Hey Nige, sorry I haven't got a full review up for you, I've been really busy recently with college and other things. I'll leave you a few comments though ...

* The opening promo was great, I loved the aggression from both guys, especially from Orton, he needed this promo time to build himself back up again after Cena made such a big impact last week on his return. You haven't had much time to build up this feud heading into the Rumble, but this promo did a good job, hopefully Cena won't take the title becuase I'm loving Orton's title reign.

* Jeff hardy hitting Punk with the Swanton Bomb off the stage was great, a really great way to hype their match at the RR, this is what they did with the Jeff/Orton feud IRL heading into the Rumble too I think. Jeff really needed to get one up on Punk this week as Punk had been in control in recent weeks. I'm really enjoying this feud and the match should be great.

* It was good to see Ron Killings make his debut and beat Orlando Jordan, he seemed very impressive and I liked the finish.

* I like what you're doing with Cody Rhodes. The Kelly Kelly relationship is giving him a lot more character and will help build him up a bit more, and the fued with the Colon brothers is getting more interesting than I thought it would be.

* Nice job with the main event, it was good to see a clean finish too as I've noticed a lot of DQ's and No Contests recently on Raw. I'm loving the McMahon storyline with Triple H and Steph, i don't know what you'll do at the Rumble though to continue the fued, possibly have the McMahons eliminate HHH from the RR or something.

Great job again Nige, looking forward to Smackdown and then the Rumble.

Monday Night RAW Review (WWE: A Strong Response)

S1 (Opening Segment, In the ring, Orton + Cena + Vinnie Mac) = Orton was tight, so was Cena, and McMahon's announcement was grand. This is the first show I read from you and, I like how somehow JBL is McMahon's somewhat illegitimate son?! Great! The match he booked should be a great, and the No DQ aspect means something's bound to go down, great way to open up the show, only minor flaw was that sometimes the promos linger on too much and they sound more like a E-Fed type promo than a BTB type promo, still, as there was nothing wrong with the promos and what they talk about, I guess we could just scratch this last criticism out.

** (Backstage, Maria + Melina + Santino) = Cool little segment, I wasn't sure how to take Maria's reactions, like, is she not a blonde like girl anymore, but still, when Santino came out, everything was cleared up for me and everything was cool. I could easily see Melina & Santino becoming a full-time pairing too.

S3 (Carlito v. Rhodes) = Good little match, question I have is, does Eddie sport the same kind of look as Carlito as it pretains to his hair style? Last picture I saw of Eddie, he had a crew cut of sorts... I like the little pairing with Kelly & Rhodes (please, drop the Kelly Kelly, just call her Kelly for God's sake!), they're both extremely young so, it's like puppy love.

S4 (Backstage, Kennedy/Burke/Layla + Punk) = This segment was okay, I felt it was a bit rushed and I didn't get a good feel for everyone's own distinct personalities. It did serve its purpose, so that's good. I also like Layla & Burke's pairing, could work, I'll have to see more of them though. I especially like CM Punk's heelish ways, though, he didn't sound like the kind of heel i'd portray him as... get your hands on some of his ROH heel stuff, I think that without copying it, it gives you a great idea of just how Punk as a heel can be done. Anyhow, I'm still really looking forward to that 6-Men, should be quite the bout.

S5 (Jillian v. Victoria) = It seems a lot of BTBs have turned Victoria face over the last couple of months. Honestly, I prefer her as a heel, but, she can do both so, that's cool with me. And, since she's getting a soon to be crack at the Women's Belt, I'm even more for that. The matchup was so-so, (Savate, not Savote & A Springboard Somersault Legdrop would actually mean Victoria would bounce from the top rope and then perform the flip in mid-air... I'm sure that, if she tried it, she could do it, but Victoria's pet hold is a Slingshot Somersault Legdrop, just little things that would have made this match better when reading it) but, overall, this match served its purpose and Jillian didn't look half bad... although since this was just an ending, we couldn't really her get in much offense. Hence sometimes I prefer match recaps then just endings, still, to each's own I say. I might have forgotten but is the Women's Title match set to take place at the Rumble? If so, goo-ood.

S6 (Interview, Grisham + JHardy & Sunny) = Everyone was in character, so it helped this segment quite a lot. Grisham was is non-charismatic self (good), Hardy was his straight to the point self (good) and Sunny, well, she was Sunny when things don't go her way as a face (good). Only thing I have a hard time swallowing for lack of a better term is Tammy & Jeff's partnership. As a heel or face, I would believe she'd go with someone that's got more of that Mr. Ass Billy Gunn look. Anyhow, the segment was good and set up the 6 Men quite nicely. Yerr.

S7 (Rumble Preview) = Good stuff, I like how you utilize banners to hype stuff in your shows.

S8 (Backstage, Vinnie Mac + Steph & HHH) = Awesome segment right there. Stephanie was very much in character and the whole interaction between the three of them was priceless for the times we do live in right now. The switch in tonight's match is a good way to go about things, brings me back to a time where anything could be changed at the drop of the dime because the McMahon family ruled over all!

S9 (Marella v. Dreamer - Rumble Qualifier) = Good match, I wouldn't have bought Santino winning cleanly so the heelish tactics worked tremendously for him... question: What does a Rolling Cutter look like?!

S10 (Punk/Kennedy/Burke v. JHardy/Jericho/Rey) = Good match overall, we really only saw Rey & Burke in there going at it, although with the out of control action everybody got a piece of the pie. I didn't fully picture how Layla could grab Rey's foot but he could actually fall into the ring. To me, he would have been dragged and hit his head against the ring apron, but, still, I'm digging the fact the Heels got the win, plus, the aftermath was really cool. Although I don't know why you wouldn't actually sell the fall and try to make us believe Punk actually fell through tables or something... or through a wooden plate. Anyhow, I think everything from the promos earlier were followed correctly storyline wise and that's what matters at the end of the day.

S11 (Backstage, Kelly + Rhodes + Colons + Kingston) = Interesting and well developped angle. I thaught everything was built up nicely, from seeing a such heart felt moment to such a heelish act and then the ''save'' in some ways from Kofi, I'm guessing we're heading towards a tag bout next week between these four, and that... dat's cool.

S12 (Jordan v. Killings) = Good match, I like how you sold the finish, it was well done and pretty much out of nowhere. Rating it as far as being in the crowd, I really would have marked out for that switch in the maneuver, plus, if Jordan over sold it just a bit, it would have looked awesome. A bit perplexed about Killings using all those suplex type maneuvers, still, good bout. I'm not sure these guys have the best of chemistry, but, you pulled a good match nonetheless considering.

S13 (Backstage, JBL/Shane O Mac + Orton + Vinnie Mac) = Okay promo, everybody was pretty much in character but I felt the dialogue was a bit too long for the kind of setting they were in. I mean, JBL's got a pretty big mouth, I couldn't see him just letting Randy speak on for this long. Still, the ending made it worth while and very interesting past the actual matches heading in to the Rumble.

S14 (Rumble Hype) = Nice, really nice. I actually felt that for once, JR & King were not only depicted correctly, but took the right roles in a) having JR set up things and go over the details of the matches and then b) have King input his knowlegde and personal opinion in there. Not a lot of people are doing that right now in BTBs whether it be JR & King or any other duo. But you did a great job there. Kudos.

S15 (JBLOrtonShaneOMac v. CenaLashleyHHH) = Best match of the night for sure. I don't have much to say about it really, not because it was flawless but because it told a good enough story to Main Event a RAW show. Only little thing I have to pick on is the whole ending really with Shane perched up there but waiting and waiting and then, the whole flying through the air but getting kicked in the gut thing is a bit risky and I'm not sure it would have come off looking quite good. Still, the effect of the Pedigree for the crowd maybe erases that and brings the crowd back up to its feet. Yeah.

OVERALL = I'd say I'm digging this BTB (well, for the one show i've read thus far). It's the superstars of today with a different direction then we see on tv. Some new angles and twists have been implemented here and there and I like how everything flows from one segment to the other. The added bonus of having banners is a sweet touch and your colour coding is quite easy to follow. I'd probably skipped the neon green though, just saying. You have pretty much the superstars' way of speaking done quite well with a few itches here and there. The only thing I didn't really like is how the endings something came about in the matches. Like, keeping some people in the dark almost, like, Lashley in the ME. Still, the way the matches were written was quite good. Maybe sometime there's too much detail so we lose touch of the excitement you're trying to depict, still, it's pretty good.

Realism = 8/10
Length = 8/10
Quality/Entertainment = 8/10
Spelling/Grammar = 6.5/10
Matches/Booking = 7.5/10

Overall = 76/100 (B)

Lashley™'s RAW Review

Sorry this review isn't like 7 paragraphs long like some peoples, I make mine short and sweet and to the point.

Best Match: The main event which had Triple H w/Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, John Cena & Bobby Lashley
vs. Randy Orton, JBL & Shane McMahon w/Vince McMahon. Why did I choose this match? It was the most starstudded for one and I enjoyed it the most. I'm pleased that Triple H got the win for his team and I also liked how he kicked Shane in the gut after he went for the Coast to Coast.

Worst Match:
You didn't have one, I enjoyed all of your matches mate.

Best Promo: The final promo with Mr. McMahon, JBL and Shane. It's got me excited even more for the Royal Rumble! What will Linda have to say? How much impact will it have on RAW and McMahon's control?

Worst Promo: N/A, you didn't have one.

Additional: You are one of the best bookers around here, you have got yourself a regular reader and reviewer here. Your storylines are top notch and are very entertaining, all the superstars are in character and I love how you write the matches. Keep it up! I would give this show 8.5/10

Again, sorry about the small review, several reasons for that, not alot of time and I like my reviews straight to the point are the main reasons. Don't worry I will give a longer review for your Royal Rumble which looks to be an excellent read!

***48 HOURS UNTIL THE ROYAL RUMBLE!***

TWO CHALLENGERS AND TWO DAYS TO GO!

In what was a rollercoaster of a show last Friday for Shawn Michaels in Canada, he learnt only after defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Edge, he will be doing so again at the Royal Rumble. However, it won’t just be Edge challenging him, as the former World Champion, Batista too gets his rematch after losing the title to Shawn last month at Saturday Night’s Main Event. With Edge also having unveiled a surprise for Michaels, in the shape of The Heartbreak Kid’s cousin, Michael Shane, it was Shane who tried to help Edge in his quest to take back the World Championship he was forced to forfeit last year. It didn’t all go Edge’s way though as The Animal came to Michaels’ rescue, taking care of Shane and then Edge to save the title for Michaels with Edge picking up the win by disqualification.

With all the chaos that went down last week in Edge’s home country last week, will we see a sense of normality resumed when the three superstars return to America just two days removed from their huge triple threat match at the Royal Rumble?

UMAGA DRAWS BLOOD & STEALS ONE FROM THE DEAD MAN
Last Friday night saw the eagerly anticipated one on one collision between The Undertaker and Umaga, in a First Blood match. After costing the dead man a shot at the World Championship six weeks ago and then leaving him in a graveyard just a few weeks back, The Samoan Bulldozer was in line to finally get his comeuppance. However, it didn’t go that way as Umaga put up one hell of a fight, and controversially took the match. With Umaga been busted open by The Undertaker, the referee was knocked down previously, and when he finally came round, he saw the sight of Taker bleeding and called for the bell. However, Taker had only just been cut open after a chair shot by Umaga, meaning that Umaga stole the match having bled first.

The dead man didn’t let the decision stand in his way of getting some revenge on The Samoan Savage after the match, but are these two done with each other just yet?

DOES SMACKDOWN HAVE THE RUMBLE WINNER?
According to Smackdown General Manager William Regal, he has a surprise in store for this Friday night that will involve a number of Smackdown’s Royal Rumble participants. The Englishman has told WWE.com that he will not be going into more detail about that, but has stated that throughout the show, we will hear from several of the superstars that will be aiming to win a World Championship match at Wrestlemania 24.

What has the GM got in store for the Rumble hopefuls?

PUT UP OR SHUT UP TIME FOR DYKSTRA
Kenny Dykstra hasn’t been shy of opening his mouth ever since he became the Cruiserweight Champion at the Survivor Series. However, he faces his biggest challenge yet this Sunday at the Royal Rumble when he defends against Chavo Guerrero. The two have been back at forth at each other for the last few weeks since Chavo returned following the concussion he suffered at the hands of the cocky champion before the New Year.

With Chavo picking up a victory last week in a triple threat match that also featured Dykstra and earned them both a place in the Rumble match itself, how will Dykstra feel about the momentum Chavo is gaining going into their match up Sunday night?

DOWN TO THREE, BUT GOING TO TWO
Last week, we saw the start of a series of matches that will lead to the crowning of new number one contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championship. It started with four teams, and with one team being eliminated each week, it will continue this week with a triple threat match between the teams of Matt Sydal & Johnny Jeter, The Pitbulls and the winners of last weeks match up, eliminating Jimmy Wang Yang and Super Crazy, John Morrison & The Miz.

The team that loses the match this week will be eliminated this Friday, leaving just two teams to battle it out the following week for a shot at the gold. There is only question right now, and that is, which team will fall short this Friday night in The Big Apple?

CONFIRMED FOR THIS WEEK ON FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP SERIES
LOSERS ARE ELIMINATED, REMAINING TEAMS ADVANCE TO DECIDING MATCH NEXT WEEK
Matt Sydal & Johnny Jeter
vs. The Pitbulls
vs. John Morrison & The Miz

Don’t miss what goes down just 48 hours before the 2008 Royal Rumble!

***2 DAYS UNTIL THE ROYAL RUMBLE***

***OPENING VIDEO***
“Rise Up”

***PYRO***
***PYRO***
***PYRO***
***PYRO***
***PYRO***

“Sexy Boy” blasts out & Shawn Michaels walks down to the ring in a suit with the World Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder as the crowd all stand up

***HUGE POP***

Shawn Michaels:
You can’t possibly imagine how great it is to be back in the good old U S of A

***HUGE POP***

Shawn Michaels:
Last week I got it from all corners. . . Edge, family and even an animal. . . You know, not only can Canada not get over something that happened ten years ago, neither can my so called cousin, Michael Shane. . . For those of you who had the misfortune to tune in last week, you would have seen yours truly on the end of the Canadian fan’s abuse as well as seeing me forced into defending my World Title against the Rated R Jackass known as Edge

***HEAT***

Shawn Michaels:
But not only that, Edge had a special surprise for me. He wasn’t just happy to remind Canada of every little mistake I’ve made in my life, but he even turned my own cousin against me. . . He thought he’d really twist the knife that little bit further by putting my own cousin in his corner in our championship match. . . He put every little obstacle in my way, thinking he had the match won and would be leaving Canada with my title. . . However, it didn’t quite go to plan did it Edge? . . . Your little plan backfired in a big way

***POP***

Shawn Michaels:
Well tonight and Sunday Edge, you’re not in Ontario, you’re in the United States of America baby, and you’ve got one fired up Heartbreak Kid ready to kick your head right off your shoulders

***BIG POP***

Shawn Michaels:
And Edge if you wanna test me tonight, I’m beggin ya. . . I’m beggin ya to try me one time

***POP***

Shawn Michaels:
Come on big man, bring your ass down here right now and I’ll do what I should have done last week and put you out of your misery

***POP***

“I Walk Alone” tears through the speakers as Batista walks out to mainly cheers, but some boos in jeans, a shirt and sunglasses

As Batista gets in the ring, he walks over to get a microphone while Michaels looks confused

Batista: Shawn, I didn’t have any plans to come down here, but after hearing what you had to say, I feel that I need to tell you something. . . You seem to forget that you’re not only defending that title there against Edge this Sunday. . . you’ll be defending it against me too. . . Shawn, you need to look past Edge and look at your real challenge. . . me. . . You took that title away from me last month, and this Sunday night, I’m taking it back

***MIXED REACTION***

Shawn Michaels:
Well Dave, I’m glad you came down here. . . I didn’t forget about you as you seem to think. . .trust me I didn’t. . . See last week, I had a match with Edge and I lost by disqualification. . . But Dave, I have a question for you. . . why was that? . . . How did I lose by disqualification last week? . . . Did I get too carried away like sometimes the show stopper does? . . . Did I temporarily lose control of my senses? . . . Or was it. . . could it just be because someone by the name of Batista got involved in my match and attacked my opponent?

***HEAT DIRECTED AT BATISTA***

Shawn Michaels:
I’m sure we both have different opinions Dave, but let me tell you something Dave before you put these people to sleep. . . You cost me the match last week Dave, and you can’t deny that. And Dave, to me a loss is a loss despite the fact I held onto this title, that yeah I took from you big fella, you. . .

Batista: Shawn, as much as you might not want to hear it, I was doing you a favour. I was the only friend you had in Canada last week, and if it wasn’t for me, the chances are you wouldn’t be standing here tonight with that title on your shoulder. . . But then again Shawn, this time next week, you won’t be

***HEAT***

Batista:
Because this time next week, it will be back where it belongs. . . around the waist of The Animal

***HEAT***

Batista:
This Sunday Shawn, you can do whatever you want to me, it’s not going to make a difference. It’s every man for himself and I promise you Shawn, you will not leave Madison Square Garden as the World Champion

***HEAT***

Shawn Michaels:
Dave, I like ya big man, you know that. But as you just said, it’s every man for himself, and that’s why I hate to have to tell you this. . . Sunday night, the Royal Rumble. . . I’m putting the animal down

***BIG POP***

Batista stares at Shawn when. . .

“Promenade” hits and William Regal walks out to the entrance with a microphone in hand

***POP***

William Regal:
Gentleman, before we have ourselves a situation here, I’m protecting the pair of you for later on, because tonight I have something very special planned. . . In just 48 hours, the both of you along with Edge will be competing for the World Championship in a triple threat match, but tonight, as well as having an over the top rope battle royal, along with Edge, you will all be in singles action

***BIG POP***

William Regal:
However, tonight I don’t feel it would be fair for me to pick your opponents. . . So instead, I am going to ask each of you to pick each other’s opponents, or in this case, pick each other’s poison

***BIG POP***

William Regal:
Shawn, your opponent will be chosen by Edge. . . Batista, you will be selecting who will face Edge. . . And that means that Shawn, you will be deciding who Batista will be facing tonight. . . And gentleman, choose wisely

Shawn and Batista look at each other with serious expressions on their faces as “Promenade” hits and Regal leaves to go backstage

***COMMERCIAL BREAK***

***VIDEO PROMO***

We cut backstage to a pre recorded segment with Ric Flair standing in front of a blue curtain

***BIG POP***

Ric Flair:
This Sunday night is the Royal Rumble at the most famous arena of all time. . . Madison Square Garden. . . WOOOO. . .

***BIG POP***

Ric Flair:
And I, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair will be part of the biggest Royal Rumble match of all time. And it will be the jet flyin, limousine ridin, whealin dealin, kiss stealin son of a gun who will be going to Wrestlemania 24 for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. . . WOOOOOOO!!

***MASSIVE POP***

We then cut to see Finlay standing in front of the same curtain

Finlay:
For over twenty years I have fought with everyone put in my way. But in just two days time, I will have 29 other people to beat the crap out of. And I love nothing more than to fight, the more people the better, because no one is going to stop me from getting a shot at the World title. . . No one

***CUT TO THE ARENA***

***MATCH #1***

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP SERIES
LOSERS ARE ELIMINATED, WINNERS ADVANCE TO DECIDING MATCH NEXT WEEK
Matt Sydal & Johnny Jeter
vs. The Pitbulls
vs. John Morrison & The Miz

ENDING:
Sydal crawls over to his corner as Noble makes his way slowly back up to his feet with Sydal then making the tag as he jumps up and tags in his partner. Johnny Jeter charges in, and as Noble turns round, Jeter jumps up at him and connects with a back elbow smash to the upper chest. Both men then make their way back up to their feet with Jeter reacting first as he stomps Noble in the gut, pulls Noble’s head under his arm and turns to run into the corner, where he runs up them and then plants Noble with a TORNADO DDT. . . . . A huge pop breaks out as Jeter then readjusts his position to make the cover, hooking both of Noble’s leg as the ref counts 1 . . . . 2 . . . . .

Kid Kash makes the save at the last second with a boot to the back of Jeter’s head. Sydal goes ballistic as he rushes through the ropes and runs at Kash, taking him down to the mat with a dropkick with Kash landing against the ropes. As Kash stands back up by the ropes, Sydal is already on his feet and charges at Kash, but The Notorious K.I.D. grabs the top rope and pulls it down with Sydal going over the top to the outside and the arena floor. With John Morrison standing on the apron above Sydal, he sees him getting back up slowly and as Sydal stands up, Morrison jumps off the apron and connects with a DIVING CROSS BODY. . . . . Both men drop to the floor while Noble and Jeter squirm on the mat while The Miz then drops down off the apron and stomps all over Sydal’s body.

The ref is trying to get Kash back on the apron, but then sees the attack on the outside and walks over to the ropes to try and break it up by shouting down at them. Morrison & Miz take no notice as Kash then walks over to Jeter as he and Noble both make their way back up. Kash grabs Jeter by the head and drags it under his arm, then lifts him up in the air for a suplex, but instead plants him with the DEAD LEVEL (BRAIN BUSTER DDT). . . . . Noble smiles at his partner as Kash makes his way back to the apron. Noble then yells at the ref to turn round as he then drops back down to the mat and covers Jeter. The ref runs back across the mat and makes the count 1 . . . . 2 . . . . . 3.

AFTERMATH: “Slam Smack” hits & Noble stands back up with Kash slipping back in the ring to congratulate him. Morrison & Miz look up at The Pitbulls in the ring as they look over and smile, mouthing the words “next week”

***COMMERCIAL BREAK***

William Regal is sitting down at his desk in his office when Edge & Michael Shane walk in, prompting Regal to stand up

***MAJOR HEAT***

William Regal:
Edge, what an unexpected disappointment

Edge: Look Regal, you can hate me all you want, but tonight I’m gonna let it go for one night. See by letting me choose Shawn Michaels’ opponent tonight, you just made me the hot favourite for Sunday night, if I wasn’t already, and I respect that. . . You finally made the right call last week, giving me a one on one shot for my World Championship, and you even did it again by making the triple threat for the Rumble after Batista got in my way last week. . . And just when I think it couldn’t get any better, you go and pull another one out of the hat by making it Pick Your Poison right here tonight. I applaud you Regal

William Regal: Well I am so very happy that I have satisfied you Edge, but there is only one thing I wish to learn from you, and that is who you have chosen to face Shawn Michaels here tonight

Edge: Oh no Regal, I didn’t choose Shawn’s opponent. . . Shawn did

William Regal: I’m sorry, you’ve lost me

Edge: Over to you Mike

Michael Shane: What he means is, Shawn chose his opponent a long time ago. . . He trained me to be the next big superstar after The Heartbreak Kid for months and months back in San Antonio when his back went, trying to help out his own flesh and blood. But do you know what he did? .
