Royal Rumble Preview
ECW Championship: Rhyno (c) vs. Kurt Angle
A bitter feud that will culminate at the Royal Rumble. ECW champion Rhyno will defend is gold against Kurt Angle. It is the Wrestling Machine vs. the War Machine. This match started at the last ECW PPV Hardcore Hangover when Rhyno defeated RVD to win the ECW Championship. And 2 weeks ago on ECW TV, Kurt Angle defeated Abyss to become the number 1 contender for Rhyno’s newly won gold. Rhyno gave Kurt an Extreme message when he Gored him onto Thumbtacks a few weeks ago. Last week during the contract singing, Kurt retaliated and Head butted Rhyno and brawling to the back. Will Kurt Angle defeat Rhyno and be the first man to hold the WWE, World Heavyweight, WCW and ECW Champion and end Rhyno’s shortest reign as champion. Or will Rhyno, in his first title defence on PPV, retain his title. All questions will be answered at the Royal Rumble under Extreme Rulez!
World Heavyweight Championship: Batista (c) vs. MVP vs. Ken Kennedy
Batista who has been World Heavyweight Champion since November will be in his second consecutive PPV Title defence that is against two superstars. Last time it was against , Brock Lesnar and Undertaker, to veterans and former world champions. But on Sunday he will be against the top two rising stars in the company. MVP and Kennedy had there goal to become number contender granted this week on SD! When they fought to a draw, GM Theodore Long announced that they would both face Batista for the World Championship. MVP and Kennedy who have formed an alliance against Batista, may go into the match as favorites but, as there can only be one winner, will there alliance last? If it does will Batista by able to overcome the team-up or will he fall to one of the brightest stars in WWE history……
WWE Championship: Shawn Michaels (c) vs. Brock Lesnar
Three weeks ago, Shawn Michaels won an hellacious Elimination Chamber to become a 5 time World Champion! But after only having the title for the three weeks, his latest reign is in jeopardy, because of one man. Brock Lesnar. The former 3 time WWE Champion is the number 1 contender and is made it clear he is out for the Heart Break Kid. This all started when Lesnar interfered in the Elimination Chamber and Powerbombed Shawn onto the steel. But the resilient Michaels, managed to continue and eventually win. Vince and Shane McMahon have been making DX’s life a living hell and by bringing in Lesnar to get the title of Shawn Michaels. They might just be on there way to victory. Will Shawn Michaels keep his WWE title or will Lesnar destroy the dream?
Cruiserweight Championship: Chavo Guerrero (c) vs. Jimmy Yang
A match that has come about through who is the best Cruiserweight in the world. When Jimmy Yang said he was the greatest Cruiserweight in the world, Chavo took offence climbing he was the greatest Cruiserweight and that he has the belt to prove it. Chavo has attacked Yang’s leg and injured it, that it could be argued that it was because of Chavo that Yang lost his Rumble qualifying match. Chavo offered a open challenge to any Cruiserweight on the roster knowing full well that Yang would accept and when he did, Chavo beat down Yang’s leg again. What will happen when they collide on Sunday? Will Chavo continue his reign or will Yang, with only one good leg, be able to pull out a, what seems near, impossible victory. Only time will tell!!
Womens Championship: Trish Stratus (c)vs. Victoria
Trish Stratus, is perhaps the greatest DIVA in the history of the WWE. An acclaimed Womens Champion, will put her newly won gold on the line at the Royal Rumble. Only three weeks into her run and she is up against, one of her old time rivals, Victoria. The mad woman, has been on a superb winning streak over the Womens division on RAW. And this week on RAW she won a Battle Royal to become the official number 1 contender for Trish’s title. What will happen when two of the most experienced DIVA’s go 1-on-1 for the most coveted Womens Title in the world.
Royal Rumble Match where the winner gets to main event Wrestlemania 23, in a World Championship match of there choice!
Perhaps the most anticipated match of the wrestling year. The 30 man over the top rope battle royal, in which the winner goes to main event the grand daddy of ‘em all. Wrestlemania! 10 superstars from RAW, 10 from SD! And for the 1st time 10 extreme superstars from ECW. In this match there is a multitude of competitors. There those who have taste World Championship gold (Triple H, Ric Flair, Kane, Big Show, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Edge, John Cena, King Booker, Rob Van Dam, Undertaker) and there are others who that title has evaded through out there careers, (superstars like, Mark Henry, Finlay, Lance Storm, William Regal & Gregory Helms & Test.) Then there are the former extreme champions who have yet to be able to showcase there abilities on the grandest stage of them all (Sabu, Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman). And then there are the new blood. The up and comers who are wanting to get there break and the Royal Rumble is there chance. (New Blood such as The Hardy’z, CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Abyss, Carlito, Johnny Nitro, Umaga & Lashley). With so many possibilities, this match is guaranteed to be unpredictable. Everyman for themselves and its for the Ultimate Accolade in Sports-Entertainment!!
