking to some of his old friends to join him, they had a solid roster. They also contacted some indy stars, both well known and obscure to join in their endeavor. They managed to negotiate a TV Deal with ESPN for Tuesday Night, a direct challenge to WWECW. They had everything going for them, but they still felt a piece was missing from the puzzle. They needed somebody else. They needed a name that people would recognize. They needed a icon. And boy, did they get it.
As if destiny was playing games with them, it turned out that the demise of TNA coincided with the release of Ric Flair. Flair was known as one of the icons of wrestling and many say he is the greatest wrestler of all time. A day after he was released he was contacted by Heyman with a proposition. They wanted him to be a part of their new promotion. Without hesitation he accepted. With Ric Flair, and the addition of CM Punk who was also released due to backstage problems, they were all ready.
And so they were all set to make some waves in the wrestling industry, with Paul Heyman serving as the on-screen General Manager, Jeremy Borash and Jim Cornette working backstage, and Ric Flair being a wrestler and locker room leader. They were ready to take the wrestling industry to the cutting edge.
Last week Randy Orton made a statement to the world by knocking out John Cena, with the help of his dad Bob Orton. Cena will clearly want revenge tonight but Coachman is reluctant to have him fight Orton so close to the main event at Summerslam but something’s gotta give on RAW and I don’t think Coach can hold these 2 big for much longer but Orton has his mind on other things recently, namely Triple H.
DX are in town and they are continuing their personal crusade against Mr. McMahon and his cronies. As many know DX are splitting up at Saturday Night’s Main Event so HHH and HBK will want to get in as many pranks as possible on the chairman but Vince McMahon hasn’t been taking things so light heartedly recently, what with the formation of the ‘Flair Five’ quite possibly the greatest team ever assembled in WWE history, Vince has every reason to be unhappy. He may be willing to take it out on superstars left right and centre this Monday night.
Amongst the people who have felt the wrath of Vince McMahon, former enemies Carlito and Ric Flair have felt the full brunt of it and mystery still surrounds what happened to Carlito last week after having his head smashed in to a car window but none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin has managed to ‘borrow’ CCTV from the arena and he promises to show it live tonight. Jeff Hardy replaces Carlito in tag team action this week with Ric Flair after he found a new lease on life after his brother was forced out of RAW by Vince McMahon. Hardy vows revenge but Vince has put the unorthodox pairing up against Santino and ‘Anyone the Italian can pick up from the slums of Phoenix’ Who does Santino have in store for the two?
Rey Mysterio made the rematch last week; Santino accepted but something about Mysterio has certainly changed since he was shocked at Vengeance by Santino who managed to keep his title. Mysterio is unstable and Santino needs to get the hell out of Arizona as Mysterio continues on with the Road to Summerslam.
Last night at the Great American Bash, the World’s Greatest Tag Team very nearly cost Deuce and Domino their tag titles. The World’s Greatest Tag Team have somehow convinced Coach to sanction Cade and Murdoch against the WWE tag team Champions Deuce and Domino for their titles in what should be an enthralling contest.
Also… 4 of the top women’s contenders, Beth Phoenix, Trish, Melina and Mickie James. The latter 2 face off to go through to the final of the women’s tournament. Trish vs. Beth is in 2 weeks.
Catch all of this and more at 8/7 Central and on the USA Network.
The Latest edition of Lockdown is up. The Main event is Edge vs Rey Mysterio for the World Title. Also John Cena will face Shawn Michaels in the finals of the journey to the championship tournament.
People who review will either get rep, A review back, or both!!!
When Friday night rolls around, WrestleMania 23 will be only NINE DAYS away. And much like the grandest stage of them all, Friday Night SmackDown! will be loaded to the gills. In possible retaliation to the double main-event of this past Monday Night Raw, SmackDown! GM Stephanie McMahon has signed two main-events for SmackDown! as well.
Last week, in order to help "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, the World Heavyweight Champion Batista effectively screwed Chris Sabin out out of a Money in the Bank opportunity. This week on SmackDown!, The Animal teams up with Naitch to take on Chris Sabin ... and the 2007 Royal Rumble Winner Ken Kennedy. Will Mr. Kennedy be able to silence the critics so close to WrestleMania 23? Or will Batista show the cocky superstar why he's considered the most dominant World Heavyweight Champion of all-time?
Main-event number two is BIG in more ways than one ... and explosive. SmackDown!'s monsters, "The Big Red Machine" Kane and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry team up to take on ... "The Game" Triple H ... and his WrestleMania 23 opponent, "The People's Champion" The Rock! After the decade of verbal assaults, sneak attacks, bloody wars, and 19 World Champions, will The Rock and Triple H be able to coexist against two monsters? Or will Kane and The Silverback show the dominance they plan to display against Raw at WrestleMania?
Both champion and challenger in the Cruiserweight Championship Match at WrestleMania 23 will be in action on SmackDown!. Rey Mysterio will take on one of his most frequent rivals Matt Hardy; Cruiserweight Champion, "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels wrestles Jeff Hardy. Will Daniels and Mysterio continue to roll heading into WrestleMania? Or will each Hardy pick up some momentum heading into the Money in the Bank Ladder Match?
Also, the WWE Tag Team Titles will be on the line. Champions, The Hooligans Paul London and Brian Kendrick take on Shelton Benjamin and Gregory Helms in what should be one of the best matches of the new year. Will Benjamin and Helms regain their tag titles? Or will the run of The Hooligans continue to move forward at their trademark lightning pace?
Ohhhh, I finally understand this thing now, Mac. In that case, I'll follow suit

WWE Friday Night SmackDown! Preview February 17th, 2006
This week Friday Night SmackDown! comes to you from Norfolk, Viginia a mere seventy-two hours away from SmackDown's first huge PPV of the year: No Way Out.
And what a Main Event General Manager has confirmed for this Friday. On wwe.com, Long announced that it would be the men that assaulted the team of Paul London and Brian Kendrick last week, the WWE Tag Team Champions MNM, facing off against not only the legendary Undertaker, but also the "Phenom's" No Way Out opponent, the World Heavyweight Champion Batista! For the last few months we have witnessed the rivalry between Batista and The Undertaker grow, and in just two nights it comes to a head, but will they be able to co-exist, or will they simply want to tear one another apart? MNM are perhaps the perfect team to capitalise on this dysfunctional tandom, but will they be too pre-occupied with their No Way Out challengers in London and Kendrick?
Last week, having finally had enough of the months and months of war between John 'Bradshaw' Layfield and Matt Hardy, Teddy Long gave the fans what they wanted and made a decisive match between the two for No Way Out. Hardy has been defending the honour of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair ever since JBL put the sixteen-time World Champion out of action at the Royal Rumble, and last week interrupted Bradshaw's so-called 'Nature Boy Dedication Ceremony.' Will we see another confrontation between the two tonight, or will JBL continue on his jealous rampage against Ric Flair and all those who respect him?
Maybe the most hated man on the SmackDown! roster right now, Randy Orton last week told the world that he would not wrestle on Friday nights until Teddy Long gave into his demands and gave him another shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Long has until No Way Out to give his answer, ot Orton has promised to take his ball and go to Monday Night Raw. Will the "Legend Killer" get what he wants, ot will Teddy Long show some more of that fighting spirit we have all come to respect?
The combustible Bobby Lashley will be in attendance also in Norfolk, still showing a new side to his personality, ever since his confrontation with The Undertaker at the Royal Rumble. Two men have made it their business to get in Lashley's way since them: one of them, the Fighting Irishman Finlay will face Lashley at No Way Out in what should be the most physical contest of the evening; the other, the returning Paul Heyman, has been dropping hints and persuing Lashley over the past few weeks. Will we discover his agenda tonight?
Rey Mysterio will also be in action, as he gets in some preparation ahead of his huge tag team match at No Way Out. It will be the team of Mr. Kennedy and the United States Champion taking on Rey Mysterio and an as of yet unannounced partner. Mysterio has had his problems with both Kennedy and Booker for weeks now, but does he still have an ace up his sleeve?
Last week, Cruiserweight Champion Kid Kash issued an Open Challenge for No Way Out to all cruiserweights, and tonight we will get a look at some of his competition, as Teddy Long has promised us a cruiserweight showcase tag team match up.
Also, watch out for the team of William Regal and Paul Burchill, as they look to get one over on their rivals, the Mexicools. They will all be in attendance in Virginia. Friday Night SmackDown! at 8/7 central on Friday night. Don't miss it; it's going to be a SmackDown! to remember...
I don't want to advertise my own BTB, although the link I am providing technically will. However, I want this to be read so it can be done and out of the way.

It's coming back people, my greatest thread, and the most fun I have had ever in btb; WWE: The attitude Returns!
This is the thread that captivates my own thoughts as head WWE Booker. Since the beggining of the thread many changes have been made to the brand that is often caled the greatest. For one there are now three brands, Monday Night Raw, Thursday Night Smackdown and the newly aquited Saturday's Main Event now managed by the legendary Mick Foley.
The last show that i did before this thread ended was Raw night of the draft where Raw, Smackdown and Saturday's Main Event recieved superstars. The list of superstars that went up still have more to be added and once this thread begins each brand will have some tremendous superstars to show off each week.
Each PPV will be every five weeks apart and will have matches from each brand. Raw will have some, Smackdown will have some and Saturday's Main Event will have some.
So with that being said, on the 1st of Deceomber, sit back and relax as WWE: The Attitude Returns comes back for another stab!
December 1st - Miss it, miss out!

VINCE SCREWS THE GAME AGAIN – WHO WILL FACE ORTON?
Mr. McMahon’s obsession with Triple H possibly went too far last week when he put The Game into a 3 on 2 Handicap match and then removed CM Punk from the match as Triple H’s partner, making it a 3 on 1 match. Against the odds, The King of Kings put in an amazing display and was just short of a victory when the WWE Champion Randy Orton caught him with an RKO to delight the Chairman of the Board.
With Cyber Sunday just six days away, Triple H, CM Punk and John Morrison will be doing their best to get your votes to face Orton for the WWE Championship. Just who will do the most to get your votes when Raw comes to Omaha this week?
KENNEDY GETS THE OPTIONS
After beating Jeff Hardy in a non title match two weeks ago, Mr. Kennedy was given the green light to get a shot at the high flier’s Intercontinental Championship this Sunday night at Cyber Sunday. Last week, Kennedy was desperate to find out what matches the fans were going to be choosing from, and the Raw General Manager William Regal told him exactly what he could be going into this Sunday night. You have the option of choosing between a No Disqualification match, Ladder match and a First Blood match.
Just what will you be voting for when Mr. Kennedy meets The Rainbow Haired Warrior?
GETTING PERSONAL BETWEEN THE SECOND GENERATION STARS
Two weeks ago on Raw, Cody Rhodes caused an upset when he defeated Carlito in singles action. The cocky superstar from the Caribbean didn’t take it too well and reacted by attacking Cody after the match and last week invited him to The Cabana. With some strong comments made from both sides, the duo ended up brawling their way to the back before they met in the ring later on. This time Carlito picked up the win in a tag team match, holding on to Cody’s trunks to get one over on the young superstar.
The duo will meet again this week, this time in a mixed six person tag team match. Who will get the upper hand this week?
DREAMER CAUSES ANOTHER UPSET OVER THE CHAMPS
Making their Raw return a couple of weeks back, former ECW superstars Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards caused one big stir when they beat the World Tag Team Champions in an eight man tag team match, and last week it got better for them as Dreamer was victorious over Lance Cade in singles action. The two teams will meet this Monday night on Raw in a sneak peak of what we will see when the they meet at Cyber Sunday in whatever match you decide to put them it.
MICKIE GETS BEATEN DOWN
Nobody expected Mickie James to get an easy ride last week when she went one on one with Victoria and had her Cyber Sunday opponent, Beth Phoenix at ringside. Mickie gave it her all and looked to be coming out on top of a back and forth match with Victoria when the Womens Champion decided to get involved and gave the challenger a DQ victory.
The divas meet in a six person tag match this Monday night and Mickie will be looking for revenge on the Glamazon. Can she get it?
ANOTHER BULLDOG ON THE WAY!
In a shock to us all, we found out last week that the late British Bulldog’s son, Harry will be coming to Raw very soon. The young man has a lot to live up to and it’s only matter of time before we find out if he’s up to the task.
BURKE GETS DEBUT VICTORY
Elijah Burke has never been short of confidence and after making his presence felt on Raw two weeks ago by insulting Val Venis & Hacksaw Jim Duggan, last week he was put to the test and pulled out a victory over Duggan. This week Burke will be going one on one with Val Venis in what could be a very close match up.
PLUS
Last Friday night on Smackdown, we saw the first superstars to take advantage of the Open House rules when Umaga jumped from Raw and The Worlds Greatest Tag Team shocked everyone by entering the Invitational Gauntlet Match to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. With Raw losing 3 superstars in one night, will any Smackdown stars join the stars of Monday night this week?
We will also get an update on the injury sustained by John Cena.
CONFIRMED FOR RAW THIS WEEK
Jeff Hardy, Cody Rhodes & Mickie James vs Mr. Kennedy, Carlito & Beth Phoenix
NON TITLE MATCH
Tommy Dreamer & Stevie Richards vs Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
