Loser Leaves WWE Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy Jealously has engulfed Matt Hardy since the turn of the year and after things weren’t settled at Wrestlemania no option remained except for their own safety and sanity one of the Hardy Boyz will leave the WWE at Backlash.
Best-of-7 Series Match 1 Chris Jericho vs. 'Bulldog' DH Smith w/ Ric Flair After months of disrespecting WWE legends, Ric Flair promised to find the man to teach Jericho to show some respect. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin? The Rock? Hulk Hogan? No, that man was son of The British Bulldog and member of the Hart family, DH Smith. Smith pulled off an upset on Raw leading Commissioner Eric Bischoff to announce a Best-of-7 series. Whilst match one will not decide the outcome it could prove a great advantage. Can cause another upset and what does ‘The Nature Boy’ have up his sleeve?

News from the Online World of Wrestling
The WWS fears the safety of its short, limited roster, following the backstage mood after Summerslam. “A lot of wrestlers were feeling the effects of the stipulations we put them in,” said Chairman Gene Okerlund. It is for this reason that the WWS has decided that Barely Legal will not feature matches with stipulations.
The world wrestling grand prix tournament has been canceled due to budgeting problems and scheduling conflicts.
The WWS is currently in negotiations with NBC Universal to produce a one-hour show on Saturday nights to showcase young, new talent from its developmental territory, FCW. More details will be released as the story progresses.
Due to negative fan feedback, Mike Adamle and Taz have been released from their contracts. It is believed that Adamle was also fired for breaking kayfabe back in week 3 while introducing Eric Bischoff (babyfaces beware). The WWS signed on Al Snow to replace them.
After months of serving under Triple H, Batista left Evolution, while Triple H was on the receiving end of a Batista Bomb through a table a few short months ago. It all cultimated when Batista defeated his former mentor, Triple H to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in last night's main event. What will Batista have to say about his title win? And how will Triple H retaliate, knowing that he is not the World Heavyweight Champion anymore.
A Title Defense?
William Regal & Tajiri have agreed to put their World Tag Team Championship this Monday against the former tag team champions, La Resistance! However, as reported on WWE.com, Rob Conway was released following WrestleMania. Sylvain made the call to Rene Dupree, his former tag team partner, so that they can reunite once again. Dupree went up to Theodore Long and requested a transfer to RAW. Long accepted his demand and the original La Resistance is back on RAW. We will see if La Resistance has what it takes to reclaim the World Tag Team Championship this Monday
Christian's Frustration
Also last night at WrestleMania, Christian was a fingertip away from retrieving the Money in the Bank briefcase, but he fell off a ladder and onto his friend, Tomko. He had to look on as Edge won the match instead. Frustrated, Christian went up to Eric Bischoff and demanded him to give him an opponent to unleash his anger on. Bischoff choose The Hurricane as Christian's opponent. Unfortunately for the superhero, he will have to face a man with a mean streak! Can The Hurricane upset the frustrated Christian?
Confirmed Matches
- Christian vs The Hurricane
- World Tag Team Championship: William Regal & Tajiri (c) vs La Resistance

Official Friday Night SmackDown Preview for April 7, 2006
Off the heels of the spectacular WrestleMania 22, where dreams became true and legends were made, the television show that is changing Friday nights makes its way to Peoria, Illinois in the shadows of ‘The Windy City’ Chicago, where the megaevent took place this past Sunday. The lights will be on bright, and all of the superstars of ‘the blue brand’ will be in attendance, so expect the unexpected because anything can happen in the WWE.
The epic and anticipated Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship ended miraculously as Rey Mysterio proved that he was fully able to take the challenge of ‘The Wrestling Machine’ and now former World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle as well as ‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton. Mysterio’s Championship victory will be a moment that will be remembered for years to come and all three of these men will be inside the ring for a main event that is star-studded and should prove to be one of the biggest in SmackDown history. Mysterio, alongside Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit and The Undertaker will take on the team of Randy Orton, the new United States Champion John Bradshaw Layfield, Booker T, and ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ Mark Henry. There’s no telling what will happen when all these titans square off in the same ring together, and the only way to find out is by tuning into SmackDown this Friday night.
Joey Mercury, Johnny Nitro, and Melina; the dangerous trio known as MNM have been making an impact on SmackDown ever since debuting 1 year ago and taking away the WWE Tag Team Championships. Thus far they have proved to be one of the best tag teams in the entire industry, but they have recently expressed disinterest in the fact that they were left off of the WrestleMania card in front of ‘B-list’ tag teams like the ones on Monday Night Raw. Theodore Long has taken their case and has given them the opportunity to justify that claim. MNM will defend their WWE Tag Team Championships against Brian Kendrick and Paul London, better known as The Hooligans. London and Kendrick have proven to be quite an exciting tag team in the mix of tandems on ‘the blue brand’ thus far in their early careers as a duo, and in the mind of Teddy Long have proven their worth enough to earn themselves this shot. Can MNM keep their reign going as the best tag team on the scene, or will they be dethroned by the fresh and high-energy tag team in The Hooligans? You know where to go, and when to find out.
All of this and so much more, including the debut of a new superstar to the SmackDown brand this Friday Night on UPN at 8 PM ET/7 PM CT.
The recent news about a WCW Tag Team coming into the WWF, is confirmed, and the two legendary superstars the team from WCW will leave WCW for the first time in their careers and will be in the building here tonight. They are not scheduled for action but what sort of impact will they play on the tag team division here in the WWF? Only time will tell.
WWE RAW “The best drama on television” VIDEO AIRS.
[BACKSTAGE]
>>> The camera moves through the backstage area, navigating its way through members of the production team and various WWE officials, until it arrives at a large, black, double door. The camera mans hand comes into shot. He pushes the door open and we find ourselves in the underground parking lot.
Cole: I have no idea what’s going on right now.
Lawler: Why the heck are we in the parking lot?
*Sound of a car engine*
*Growing louder*
>>> A long black limo comes into shot and eventually comes to a stop right outside the backstage entrance to the arena.
*Driver door opens*
>>> The driver steps out, dressed in a tailored grey suit with matching cap. He walks to the back of the limo to the passenger door.
Cole: Who could be inside the limo?
King: I bet it’s Shane or Stephanie McMahon. Maybe even Vince!!!
>>> The driver opens the passenger door.
*Long Pause*
>>> Vickie Guerrero steps out with a huge smile on her face.
***BOOS FROM WITHIN THE ARENA***
Cole: I don’t believe it! What the hell is Vickie Guerrero doing here on Raw?
Lawler: We’re live and when you’re live anything can happen Michael!!!
Vickie: (To the driver) You can go now, I’ll call for you later when I need you. I plan on staying a while.
>>> With that Vickie walks towards the backstage entrance door.
*Fade to Black*
THE RAW OPENING CREDITS AIR
[ARENA LIVE]
>>> Pyro explodes in and around the Raw entrance ramp as the lights come up and the Raw theme music begins to filter into the arena. The fans come to their feet, yelling enthusiastically as the camera takes in a shot of the sold out arena. As is the norm, the camera zooms in on several posters being held up by the fans. One poster reads “Steph…. rough wedding night?” whilst another reads “Shane McMahon = player.”
[ANNOUNCE TABLE]
>>> Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole are seated behind the Raw announce table. The crowd begin to quieten down.
Cole: Welcome everybody to Monday night Raw. We thank you for joining us tonight on what has already proven to be a shocking evening! We are live from the Ford Centre in Oklahoma and I ask you Jerry Lawler, why is Vickie Guerrero here tonight?
Lawler: I have absolutely no idea Michael. The last time we saw Vickie Guerrero she was over on Smackdown, where she quit as general manager. I didn’t think I’d ever see Vickie Guerrero back in the WWE and what’s more, I never wanted too.
Cole: I’m sure we’ll find out more as the night progresses. Ladies and gentle coming up momentarily, it will be Batista and Rey Mysterio taking on the team of Mark Henry and Evan Bourne. With No Mercy just six days away, this match could prove to be most important.
Lawler: And how about our main event tonight. The world champion CM Punk goes one on one with the heartbreak kid Shawn Michaels in a non title match up. You talk about important Michael, this match up could make or break the champion just six days from No Mercy.
Cole: Both men have something to prove in that one, no doubt about it. Also tonight for the first time since his horrific accident, John Cena will be appearing on Raw live via satellite from his home in West Newbury Massachusetts.
Lawler: I can’t wait to hear what Cena has to say. Maybe we’ll find out tonight whether or not John Cena will be competing in the world title match at No Mercy this Sunday live on PPV!!!
