Re: WWE: A Strong Response
Heyman Deciple’s WrestleMania Review
Hager Vs. Kozlov Vs. Reider: Solid match to get the live crowd into it.
Opening Video: Cool video. I liked your choices of clips to highlight the history of WrestleMania and having a celebrity like Whitney Houston sing the National Anthem was great. That was one of the things I always liked about WrestleMania especially the earlier ones. They always had a pretty big name to sing the anthem. Good move.
Matt Hardy Vs. Shelton Benjamin: Awesome Match. All the kick outs and near falls made this feel just amazing.
Matt-Jeff: Nice little segment here with the Hardy brothers.
Beth Vs. Victoria: Good women’s match with 2 of the better female workers in the company right now. The winner was not who I expected. Good win for her.
Evolution-Eric: Good follow-up segment with Triple H & Eric Bischoff. Playing off of what happened on Raw.
Money In The Bank: That was a damn good match and I loved the result and the finish with a certain masked wrestler chasing a certain wrestler who’s half man, half amazing. I can’t wait to see how the winner of the match eventually cashes in his title shot.
Divas Segment: I was almost expecting to see Beth offer some kind of handshake and goodsportswomenship but I’m glad it didn’t come to that. I’m looking forward to the rematch.
MVP-Umaga: Poor MVP he’s cutting his big WrestleMania promo and he gets interrupted by Umaga. Nice promo from Estrada to build up the Last Man Standing match for later.
Cruiserweight Title 4 way: Good Cruiserweight Action. I was rooting for a certain high flying ROH standout but I do like the result. As the person that did win is someone I always thought had great potential and should make for a damn good Cruiserweight Champion.
Hall Of Fame highlights: The Macho Man. Hell yeah.
Orton Interview: This is my favorite segment of the show so far. Orton was really on point here and showed great intensity during this. Now I hope he wins.
Punk Vs. Jeff Hardy: One of the matches I’ve most been looking forward to. This was awesome between the ladder spots the use of the fire extinguisher and the great finish which I didn’t see coming. Great match.
McMahons-Bischoff: I take it back. Now this was my favorite segment of the show. The McMahons were great in trying to manipulate Bischoff, JBL was good in going after his cheap heat, and Vince was gold when he told Shane to Shut Up. Great segment.
Tag Team Title 4 way: Solid match I was expecting a win for the guy from tough enough and the guy from Real World but it was a good win for the team that won.
Undertaker Vs. Umaga: Last Man Standing matches can be either really action packed and exciting or really boring I’m glad to see this fit in the Action packed and exciting category. Good match with the right conclusion in my opinion.
Evolution Vs. McMahons: This match should be good just because Shane McMahon is in it. That Batista-Shane spear spot was great and I liked the finish with that wrestler having you know who in his signature submission manuever and then that non wrestler guy came out and called for the bell. Great finish, which was built up throughout the show.
Cena Vs. Kane Vs. Orton: Great match with an ending I was not expecting. It’s good to see other people getting opportunities at the top of the card.
Edge Vs. Shawn: Main Event Time. I have to admit I wasn’t sure if this match would be able to top some of the earlier matches but it did and the result gave this show a feeling of a true WrestleMania moment.
That was a very good show Nige, I tried not to give too much away during my review. Any way as I said great show and I give this a 9 out of 10.
It's like 1993 all over again... Mainstream pro wrestling in the United States sucks.
WWE sucks. TNA sucks.
Thank god for Japan, Mexico, and the indies... And the Internet making alternative forms of pro wrestling more accessible than ever.
If it wasn't for YouTube and podcasts I don't know where I'd be as a wrestling fan in 2014.
