Vince McMahon has announced that for the first and last time, WWE will have a single World Champion. At Wrestlemania will be a three way match for the Unified World Championship. The first contender will be John Cena, the winner of the 2008 Royal Rumble. The other two competitors will be the defending champions from their respective shows. Currently, the champions remain Randy Orton, the WWE Champion and Edge, the World Heavyweight Champion.
However, these are times of change and nobody honestly knows who will be champion by Wrestlemania. In fact, Edge will be defending his title against Rey Mysterio and Edge’s new “family”, Chavo Guerrero; While Randy Orton will be defending his title against five other men in an Elimination Chamber. Those competitors include the best wrestlers from each show including The Undertaker, HHH, Batista, Kane, and Shawn Michaels.
The current lineup for No Mercy is as follows…
WWE Champion Randy Orton Defending his title against the Undertaker, HHH, Batista, Kane, and Shawn Michaels in an Elimination Chamber.
World Heavyweight Champion Edge Defending his title against Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero. The winner of this match claims both the World Heavyweight Title and the ECW Championship.
United States Champion MVP Defending his title against CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin and Jeff Hardy to Unify the US Title and the Intercontinental Championship.
Cruiserweight Invitational To Determine The Cruiserweight Champion.
Tag Team Battle Royal for the Unified Tag Team Championships.
Last week on RAW, the WWE was shook up by another draft. This week on RAW, the new faces will be showcased.
World Champion Chris Benoit is scheduled to open the show this week. This will be Benoit's first true time out in front of the fans after his triumphant victory at WrestleMania XX where he won the World Heavyweight Championship. Will we see any new faces on RAW during this part of the show? We'll have to find out.
Also this week on RAW, the high flying Rey Mysterio will make his first ever appearance on Monday Night RAW, as he is scheduled to face Spike Dudley. Mysterio is quite the fan favorite, and should be welcomed well in his match tonight. Tune in to RAW to see how Mysterio fares.
And, "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton issued a statement earlier today saying he has an announcement that will have our fans talking for a very long time. What does the Intercontinental Champion have to say? You'll have to find out on RAW.
All of this and plenty more this week on RAW!!!

THE ANIMAL KEEPS THE GOLD With the odds against Batista keeping his World Heavyweight Championship this past Sunday, somehow The Animal managed to overcome those odds, defeating Edge and Umaga in a monstrous triple threat match to retain his prize possession. He even managed to walk out victorious despite a blindside attack from Edge’s followers, The Miz and John Morrison. After being told by William Regal that if the duo got involved, he would be disqualified, Edge set about a plan and enlisted the help of the WWE Champion, Randy Orton to distract Batista, giving Miz and Morrison the opportunity they needed. And in a match that could have gone any way, it was Batista who caught Edge with the Batista Bomb to leave New Jersey as still the World Champion. What will the consequences be for all those involved this coming Friday night?
MICHAELS RETURNS DEFEATED After an astonishing return a month ago, Shawn Michaels vowed to payback The Legend Killer for putting him on the shelf by defeating Team Orton at the Survivor Series. However, this was not to be as the WWE Champion put on a legendary display to overcome three of Team HBK all by himself. It all came down to The Heartbreak Kid and his arch rival, but it was the youngster who prevailed, leaving Michaels with a lot to ponder. With Orton and Raw behind him, what does the future hold for HBK?
DYKSTRA TAKES THE PRIZE! The Cruiserweight Championship belt has a new owner after a blockbuster of a match this past weekend at the Survivor Series. A new champion was guaranteed following the title being declared vacant several months ago, and eight superstars gave it their all in a traditional elimination match to get their hands on the belt. Luckily for Kenny Dykstra, he was the one who outlasted seven others, beating Matt Sydal in controversial circumstances, using the ropes to help him get the winning pinfall. Not being known as one to keep his mouth shut, there’s sure to be some kind of response from the new Cruiserweight Champion in Syracuse this week.
U.K. PACK COME UNSTUCK Ever since debuting over a month ago, Paul Burchill, Drew McIntyre and Harry Smith have got the upper hand on The World’s Greatest Tag Team and Chris Masters, and were given the biggest opportunity of their careers to finish the job Sunday night when all six men met head on. However, it was the experience that prevailed as some typical dirty tactics helped the tag team champions and Masters pick up a long overdue victory. But just five days later and the chance for retribution awaits Burchill and Smith as they will go head to head with Shelton and Charlie in a non title match. How long will the champions comeback last?
TAKER PUTS THORN TO BED? Kevin Thorn has made in an impression on The Undertaker since he debuted on Smackdown over a moth ago, but last week he found himself amongst the dead man’s victims. After some looks from The Undertaker that seemed to acknowledge some kind of respect following matches between them and even going so far as to stop his brother Kane from attacking Thorn, it seems that these strange actions have been put firmly behind them, even after Thorn put Kane on the shelf several weeks ago. We’ll have to wait and see if this is the case this Friday night in New York.

After No Way Out, the main event for Wrestlemania seemed to be a three way match between Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker, and John Cena. However, both Randy Orton and Edge pulled out their contracts with the “Rematch Clause” and demanded their rematch at Wrestlemania.
Vince McMahon decided that he would add the last remaining superstar from the Elimination Chamber to the match and would make a huge match for Wrestlemania.
His decision was that Rey Mysterio and The Undertaker would have to defend their titles against John Cena, Edge, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels in a 6-man Hell in the Cell. The first man to score a pin or submission will be declared the last WWE Unified World Champion.
Also planned for Wrestlemania, the other champions will defend their titles one last time.
Gregory Helms will defend his Cruiserweight Championship against five other men in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. The first man to reach the belt suspended above the ring will be declared the final WWE Cruiserweight Champion. The men that will challenge for the belt are Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Jimmy Wang Yang, Chavo Guerrero, and Jamie Noble.
Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas will be defending their titles against both pairs of the former tag team champions. The Miz and John Morrison and Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly will be included in this match. The match will be fought under hardcore tag rules.
Jeff Hardy will have to defend his Unified United Intercontinental Championship against the former champion, MVP, in a match demanded by MVP himself, an I Quit Match.
At the end of the show, Vince promises to address the fans one last time before they go off the air for the last time.
Off Air Note
I have not decided yet if I want to write out full results for Wrestlemania or if I should just do recaps so IO can actually start my Fed sooner. I kind of want to write them out since it is Wrestlemania. Opinions are appreciated.
Triple H crawls towards his corner while MVP makes a quick tag to Edge. Triple H then makes the hot tag to HBK!!! Edge backs away as HBK dives into the ring ready for a fight, telling Edge to bring it! However, before HBK even has a chance to square off with Edge, he finds himself receiving a swift kick to the gut from Triple H and then gets planted with the Pedigree!!! The crowd is left stunned as Triple H stands looking over his DX partner who is lying motionless on the canvas. Even the New Wave have a look of shock on their faces. Triple H rolls to the outside with a disgusted look on his face as Edge then sneakily runs over and covers HBK for a cheap and easy three count, while Triple H just stands and watches from the outside.

Somewhere in the darkest recesses of the mind of a man at the end of his rope is that place that keeps him going. A corner of his imagination enlightened by the thought of justification. It drives your dreams, but more importantly your hopes. It is your desire for justice. It is your final stance at a wicked wicked world. It is the retribution for those lost to the fight. It is the justice served up cold to the evil of the world. It is your payback for all of the lines that were crossed. Because of it, you can do the unimaginable. You can overcome obstacles that are seemingly impossible to surpass. It waits for you to call upon it and make the world right again. And when it emerges, it will punish the wicked. Are you good because you possess it, or evil because you don't use it?
