With all the summerslam matches announced, lets take a look at some news and notes heading into the huge PPV which will begin the thread on Sunday night.

It has been reported on numerous wrestling websites and forums that the scheduled match between Orlando Jordan and Chris Benoit for the WWE United States Championship will be opening Summerslam this Sunday night. It has also been rumoured that the match will not be lasting a long time. No one knows exactly what is being planned for this match but it wil be sure as hell interesting to find out.

WWE Creative pitched an idea to Mr. McMahon that Eddie Guerrero should shake Rey Mysterio's hand after their ladder match for the custody of Dominick this Sunday at Summerslam. However Vince through the idea right out of the window. Vince told the creative team that Eddie Guerrero as a heel works far better at this moment in time, and the amount of merchandise he is selling, as well as how over he is is the dominant factor. With that bieng said it is clear that Eddie Guerrero will be staying heel after his match with Rey Mysterio on Sunday night. This will surely make their match more entertaining.

At Wrestlemania 21 a few months ago, The Undertaker went over Randy Orton cleanly. No word has been released on this situation, but with that stuck in the back of everyones mind. Can The Legend Killer Randy Orton pull something special out of the bag on Sunday?

Finally, Batista and John Bradshaw Layfield have been in the arena all morning, planning the finish to their No Holds Barred World Heavyweight Championship match. A source close to lordsofpain has stated that the steel ringstairs were indeed being used. Fans will just have to check out Summerslam on Sunday night to see what actually goes down in that match.

Tonight SmackDown cames from The Salt City, Utah and The 'Rated R Superstar' is rumored to have a plan for tonight's Smackdown. Which can only mean one thing: Bad news for The Undertaker. Last week on MVP's V.I.P lounge, Hardy and MVP had a little disagreement, the two rivals had a brawl in the lounge. Hardy got some revenge when he cost Chavo his match against Colin Delaney on ECW but tonight Matt is facing his opponent at Backlash and Chavo Guerrero who will be pissed off at being cheated out of his match. How will Matt survive?

Maryse will be accompanied by Victoria tonight to her match with Michelle McCool. What does Maryse and Victoria have up their sleeves? Victoria hates Michelle and tries to hurt her at every opportunity and Maryse will want a win tonight, what's going to go down when the ladies fight?

At Night of Champions this past Sunday the “Rated R Superstar” and World Heavyweight Champion Edge successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against “The Animal” Batista. This week on SmackDown! Edge is hosting the Cutting Edge with two of SmackDown’s! Newest superstars Triple H and Jeff Hardy. Triple H will almost certainly have words with Edge after Edge pulled the rope away from Triple H at Night of Champions which forced Triple H to tap out. Also, Jeff Hardy will want to show his intent on becoming World Heavyweight Champion. Edge has also promised to update us on his wife Vickie Guerrero’s condition. What will happen on this blockbuster Cutting Edge?

SmackDown! Welcome Mat

This week on SmackDown! “The Samoan Bulldozer” Umaga makes his debut on the blue brand but it won’t be an easy task for him. Umaga, Mr. Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin will all clash in a “SmackDown! Welcome Mat Triple Threat Match!” Who will show they are the best draft pick? Will the Samoan bulldoze through his opponents, can Kennedy Mic Check the others or will Shelton prove he is the Gold Standard?

Scottish Fridays

A typical Friday Night in Glasgow, Scotland sees many people from Glasgow out in pubs drinking into the early hours partying and having fun but two Scottish men, not from Glasgow but from Oban will be spending their Friday Nights wrestling on SmackDown! Santino recently held “Santino’s Casa” over on WWE.com and on the show he mocked the father and son team of Finlay and Hornswoggle. This week on SmackDown! he has been put into a match with Hornswoggle and Hornswoggle’s father Finlay will be sure to watch from ringside. Can Santino beat the man who’s challenging Rey Mysterio for the crown of “Biggest Little Man in WWE?” or can Hornswoggle defeat Santino and humiliate him?

My Name Is Armando Estrada

This week on SmackDown! Armando Estrada makes his debut on Friday Night SmackDown! The draft proved to save Armando as he was losing weekly in an attempt to get an ECW Contract. Estrada will not have it easy as he meets big Festus in the ring, when the bell rings Festus goes under some sort of transformation, can Armando pick up the win anyway or will Festus dominate?

Divas Championship Mystery

The Divas Championship Match originally set up for The Great American Bash has been moved forward to Friday’s SmackDown! and the match was set to allow Michelle McCool and Natalya to lock horns but Natalya was drafted to RAW and many were wondering weather the title was ever going to be won well WWE.com can officially reveal that on SmackDown! it will as Michelle McCool takes on a Mystery Opponent. Who will this mystery opponent be?
